Dark moody speakeasy. Edgy and oh so very intriguing. Just amazing to experience the mysterious entrance, cool interior vibe, compelling cocktails and attentive service. We arrived just upon opening and were welcomed warmly, the first to experience an exceptional evening. The interior exuded the epitome of speakeasy style set in perhaps a throwback Chinatown. Service was attentive and welcoming at the get-go. We could not resist the Sichuan Old Fashioned, well crafted with a wash of chili fat oil. Well crafted and oh so interesting! We definitely plan to be back to try more intriguing cocktails and their specially crafted tapas with an asian twist!

a very intimate and dark bar x eatery, the tables are pretty small and close to one another so probably not great for large groups. the chilli fish and salted egg green beans with scallops were delicious. the crab fried rice had a good texture but was a bit too peppery. the hk milk punch cocktail was too strong for me, I thought it was going to be more milky but it tasted of mostly alcohol. prices are decent

Camera flashes. Camera flashes everywhere. This is what you'll see all night. I was super excited to come here, as I had been to a fair share of old Chinese-style cocktail bars in Asia that blew me away, and was hoping to find similar experiences here. But nice places like these don't go without getting blown up on social media instantly. Came here on a late Saturday night and we had only waited about 20ish minutes for a seat, which I think is pretty impressive. It helps that they have a 1.5-hour time cap, which is fair and more than enough time if you're only here for drinks and maybe a side dish or two. They come at you with the bill on the dot. This place is super fast-paced...for a swanky-looking bar, and my chair got bumped by passersby many times, despite having a decently wide walkway. I had the HK Milk Punch and thought it was alright, nothing memorable. But the alcohol was strong. Also did sides of the Dan Dan Noodles and Supreme Seafood Fried Rice, which were very average and pricey for the small portions. Luckily, it was just the two of us and having already eaten, we ordered out of curiosity.

This place is great! The interior is gorgeous and the food is yummy. The standout is the truffle mushroom salad. I got the birds nest drink which came for a drink. Service was great as well. Would definitely recommend.

I think I'm starting to be desensitized to good chinese food because there's too much of that in nyc and that's most of what I eat when I go out. It kinda seemed like your average joint and then I realized our bar for average is much higher than most of America. So maybe I'll take this as an intervention to take a break on chinese food so I can appreciate how good it is again. My friend and I went here to celebrate lunar new year and we both agree that the salted egg green beans with scallops were amazing. The drinks are also really tasty, you don't taste the alcohol.

Amazing food and drinks Firecracker popcorn chicken, firecracker shrimp toast. Drinks are great too. Not a single bad thing to say. Great music and fantastic vibe.

Ye's is a classic speakeasy with it's vintage chandeliers, warm red lighting, emerald counters, velvet booths, and medicine bottles. The space is intimate and cozy - perfect for a date night. I have been here before and always get their popcorn chicken! Reservations highly recommended!

Absolutely loved this bar. The duck scallion pancakes were delicious. A bit greasy but literally the best. The salted duck egg yolk ice cream was so yummy. Loved the flavor and texture. The tcm martini was so good. Definitely sweeter than I thought but I really enjoyed it. Vibes were great and I loved the decor. The service was also so great. Out server was the best. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I were visiting NYC for 5 days and this was by far our *favorite* meal! After walking all day, our feet hurt and we were hungry. I was so thankful Ye's could take us an hour before our reservation!! Life savers! We were immediately transported into the ambient atmosphere and were so happy to be in the warm, cool, and cozy environment of Ye's. We ordered the yuzu shrimp, Dan Dan noodles, wontons, and chicken wings. INCREDIBLE. Husb ordered the mai tai and I ordered the earl gray gimlet. Everything is 10/10. If we were staying another day I would have gone back immediately! But it just so happens out favorite meal was our last evening in town. Can't wait to go back, but until then, I will be recommending Ye's to everyone!!

Came to try a few of their many different drinks and most certainly this is the reason why folks would want to come by and try innovative drinks with an asian twists. Them drinks can get expensive (probably median price point of $20 for each cocktail or more). We also ordered some snacks to go with the drinks, such as spicy popcorn chicken, cucumber salad, sweet and smokey ribs, usual standby of scallion pancakes. The food was good and drinks something off the usual beaten path. It aint cheap since for party of 3 it came out to $182 w/o tips yet. Will we be back? hard to say but the ambience (dining room down the stairs) was very nice and service pretty good.

Overall: C // 3 stars Interesting Chinese-centric take on a NYC-style speakeasy with eye-catching fusion dishes and a large menu of unique cocktails. I liked most of my experience overall, with competitive cocktail prices in the $20 range and tastes for all palettes, except for one which I cannot wrap my head around. (Duck Pancake: B) - $18 is a bit steep for this appetizer, but the usage of basil and cucumber really bring out the levity to balance the scallion pancake, nice bit. (Spice Road Trail Mix: B) - Love the balance between sweetness and the hearty Indian spice blend that gives the mixed nuts another dimension. I think if the presentation were a bit more catchy, this could be such a draw as this is a perfect bar snack. (Bird's Nest: A) - I don't follow the name, but Yuzu Osmanthus is a comforting blend that's mild on the palette, balancing fruit, floral, and acidity. (Fire & Peel: F) - Promising mixture of ingredients, but came out tasting exactly like a very strong cough medicine that's beyond unpleasant. It seems like the only guiding flavor is licorice, which when combined with alcohol as the secondary flavor, this is the result. I had an ok experience here. They sat us in the hallway with this tiny little ledge seating that was so cramped and uncomfortable. To be fair, they asked us if we were fine with this seat because it's all they had, but we didn't realize how tiny it would be. Our food plates would over hang on the little ledge table. The food was alright to good. The dan dan noodles were super ok - the noodles were overcooked and felt like spaghetti noodles. We asked for chili oil but didn't receive it until 40 mins later when we were done with our food. The place was busy so I understand the staff had a lot going on, but the service was alright. The chicken bucket was good but insanely overpriced. It's not actually that much chicken. The shrimp toast was good as well but super heavy. Also got a cocktail which was good.

There is street parking. Usually meters, but they all have different times. I found parking fairly easy, and I went around 530/6. Later than that, you'll have a harder time. You can also park in the parking lot on Essex St if you don't mind walking… Read more

Came here with two other friends for dinner and we pigged out. We started off with Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck ($15), which tasted amazing. The pancake was flaky and not overly soaked in oil, while the duck meat enhanced the taste. I think everything should order this for the table. We also got the Dan Dan Noodles w Minced Pork ($8), which is a staple dish in Sichuan cuisine. Make sure you stir the bowl to mix the sauce and minced pork. For veggies, we got the Sautéed Green Beans With Eggplant ($18), which tasted great. I usually get sautéed pea shoots for a veggie dish, but this was worth ordering as the eggplant tasted great along with the green beans. For entrees, we got the Spicy Green Pepper Fish Filet ($28 for filet). A classic Cantonese dish that comes with bok choy, so it turns out I didn't really need to order a veggie dish. Delicious. We also tried the OOHU Mao Xue Wang ($34), which may be one of the most spiciest dish available on the menu. This dish combines blood curd from a duck, tripe, and chicken gizzards along with other organs into a simmered broth containing chilis and peppercorns. They also use spam, vermicelli noodles, mushroom, and other things. If you're adventurous and you like spicy, I would recommend this. Best eaten with a cup of rice. Service is great as our server made good recommends and was overall friendly. They also have a party room you can book, which sounded pretty affordable. Don't recall what their minimum spend was, but it was super reasonable compared to a lot of other spots in Chinatown and Flushing.

We ordered multiple dishes which came out one after the other. Some of the standouts for me were the Pork Intestine Dry Pot ($20.95), Crispy Tofu with Salty Egg Yolk ($23.95), and Sauteed String Beans ($16.95). Many spicy food options since this is a Szechuan spot afterall. Some dishes were a bit too salty and spicy, which they did discount after we brought it to their attention. Overall, decent spot and good for large groups. Otherwise, I didn't find this spot to be too memorable (not bad, not great).

I was told that it isn't always open, but if it was, I could certainly have a table there. When we arrived on the night of our dinner, I asked about the back room and was told that it was closed. And indeed, there was a rope up separating it from the front dining room. There was a table of people sitting there, but I was told that was management having a meeting. I asked when the room might be opened because we were willing to wait. I was told that there was no way for them to know. The front room was already full, by the way, except for the table that we seated at. Within 10 minutes, the back room opened and people started to go in. When I asked about this, I was told that it was a private party. About a half hour later I got up to use the restroom and had a look in the back. They were people seated at tables all around the room. It was obvious that none of them knew each other. It wasn't a private party. I didn't bother to ask about this because at that point appetizers had arrived and it was too late to move to another table. I was very baffled by the staff's reluctance to seat us at a requested table, which would've been very easy to do. As a result, I don't think I'll be coming back to Chi or recommending it to friends. I wrote to them about the experience, hoping for a possible explanation. Over a week has gone by and I've gotten no response. I'm done with these folks.
