哇！我吃饱了！ The scallion cake was aight -- ode oily, to the point where the grease muted the flavor of the onion itself Xia Long Bao was super good tho, wrapper could benefit from being a little thinner but the actual soup itself was incredibly rich and balanced. The duck dumplings go BONKERS fr -- though I'm not the biggest fan of the gummy rice wrappers on dim sum, the actual duck meat itself was nothing short of mesmerizing. The small cubes of meat were incredibly tender and maintained the perfect ratio of fattiness to flesh, all enveloped in a rich brown sauce. Oh the goddamn Jiu Cai Jiao dumpling was a sleeper pick --, the succulent shrimp was starkly contrasted by the eye widening bright freshness of the chives. Like biting into a rain forest. The general Tso (yeah I ordered gtao suck me, it balances the other fresher and or spicier dishes well when eaten in tandem) was absolutely incredible -- the chicken was primarily breast meat and still managed to be succulent, while the breading itself was paper thing and crisp. The service was excellent - we were supposed to have 1 more guest. They seated us first and did not make us wait. The decor is nice - love the beautiful design on the cups and dishes. If you're hunting for dim sum after normal brunch hours, Dim Sum Palace could be your spot. This low key restaurant's kitchen churns out great dim sum classics past the normal dim sum window of like, 2pm. In fact, you have until 10:30pm most nights to get your dumpling fix here in the East Village. While the no frills ambience isn't anything to write home about, it's the food most of us are there for. It's all about those steaming parcels of joy that hit better than any 3am delivery order, at least speaking for myself. Their turnip cakes have great char flavor. The veggie dumplings are for your meat-free or meat eating friends alike. And if you don't at least get an order of the shrimp rice noodle rolls, have you even dim summed? And we can't forget about my fave dim sum dish, the har gow. Always my go-to dim sum order. Dim Sum Palace also comes through with the stir-fried rice noodle game - their wide rice noodles with seafood has great wok flavor. And you can never go wrong with some scallion pancake action, unless you hate fun. You can also rent out their small private dining room for about 15 or so folks. You'll probably want to bring your own decorations to jazz up the space, but it's nice to know there's an option (there's probably a minimum spend requirement. Inquire within). It's not the best dim sum I've ever had, but at the end of the day, Dim Sum Palace checks all the boxes for anytime dim sum satisfaction without having to hoof it to Chinatown. Just be ready to ignore the nothing-to-write-home-about decor and let those flavors speak for themselves. read more

The restaurant has a intimate feel with dim lighting and white tablecloth. My party was personally served by the owner, Mr. Tam who provided warm and genuine service. The prices on the menu are higher than what you normally see but overall the quality justifies the price. Except for the Phoenix feet which was a bit dry, the other dishes were so good, it could belong in a high end restaurant in China and Hong Kong. The beef chow fun had a tremendous amount of wok hei (breath of wok) and the beef was so tender. The owner was humble saying his chefs are lacking compared with chefs in Hong Kong and China, but the chefs at Dim Sum Palace belong in the top echelon. You can taste the pride in the kitchen. The har gow? Beautiful. Thin wrapper, packed with shrimp, steamed perfectly. The shumai? Very strong. Juicy, well-seasoned, exactly what you want. The BBQ pork buns? Fantastic. Soft and sweet on the outside, rich and savory on the inside. A perfect bite. They keep the carts moving. Everything comes out quick. You don't have to sit there wondering where your dumplings are. They're fast, they're efficient, and the selection is impressive. A lot of options. All done right. The place is clean. Looks sharp. Not trying to be flashy, but very presentable. Tables turn fast but you don't feel rushed. There's a confidence to the operation. It's well run. Now the service. It's fine. It works. But it's not the most attentive. They get the job done but there's not much extra effort. You want water, you ask. You want something else, you point. It's all very basic. Not bad, just not polished. Their dim sum selections vary from the signature shu mai and shrimp dumplings to more adventurous shredded duck dumplings. Sadly, the smell when we walked in (it went on to linger) was like someone forgot to take the trash out- an unappetizing start. We ordered some of everything: duck, Crystal shrimp dumplings, fried rice, veggie spring rolls. Everything was pretty good, nothing outstanding. A menu is at the table, you can mark off how many quantities of food want and then give it to your waiter or waitress. Prices were a little more on the expensive side when it comes to Dim Sum servings familiarity. However, not too crazy at Dim Sum Palace. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the spring rolls. If you order, the serving size is really small. In my opinion, we only ordered 1 order and wouldn't order again. It wasn't worth the price, you can barely taste what's in it aside from the fried portion of the springroll. Our waitress was friendly, always came back to be sure our food was okay, had enough tea in the tea pot and anything else needed. Double check your receipt before you pay. We had the chicken soup dumplings, shu mai, spicy mushroom dumplings, beef rice noodle roll, shredded duck dumplings, and chicken fried rice, all served with a trio of sauces. My friend got the pork soup dumplings, and overall we both really liked how nicely seasoned and juicy they were. I really liked the shu mai and duck dumplings, but the mushroom dumplings and beef rice noodle roll fell short of expectation given how bland they were. The rice noodle also had very little beef. The restaurant isnt very big but there's enough room for two large tables and a decent number of tables for 2 and 4. We ordered around 20 different items and the standouts were the shrimp rice rolls, soup dumplings, beef chow fun, and stir fried turnip cake. The service was generally good but three items never arrived at our table and we had to let the staff know; the food arrived at the end when we were almost at max capacity. Came here for a very casual, last-minute dinner to celebrate one of my best friends' birthdays. I was kind of caught off guard at first because it definitely doesnt give typical dim sum spot, nor is it located in an area where most dim sum restaurants are. I genuinely had to double check to make sure I was at the right location when I arrived because I was convinced I went to the wrong spot. It's modern looking inside, exposed brick and all.. but a little small if you ask me. Our table didn't have the rotating plate so I didn't get many pictures. I ordered two servings of the salt and pepper shrimp, the cucumbers and some white rice. The guys had already eaten salt and pepper squid and dumplings prior to my arrival, for entrees they got the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. The shrimp in my opinion were a really good size but were not fried enough and lacking flavor. Bigger shrimp tend to have tougher tails and you're meant to eat the shell with that particular dish.. it was too tough to chew so I ended up peeling all of them and lost out on most of the seasoning. The cucumbers however, were perfect. No complaints or notes on them. Everyone else devoured the chicken and beef so they must've been good. I'd come here again, but I would want an authentic experience so definitely would have to request a table with the rotating plate. Sometimes Dim Sum spots can be overwhelming with so many families and many waiters bustling. On days when I'm overstimulated but craving dimsum, this is the place to go. Because I was going to watch the musical Chicago in the afternoon, I randomly chose a nearby restaurant on Google Maps, but I didn't expect it to exceed expectations. When I went there at 12:00 noon, the store was already full, so I sat at the counter seats at the beginning (the last two vacant seats in the store, and the people behind started to wait). But the head waiter (?) is a very nice guy, and he helped us move our seats when there was an empty table, even though we had already placed our order by that time. Dishes: Dim sum platter: You can try it for the first time. There will be different varieties of dim sum, but there are one or two I don't like that much, and it's a bit steamed. Garlic Spare Ribs: The most surprising dish, very juicy after one bite Shaomai: delicious! The prawns are very fresh, and I even want to buy another cage to pack back to the village hhh Steamed Chicken Feet: It is very authentic steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce It is worth mentioning that the foreman is really interesting. Seeing that we two girls wanted to pay the bill before finishing the dim sum platter, he even asked us to eat it before paying the bill.
