Yoka tea is such a great little spot in Madrona! They seem to be a popular study spot since there were a bunch of students studying there on a Sunday afternoon. Got the strawberry matcha and strawberry jasmine tea. The tea was great and had little chunks of strawberry in it! Wasn't too sweet either. I liked the strawberry matcha but thought there was maybe a touch too much milk since I feel like that was mostly what I could taste. Def recommend drinking it with a straw to get the strawberry bits/flavor a bit more. They also sell some Asian pantry items and little goodies too! read more

Located in a leafy part of Madrona near the lake, this spot is a solid new spot for matcha d rinks! There was a running event happening when we visited so it was a bit loud, but on normal days, Yoka seems like it would be a nice, chill hangout spot. My friend got the mango slushie which wasn't anything mindblowing, but it was refreshing on a warm day. The Turon matcha I got was a matcha latte with a jam-like banana topping, and I loved that the banana part wasn't too sweet, and that I could still taste the matcha through the milk and jam. Would happily get this drink again. Service was friendly, and my turon drink took ~10 minutes to come out - they hand-whisk all the matcha drinks! Parking was easy on a nearby street, and it was nice to be able to walk down to the water to enjoy our drinks (though there are a lot of stairs involved). read more

The turon matcha is sooo good! They took a very viral drink and made it better!! It's crazy it actually tastes like turon loll. This is by far my favorite spot for matcha in Seattle! The inside is nice and spacious and also very well decorated. There are both tables and couches, so you'll find an area that suits whatever you need. I got the matcha einspanner since I didn't realize that they also had just regular matcha lattes. However, I didn't regret it at all because it was absolutely delicious! Super smooth, creamy, strong matcha flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. I got it with oat milk which they do charge extra for, but the drink was absolutely perfect. I'd come back to try all their other flavors too! They have strawberry and banana matchas, and some other items too. read more

Hmm came here because it was a hot new tea (and coffee!) shop in town. The place was hopping! Very busy and very long line after lunch on Sunday. They had a shelf of fun snacks and other goodies (stickers, tea, a book?, etc). I got a bag of $6 milk tea flavored popcorn and ordered a black milk tea with oat milk and boba. Staff was friendly and drinks came quick. There was a park across the street you could sit at to chat and drink boba, if it's nice out like it was today and there are no seats left inside. Pearls were nicely textured, chewy, maybe sliiiiightly over done. The tea flavor was good. ...but the drink itself tastes mostly watery? I guess there wasn't much milk. Also quite sweet, I'm used to adjusting sugar levels when I get tea and this place was just SugarToTheMax!. I think ultimately for what I got I could've gotten any number of places for a better price. I don't recommend the popcorn ;_; it just tasted like some form of kettle corn, and not at all of the tea. read more

I have been following the owners for awhile. Through pop ups and the journey to opening the space. A few weeks ago I got a little preview of the space and what to expect. But wanted to wait to do a review till I visited and experience the full experience of ordering and waiting. They're in the second week of soft opening. Service was friendly which ai expected. The line was long but mostly cause customers were taking awhile to decide what tomorrow order. But line moved well and service was helpful and friendly. Since they were out of matcha it was nice they were offering their afternoon menu before noon the day I went. I was looking for something decaf so the yuzu honey tea was suggested I got it iced was very nice and refreshing. Ordered the mango coconut slush for my dad. I didn't get any food this visit though have had the OG croffle and it is nicely caramelized. They were low on pastries probably cause they were busy all weekend but there were still some onigiri left. I grabbed a couple items from the Anyoung Super which is always a perk when there is a little market kiosk onsite. Lots of natural lighting tables, and couch conversation setting. Aesthetic makes you feel right at home. Light wood clean lines. Definitely a place neighbors and the community will want to hangout at. Definitely will be back read more

Yoka Tea has been on my radar for awhile! Sadly, I was never able to make any of their pop-ups but was excited to learn about their brick & mortar location, especially after fellow Yelper Chris J. gave rave reviews about their teas and croffle. I'm not in the Madrona area very often but I had an appointment nearby, which was the perfect opportunity to check out Yoka Tea afterwards. I ordered the strawberry matcha (my go-to at most places that offer it) and I added coconut jelly, just to branch out from the standard boba. I was also concerned about sweetness so opted for no vanilla syrup, which is what they use for sweetener. The drink was perfect! Definitely one of the best strawberry matcha drinks I have had in the area. I wanted the croffle as well but learned that they are only served later in the day (I think after 12:00 noon). Sad! But, reason to come back again soon :) Staff (Marcellus?) was super friendly and checked in to make sure I was enjoying my drink. They also have a great selection of pantry/snack/sweet items from other vendors (mainly Asian-leaning) - such as chili crips, snacks from Gochiso, etc. I picked up a Gochiso snack and some matcha spread. I wish this was closer/more convenient for me, but will definitely be back when I can! read more

Yoka is one of the best cafes in Seattle!! Great vibes, community, and ambience. Located in such a cute area as well! I would literally do anything to have an endless supply of their Banana Bread Latte... I normally don't like things too sweet but their syrup is so addicting--the banana flavor is so strong and doesn't seem artificial at all. Their matcha isn't my favorite (I find it difficult to distinguish the matcha flavor sometimes, especially when paired with their syrups or cream top), but still solid and I really appreciate them hand-whisking everything to perfection. Definitely recommend giving them a try!! read more

The space is small but always bustling. Not much seating or table space, maybe total 25 seats. You can see customers from a mix of different ages. They have a cute boutique-esque corner with asian items and products from other businesses. It's well curated with a variety of products from kitchen ingredients to general trinkets and limited apparel. No parking lot, just street parking, I can see it being difficult to find parking at peak times. While resy is a really cute place, not somewhere I'd want to spend too much time. Winter Special Black Sesame Matcha Latte (2/5) The drink was almost $10 after tax. the black sesame is prominent and you can tell its fresh because of the amount of ground black sesame in the drink but if you're not used to that gritty texture, It is a little off-putting. The overall drink while cold had a "warm" toasty taste due to the roasted nature of the sesame - it almost completely overpowers the matcha rather than accenting it. Came on a much raved for recommendation from a friend - The Turon Matcha was her gateway. Menu items are interesting overall, I'd be interested in trying something else if I was in the area read more

Another one of my favorite matcha spots in Seattle! It's super close to Madrona Park, making it the perfect summer activity to grab a matcha and head to the park. There are a few tables for working but it can fill up quickly. I feel pretty productive when I work here. My go-to is the matcha latte with soy milk and no sugar. The quality is pretty good compared to other places in Seattle and they sell their matcha powders as well. The interior is cute! read more

Lovely service and easy ordering. There's free street parking and typically a long line hitting the sidewalk on a weekend. The drinks come out pretty quick, but it's hard to grab a table because it's so poppin inside. Strawberry matcha: so good! Tastes fresh and love the matcha amount, strength is perfect Black milk tea: this was just ok in my opinion, didn't taste strong enough of tea and I think I'll stick to the matcha drinks! Matcha einspanner: eventually tasted just like a matcha latte, I typically enjoy when the cream top is thicker, it was a little thin in this drink read more

First off..forgot to take a pic so apologies for the last minute snap haha. The matcha lychee lemonade was fantastic though! A very refreshing pick-me-up midway through the day and not too sweet. Presentation was 10/10. Interior of the cafe is very aesthetic (think mid century modern / japandi) so it's a nice spot to hangout but the surrounding neighborhood is also worth exploring if the shop is a bit crowded. I will be back to try the yuzu espresso tonic! Parking- I found street parking around the neighborhood. Update: went back for the turon matcha latte. again another 10/10. delish. banana marketing really popping off with these banana matcha lattes. read more

New cafe in Madrona! The interior is cute and lively. They sell trinkets, foods, etc near the cashier. The matcha matcha was sold out so I ordered the matcha einspanner. They hand whisk the matcha which is nice. The cafe was fairly busy on a Sunday, but it took a total of 10 minutes to order and receive my drink. My drink was ok. It has a funky taste and I only got to drinking half before throwing it away. Something was off putting and I tried my best to like it :(. I've had worse matchas and nothing stood out about this one except a funky taste. Maybe their other drinks are better but I don't see myself returning anytime soon. The drink is a 2/5 but the vibes and everything bumps this to a 3. read more

By far the best matcha cafe I've been to. I was missing the nyc matcha cafes that I've visited last weekend and heard something similar opened up (finally!) in Seattle. They carried my favorite kettl products from nyc, and I knew this is def the place to get quality matcha drinks. We ordered a Lychee matcha-ade and a Turon matcha, both were delicious, though I prefer the Turon matcha more. Matcha matcha was sold out, so def need to come back to try this one next time. The cafe is quite spacious and I love how it's based in my favorite neighborhood: Madrona (quaint and and quite lovely on a sunny day like today). Not too long of a line, and it is worth the wait if there's ever a long queue. Drinks came out in 5 minutes or less, so service was quick. read more

So heres my update: Got to try the matcha einspanner and their black milk tea. Came in with a positive outlook and thought my expectations were going to be met. While I don't discount the quality in the ingredients one thing that fell short was the matcha einspanner. To me what makes an einspanner is the thick/dense layer of whipped cream that doesn't easily dissipate into the drink itself unless agitated or stirred forcefully. And yoka's take on the einspanner was more reminiscent of a "espresso con panna" but with matcha instead of espresso. The whipped cream element was lightly milky, and creamy. I tried their black milk tea with boba. It wasn't bad. I also thought it was milky and wish it had a stronger tea flavor. The boba texture wasn't qq in the initial first half of my tasting experience. It was soft and reminded me of the boba pearls in the black milk tea ice cream bars that were all the rave a few years ago. During the 2nd half of my experience it started to get chewy and have that bounce that I like. Going back to the stronger tea comment. It was mentioned during the ordering process that they could make it so the tea flavor is bolder. So if you like your milk teas to be more tea forward. Mention it and I'm sure it'll be a different experience. I guess the final question to answer is, what would I come here for? Personally I like their Turon Matcha Latte. I would also recommend the strawberry matcha latte. I think I would get their milk tea if I was in the area and was craving a milk tea with boba, but I wouldn't personally seek it out. Lastly, I wouldn't order the einspanner if I were expecting it to have that thick/dense whipped cream component. read more

I have already been to Yoka twice and love it!! I have been a supporter of them when they still had their popups and would go as often as possible and so proud of what they were able to do with this store :D This time my friend and I ordered the strawberry matcha, matcha latte with matcha foam, and the strawberry jasmine tea. We both LOVED the matchas. The workers who helped us were so wonderful in helping and serving especially with how busy they were as it was a Sunday. The interior of the store is decorated beautifully and serves as a great study spot besides the rather cramped seating and sticky tables :( I am looking forward to when they add their drinks from their past popups as I miss them so much!! read more

What a stunning place in the heart of Madrona! I love their selection of beverages and despite it being their soft opening, the space is curated to be super homey and cozy, kept very clean and tidy and professional, I can't believe this is a new spot that just opened! The staff embodies the true spirit of hospitality - upon ordering, they genuinely appreciated my patience while waiting in line and enthusiastically shared what makes their drink items unique from each other to help me decide. Every question i asked was met with enthusiastic expertise. The menu itself is a work of art - the typography is exquisite, perfectly legible while showcasing their distinctive brand identity. Their illustrations also that perfect balance of subtle charm yet bold character that elevates the entire experience before you even place your order! I had the absolute pleasure of indulging in their matcha einspanner and the OG croffle. Though I had my heart set on the strawberry matcha (which had sold out by my 1:20pm Saturday arrival!), the einspanner proved to be a revelation. The harmonious marriage of premium matcha with their signature whipped honey created a flavor profile that was simultaneously complex and comforting. I'm already counting down the days until I can return to sample their elusive strawberry matcha creation! The OG croffle deserves its own standing ovation - a masterpiece of texture and flavor that defies description. Generously portioned and presented with Instagram-worthy elegance, each bite was pure bliss. My only tiny suggestion would be the addition of a knife to better to cut it while eating. I couldnt risk eating with my hands and risking losing any of these divine toppings. Yoka is a destination that has instantly earned a permanent spot in my heart. I'm already planning my next visit. Yoka Tea is so good!! The kind of place you try once and immediately want to come back to. I stopped by during their soft opening and was genuinely impressed. The drinks are delicious, thoughtfully made, and 100% worth it. I tried the strawberry matcha (yummy and refreshing), but the turon matcha completely stole the show. If you've never had turon, it's a caramelized sweet banana egg roll, and somehow they captured those warm banana and caramel notes perfectly in matcha without it being too sweet. So balanced and comforting. The staff was awesome! Friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The interior is cozy and aesthetically pleasing, making it a great spot to study, work, or just hang out with a drink. You can tell care went into both the space and the menu. Probably one of the better matcha spots I've tried in Seattle. Yoka is tucked into a charming corner of Madrona, and the space itself is lovely. When my partner and I visited, they were generous with the amount of matcha in our drinks, though I've heard from friends that consistency can vary. Since they are still in their soft opening, I imagine details like that are being worked out. The ambiance is perfect for studying or chatting, and the staff member who took my order was very accommodating with adjusting the sweetness to my preference. Tried this spot during lunch and it's super cute! The ambiance and service was really nice and friendly. When I got my drink I thought it was wrong at first and had to check my receipt to confirm, and I went back to inform them I had the wrong drink (at first I thought I grabbed the wrong one). We had gotten one strawberry matcha and one jasmine milk tea and I think the barista had just read it wrong we double strawberry drinks. The barista was very apologetic and offered to make me my original drink or even try to make my current drink milky and overall it was very nice and she was friendly. I visited Yoka Tea on 7/18/26. I'm a hardcore matcha enthusiast, so I was eager to try this cafe! I ordered their Matcha Matcha (matcha latte with matcha créma top) at the recommendation of the barista, since I prefer a stronger matcha. I got it unsweetened and was able to add the provided syrup myself to adjust the sweetness. It was pretty good, but the matcha wasn't quite as rich as I wanted. It's a great place but didn't quite satisfy as much as my favorite matcha cafes. To their credit, they are more than a matcha cafe. If I'm in the area again, I'll have to try their other teas--they offer a variety of milk teas, coffee, hojicha, and other concoctions. The jasmine milk tea is next on my list to try.
