Very good spot-- came for Chinese new year w some friends and it did NOT disappoint. The bbq pork buns and the beef chow fun were solid, but I'd want to try other items! Need a veggie always and the eggplant twas swell Friendly waitstaff and lovely ambience. Cheers!

We had to order a bowl of white rice for this salty dish.

After a show, my Mom and I went around the corner to Dim Sum Palace, on 2nd Ave, to have an early dinner. We were starvin' like Marvin, and I ordered a lot of dishes. The service was excellent - we were supposed to have 1 more guest. They seated us first and did not make us wait. The decor is nice - love the beautiful design on the cups and dishes. The ribs and the house special were a little bit disappointing, but my favorite seafood dim sum and the duck were delicious. I would go back if I were in the neighborhood!

Cozy dimsum spot, no carts but every dish was made fresh. We got a bunch of stuffs and Chicken Feet, Custard Buns, Congee, and Taro Dumplings stood out. I'd skip the XLB cause the wrapping was very thick. Bring a crowd so you can try more!

Been to the other location near theatre district was in a basement. Weird at first and thought hmm is it good, and it was. So tried this location and realized there's a bunch more. Standard dim sum fare with full dinner menu available. Key is hot and burning hot steamed items. And they didn't disappoint. No rush, friendly service. Will be back.

Favorite dim sum in the city. Have come more times than I can count and to different locations throughout the city but most frequently East Village. Food is great and comes out very quickly. Menu is super affordable. I like the BBQ pork buns (my favorite), the scallion pancakes, duck egg rolls, shu mai, pan fried and soup dumplings. I also like the green balls with the bean paste in them for dessert.

If you're hunting for dim sum after normal brunch hours, Dim Sum Palace could be your spot. This low key restaurant's kitchen churns out great dim sum classics past the normal dim sum window of like, 2pm. In fact, you have until 10:30pm most nights to get your dumpling fix here in the East Village. While the no frills ambience isn't anything to write home about, it's the food most of us are there for. It's all about those steaming parcels of joy that hit better than any 3am delivery order, at least speaking for myself. Their turnip cakes have great char flavor. The veggie dumplings are for your meat-free or meat eating friends alike. And if you don't at least get an order of the shrimp rice noodle rolls, have you even dim summed? And we can't forget about my fave dim sum dish, the har gow. Always my go-to dim sum order. Dim Sum Palace also comes through with the stir-fried rice noodle game - their wide rice noodles with seafood has great wok flavor. And you can never go wrong with some scallion pancake action, unless you hate fun. You can also rent out their small private dining room for about 15 or so folks. You'll probably want to bring your own decorations to jazz up the space, but it's nice to know there's an option (there's probably a minimum spend requirement. Inquire within). It's not the best dim sum I've ever had, but at the end of the day, Dim Sum Palace checks all the boxes for anytime dim sum satisfaction without having to hoof it to Chinatown. Just be ready to ignore the nothing-to-write-home-about decor and let those flavors speak for themselves.

The restaurant has a intimate feel with dim lighting and white tablecloth. My party was personally served by the owner, Mr. Tam who provided warm and genuine service. The prices on the menu are higher than what you normally see but overall the quality justifies the price. Except for the Phoenix feet which was a bit dry, the other dishes were so good, it could belong in a high end restaurant in China and Hong Kong. The beef chow fun had a tremendous amount of wok hei (breath of wok) and the beef was so tender. The owner was humble saying his chefs are lacking compared with chefs in Hong Kong and China, but the chefs at Dim Sum Palace belong in the top echelon. This is definitely a place for a nice meal if you want high quality dim sum and Cantonese food.

Phenomenal customer service here!! Food is slightly small portion size but taste was good too. Great place for group dinners. We had a group of 12 and it was perfect

Came in right at 11A on a Tuesday because we are tourists hehe. They greeted and welcomed us, then seated us accommodating with our baby and stroller. Their dim sum selections vary from the signature shu mai and shrimp dumplings to more adventurous shredded duck dumplings. We decided to order an assorted tray of dumplings, a few new items and the OG choices. Every single item we ordered was amazing! It was so extremely fresh and tasty! I recommend: anything you want to try lol. But do get the crispy pork ribs, so good with some white rice. Their crabmeat soup dumplings were tender and flavorful. I mean it was just everything I desired in a dim sum palace! They definitely got their name right. Plenty of room and love the ambiance of exposed brick. Just a clean look and feel while you have their delicious dishes. Thank you!

Husband had to have some Dim Sum on our visit back to his old stomping grounds. Sadly, the smell when we walked in (it went on to linger) was like someone forgot to take the trash out- an unappetizing start. We ordered some of everything: duck, Crystal shrimp dumplings, fried rice, veggie spring rolls. Everything was pretty good, nothing outstanding. Bonus points: food was screaming hot, fresh out the grease, like I like! Lots of space if you have a crowd. Service was great, no issues there. I'd say give it a go if you have a hankering. Two word review: chili oil.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

It's also nicely decorated, which makes you feel like you're in China. It's definitely for a younger crowd with how loud this place gets. Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
