At this point, I've visited this spot several times. There is nothing bad to say about this restaurant. The peking duck is a must have! This is one of the best if not the best peking duck restaurant I've had in nyc. The other dishes such as char siu, sweet & sour fish, eels were all great. Personally, I wasn't a fan of their jelly fish dish because the pieces were too chunky and no tentacle pieces. The back area's atmosphere was very different from the front area. I felt like I went to a different restaurant lol. The service is alright. It can be a bit slow when it is busy. They have promo every now and then. I highly recommend people to check this out! You know this already, I WILL BE BACK!

Place is organized and their seats are well situated. The staff from the front to server and even the bartender they are all awesome! Really friendly and made the experience relaxing. They have accommodated us even though we are 10mins past our reservation. This place also was also booked during the NYE. So we are glad that we are able to secure our table. The food was really good, love every bite we had aside from one. We had Dim sum Platter, Fried Dim sum, Dan dan noodles, Yong Chuan Fried Rice, Mapo Tofu, and the Duck! The fave of the table were the duck and fried rice. Unfortunately the mapo tofu didn't hit the spot. But aside from that everything was totally worth it!

la zi chicken - yummy and tender but way too may peppers in there. most of the dish was not edible. pea shoots - yummy half duck - standout crispy branzino with pine nuts - was like an orange chicken but with fish which wasn't what i was expecting salted egg yolk shrimp tofu - eh wouldn't get. not super flavorful. from the countryside fire noodle - also not standout but tasty if you want a noodle food was yummy but only the duck is something i'd get again. everything else was fine or not worth the cost. ambiance and service are good. dinner for 6 people was about $45 each and left full but not stuffed and with no leftovers.

This is a tasty newer Chinese spot serving food from Ningbo; which is apparently similar to Shanghainese; and Szechuan food. The inside is a bit nicer compared to many other Chinese spots and the service was friendly and quick. Our group went here because they were doing 40% off Peking Duck and another person I know enjoyed their AYCE Dim Sum as well. The first station that arrived was the Kou Shui Chicken/甬川口水鸡 for $24 listed as spicy Sanhuang chicken, a classic Sichuan cold dish, also known as mouth-watering chicken. I have had this dish at several Sichuan/Szechuan spots before and this version was both unique and excellent. The mala flavor was present from the chili oil and peppercorn along with a bit of saltiness from the douchi/black bean but there was also a stronger flavor of garlic compared to normal. The chicken was tender as well and overall I would highly recommend this. The most unique small plate was the Yellow Croaker Fish Rolls/腐皮黄鱼卷 for $19 listed as deep fried bean curd skin roll with yellow croaker fish filling. The bean curd skin was lightly fried while the inside had light fishiness. It was tasty though not everyone liked it. Also from the small plates and soon arriving was the Crispy Shredded Beef/脆口牛肉丝 for $17 listed as sweet and sour crispy shredded beef. The dish was pretty similar to a sweetened eel I have found in some Shanghai spots with a light fry and a good amount of sweetness. The beef flavor wasn't too present but the texture was nice. Our last smaller plate was going to be the WenZhou fish cake/温州鱼饼 but they were out so we got the Yongchuan Fried Rice/甬川炒饭 as it was the same price at $17 listed as fried rice with sausages & crispy rice. The wok was pretty present but I wish the flavor of the Chinese sausage/lap cheong was a bit stronger. Pretty decent. The main star was the Peking Duck where we got one and a half of them were the half is usually $48 or the whole for $96. Along with the meat, this came with most of the the usual accompaniments (pancake, sauce, cucumber, scallion, the rare but found sugar) but also one unique thing which was some pickled chili. The duck itself was excellent with a good mix of fat and meat and the pancakes were nice and thin. The skin could have been a little bit more crispy but was still very good quality overall. Even without the 40% discount, this was excellent Peking Duck and one of the better ones in recent memory. The Dongpo Pork/东坡肉 for $27 listed as slow cooked pork belly in Shaoxing rice wine was also tasty. The pork belly was cooked down wonderfully with tender meat while the fat was well rendered. This was very tasty and not too overly sweet compared to some places. I would recommend this also. The Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Tofu/咸蛋黄虾仁豆腐 for $25 with braised tofu, shrimp, and egg yolk was good in most ways but not as much in one other. The bits of plump shrimp added a fun texture compared to most versions and the tofu was nice and silky though I would say that the salted egg flavor was a bit lacking compared to some other spots. If said flavor was amped up, this would be excellent though. The Stir Fried Pea Shoots XO/酱豆苗 for $26 were pricey and alright. The pea shoots lacked flavor unless they were topped with some of the XO sauce and there wasn't enough of it to flavor all of said dish. It was OK but I wish the greens themselves had some garlic or something to flavor them. This was fine. Outside of the pea shoots/tofu which had only minor faults, everything was quite tasty. Nice mix of dishes. High rating for the general quality.

Made reservations for their all you can eat dim sum brunch for my mom's birthday on a Saturday. Surprisingly, we probably didn't need the reservation since the place was empty at noon. It's a deceivingly large and more upscale restaurant compared to your typical dim sum place. We were seated immediately and given menus. There is no cart service here. Order each item from the waitress and staff will bring the dim sum items out. Everything we ordered came extremely quickly, and was served hot at fresh. There are even some items not typically available at other dim sum places such as their spicy crayfish dumplings. My favorites were the beef ribs in black pepper sauce as well as the chicken feet. Definitely a place I would return to if I were in the mood for dim sum.

Earlier this year I had the privilege to get a reservation for an early solo dinner after work to take advantage of the peking duck special. Ambiance was intimate and clean. Staff was accommodating and respected the time crunch I had from this dinner to the first Yelp Queens event lol. I ordered the half duck and the portion size is for two people. I ate half and took the other half home. My husband consumed the all the leftovers. I'd definitely would go back as I definitely enjoyed the presentation and the DIY peking duck with crepe.

My mom really wanted to get AYCE dim sum for Mother's Day but unfortunately the place we used to go to in Flushing closed down. But during our search for another spot that offers AYCE dim sum we stumbled upon Yong Chuan. We booked a table for 5 at 11AM on a Saturday. As it turns out we were the only ones in the restaurant for a good while. In their defense the weather was terrible out and people really started to roll in closer to noon. The way ordering works is you just tell your server what you want and then they bring it out to you. No fussing with checking off boxes on a flimsy paper. For simplicity's sake just go by the alphanumeric code next to what you want. The menu is decently sized. What surprised me most was how FAST the service is. I initially ordered a ton of dishes expecting them to trickle out slowly but we got most of the things we ordered in less than 5 minutes. And everything was nice and HOT. I won't bother going through everything, but I will hit on the standouts for me. I really liked the pork dumplings in chili oil and spicy crawfish dumplings. They aren't really things you see offered at your typical dim sum spot. I also really liked their black pepper beef. It was cooked well and super flavorful. Some of the dishes were misses; not terrible, but things I would not want to order again. I suppose that's to be expected. Another nitpick I have is that they charge for tea. I don't think I've ever had dim sum where tea wasn't included. That said, the service was fantastic. The place is spacious and clean. I liked the modern aesthetic they had going on, and the food was presented very well. I would definitely want to come back to Yong Chuan.

I thought this place didn't live up to the hype. It was very average with the exception of the fish blossom, but even that was a little on the small side. The restaurant had music pumping which made it feel more like a lounge or bar than a restaurant which made little sense. The ribeye was tough, but they took it off our bill and we got the soft shell crab instead. The soft shell crabs were a little over fried, but decent. There was nothing special about this spot, I wouldn't go back for the food even though the service was pretty good.

Dinner review Service is fast. Great and unique drinks Food #1 -Dongpo Pork. This dish was perfect. Savory with layers of flavors. It a must order. The free jasmine rice goes so well with this #2 salted egg yolk shrimp tofu. Also went well with the Rice. Silky and well flavored #3 Peking duck. perfectly cooked, great accompaniment. We got it at 40% off and it was a steal. #4 cha siu: good. Not as tender #5 fish cake. What a good dish, but above dishes were better. Overall, would definitely go back for the all you can eat dim sum based on the quality of the food we ate

i came here wanted to get the promotion roast duck , but on the weekend brunch they only serve dimsum AYCE. so we decided to stay to try their dimsum. Duck only served at dinner time. The AYCE dimsum brunch is at a very reasonable price $29/pp + Tax and tip. they have the popular dishes that you usually get from other dim sum places. the selection might be a bit limited compares to other dim sum restaurants but their quality are great. pieces are big and flavorful. my favorite is the crawfish dumplings. best thing is that you can try everything and re-order as many as. you want. Make sure to come hungry. the Service is great. easy to order and refill , you can just get couple of them to start and refill once they are finishes so that all are warm. they refill fast as well. The space is pretty upscale, great place for a nice dim sum brunch

We ordered: Salted egg tofu - large portion that came with portions of rice Soup dumplings - good with thin skin and lots of soup however disappointing that the order only came with 4 for the price of $14 Char siu - decent sized portion with half fatty/lean meat, good seasoning and sweetness on the meat Squid tentacles - large serving and squid was not overcooked/chewy, dish had a nice spicy flavor! Service: Overall pretty good except that they forgot one serving of rice and after removing our dirty plates, they forgot to give us new plates when the duck arrived. Ambience: Front of the restaurant is small and cozy, nicely decorated with a warm feeling. The back of the restaurant was larger and had a more casual vibe. Overall, a good experience. We were able to take advantage of a discount on the whole duck which was nice.

Yong Chuan is so good that I'm now back for a second visit seven days after my first. Their AYCE Dim Sum brunch is fantastic with relatively robust and creative menu. It doesn't have as many choices as some other places, however, I'd argue both the quality and portions are superior. My favorites include the Crawfish Dumplings, Shiumai, Tripe. The spring rolls were also quite excellent. For the Pineapple Pork Buns, taste is great but there is a lot of air inside - filling is a bit lite, but this is by design as usually one stuffed one will fill me up (looking at the bakers over at Mei Lai Wah). The service was excellent and attentive. Setting is decidedly upscale compared to the rest of Chinatown, so this is a great place to bring friends/family from out of town or gather for special occasions. Next time I will come in evenings when the Peking Duck service is available.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.
