Good matcha spot in cap hill! Tried it for the first time with a friend. Space inside is a little small, and was pretty crowded when I visited, but the interior is super cute and cozy; it's the perfect study spot. I tried the iced banana matcha and my friend got the osmanthus matcha. Both were very good. The osmanthus is strong and floral. And the banana bread cold foam has a strong caramelized banana and cinnamon flavor, exactly like the banana jam I usually make at home. I liked that the matcha itself was very light on the sweetness, the sweet cold foam complemented that well when mixed into the drink. I'd probably recommend the osmanthus matcha, as the banana is more along the lines of something I'd be able to make at home, whereas osmanthus is more unique and rare. Was it worth the price? Probably not, but it's still it's one of the better matcha spots in the Seattle area. read more

Located in the western part of the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Offline Coffee proves if you put your heart and mind into making your business dreams come true, anything is possible. Offline Coffee is the brainchild of co-owners and managers Krystal and Lucy, who have gone from proud graduates of nearby University of Washington to successful career individuals to living out the American dream of owning their own business. Located in a relatively quiet area filled with houses and apartments along Bellevue Avenue East in what was once a full service restaurant known as Finch & Pine, Offline Coffee specializes in traditional coffee drinks with an emphasis in Asian flavors. From coffee drinks such as espressos to cold brews to matcha infused beverages from lattes to Americanos they are all here. But what brought this out-of-towner all the way out here via a brief ride share lift from where I was staying, was the fact that Offline Coffee specializes in featuring a number of their beverages that bring together the best flavors found in Asia and stateside. The buzz was good and I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. After being dropped off at about 3 p.m. I knew I only had about an hour to discover what their menu had to offer, and upon arriving Offline Coffee was still rather busy with people typing away at their laptops and others conversing at the large communal table. The menu at Offline Coffee is currently separated into categories including Coffee, Match, Signature Beverages, and their Extras. I decided to order a large size and hot version of their Orange Osmanthus Latte which was made with espresso, milk, osmanthus syrup and topped with orange zest. For an extra 60 cents I ordered it with oak milk. Finding a seat at their communal table that was perfect for working on my laptop was easy to do, and thankfully the preparation for my beverage did not take too long. Sitting there and enjoying my beautifully crafted coffee while typing away truly represents what Seattle is all about and I was proud to partake in this ritual. Nice and smooth with just the hint of orange flavoring with a decadent floral touch as dressing for the top of my warm beverage made for one memorable tasting experience. Enjoying that coffee only made me want to try more of their uniquely crafted beverages and before I left for the afternoon, I decided to order a second beverage for the road, and their Huamei Spritz that was a refreshing cold drink served with Chinese plum syrup, lemon, iced sparkling water and topped with my option of cream. Bright without being overly sweet, it was the perfect drink to take on the road, and as the team at Offline Coffee was closing up shop for the day, they were nice enough to offer a baked good warmed up for my pleasure and I opted for their spinach filled croissant, which was a lovely savory treat that pairs well with everything. I had such a great experience at Offline Coffee, that I was back a mere two days later as a treat to myself and a friend with whom I met up with for lunch. This time I ordered their other coffee beverage listed under their Signature section of their menu and their Yezi Latte which was espresso poured over rich Chinese coconut milk, a unique combination if I have ever enjoyed one and you better believe that I enjoyed this drink just as much as the other two I partook in. While we enjoyed ourselves this time sitting on two of the comfiest seats imaginable in the corner of their coffee shop, we took in each other's company and the vibes of one of the Emerald City's sparkling new gems of the many coffee establishments that dot the city. I cannot wait to return to try more of their seasonal beverages and accompanying sweet and savory pastries. You may have the desire to "take your conversation offline" but with as fine as beverages they create at Offline Coffee you will always be satisfied no matter the drink you order. read more

I talked with a regular and they said they've been trading with other people when they come- I think that is a cute and unique way Offline seems to be building a community. I met one of the owners and we talked for a while about their story, and how Seattle is growing in good ways. They were genuine, friendly, and seemed interested in who their customers are. Came back here on a return visit with the bestie and decided to redeem the BOGO coupon inside the red envelope I got during their tanghulu promotion last month! Since this visit, they have renamed their Chinese coconut latte to the yezi latte due to confusion of the coconut flavoring used according to this place's IG page. Place is still crowded with lines and seats are still filled to the brim. Staff was quick in applying the coupon. For this visit we got two drinks that were on opposite ends on the satisfaction spectrum: - Orange osmanthus latte: on one end is this drink that my bestie got. Osmanthus tea is strong in this one but there was hardly any orange flavoring in it. - Black sesame vienna: this drink is going away today sadly! Great blend of espresso, milk, and a thick black sesame cream that paired so well together! This is one of those drinks that make black sesame one of my favorites to have in a drink. Even though I did tack off one star for this visit because of the orange osmanthus, this won't deter me from coming back at all. To get here, street parking will definitely be your best bet and you may have to circle around for a bit before you find a spot. Inside, they have a modern and cozy interior with about 6-7 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a great selection of coffee and matcha drinks to choose from. I stopped by during Offline Coffee Company's soft opening on Friday 2/13/26. I really wrestled between 4 and 5 stars, but rounded to 5. Open daily 8am-4pm. Expect a challenge for street parking, because it's Capitol Hill and it's along a residential street with dense apartments and condos. Pleasant interior layout around the periphery of the cafe, but smallish. With the laptop crowd, there was no seating with 2 tops & banquettes, cozy nook, or the communal table. Limited bench seating on the sidewalk. Loved the pops of color from the fresh flowers and merch. Merch included unique cups, bowls, chopstick holders, stickers, small art prints, maple black sesame syrup, and matcha whisks. The cafe was well staffed, but there was a wait in line to order, then additional wait time to receive one's beverage order(s). No available seating during my visit, so I sat briefly on an outside sidewalk bench until it just got too cold and started to drizzle. There were very few pastries left in the case by cafe's POS register. One of the owners said they've been busy since opening this morning. Definitely the cafe was well received by the neighborhood and the under 30 demographic. I ordered a large hot orange osmanthus latte. With tax & tip, it was over $10! Thankfully it was distinctive and tasty, as one of their featured signature beverages. Driving back north from Capitol Hill then Ballard, I noticed that the "large" beverage did not have much heft as I sipped it. So when I got home, I measured out 12oz tap water and filled my empty cup. This felt heavier than the original hot beverage purchased. So please note, a large from Offline Coffee Company equals 12oz and not 16oz as with other indie cafes. Not much volume accounting for the milk foam. I am glad to check out and support an indie, Asian & women owned cafe (congrats Krystal and Lucy!). Great timing too during Lunar New Year. The space is minimal, cozy, spotless, and incredibly well kept. Perfectly located in the cozier part of capitol hill just a block away from Harry's, this is the spot to go to after your brunch or before dinner or during your walk for good vibes. There's plenty of seating inside and outside, and every detail, from the décor to the cups and packaging, feels cohesive and on-brand in the cutest way. I also love that they offer both savory and sweet pastries. The pork barbecue bun was fresh and flavorful. The drink menu is also exciting because they even feature upcoming items with photos, which makes you anticipate and want to come back. I ended up getting the staff recommended latte with banana bread foam (since the matcha had a 30-minute wait due to a large crowd) which was really considerate of the staff in making sure I got to try the banana foam, i appreciate the flexibility and the hospitality. The banana foam flavor was on a lighter side and not overly sweet, overall super smooth and easy to drink. My friend got the chinese coconut latte with alt milk which was delicious as well! Fascinated by the asian-inspired menu of tantilizing beverages, I finally unplugged from work long enough to get offline at Offline. This place is so cozy and spacious, if you're lucky enough to find a parking spot or can light rail your way over here, a paradise for the studious introvert awaits you. The second you walk in you'll feel a wave of calm wash over you with carefully curated design and loungey furniture, a long community table, and free WiFi. I wish I could say I was as impressed by the beverages, but unfortunately those fell rather short for me. I got the osmanthus orange latte which had very little in the way of orange and the only osmanthus was a kind of dusty bitter florality that betrays the best qualities of well-prepared osmanthus. I also tried the huamei sparkling water but it needed a more concentrated flavor as it was too watered down to be more than a LaCrouix-esque perfume of flavors. I will say the service was warm but calming and the pineapple custard bun was good. It seems the matcha drinks are perhaps better from what my friends tell me but that's not my jam so maybe stick to those. read more

I stopped by offline about a month after their opening. They're still in soft opening mode. First off, parking is pretty difficult in the area as it's very residential and offline is the only food/drink shop in the area. Second, I appreciate that their menu has a Chinese influence especially since there's been a boom in Vietnamese coffee shops. I tried their three signature drinks to gauge my review. yuzu maple montblanc (cold brew): I honestly didn't know what I was drinking. The flavors that are in the name didn't really come through and this was my least favorite drink. I would not order this. Chinese coconut latte: I learned this drink is essentially a shot of espresso with the famous Chinese coconut palm lady drink. Unfortunately, I didn't really taste any coconut and this ended up being a plain latte. orange osmanthus latte: this was the star of the order and maybe the go to drink for offline. There's a nice osmanthus flavor with an essence of citrus. Unlike other shops that have osmanthus drinks, offline has the flavor within the drink and not just dry flowers on the top. Overall, I appreciate the new concept and cool interiors but I thought it was just okay. I definitely hope to see more competition in this space. I have been looking forward to trying this place out since it was Chinese inspired flavors which you don't really see often. I think the drinks were okay. Me and my friends got three different drinks and my favorite was definitely the osmanthus latte. It had its light floral notes with its bitter coffee flavors, and I thought that paired really nicely. I love that there is now a Chinese-inspired coffee shop in Cap Hill! I've stumbled upon so many Vietnamese-inspired cafes and it makes me happy that there's a Chinese one now. I got the banana bread matcha latte. The flavor is all in the cream top, but does get diluted after you mix it with the matcha. The matcha flavor also isn't the strongest, but one thing to note is that oat milk is the default milk and it's not too sweet! My friend got the osmanthus matcha latte and noted that it was a good balance of matcha and floral. We didn't get to sit inside since it was so crowded with this grand opening, but there were tables and many people chatting and/or studying inside. A very cute place, and despite it being busy, the line moved pretty quickly and the wait for our drinks was about 15-20 min after ordering. The prices are pretty steep, $8 for a 8oz and $9 for a 12oz matcha. There are also 1-2 benches outside. I would love to come back and try their coffee. Parking is street parking only and it's on a pretty busy street in Cap Hill. It's not the closest to light rail or public transportation, so getting here may be a little tricky. read more

Service is super fast and friendly, and the only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is it was so crowded it was hard to hear myself think or enjoy the atmosphere as much as I would want to. Fairly new coffee shop up north of SLU/Capitol Hill. It is in a fairly residential area with very limited transit options running through, but also very unwalkable with the hills while parking is extremely challenging even on Sunday. However, there was still a line out the door, so despite all the inconvenience of a location, people like me would go out of the way to come here since it's one of the better places. I liked that this place is Chinese inspired based on the drinks and decor. We got the banana bread matcha latte and yuzu maple montblanc which was a creamy cold brew. Both drinks hit the spot and have good aesthetic. It's a bit on the higher price as we spent almost $20 for just 2 drinks, but it's above average in portion size. I stopped by for their soft opening. While I had a positive experience, there is room for improvement. Parking is very limited due to street parking only, but fortunately it did not take us too long to find a spot. The cafe interior is small but well decorated. They did a great job designing the interior to maximize seating while keeping a cozy aesthetic. If you are looking to work/study here, just know that not all the seating areas have an outlet. I was really excited to try their Chinese inspired drinks because it's a unique concept that other cafes haven't picked up on yet. Between my boyfriend and I, we got 4 drinks to try: yuzu maple montblanc, coconut coffee, osmanthus matcha, and their tanghulu special. Overall, the coffee/matcha bases were not strong enough for our preferences, but the flavorings were pretty good (for the most part). My boyfriend thought the coconut latte just tasted like a weak coffee and this was the worst drink out of the 4 because the coconut flavor did not come through at all. I liked the yuzu montblanc topping because of the bright citrus notes, but found the coffee itself to be lacking. The osmanthus matcha was my personal favorite. It was beautifully fragrant and balanced with the matcha flavor, but I would prefer a stronger matcha personally. The tanghulu special was fun to try, especially if you enjoy the flavor of haw flakes. The raspberry croissant had beautiful lamination, but it's served cold so you don't get the crispiness of the layers at all. Based on everything we ordered, I thought everything was okay, with the osmanthus matcha being above average. Overall, Offline Coffee does a nice job with their Chinese-inspired drink flavors and is worth trying if you want to experience different flavors. However, if you prefer strong coffee/matcha, you will likely find their drinks to be underwhelming. The matcha flavor wasn't top tier but definitely good enough to appreciate the drink. Sweetness was perfect. Loved seeing how the owners chose to present the ambience with their own personal touches, it's a nice place to work at on a weekday when there's not a huge rush. I will start with the positives. It is a very cute shop and a very well-decorated interior. The staff was helpful and very kind, answered every question we had. Unfortunately, where I think Offline fell short with the drinks we got. My friend and I both got the Chinese Coconut Latte and we were very disappointed. For a 16 oz drink that is almost $10 (no creme top, just espresso and coconut milk), the flavors were just not there. The coconut flavor was a little too subtle and I felt as if the espresso that they used had a strong taste that didn't pair all that well with the coconut. I will probably come back to try the black sesame drink (it looks really yummy!) but the prices and the coffee did disappoint us. This shop is very cute! Located in a quieter, more residential part of Capitol Hill. It was very busy. For how busy it was, the shop needs to be larger. They often had lines out the door and it was hard to find a seat. Even harder was the noise volume because it was so crowded on a Saturday mid-morning. It was sometimes hard to hold a conversation because of how loud it got. Maybe this will improve if the hype dies down. Service was super kind at the register. Sort of a bummer that prices aren't that transparent so I included a pic of my digital receipt. They do list prices on a paper menu but not on their blue main menu in the shop. BBQ pork bun was great, like what you get at dim sum. Orange osmanthus latte was not very sweet and had a bright flavor from the orange. Not sure what osmanthus tastes like tbh to be able to call that flavor out. Banana bread matcha was delicious! The foam really did taste like banana bread and I found it did not compete with the matcha flavor either, so I got a good mix of both flavors once the foam mixed in. Matcha was also not very sweet! They had lots of art on sale. Bring your quarters for the art print machine! Overall, I liked this place and thought the food and drinks were great. It is expensive and busy.
