Fantastic! Amazing service! Just incredibly nice. I had an order delivered. They packed it so well. Not a drop of soup dripped. I guess I'm behind things because I never tried deep fried green beans. Oh my gosh! I now can blame Happy Wok for my addiction to them! I also ordered the lettuce rolls and that can be iffy especially when it's being delivered but the lettuce was crisp but easy to roll and the meat was perfect all the sauces were delicious! No I did not lick the bowl of the peanut sauce . The only thing I would ask is if they could please carry more gluten-free items. This can just be anything made with rice so for Asian food that's pretty doable. Oh! Very important thing! I made a huge error. Somehow I did not see one of the items that was in my order I got like two or three bags and one of the bags was set to the side by someone and I thought it hadn't been delivered. So I called and they were incredibly nice and immediately gave me a refund well an hour later somebody found the bag. I felt so stupid. And really really bad. I called them to let them know they said don't worry about it and I said no I cannot do that and I had someone stop by the next day to give them the money that they had refunded me so kindly. read more

Hubby got his usual, Chicken with Mixed Vegetables-Family Meal that comes with steamed white rice, small egg drop soup, a crab puff, and a vegetable egg roll. Me, I had the savory, Beef Chow Fun noodles, with lots of thinly sliced tender beef...yum! Service was prompt, got a warm smile and welcome greeting. The staff was pleasant, but I was a bit put off because you have to order and pay up front before you eat. It's hard to tip when you don't know how the service or food will be. They bring the food out to you. I usually drink water with my meals. I was told it was 50 cents for a bottle. I don't like drinking out of a flimsy plastic bottle and usually drink more than 8 ounces. I should have asked for a glass and ice, again a personal preference. Lunch specials include an egg roll, soup and white rice. I ordered the shrimp with vegetables. It was in a nice brown sauce and the veggies were fresh and not overcooked. The egg drop soup was good. I didn't really care for the egg roll, but that's just a personal preference. They have a great selection on the lunch menu as well as the regular one. I saw some other dishes go by that looked interesting as well. Portion size was okay for lunch. Lunch specials are $10.50-$11.50 which is average compared to other places. The place was clean but nothing fancy. I will probably stop in when I'm in the area and hungry for Chinese food. *I want to make a note that the food in the dining room is now served on regular plates and bowls. I noticed previous reviews said the food was served in styrofoam. If that had been the case, I would not return. I don't do take out very often, partly because I hate styrofoam. I was craving some General Tso's chicken and some noodles, so I tried out the restaurant near where I live and ordered to-go. Disappointed was an understatement. I ordered the lunch special of the General Tso's chicken and it just came with chicken and rice. Most Chinese restaurants will at least put in a couple florets of broccoli, but this had no vegetables at all. I also ordered the Beef Chow Fun and it decent. I'll say 4.5. It was pretty dang good. OK, things are looking up for the east side. This is only a 13 minute drive from my house, it is in the Safeway plaza on E. Valencia in Rita Ranch. We had the Happy Family: Beef, chicken, char Siu pork, shrimp, scallops, snow peas, water chestnuts, mushrooms, broccoli, bamboo shoots, and zucchini. It said "crab meat" in the description, but there wasn't any. This was really good! The beef and chicken were SO tender, like butter in your mouth. The veggies were cooked right. The char Siu pork tasted old and didn't like it. But you know, just pick it out. This was a great choice. The wonton soup has big won tons. Broth is good, dumplings good. A large is large and can feed four. The pork egg rolls were good. Edible. Yeah, I know, I'm jaded because no one makes as good of egg rolls as Mom. But these were decent. Definitely better than Ba Dars, which were lackluster. It came with a bag of fried wonton strips. Not sure what to do with that. The rice is not the usual small grained rice that doesn't stick. It is maybe a medium grained rice that does stick a little. Definitely prefer it to the usual. Service? Well, I called it in and she said it would be 15 minutes. I get in the car and get there in 13 minutes and it is waiting for me! All hot and ready to go! Yeah, super service. We will eat here again. The beef and chicken makes it so that we want to try their other dishes with those meats in it. And for those times that I don't want to drive 25 minutes to Jun Dynasty. The egg drop soup test is an important test to pass in order for me to like a Chinese food restaurant. If the soup has a good flavor and a thicker consistency than just plain broth, you're usually also going to get a good main dish. Happy to say both are true at Happy Wok - a no frills spot where the food is served in styrofoam regardless if you eat in or take out. I ate in and the food came out so fast I wondered if it was not freshly prepared. Glad to say it definitively was and it was as good as the soup! It did come out of the kitchen at just slightly cooler than the surface of the sun, but once it cooled down, I was able to enjoy the nice heat of my kung pao chicken, well appointed with meat and fresh vegetables. I opted for their hot sour soup & upgraded to fried rice. Their soups are the thick, creamy-type, and I'm not a fan; I prefer the old-fashion broth type (if you know, you know!) Egg roll, perfect! Ordered takeout from here a few weeks ago. We had heard some good things so we decided to order. We ordered chicken and broccoli, chicken fried rice, sweet-and-sour chicken and a couple of egg rolls. Let me tell you, the chicken, fried rice was one of the best I've ever had! The flavor was fantastic! As far as the other stuff, while it tasted good, it didn't have a ton of flavor. Their sweet-and-sour sauce is a little on the thin side with not a lot sweet flavor. The order was ready and packed up when we got there. Everyone was very friendly. The inside looked nice, but I always seem to be turned off when one of the tables is used as an office. I think that should be done in the back. Our food only took 15min to be ready so again, there's that. The food... I ordered the crab puffs and there was no crab in any of my puffs. Just straight cream cheese. They recommended Happy Wok and my husband and I were not disappointed! It's in a kind of random location, in a shopping center with a Safeway. The interior was cozy with wood accents, a bar with a TV, and nice lighting. They did the work to get rid of the gross fluorescent lights! Big deal in my book! Still a little too bright for my liking, but much better than many other restaurants. Service was quick and friendly. You get wonton crisps and sweet and sour sauce. Gotta be honest--these weren't my favorite so I was a little worried about my meal. I ordered the Mongolian beef ($10.25) and fortunately it was very good! The sauce had a subtle spice--just perfect for my tastebuds--and was perfectly savory with fresh veggies. Rice served on the side wasn't super plentiful but just enough. Been here a few times and every time it is great service, friendly staff, and awesome food. From the outside it doesn't impress, but the meals are always large, fresh, and filling. We have enough for leftovers each visit. The egg rolls and crab puffs come out fast, along with the chicken wing and spare rib appetizers. They always start you off with a cute bowl of noodles with sweet/sour sauce, I love putting their hot mustard on them. The hot mustard is always nice, they even give me some to take home with my leftovers every time. Keep up the great food and service, and we will keep coming back. If the soup is good the food tends to be good) and my Szechuan beef had excellent flavor, was hot, and had plenty of fresh ingredients. It could have been spicier for me but I like insanely spicy food and they have to cook for the average pallet. The service was a little slow but not too bad. If you are looking for ambiance, look elsewhere. The place feels kind of like a cafeteria. The food is served from Styrofoam containers (yes even with dine in) and plastic cutlery. The Happy Wok was clean and inviting. Lunch prices were very reasonable and there were plenty of lunch options. We were greeted and sat quickly. We ordered off the lunch menu all of which came with an entree, white rice, egg roll, and soup. I got the Mongolian beef with egg drop soup. The soup came out in short order with wonton crisps and sweet and sour dipping sauce. The soup was a yellow liquid base with eggs throughout. The flavor was lacking, it tasted of a bit of egg in a thick corn starchy liquid and was void of any additional texture or flavor. The remainder of the lunch was served soon after the soup. The Mongolian beef was reasonably plentiful and came with a scoop of rice and an egg roll. The beef was tender and had a good flavor, the white rice was cooked appropriately. I passed the egg roll to the wife because it was more cabbage than anything which doesn't entice me, I believe she said it was "OK". Lunch was a reasonable amount of food at a reasonable price.
