wonton and beef brisket noodle soup 雲吞牛腩河
    Ruby C.

After I tried Maxi's, quite a few people recommended Superior Wonton Noodle, so I decided to check it out--especially since it's right in my neighborhood. Are their wontons really better than Maxi's? Quick verdict: their shrimp wontons are truly SUPERIOR, closely on par with Maxi's. I even brought home a dozen frozen ones. However, both the beef brisket and flat rice noodles were underwhelming.  However, I still prefer Maxi's for overall quality, but Superior is more affordable. I'd recommend it if you're in the area. (86 St is my all-time favorite area for authentic Hong Kong food) *Wonton and Beef Brisket Rice Noodle $11 I ordered the same thing I got at Maxi's, and it was a few dollars cheaper here, mainly because you don't have to pay extra for the beef brisket. The wonton was about the size of a ping pong, generously stuffed with shrimp and pork filling. The shrimp was bouncy, while the wonton skin was not too thick. Unfortunately, the beef brisket was quite tough, so I didn't finish it. I'll probably try the beef tendon next time... The flat rice noodles were a letdown--they were so soggy and mushy that I had to use a spoon to scoop them up. Meanwhile, my boyfriend got the thick egg noodles, and they looked much better with a springy texture.

Mostly women run this charming place! Everyone was super friendly. My son gave high-fives to all the staff on the way out. Food was great! I soaked the fish skin in the amazing noodle soup. I shared my noodle soup with my son, and we were stuffed. We wish we had a place like this nearby.

It's a good wonton with plenty of filling and the chili crisps were a nice touch. Just felt like the broth was a little lacking and overall was just missing something that put them a bit behind Maxi's.

Best wanton noodles!! Come here to eat all the time and never get sick of it!! The fishball are big and bouncy!! And the wonton are big filled with shrimp!! And they give enough noodles and vegetables . The best part is the Chili oil!! Chili oil was the best part for me goes so well with the wanton noodle!

I used to walk right by this place since it opened because $9 for a bowl of wonton noodle soup seemed steep compared to the $7 max at other Chinese spots in the neighborhood. But I finally decided to give it a try and realized I've been missing out. The wontons are huge, and so are the fish balls. They're not the typical packaged, fried kind; these are giant, handmade fish paste balls. You can also skip the noodles and just get wontons and fish balls in soup (instead of noodles they just seem to give you extra wontons) if you're avoiding carbs - it's a great post-workout protein fix. Only thing to consider is that they have a $20 minimum on credit card

We visited Superior Wonton because we hoped that they would be a Brooklyn equivalent for Maxi's Noodles in Queens, NY. Unfortunately, they weren't. We ordered a two-topping noodles in soup for take-out -- wontons, beef brisket, and thin egg noodles. The wontons were OK, but they lacked a crisp found with fresher ingredients. The beef brisket was good; soft and fall-away, but a thin slice. The thin egg noodles were surprisingly bad in a manner difficult to describe -- perhaps too alkaline. This issue was probably a one-off considering the other reviews, but it was disappointing nonetheless.

A small mom-and-pop noodle spot on 86th Street between Bay Parkway and 21st Ave. If you ever lived or visited Hong Kong, you would know that wonton and wonton noodles are a big part of the culture. It's quick, inexpensive, and satisfying! The menu is simple with a lot of mix and match options, which I really like. We wanted to try everything but went for the Signature Four Topping Soup, which came with Wonton, Fish Ball, Sliced Beef, and Pork Liver. This dish is weightlifter's dream - packed with protein. The Wonton is ginormous and packed with a large shrimp, meat, and flavor. The Fish Ball is bouncy and tender. We also shared a noodle with meat sauce (no soup). The sauce was light and delicious and went perfectly with all the meat. I didn't try the wonton noodles, but my nephew had it, and he said it was really good. The HK style Lemon Tea and Milk Tea are the BEST here with the right amount of sweetness and noticeable English tea taste. Quick and friendly service. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the Bath Beach/Bensonhurst area.

They ran out of beef brisket sadly. wontons were load with shrimp. soup delicious. beef tendons. thin eggs noodles al dente. really really good... i will be back to try the beef brisket.

The Hong Kong milk tea here is perfect and super satisfying. I ordered the supreme wonton and it had fish balls, massive wontons, and the most tender beef. We also had the fried fish skin and the curry fish ball. The fried fish skin was not good, I wouldn't recommend at all. The curry fish ball was good and has a good amount of kick. I couldn't finish the supreme wonton cuz it was so massive. The wonton was the largest I've seen in a wonton noodle soup. There were some things that definitely was annoying though - they seemed to really not want to give me a proper to go box and said if they give me the takeout bowl it'll be an extra 50 cents which I thought was odd. They also originally gave me a flat takeout box typically for rice or dry noodles. They also don't seem to serve you water here so I guess order a drink. There's a restroom but I didn't use it. Overall I would come back and get the milk tea and maybe a smaller wonton noodle soup in the future

I came here right after work and the place was not filled yet. The place was kept clean. I wanted to have the hk milk tea but they ran out. I think the service here was great but i wasn't crazy about the wonton noodles. My friend and I both felt the same way. The texture of the noodle was great, but something missing in the flavor.

Came here with my husband a while back when they first open but forgot to review. A fellow Yelper Mei C was talking about this the other day and I remember I had taken photos. After a long scroll down memory lane in my photos, I finally found these photos. We ordered the seasonal veggie dish and 2 bowls of their noodle soups. We selected N2. Three Toppings Noodles. I picked Fishballs, beef brisket, and sliced beef. My husband picked wontons, fishballs and beef brisket. The homemade fishballs are huge and unexpected!!! I was unable to try the wontons as I'm allergic to shrimp. The soup and noodles were good. Cheap, generous portion, fulfilling and quick service.

It's sooo freaking good! Best wontons I've ever had!!! It is a bit overpriced for a noodle soup or just wontons in general, but I've been craving it for a while. Will come back the next time I crave it!

    Joanne H.

Good service. They do not require tipping when eating in. Wonton is fresh and home made right in front of you. Looks like this is a family business. Very Hong Kong style restaurant. If you order take out, they pack everything separately, so that the noodle will stay chewy when you eat at home or wherever you would like.

I asked to sub rice for noodles because one of my kids is a rice pot (can't go without rice) and requested extra sauce, which they kindly provided. The set meals are a fantastic deal; a full size entree, an appetizer and a drink for $19-20. An extra order of noodles is $2.50 and it's really double the amount of noodles that comes in your entree. I also ordered their new dish with has abalone and sea cucumber; this is not part of a set meal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has that umami sweetness that comes from a great soup base and the noodles are delicious as usual. The abalone was tender, the sea cucumber had a bite to it. The broth was incredibly flavorful, the steak was cooked perfectly, the egg was beautifully seasoned, and the shoestring potatoes added such a great crunch.
