Trying to track down my order, they took my money, but never gave me food. Said it's not their problem, to call the delivery company. Delivery company says to contact yen's. Yen's manager hung up on me and is refusing to answer calls **update, the food was delivered to the a neighbor two streets over*** I realize that yen's doesn't employ video drivers, review stands, 1 star... the manager is rude and hung up on me after saying "not his problem" read more

We are from San Francisco, Bayarea and good food to us is really important. We did not expect how good and tasty the food here is! Omg! They are also family owned and the dishes are modeled after their mother's recipes. We left here drooling all the way to our car. We ordered the eggplant, west lake beef soup, fish with spicy sauce, 3 cups chicken, Taiwan A Chay (stir fried with garlic) rose tea, and Taiwan pork dumpling with spicy and non spicy sauce. All of these are soo yummy! Trust, we know homemade and well made Taiwanese food. We will be going back for sure! read more

So we ran into Yens almost accidentally when our car broke down in freezing weather in parking lot. It does not look like much from the outside - but what a revelation!! The food here was outstanding. From the soup through an amazing chicken kung pao and chicken with chilli everything hit the mark. What a find! We will be back. read more

Our family was still searching for the best take out Chinese in Ashburn. We've tried a lot of places, there's a lot of bad-to-mid places around here. From other local reviewers on all the platforms, Cafe Opera was currently at the top of the list. They were very good, at least compared to everything else we tried, but not great. Having lived in Boston and LA, we just wanted some good "cheap" Chinese food. We finally got around to trying Yen's. Ordered delivery. We've now found our #1. Kids and grown ups were all happy. This was our first order from here, so we got our standard, General Tso's chicken, Kung Pao chicken, fried rice, and pan fried pork potstickers. We asked for the entrees to be extra spicy, and they did it, this is a surprisingly hard to get successfully fulfilled request. They charged us an extra dollar, but that's fine. They added lots of spicy red peppers and gave us the heat we asked for. It's so crazy that other places either don't see our request for extra spicy stuff, or ignore it, or make a half-assed attempt at making something extra spicy, and then failing. Anyways, Yen's did us good. The Kung Pao was protein heavy, not like other places that'll load it up with gigantic pieces of bell peppers and onions. The potstickers were great. The wrappers were thin and not as doughy as other restaurants's potstickers. If this is the Taiwanese style, then Taiwanese style forever!! We were very impressed and will be exploring the menu a bit more on our next order now that we know they can do our standard dishes justice. read more

I can't get enough of Yen's cafe. The food is outstanding flavor quality and service. I have taken many friends and they all agree it is delicious. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Ashburn, no need to drive any further to enjoy an authentic first class Chinese dish read more

They need to change their website. Says they deliver if address is under 5.9 miles away (which is random regardless) but when I placed an order I was told they won't deliver to Sterling because traffic is too bad. Traffic is pretty bad everywhere around here, but okay if that is your policy, just don't say something different on your website. read more

Very good Taiwanese food, running the gamut from fare such as orange chicken to more "exotic" dishes such as Taiwanese beef with Chinese spinach. At Yens I prefer the more authentic (i.e., not so Americanized) dishes, which have a more interesting flavor. And the soups are outstanding, with what might be the best hot and sour soup I've ever had. Likewise the dumplings are excellent, among the best I've had, and the selection of tea is amazing. I recommend going in off hours (i.e., not lunchtime), because it can get quite crowded at times, with a couple of the tables (there are only about 9) being good, but other tables are just, well, not ideally located. So if you can get one of the good tables, the experience is vastly better. read more

Best Chinese food in Loudoun by a long shot. Always prepared quickly, friendly people, and they take care to make sure even the carry out is fresh. read more

We happened upon this place when the Vietnamese grill down the street was closed and we were hungry. What a wonderful surprise! It is a small restaurant but I think that's what makes it so good; the food is fresh and the quality is exceptional. We've tried many things on the menu but our favorites are the Three Cup Chicken and the Moo-Shu Pork. The prices are a little higher but worth every penny. The place is clean, the service is friendly, and most importantly, the food is damn good! read more

My family and I went to Yens cafe for the first time and we were so impressed by the food and their kind service. They were so nice!! The food was fresh and delicious! They are doing indoor seating right now too! Even though we ordered to go and sat outside they still came and offered us water and utensils. Wonderful experience! read more

Ask for their special menu. They have some interesting options, but I would stay away from the pork belly. When I first say it, I was thinking more in the crispy pork belly region, unfortunately the dish is just globs of fat. Besides that, all of the other dishes were quite tasty. I got the crispy sesame beef and it was very flavorful. Also, the portions are huge so you definitely wont go hungry. Decor and real estate is minimal, but the good food makes up for it. Would definitely try again. read more

After seeing such high reviews and sifting through the occasional complainers and self-VIPs, I knew we definitely had to try this place, especially with 180+ yelp reviews and 4.5 stars. Went here on New Years Day and my wife and I shared the General Chicken and Kung Pao Shrimp - both were just incredible food dishes. Had to be the best Chinese food I've ever had. We also started with cups of hot and sour and wanton soups, both were amazing. Can't wait to go back - reservations appear to be a good idea for groups of 4+. They are closed on Monday's apparently. Thanks Wen! read more

Food is solid at this place. But the space is small, usually appears to be short handed, and wait can be very long, and I'm not talking about just getting seated, rather the wait AFTER you had put the order in IF you are lucky enough to catch the servers as they swoosh by, bless their hearts... During rush hours the place is inundated with take-out orders and you will have to compete with those F&$&$. I'd say if you show up hungry and have a bit of unfortunate timing (I'm being kind), be ready to get your patience thoroughly tested. Didn't think you have it in ya to cut a b&$$@, come and find out! Kidding aside, I do like the people here and I wish them nothing but the best. read more

RUDE!!! I went in to order a large Wonton Soup. I paid and an order gray headed gentle said they would bring it out in 15-20 mins. I went to Mt car and sat 30 mins. I went back in and he said "I told you she would get it out to you, just have a seat". I said excus me, he said "I told you to have a seat". By this time I am not happy! It's Soup! I got my money back. Never again. read more

Ordered online using the Beyond Menu app. We had a pleasurable experience once before which made me want to make this my local Chinese delivery. I am new to the Ashburn area. Waited about 1 hour and 15 mins before my first call in. The lady on the phone tells me the driver will be there in 10-15 mins. I asked her to call the driver to double check, which I assume she did. We waited another 30 mins and still didn't get our food. I called back the lady blamed me saying that we lived 4 miles away. I gave them 5 more minutes to arrive at my house our I wasn't accepting the delivery. Needless to say I the food didn't arrive in time. I didn't even answer the door. Garbage service. read more

Service: excellent service and the first time we found a Chinese restaurant with this kind of service. Very pleased with the service. Food: too salty! Little less on salt then the food will be excellent (lost 1 star because of this) Atmosphere: very small cozy restaurant with cool tea set. Bonus: at the end of the meal we received their version of fried donut. Hot tasty and taste just right (did I said complimentary from Yen's Cafe) read more

First time at Yen's - closest Chinese restaurant to my house. Yen's doesn't look like much from the outside, just a 'suite' in a large building of restaurants and offices. Once inside, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and shown to our table. There's about 8 or 9 tables at Yen's. It's a cozy little place! Drinks orders were taken promptly and delivered to the table within a minute or two. Our food order was taken after drinks were on the table. The person serving us was great - friendly, polite and chatty with the kids too. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Chicken and cashew nuts, Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Special Lo Mein with Chicken, Beef and a shrimp. Two bowls of white rice came with the food too. Food was delicious. Tasty, well seasoned and hot. Plenty of it too. Service was great - very friendly and efficient. We'll definitely dine here again. read more

Our family's favorite Chinese restaurant. All the dishes are fresh and full of flavor. The Kung Pao chicken is our favorite.

CRISPY SESAME BEEF FOR THE WIN. Okay, I'm extra focused but honestly their crispy sesame beef is a HUGE winner for me. Crispy (obviously), with the right balance of sweet and spicy. The beef inside is tender, making the whole thing basically beef fries. Beef. Fries. On hot steamed rice. Um, winning much? Onto the other plates. Nothing was disappointing. Vegetable dish? On point. Crispy pan-fried noodles with beef? Perfection. Taiwanese chicken? Insanely delicious. To top it off, the restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seats available. Service is quick and attentive, and even personal too. Our friends and us has been frequenting this restaurant a couple of time and it's nice that they remember who we are! Definitely THE spot for good, authentic Taiwanese/Chinese food. Of course, don't skip the teas. They are known for their tea selection (which comes in the prettiest tea setting!) but we haven't tried any yet! read more

First time ordered from this place and highly disappointed with the food. Potstickers were burnt. The cover of the potsticker container was not even closed. My son refused to eat such burnt food. Rice in the fried rice was half cooked. Chicken with cashew was sweet and I have never had sweet chicken with cashew at any Chinese place. The only good dish was the lomein. I am surprised at the good reviews. I was expecting good food but this was one of the worst I have tasted in this area. Never ordering again! read more

Dear Mrs Shu Yen, I have been going to your restaurant for about 7 years now and have always found your service and food 5 stars. I always recommend your restaurant and I am sure I have sent much business to you. NO MORE!!!!!! Ever since you got that new front person at the cash register and who takes orders, the older man there, your restaurant has gone down down down. I have seen many times where he yells at customers and is very rude to them. I kept coming back because I enjoyed your food until today when he was rude to me, I mean rude. I will not go Into details but I just cancelled the pick up order and came to chin chin cafe for he same order. Guess what, food may not be as good as yours but the service is 100 times better. Bye bye my old friend. NEVER AGAIN thx to your guy there at the front. read more

Had to update my review since we never stopped ordering from them (hey, the food is just that good). Things to order: Taiwanese Fried Chicken, Crispy Sesame Chicken, Taiwan Style Dumplings. Always SO good. Delivery hasn't been an issue again so, hey, everyone makes mistakes, right? The only reason they don't get five stars is because we have to order a minimum of $50 for them to deliver to us (that's not the case for everyone so don't let that dissuade you; it depends on your address). I get it but that's a pretty large amount for minimum delivery. Still, we love our Yens! read more

First time coming here, came highly recommended from my friends, but I should've looked at the yelp reviews. First off, we are one of 4 occupied tables in the establishment and the owner who sat us came to take our orders before giving us a menu. We place our orders shortly after and after an hour of waiting for food, we find that they did not place our order in the kitchen. Not only did they neglect serving us, but made me feel like we weren't even acknowledged...unbelievable service considering our table made up 25% of the restaurants total customers. The owner handled the situation by apologizing and requesting us to wait until the kitchen finished the food, no refund, no accommodation just terrible service. read more

I was skeptical of finding good Chinese in Ashburn (let alone authentic Taiwanese) but as soon as we walked up and I saw the Taipei 101 poster out front, I had a good feeling about it. The next good sign was when a party of 3 Asians were seated right after we were and were clearly regulars who already knew exactly what they wanted to order. We went with the: 1) Pork and leek dumplings for appetizer - fresh and light 2) Taiwan style chicken with basil - AMAZING 3) Salt and pepper shrimp - very good 4) Sizzling beef - pretty good As with most Chinese places, do yourself a favor and avoid the Americanized dishes. The service was good, food came out quickly, and the chef herself was very chatty and welcoming. She asked if I speak Chinese (a little) but thankfully switched to English for my sake. The space isn't huge (maybe 10 tables at most) but evidently they have a back room you can call ahead to request for larger parties. Prices are a little bit higher than what I expect based on DC suburbs and Philly Chinatown but certainly on par with what you'd pay at standard Leesburg area restaurants. Next time maybe I'll try to order off menu and ask for stinky tofu, ha! I would also love to see some clay pot entrees offered, especially in the colder months. read more

Absolutely amazing experience here at Yen's cafe. The employees are very friendly and personable. Its delicious. When you are craving good ole Asian cuisine Mogoo Gai Pan is of the chain so good.

I had a very good experience at Yens. My favorite drink was the Avocado milk. It was very thick, had a sweet taste and was so delicious and filling.
