The coffee here is superb. It has great flavor and made to perfection. The staff were very friendly and the coffeehouse is a good place to get some work done or socialize with a friend. I really enjoy this coffee shop.

Cute coffee shop! Here you'll find lots of Madrona locals looking to drink coffee, work remotely and in true Seattleite fashion, not say a word to anyone else. But that's why we love it! Coffee was good, service was speedy and the vibes were cozy. I got their root beer + espresso drink - call me crazy, but it was actually so good. I'll be back!

Cardamom Tonic

This place doesn't look like much from the outside (we almost missed it), but it is quite lovely inside! The menu is very inventive (there are egg creams and tonics in addition to coffee). The baristas were quite personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We decided on the cardamom tonic and got decaf (because it was after 2pm). The espresso floated on the tonic and looked incredible. And when mixed together, it was so refreshing!

Coffee and breakfast sammy

Glad we tried it despite the average reviews. The coffee special with orange something was delicious and hot and actually served in a mug. Yeah, since the pandemic I've had to specially request mugs!! The breakfast Sammy was also delicious, the egg cooked like a frittata and the croissant hot and spot on. I'd come back again! Friendly staff as well.

8 small tables inside

Excellent strong coffee (I had an oat latte). Decent seating (I counted eight 2-seat tables inside, and there are a couple more outside). Good music (LCD Soundsystem was in the mix). Busy but not overwhelmingly (I went Tuesday mid-morning).

I absolutely love th8s place. Drinks are fab, good is delightful ~customer service is wonderful. Repeat customer

Weirdly cold crumbly filling inside a hot flaky croissant not remotely worth $13
Mo K.

Mixed up coffee order. Rather rude, stressed barista who is not in sync with the person taking orders. Cold croissant sandwich that is grossly overpriced for what you get. We had hoped this would be a neighborhood go-to, but it won't be.

Two Air Plants, air plant spray, and a grande latte.

There's good coffee, there's plants and plant gear FOR SALE, and the baristas play punk. New favorite place!

London Fog Description

I've been a customer for over a year now since I work across the street and I always order the same thing, a Seattle fog. If you don't know what a Seattle fog is, it is essentially a London fog (earl grey, milk, sweetener) but with cinnamon in it. Now today when I ordered the tea, I noticed it was much blander than usual but I thought maybe this barista doesn't make it as well as the person who usually makes it for me. However, as I continue to drink it I realize that there is no teabag in it, which there has always been one when I've ordered it. So I go back on my next break to tell him that I think he forgot to put my teabag in there and he insisted that there was tea in there and no teabag comes with it. I told him that when I had ordered it before it always came with a teabag and that it was bland. Now he's saying you must've gotten the London fog, that one comes with a teabag and the Seattle fog doesn't. Now I know he is just trying gaslight me and not refund/remake my drink. Not only have I been told multiple times by other baristas there that the two drinks are exactly the same but just has extra stuff in it, but I have also ordered both before and I know they come with teabags. Worst of all he is the manager so there is nothing else I can do. So I leave to go back to work knowing I just payed $7 for a 12oz tea that ended up just not having the main ingredient in it. I will be going solely to hi spot cafe from now on and will make sure to tell my coworkers what happened to me, as many of us go there. Good luck

Similar to other reviews I think the largest mr wests are better! Their website online is deceiving as it shows they offer a full menu of food, this location offers 3 food options and coffee and that's it. I thought they would have much more as their website shows that they do. This one also was very VERY small, like 5 tables that comfortably sit 1. Two people could not work on one table with two laptops very easily. It was very expensive (but not surprised) about $23 after tax & tip for a croissant sandwich and an almond milk vanilla latte. Parking in the area isn't super great either bc it's a busy area & it's all 2-hour parking (just for those curious, that does not affect my review.) The staff were all really nice tho! But I came with 2 friends to work for like 4-5 hours & we had to use 3 tables unfortunately bc they were so small. We likely won't come back to this location, but will stick with the UVil! But that's because we came to work; if I was in the area and not planning on hanging out I would probably come back to grab a coffee.

Apple cider and avocado toast

Great experience. Cute little shop with good options. Had avocado toast and seasonal apple cider.

Pastry selection on a Saturday morning.

Great coffee, pastries uninviting! Would love to see scones and some savory items. Not much to pick from if you come 10:30/11:00am.ł

CAGETTE WINE BAR: WHERE CABERNET MEETS CABLE CROSSES…read more Listen, while other wine bars in Madison Valley are busy being pretentious about their French pronouns, Cagette has transformed itself into the Gold's Gym of grape juice. Their sommelier doesn't just wear a tastevin around his neck - he wears it WITH A WEIGHTLIFTING BELT. The wall of vintage Gold's Gym Venice Beach photos mixed with First Growth Bordeaux bottles is nothing short of INSPIRATIONAL. Arnold's famous posed double bicep shot is perfectly positioned between the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Barolo section, creating what they call the "Pump & Pour" corner. Their wine flights are served on custom metal trays shaped like weight plates. The "Franco Columbu Collection" of Italian reds arrives on a mini bench press rack, and you have to complete three reps before they'll pour your Brunello. The dedication to the aesthetic is STAGGERING. You haven't lived until you've experienced their "Muscle Beach Merlot Mondays" where the sommelier spots you through a vertical tasting while shouting encouragement like "LIGHTWEIGHT BABY" and "AIN'T NOTHING BUT A PEANUT" between sips. Their wine descriptions include both tasting notes AND the optimal rep range for maximum gains. The "Lou Ferrigno Lounge" area features leather seats made from recycled weightlifting belts, and every wine glass has grip knurling. Their coasters are miniature versions of the original Gold's Gym logo, and they refuse to serve anything less than full-bodied wines because "light wines are for WIMPS." Their "Pumping Iron" wine club (which meets in what they call The Dungeon, a clear homage to the original Gold's basement) requires members to deadlift their wine allocation before taking it home. The sight of someone clean-and-jerking a case of Grand Cru Burgundy is both terrifying and beautiful. Five stars for creating a space where wine snobs and gym bros can finally coexist in perfect harmony. I've witnessed heated debates about both proper squat form AND proper wine storage temperature, often in the same conversation. P.S. Their "No Pain No Pour" policy seems strict, but you haven't lived until you've seen someone do burpees for a better pour of Barolo. P.P.S. The bathroom mirrors are positioned at optimal flexing angles, and the hand soap dispensers are shaped like dumbbells. ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Note: This review was written while watching their sommelier demonstrate proper clean-and-jerk form using a methuselah of champagne as a training weight. Special Addendum: To the customer who complained about the mandatory flex pose before entering the reserve wine room - this is about CULTURE, Karen. Final Thought: Never has there been a more perfect fusion of fine wine and fitness culture. It's like if Joe Weider opened a wine bar and Franco Columbu was the beverage director. Remember: Every wine glass comes with its own "PR" (Personal Record) tracking card, and yes, they do measure your wine lifting form. No kipping allowed on the Bordeaux pulls. Warning: Side effects may include excessive use of phrases like "crushing it," "lightweight baby," and "yeah buddy" while discussing vintage vertical tastings. P.P.P.S. Their new "Swole Somm Certification" program requires both blind tasting skills AND a minimum bench press requirement. As it should.

Had an awesome dinner at Communion last Sunday. Parking was challenging to say the least. There was…read morean underground parking lot across the street but it belongs to the apartment building apparently so we had to find parking several streets away. Started the meal with Sweet Potato Hoe Cake. This had cornbread like texture but felt softer, smoother, quite moist with a sweet honey butter syrup base. BBQ Shrimp tasted out of this world delicious: very fresh head/tail on shrimp cooking in garlic butter, Metier coconut porter. The good to the last drop sauce had bold flavors although quite salty, just perfect for dipping the focaccia in. Unc's Wing was equally endearing: rubbed in a 13-spice blend, with perfect crispness and plump, juicy flesh beneath the coating. Butter-basted cabbage was a rare treat: basted with butter that accentuates the sweetness of caramelized cabbage. Miso butter sauce a great match. The drink I ordered was less intriguing: Kinfolk (bourbon, Jamaican, rum, Cynar, and pecan liqueur) was bourbon heavy, very balanced nonetheless just not memorable. The chocolate truffle was the only item we did not enjoy: it had hard shell and very dense filling.

We probably could have gotten another serving. We had to send our chicken wings back because it has blood look on the bone. The server stated it is cooked to temperature. I like my chicken done with no blood. I did like the small intimate setting. It would be nice for a date.
