Really enjoyed my meal here overall. The pad Thai was excellent. Our server even said it was the best pad Thai they'd ever had, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The tempura and spicy cucumber salad were also standouts. For drinks, I had the green tea cocktail, which wasn't really my favorite. Rest of my table ordered the Rush Hour and Midori Sour really enjoyed it, so I'd probably try one of those next time. We also ordered the lemon pepper karaage. It was ok on its own, but squeezing the fresh lemon over it made a big difference. The ambiance is stylish and makes it a great spot for dinner or drinks. My only complaint was the service. Everyone was friendly, albeit a little too sales focused at times, and things slowed down quite a bit toward the end of the meal. It took us around 20 minutes just to get a copy of the receipt after we had already paid, which put a bit of a damper on an otherwise great experience. I was really excited to try this place, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered the karaage chicken, and it was extremely inconsistent. Some pieces were juicy, flavorful, and really good, while others were so overcooked and hard that I was genuinely worried about my teeth. You could actually taste that some pieces were burnt. We started with the Citrus Miso Salad and the Lemon Pepper Karaage Chicken - both excellent. I loved this spot in FiDi! I found it kind of randomly perusing restaurants nearby to go to before a boar tour taking off from the pier, so I didn't know what to expect. Most other restaurants I looked at nearby seemed more after work drinks / pub vibes, and I was coming in with a larger group and wanted more of a sit down dinner, and liked that they had a happy hour. I was very pleasantly surprised! Food and drinks were great, service was fantastic, and vibes were really cool. Lucky Tiger was SOOO good! My Boyfriend picked this place for his birthday dinner, and we were genuinely shocked by how yummy the food and drinks were. We live right down the street, too; we always walk by, and we finally got to try! The Chicken Gochuchang Karaage will not leave my mind. The orange duck tacos were to die for. Also, the fried rice was fire!!!!! Anything cooked in that stone pot is* chef's kiss*. All the drinks were super cool and delicious. I loved their take on the Midori Sour. Ambience was sick. Multiple rooms with different vibes. They even have a photobooth (even though one picture costs $11). Even the bathroom was cute. Now listen, we had a wonderful server. She brought us free birthday shots for the whole table. Unfortunately, they messed up our checks really badly and kept us there way longer than they should have, especially because it was their error they were not taking ownership of. My boyfriend's dad had to get involved, and trust me...you do not wanna mess with him. Wish the service handled it better, but it is what it is (and they gave us another free shot for the inconvenience (I think it was called a green light tea shot, which was FIRE). This was an experience. We tried to go on Thursday night. Google said they were open, we get there, walk in and we're told they were closing and kitchen was already closed. Google said they were open for another hour but okay. Bummer, we were looking forward to trying out their tacos. We dis come back Friday night and have it another try. Got sat right away but NO TACOS. Just wasn't meant to be I guess. The server who I choose not to name was very pushy. She wanted us to order more was not subtle about it. We just wanted a chill last night in NYC, couple apps and couple drinks. The food was delicious. The drunken noodles were AMAZING. It's cozy, unpretentious and offers a good range of food and drink options. Additionally, it wasn't very crowded when I visited on a Monday night which made it the perfect place to catch up with an old friend. We sat in the corner booth and had Axle as our server. He was absolutely lovely and made our long overdue, belated birthday catch up special. If I could give him 6-stars, he would deserve it! We ordered a few dishes: Cheesy Map Rice Cakes, Shrimp Shumai, Chicken Skewers and the Fancy Filet Bao. The rice cakes were super spicy and and bit heavy for my taste, but the fancy filet baos were right up my alley - kind of reminded me of a bao fish filet (sans the cheese.) We passed by this spot and decided to give this a try. The exterior is eye-catching and when you walk in, you are transported to another world. Our server was very outgoing and friendly even though the day outside was so cold and gloomy. Our server was also very attentive and our water cups were never empty. It was pretty empty but we arrived during an odd hour. Also they have a bathroom in the back. We ordered: Spicy steelhead crispy rice - 10/10 so good. The crispy rice adds a nice crunch and the fish topping is very refreshing. It is a bit spicy because of the sliced jalapeno so if you don't like spicy, just remove that. This is a hard place to review--why? Because, I'm torn. First off, the prices in relation to the serving size are ridiculous. The drinks and small plates are more expensive than the Mandarin in Columbus Circle. Seriously, if you are money conscious, you are going to feel ripped off. But... if you have money to burn, or plan to get whacked right after dinner, then this is a great place to go to disappear the money you don't want your kids getting their hands on. Everything we had was very good. The chicken on a stick was two tiny pieces of chicken for a stupid price, but it was fantastic. Same with the tempura shrimp... but excellent. I decided to try the $25 pad Thai. That price seemed close to what I would pay in Manhattan. It was also excellent. I was immediately amazed by the decor and aesthetics of this place, which is beautifully done. The restaurant is also separated into various rooms, which was cool. As a walk in on a Friday night, we were seated in the bar area with a high top table. The music is also a bit loud with a live DJ playing. We started off with the Lucky Tiger Shrimp Tempura ($16) to share. These were crunchy and flavorful, but quite a tiny dish. Then I had the Drunken Noodles ($22) with Beef (+$6) while my friend had the Kimchi Fried Rice ($23) with Beef (+$6). The extra cost for protein is a bit excessive on top of the already pricey dishes. I did enjoy the flavor, but this spot feels a bit catered to non-Asians more. Plus, the price just isn't worth what you're getting even though the food is tasty. Overall, decent spot when there's not many other options for food in the area. I work in the area, so a few colleagues and I decided to come for happy hour. We had a reservation, so they sat us in the back, back. It is surprisingly a very large restaurant! The decor is interesting. It's giving early 2000s "Orientalism", where they just throw all sorts of random Asian-themed items into a room and call it a day. There was a weird amalgamation of Thailand/Chiang Mai, Vietnam rainforest, Japanese Onigiri, and Chinese Tea decor. The menu was "Asian fusion", but in the way that wasn't inventive or particularly adventurous. When a menu says "Bao Bun", which is the equivilent to saying bun bun, then you know you're essentially in a spot where Asian fusion means slapping stuff in a bao or spring roll wrapper and calling it a day. We tried the Lucky Tiger Tempura Shrimp, Karaage Crispy Chicken (another redundancy because karaage is literally fried chicken), Fried Rice with Lemongrass chicken, and Korean Short Rib Tacos. Let's dissect. The Lucky Tiger Tempura Shrimp tasted like the bambam shrimp you'd get at a Chili's. The Korean Short Rib Tacos had no Korean flavors. It actually just tasted like a regular taco. And lastly, the Fried Rice, which was the worst affront of all. It was completely tasteless. Absolutely flavorless. We had to ask for soy sauce and it didn't even make it better. The lemongrass chicken was also completely void of any kind of flavor. And the rice was also wet. Zero wok hay whatsoever. After we ordered, we never saw our waiter ever again until the check came. There was almost no one to flag down. Drinks were fine, but if you're just looking for drinks, go to Split Eights a few blocks away. It's a much better menu and vibe. read more

Regular city prices given the portions, you get what you pay for. The Shumai was Trader Joe's at best. The fried rice is served in a molcajete which I wasn't too big a fan of. Next time I'll have to come for the drinks for a better overall review. One thing to note was the service.
