    Special peanut butter noodles

Very very good rice noodles. The texture and hold of the noodles are impressive. Taste delicious, a little pricier but the quality makes up for it

Stopped in here for lunch on a whim. There's plenty of seating, which is nice since it doesn't feel cramped even when it starts to fill up. The place draws a steady crowd, so we figured it was worth a try. We ordered two rice noodle dishes, a congee, and the curry combo. The curry was actually pretty tasty and had a lot of pig skin in it, which was a nice surprise. The rest of the food was just okay though, and for the price it felt a little underwhelming. I'm glad I gave it a shot, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.

Congee with pork & century egg - Ok La

A solid 4 on food. Decor/ambiance - 3/5 (the front is a little messy when the aunties have carts all over... Food - 4/5 Service - minimal interaction Food is good, we love their churn fun but we find it out very odd.. that it's not pre-cut.. for easy eating. You have to use your chopsticks & spoon combo to tear it up... spilling the stuffings. So you're either taking a bite of just the rice noodle solo... or fill-in-the-blank stuffing solo... hard to eat as a combo. I don't remember if the other locations make it like this... but wow... hopefully Markham location was not... lol all the churn is solid. Congee - Jook was ok. The soy sauce fried noodle was also just ok. Not very "wok-hay" taste... wouldn't get if not necessary. Drinks - must get the ICE HK milk tea both regular and one sweeten with condensed milk. Simply delicious! #brooklyneats

Take out congee milk tea and rice noodles

I get it, it's new, the hype is there and when you see lines on the weekend you must think it's good. Sadly no. Service was good, kind cashier notified me there would be a 25 minutes wait for take out so I figured why not? Milk tea - excellent I would get again Congee - pork and fermented duck egg - good consistency but you can get cheaper in the bakery (it's 86th street everything is cheaper except for this place) Cherng fun - this is what they're known for; but why the hefty price ? It's good but when it comes to competition you have Cherng fun everywhere - even dim sum places are cheaper.

Beef and shrimp cheurng fun / rice roll. Noodle is not great

Honestly; more like a 2.5, but giving a 3 because the service was friendly. The place opens at 8am, in case you're wondering. They have multiple branches and apparently all are popular. My mom has tried the one in Chinatown and warned me it wasn't great either. TLDR; I don't think their cheurng fun is worth the hefty prices. You do get some solid fillings, but for the cost; it's a bit appalling. What did I get: - silky blood jelly congee (duck blood btw): texture was fine but it tasted like they didn't add salt. Mind you, I don't like overly salty foods. It tasted very homemade but in a way that no one took the time to make it taste good. $9 - plain cheurng fun: this is basic of basics. The noodles are a bit thick and are not silky. They reminded me of the supermarket packaged wide rice noodle texture. $5. - fish cheurng fun: you get a few chunks of filleted white fish; about 5 and some lettuce (I don't know why they added lettuce). Same bad cheurng fun noodle $9 - beef and shrimp cheurng fun: got three big sized shrimp and few pieces of beef. Again, lettuce for some odd reason, is added in there (like whole leaf, not cut up) and bad noodle. $8-9 (forgot which) They put all the toppings in one big cheurng fun and under it are plain rice noodles, so don't be fooled. Highly unimpressed, but at least the staff are nice.

We absolutely love rice noodles and have tried many different places in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Since we were in the area, we decided to give this restaurant a try. It was quite packed, so we opted for takeout. The place was clean and had plenty of tables. We ordered our usual beef rice noodles to see if this could become our go-to spot. However, the wait was twenty minutes for just one order, and we even had to remind the waitress that we were still waiting. The dish was quite small for $9. Yin Ji charges tax whether you pay in cash or by credit card, and there's an additional credit card fee. Unfortunately, the dish did not meet our expectations. The beef rice noodles tasted more like beef chow mein with lettuce. The rice noodles were thick. The beef was somewhat flavored. It didn't have the traditional flavor nor taste you usually get at bakeries or Chinese restaurants. Maybe this is what makes the place unique, but it just wasn't our cup of tea.

New breakfast/lunch Chinese place in the 86th street area. Their service is so good. We ordered from them twice. The first time, they accidentally gave our food to someone us so they gave us complimentary fish balls and cold milk teas as an apology for the wait. Their cold milk teas are premade and cooled, so they're not watered down by ice. The second time, I ordered milk teas to go, and while I was waiting, one of the employees brought me a cup of water. Their food and drinks are great, but their service is amazing, which makes me want to come again.

The waitress is not good service at all!

The food is good, but the price is very high, the waitress (a skinny guy) attitude is very bad. I ordered total $55 for breakfast. And I Just ask for a small service request. He give me an angry attitude and reject to do the service for me. I feel so angry. it is not the first time they give bad attitude.

    black truffle mushroom rice roll

Everything was amazing! The rice rolls were soft and flavorful, and the fillings were super generous. I also ordered the congee, and it was thick and rich--just the way I like it. The portions of meat were more than expected, which was a nice surprise. Service was fast and efficient, and the staff were polite and attentive. Great experience overall, I'll definitely be back!

Wtf is this? Ordered a congee , rice roll and 2drink for $32. Pay 32dollar and you guy cant even give a bit more sauce?if you guy think this is normal let me know

ordered takeout and requested no scallion and no cilantro twice, but was still added on the congee!!!!

    Hong Kong Milk Tea

Came in here to try the plain rice noodle with the peanut and hoisin sauce with the HK milk tea. I have to give it 5 out of 5 cause the noodle was chewy and the tea is excellent. I will come back for round 2 and try other stuff.

The menu also says it comes with house special dessert but we never gotten any. For any seafood, it's market price plus they add a 30% processing fee, which is strange to me. For a Chinese restaurant which usually does not charge tax if you pay with cash, they charge tax here whether you pay by card or cash. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious. We went straight for their signature deep fried garlic chicken and decided to share the Peking duck--and both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with incredible flavor. The Peking duck was equally impressive, cooked perfectly with rich, satisfying taste in every bite. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into both quality and presentation. Uncle Lou is a Cantonese restaurant that also serve Dim Sum dishes. The business name reference Chinese culture of calling adults "uncle" (suk1 suk1, 叔叔) or "auntie" (aa3 ji4, 阿姨) is a polite, common way to show respect, build connection, and bridge generational gaps. It treats non-relatives like family, making strangers feel younger and fostering closeness. The atmospheric decor contains very beautiful Chinese lanterns suspended from the ceiling throughout the restaurant. I believe it is decorated for Lunar New Year throughout the entire year. No comment for facility as I did not utilize. Customer service is average attentive and the staff is fluent in both English and Cantonese. I did not have to wait long to be served nor request the bill, and neither attain change. I often dine alone as a single woman and was regarded with respect for patronizing. It is always good to hear Cantonese spoken as it is mellifluous... at long last to continue this vernacular of Chinese language. I ordered in a mixture of both English and Cantonese. I was promptly seated by the maître d' promptly for a table. Melamine/plastic chopsticks in neon green and ceramic / porcelain china including ceramic Chinese soup spoon are distributed to customers while dine-in. A traditional teapot is also distributed during the duration of meal like large banquet hall Dim Sum restaurants. The large round tables contain a rotating lazy susan in traditional Chinese restaurant standard. Wow. No disposable wooden chopsticks and no disposable bowls for utensils are distributed at Uncle Lou. Price is slightly high, but worth the food quality and customer service. Uncle Lou did surely feed me! Shrimp Wonton noodle soup, Ho fun (flat rice noodles), shrimp based broth, $14.95 The bowl is gargantuan and the six (6) dumplings are good size portion served in ceramic / porcelain china. There are Chinese vegetable of one strand choi sam (choy sum) and scallions. The shrimp Wonton dumplings are a good size and good consistency. The soup broth is solid for flavor and consistency. It was served piping hot as steam was visibly emitting. The soup broth was slightly heavy. The flat rice noodles were sufficient for quantity. Noodle soup is Chinese comfort food and warms the heart. It sustained my hunger pangs throughout the day. Upon arrival the wait staff prominently announce to inform customers of 9% discount for cash payment and a 3% additional surcharge or fees for any credit/debit card payment for situational awareness. I was informant and made fully aware twice: upon entry when seated and upon receiving the bill. Uncle Lou complies with "Prohibition of Cashless Establishments, as of March 21, 2026, all retail and food establishments in New York State, including New York City, must accept in-person cash payments, banning fully cashless stores." (source: Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), Local Law 34 of 2020). Oh! For small amounts of purchases, my default payment method is cash. Yes, cash is still widely accepted in the 21st century. Nota Bene: Have cash on hand to avoid annoying surcharge or fees. The bill is calculated and manually handwritten the old school way still a timeless classic. I paid my bill in cash including gratuity. No comment for Apple Pay or Google Wallet (formerly Android Pay/Google Pay) either acceptance or price differential vs. cash.
