While I still prefer their OG location in Flushing, this is THE spot if you want to skip the line and taste the famous Nan Xiang dumplings. This is their sister brand which focuses on fast service, takeout, and delivery. Don't miss out on their soy milk - sometimes I stop by Nan Xiang just for their soy milk. *Pork & Veggie Wonton in Spicy Peanut Sauce $9.95 *** Spicy Peanut Sauce Wonton was my top pick - very peanut-y and not overwhelmingly spicy.  *Chicken Soup Dumpling $10.95 * *Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumpling $10.95 They served the soup dumplings in bamboo baskets, just like when you dine at NXXLB. Chicken XLB was better than the crab one imo, as I couldn't really taste the crab. Their meat fillings were super juicy.  *Pork Crispy Bottom Bun $7.95 Sheng jian bao was fluffy, which also means their wrapper was on the thicker side. It was bursting with meat juice. The bottom could also be crispier. *Scallion Pancake $6.95 ** Didn't expect I would love this so much! Very crispy on the crust and slightly chewy on the inside. Loved the aroma from the scallion.  *Cucumber Salad $7.95 * I couldn't stop but kept digging into the garlic cucumber salad. Very garlicky and refreshing. *Shredded Beef & Pepper Noodle Soup $14.95 *Shanghai Beef Stir-fried Noodle $14.95 *Shrimp Spring Roll $7.95 *Soy Milk $3.95 **

It was freezing cold in here! But the soup dumplings warmed me right up. They were delicious and piping hot. The pork fried rice was meh, I'd skip it next time. Service was quick. But you can only order at the kiosk with your card, cash only at the register.

A smaller menu than a lot of Chinese spots but the sides and food are yummy! I was in the mood for something lighter so got the broccoli, bokchoy, and soup dumplings. They are also running a lovely promo for the Dragon Boat Festival where veggie spring rolls are just $1! There's plenty of seating inside and it was clean. You can order from a kiosk or with a real person. Food came out fresh and yummy. Service was friendly.

I decided to try something new, and after reading the reviews and ratings, I was even more inspired to check out Nan Xiang Express. Thankfully, the food did not disappoint. I ordered the braised beef and noodles, which was good--especially after recently having some of the best braised beef and noodles in Vegas. The beef was tender, and everything was well-seasoned. I also tried the chicken and shrimp siu mai, which was delicious, though I wish it had come with a sauce. For my drink, I had the pineapple and green tea, which included pieces of pineapple and jelly--it was really refreshing. Overall, I was pleased with everything and would definitely order again.

Anytime I don't have to go to Flushing or the city for dumplings I consider that a win. I didn't realize they had opened an express location Downtown, Brooklyn on Lawerence street which is fast becoming known for small Asian chains adding a location I happened to walk by and decided to have some soup dumplings You place your order at the kiosk indicating if it's dine in or takeout enter a table number and wait for your food. Id it's soup dumplings prepare for a bit off a wait since they are steamed. If you are new to soup dumplings don't worry they have a handy table sign giving instructions I only ordered the pork soup dumplings and water since they were out of the tea I wanted. All in all it was great to step out of the cold and have some dumplings

I've only had Nan Xiang back in Flushing (I don't even know if it's still there) so I was pleasantly surprised they had one near the hotel I was staying at. It wasn't as good as I remember but it was still decent. Service was a little slow though.

I've long considered the original Nan Xiang to be my favorite soup dumplings in the city. Despite the commonplace enshittification that ensues when most great local spots expand and scale, I am happy to report that these soup dumplings are still amazing. There are lots of options. There's chicken soup dumplings, the pork and crabmeat versions, even spicy beef soup dumplings (haven't tried these yet)...I'm getting the classic pork every time. If you want to mix it up dumpling wise, I also like the crispy bottom pork buns and the pot stickers, but nothing beats the signature soup dumplings. That said, I have been VERY pleasantly surprised by the chicken stir fried noodles. The udon is excellent, with a lovely chew on the noodles. I also like to get the garlic smashed cucumber salad, and they recently added a crispy sesame chicken bowl that hits that bad but good Chinese food craving that we all have from time to time. It's not my favorite place to dine in; not because it's counter service (the staff are actually very nice), not because it's not comfortable and clean and nice, but because the Express means you're getting most of your food in takeout containers, creating more waste than is really necessary. The soup dumplings do come in the steamer baskets though, and that's why you're here.

I found it a pleasant surprise that Nan Xiang opened up an express location here in Downtown Brooklyn. While they are more well-known for their soup dumplings, I was in the mood for some pan fried soup dumplings, or sheng jian bao. These, for the uninitiated, are steamed buns with a juicy pork filling that get pan fried until crispy on the bottom. At Nan Xiang Express, you can either order at the kiosk or at the counter, and the sheng jian bao are called D1- pork crispy bottom buns ($8.95). I thought they had a very lovely crispy bottom but found the dough to filling ratio a little off. However, the house chili oil pairs wonderfully with the buns. I also ordered the D7- pork, shrimp, and chive dumplings ($7.95) to go as well. The dumplings were juicy but a little overseasoned. While this is an express location, the food does take some time to prepare. If you are in a hurry and expecting fast casual speeds, I would not recommend Nan Xiang Express. However, if you have a few extra minutes to spare, the food is freshly prepared and makes a perfect quick lunch.

First time having chicken soup dumplings. Luckily for me there are table toppers to teach you how to eat them. The dumplings are so delicious and savory, I quickly found that you didn't need the dipping sauce of soy sauce and vinegar. Vegetable spring rolls were good. I would definitely go back for the dumplings. The ambiance is similar to fast food. Service was friendly.

This restaurant appeared new so in passing decided to check them out. It's always a good sign when you walk into a restaurant and it's full to capacity. After reviewing the menu decided on trying the pork soup dumpling and original scallion pancakes. Both items were tasty and the soup dumpling had a good amount of broth which was still piping hot when I took my first taste. Will go back and try something else from the menu and have the complete dining in experience. Clean restaurant and helpful staff.

Great service and clear environment. The soup dumpling is legit and the broth inside of the dumping is very flavor. We also got two fruit drinks that are as good as the Heytea next door! High recommend it!

Also, it didn't come with any soup noodles. The scallion pancakes were very thick, and also tasted off. The 1 inch sauce container was only 1/4 filled and the sauce was extremely saucy. The general tso sauce was super thick, gooey and gelatinous, and the fried rice that came with it tasted more like steamed white rice with soy sauce than anything fried. We arrived on a Saturday night around 6pm and it was packed; there were two parties ahead of us so we opted to put our name down and wait approximately 15-20, which I thought was pretty reasonable. They arrange the tables to optimize space for the following parties, so you might just get lucky with the seating arrangements. As most Chinese establishments, service was fast-paced, but we never felt rushed at any point of the meal despite the hustle and bustle. We ordered a few items for our party of 4 to share: 1. SCALLOP AND PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS: Surprisingly was a fan of this. There were big chunks of scallops in the meat. Gave the meat a bit of a bounce, but wasn't tough or chewy either. Normally would order crab at most soup dumpling spots, but scallop was new to me. Would get this again. 2. PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS: I commend them for an actual juicy and soupy filling. The pork was seasoned well and we had a whole spoonful of soup from each dumpling. The skin was a little thick for my liking. My judgment of soup dumpling is usually determined by the skin and this one didn't exactly meet the criteria. 3. FRIED WONTONS IN PEANUT AND HOT SAUCE: The star of the show! This was the dish that everyone seems to rave about and what we actually came for. The wontons were fried to a perfect crisp; they were actually crunchy and maintained that despite being dredged in sauce. I felt like there was a bit of a sugary caramelization to it, which balanced out the salty component of the dish. This whole dish encompassed every category in the flavor and texture department. 4. BEEF IN BLACK PEPPER SAUCE: I could've done without this tbh. There were a lot of onions in this, which I have no complaint about, but I wasn't trying to get my money's worth of onions here LOL. Black pepper sauce wasn't anything special either. I actually forgot that it was black pepper sauce because it wasn't peppery enough. 5. SHANGHAI RICE CAKES: The rice cakes had a pleasant chew to it and the sauce coated it evenly. I wish the rice cakes had a little more char to it so it would be more fragrant. Good, but not life changing. Overall a pleasant experience and certainly met expectations. There were some dishes that I liked more than others and some that I could do without. Probs wouldn't make the trip here frequently, but the wontons are definitely worth the trip!
