I hate to say the express locations don't really hit the same. I wouldn't come with more than 4 people max - seating is maybe possible for 4-5 parties of 4 with some bar seating. There is an enclosed "backyard" space that fit our party of 6 luckily. The best thing was the spicy pork and shrimp wontons. Everything is about $10 each. The soup dumplings didn't have much flavor for me, and the noodles were a bit soggy. Everything came quickly and the staff was nice. But I wish the food was a little better. Also the app with the loyalty program is confusing because apparently it's location specific, and I couldn't redeem my reward here, they said only the downtown Brooklyn location which is weird because there's no way to tell that on the app, and then would earning points here even be possible? How can they make that distinction?

Stopped by to try out their soup dumplings, and honestly they really hit the spot. I only ordered a set of crab/pork soup dumplings because I had just eaten at another place earlier, otherwise I would have probably ordered another couple options. It's really good bang for your buck, and the store is deceptively pretty big so there's a lot of space. I liked the vibe of this store, the employees really seem to care about it, unlike other restaurants where they don't really put any effort. It's clean, well serviced, and the soup dumplings are great. Protip: you gotta use the chili flake/oil condiments with the vinegar to maximize the deliciousness!

I love the food here. It is very delicious and tasty. The restaurant is big. It has an outdoor and indoor seating area. I tried the shrimp rolls and the chicken soup dumplings. Both were very good and delicious. I would recommend stopping by.

Pleasant soup dumpling restaurant that provides a nice selection of soup dumplings, sides and other small traditional items. They accept Apple Pay and have WiFi for customers use. I make sure to stop for lunch every time I am working in Williamsburg.

I'm so thankful for this restaurant that was open til 2am the night we visited. It was a rainy night and we were starving and craving asian food. I wasn't expecting to find this gem. The dishes are all reasonably priced, they served generous portions, and all the entrees we chose were delicious. Check out the pics. I highly recommend eating here any time of day. Friendly staff, clean environment and delicious eats.

Very good quality dumplings for the price. Food took about 10 min. Restaurant is clean.

I wanted some Shanghai noodles so badly and stumbled across Nan Xiang Express. I didn't realize it was a chain restaurant until one of my orders was accidentally sent to Downtown Brooklyn. I ordered so much food on Ubereats before arriving to pick it up. I didn't realize I'd get such a large amount of food. I spent $49 total and it was worth every penny. Soup dumplings were so good and juicy. I ate it at home with my sister and it didn't disappoint. She loved all of the food as well. They even gave us the adorable soup spoons and wooden chop-sticks. The pork noodles were Devine. Honestly it filled me up so fast because it came with such a large amount. The Bokchoy inside the noodles were cooked perfectly and so was the pork. Chefs kiss! I barely had time to devour the other items I purchased. My all time favorite was the beef scallion pancakes. My goodness the beef with sauce, veggie crunch and crispiness of the pancakes were phenomenal, seriously 10/10 I also had the pork Bao buns fried at the bottom, it was so delicious and poofy just as I expected it to be with the small bottom crunch adding to the texture. The chili oil is not too spicy and packed the perfect heat paired with all my food. I really loved everything and will be coming back often. PS- The Passionfruit lime tea is DELICIOUS

Went here after visiting a local church! Amazing service and we asked what was recommended. Gave us great options: soup dumplings (which I hear are famous) and spicy wontons (and I ordered scallion pancakes bc can never go wrong w scallion pancakes!!!) Thank you for the good food and new place to check out when in neighbor

Welcome to New York City, it's time to get into some great eating! So on tap for dinner this time around came a rather unexpected find on my Yelp map! So last time, I was able to make a reservation to another restaurant in Brooklyn before going to dance. This time however, I was checking into my hotel at 7:30, so I needed something a bit quicker but still exceptional dining as I would only have two hours to even get ready to go to the Avant Gardner. Enter Nan Xiang Express, a soup dumpling joint in Williamsburg that apparently has a menu item that is Michelin-worthy. Yep! I had actually read somewhere that the Pork Soup Dumplings are so good that they are worthy of a Michelin star! Well then, I had to try them out, and I did that in the simplest way possible. By ordering the combo that comes along with it! So in addition to the dumplings, two veggie spring rolls and a soy milk (hot or iced) comes along in the meal. I opted take-out so I could just eat at the Pod (the hotel I was staying at this time around). I chose the cold soy milk because I felt like for soy milk cold would be a better fit. Before I got my order and left though, I decided to take pictures of the interior because it was quite fascinating for how small this place was. If you choose to stay in, you can find a tutorial on the wall on how to eat soup dumplings. Of course, I had to just figure it out on my own (more on that in a bit). They do have a backroom you can take your food to if you wanna eat there, and the garden theme is next level stuff. Okay, so back at the Pod, it's time to eat! I'm gonna start by saying that the soy milk was actually really good to have, and soy milk isn't quite what my first choice of milk would be if we're being honest. It helps cool off some of the spicier dipping sauces you are given like the chili oil. And it was tasty. The spring rolls were another hit, and the sauce it came with brought it out even more. The pastry was crispy and delightful. A win in every sense of the word. Now we move on to the dumplings, and for these, you're given a spoon to hold your dumpling in and a pair of chopsticks. I was a total pro at eating with chopsticks, and by total pro, I mean that I completely fail at it. If the chopstick police saw me eating my dumplings the way I did, I would be locked up with the key thrown away and eaten by a tiger. But boy oh boy was it worth it! You get soy sauce and the chili oil to dump the dumplings into, and the soup inside is really good. An herbal symphony dancing in your taste buds like it's the last night of its life! The pork was succulent, and the way it was steamed when it was made makes the dish a heaven on earth! And yeah, these dumplings made me thankful my hotel had a lounge area because eating them in my booked room would have gone terribly! Seriously, if are in Williamsburg and want some Dim Sum, give this place a try! It rules!

We were skeptical about this restaurant but it exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return! We came on a weekend for dinner so it was busy! We had the pork XLB, chicken feet, pork & vegetable wontons with spicy peanut sauce, noodles with scallion and peanut butter sauce, beef lo mein and the beef ribs. Everything was delicious! The highlights of our meal were the pork XLB and the beef ribs. The pork XLB were made fresh to order and they were flavorful and juicy! Definitely on my list of best XLB I have ever had. The beef ribs were also delicious! They torched it table side which definitely added a nice touch! Considering how busy they were, the service was immaculate. The most recent time, I was here for their dim sum brunch, which is either $36 for AYCE plus $2 for tea, or they price each thing individually. It was a bit annoying that the tea was not included, but at least both the Oolong and Chrysanthemum teas were good quality and readily filled. Service in general was pretty fast and frequently checked on our large semi- private table to see if we needed anything else to order or more tea. The dim sum selection is a bit smaller than many of the traditional dim sum spots, but the overall quality was excellent, with a couple of definite highlights and some more unique dishes such as dumplings with pickled shrimp, crawfish, or Taizhou rice along with Ningbo wontons. In general, I would say that the wrappers were properly thin and everything was filled generously. The aforementioned Pickled Pepper Shrimp Dumplings were one of the highlights. The slightly spicy and sour pickles made it taste very light and paired nicely with the plump shrimp. In terms of other shrimp dim sum, their version of Har Gow/Crystal Shrimp Dumplings included a little bit of sweet crab for an extra touch. It was also tasty. I also liked the Ningbo wontons, filled with a variety of ingredients including minced pork, dried shrimp, yard long beans, pickled vegetables, bamboo shoots, and others. It had a wonderful mix of textures with some interesting crunchy notes. Another unique option mentioned is their Crawfish Dumplings, which are very noticeable compared to the other dumplings due to their bright red color. I appreciated the spiciness but found these a tad fishy with a thicker wrapper than most, but others loved these and ordered more. For more standard dumplings, their Xiao Long Bao/XLB were pretty good, and they had a tasty version of Sticky Rice Pork Siu Mai. The Baked Pork Buns were good as they were not too sticky sweet. Finally, there was a decent version of Pork Dumplings in Chili Oil. Non-dumpling highlights included their excellent turnip cakes along with steamed spare ribs, chicken feet, and a particularly tasty version of steamed beef tripe with satay sauce. I would skip the Beef Short Ribs With Black Pepper, which had good flavor but was way too chewy. I know someone else ordered the spring rolls, but I don't remember trying them. They also apparently now have a Ningbo speciality called Shi Bing Tong, but I don't remember ordering it. Someone else got their simple and tasty porridge/congee, only available traditionally with pork and century eggs, and enjoyed it. I tried a bit, and it was indeed good. Desserts included a tasty Crispy Durian Pastry, alright Sesame Balls, a good Pineapple Bun/Bolo Bao, and Custard Buns, which everyone loved, but they had a cuttlefish ink shine, so I couldn't try them. This is a fantastic, reasonably priced AYCE Dim Sum. Would recommend it if they still offer this deal.

The ambiance is calm and cozy -- definitely a good spot whether you're grabbing a couple drinks, a quick bite, or sitting down for a full dinner. The tuna and avocado paired with the spicy red sauce really made it stand out -- honestly tasted great and something I'd get again. Also had the Mongolian steak with rice, which was another highlight. Presentation was fire -- it comes out still heating on a hot platter, which makes the whole experience feel elevated. Flavor matched the presentation too. Service was solid overall, no real issues there. The only downside was with a deal they were advertising ("3 for $33"). It was shown on their website and even posted outside the restaurant, which was actually one of the main reasons we chose the spot. When we tried to use it, we were told they weren't honoring it that night and that the deal had been causing them to lose money. I understand adjusting pricing if something isn't working, but if that's the case, the promotion should be removed or clearly communicated ahead of time.
