Generous size burgers, fresh fries to top it off. We ate in, it's small 4 booths, a large table and a few small tables. Not fancy but it's a good neighbourhood place to either stay or take out. What an incredible hidden gem in the north end! Wow, wow, super wow!! The food here is to die for, everything we tasted was amazing. I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger and onion rings and my hubs had the 152 burger and a regular poutine. And we shared a strawberry milkshake. Now you'd better come here on your cheat day as everything is really rich, but so good and so worth it. Let's put it this way I don't typically like or order burgers at all. I tasted and ate a quarter of the 152 burger, it was so freaking good! It has coleslaw, homemade bbq sauce and chips. Sounds weird but it's not it really works! And I usually have to smother onions rings in ketchup. Not these, they are straight up yummy, no extra anything needed. Oh and the fries had this awesome seasoning on them, delicious. One day we wanted to find a new place so we started searching and this place was on top of the results so we decided to drive there and try their burgers. The place was pretty busy when we got there. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful and I learned later that the person who took our order was actually the owner. They came to our table two times to make sure everything is good and we are satisfied with the food. The food was really good and we enjoyed the quality, the taste and the way the food was served. The place was pretty clean and well maintained and I can say that's probably my number one burger restaurant in Edmonton. We have tried 5 different burgers so far and 4 milkshakes They were all awesome and very delicious. Location was the biggest factor on why it took me so long to try this place out, but luckily I've been sending a lot more time on the North end. Much like a lot of the gems on the north end, YEGBurger is hidden in between a residential area, right around the corner of 152 Ave assuming that's why the infamous "152" came about surrounding YEGBurger as a brand. The eatery is 100% halal which is the first I've heard so far for a burger joint in Edmonton! The guys behind the counter are super friendly and personable, the space is more a casual flare, nice relaxed burger and milkshake joint. Return Of the Mac - ($9) - YEGBurgers' remake of The Big Mac, the most original component of this burger was their RMT sauce, which was pretty close replica of the OG. Pretty tasty overall. 152 Burger - ($9) - Ordered from recommendation of the clerk who said this was probably the most popular one of the bunch. GO-TO order for basically any newbie coming to visit for their first time. This burger was packed with the regular fittings of a hamburger except it had additional goodies like coleslaw, chips and their own BBQ sauce. Chili Cheese Poutine - ($10) - Fries topped with the regular chili cheese fittings; cheese sauce, gravy, chili onions and tomatoes. It was alright. Barbican drink - Supposedly really popular malt drink in the Middle East. Comes in a glass bottle that looks like it's beer, it isn't beer and not alcoholic at all! We tried the pineapple flavor and it was really refreshing. First time trying and we liked it! Overall, we let full and satisfied. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No, but it was decent, well-made burger nonetheless. Not quite somewhere I'd drive out of my way for. The really great thing about the joint is the fact that they are fully halal and locally owned! I heard good things about this place so had to go try it. My husband had the MP burger and I had the mushroom one. Both were with hand made patties (no frozen crap) and were loaded with cheese and toppings. Mine was dripping and oh so messy but also so good. Fries were hand cut from whole potatoes with skin on. Crispy and well seasoned. Didn't even need ketchup. We have to go back to try the onion rings because they were sold out. read more

This place is minutes from my home, but I never made the effort to stop in. This year I have been trying to check off all the places that I haven't been yet. We were craving burgers and headed here. Ample parking lot and super easy to find. It was a bit after the normal dinner time so it wasn't too busy. We ordered and sat to wait for our food. Mostly booths, a couple tables, and one bigger table for bigger groups. The food came out quickly, but apparently not to their standards. They apologized for the delay. I had the 152 Burger and Ferrero Rocher shake. Firstly the portions were too small for the $19 I was paying. I expected a much bigger Burger. The patty was quite thin. I mean, look at the picture. The burger almost looks as small as the dipping sauce container. That should NEVER happen at a burger joint....unless its a slider. The Ferrero Rocher shake was weak tasting. Barely tasted like ferrero rocher. Either they need to make their portions much larger or reduce the price. For what I got today, $12 total is a more realistic price. read more

I prefer Smash* style burgers and Yeg Burger does NOT use this cooking method. It appears to be either frozen or pre-formed patties and probably 4oz size. The finished burger does feel a bit small but it's filling enough. Their fries are legit though. Hand cut, soaked to remove starch, and double fried to be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I've literally gone here just to order fries and gravy because they're done right. Their milkshakes are the other item on their menu that I'd go back for. No whipcream please but otherwise their flavours and milk to ice cream ratio is good. And this is coming from someone who is lactose intolerant! The location is a bit out of the way and kinda sketchy but they delivery using skip and uber so you don't ever have to dine in! *Smash burgers are fresh ground beef that is pressed onto a hot flat top grill so that there is nice caramelization on the a patty which makes it crispy. It's often a 4-5 oz patty that has minimal seasoning (salt/pepper) and there needs to be enough fat content (30-40% fat) in the ground beef to keep the patty juicy. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time, given the rave reviews. I finally found myself sort of in the area so I could try it. I ordered a burger with the"RTM" sauce, and the feature milkshake. It's definitely a respectable burger, with good seasoning. I would prefer the bun be toasted a wee bit more as the bottom bun was getting a little soggy. The milkshake was good, and could easily be shared between two people. Looking forward to dining in whenever that becomes available. Here's what we ordered: 1. 152 Burger (CAD 9) : I was initially planning to order "Return of The Mac" but everywhere indoors; 152 was advertised a lot- probably one of their best sellers and hence decided to go with the same! So in this burger you have your beef patty, chips, colesalaw, chips and sauces- YEG BBQ, Mayo! The infusion of flavors were amazing and it's so filling for one person (looking at a heavy meal here). 2. Fries (CAD 4): Good long hand cut fries. 3. Ferraro Rocher Shake (CAD 6): I had high hopes on their milkshakes but unfortunately it was such a dissapointment. They put in real chocolates in it and topped it with whipped cream. Finally got to try this place out. Price may seem a bit high for just a burger, but if you consider that you normally pay about $16 for a burger and fries at places like Joey's or Earl's, then it's about the norm. This is especially true if you like your burgers freshly made in house. I ordered the Go2 Burger and side of poutine fries. Both were good and love the in house sauce and the fresh cut fries, beats the generic frozen fries. Next time may also try one of the shakes, but since was going for some beers after, decided to not order one. Nice small space with a few tables. The location is in a neighborhood strip mall so can be easy to miss. But welll worth it to go try one of their burgers. Always love to support local businesses and will be back. read more

Edmonton finally has a burger joint in the northside! YEG Burger opened up in a little strip-mall area off of 121 Street. Their menu is kept simple with burgers, poutines, smokies/dogs, and milkshakes. Burgers, smokies, and dogs are 100% certified Halal. I tried out one of their milkshakes because I feel like a visit to any burger joint isn't complete without one. They offer multiple flavours: double Reese, Oreo, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, vanilla, mixed berry, and Tony's banana & honey. I tried their Ferrero Rocher milkshake and let me tell you this... It tasted EXACTLY like a Ferrero Rocher! It was honestly one of the best milkshakes I've had in my entire life. No, it doesn't look that special but it was soooo good! It was topped with a bit of whipped cream and had the right consistency - not too thick, not too thin. If you're a fan of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, do yourself a favour and drive to YEG Burger for one of these delicious shakes. I decided to order a Breakfast Burger as well as a side of fries. My burger came with a sunny side egg, lettuce, mayo, and YEG sauce. The patty was thick and juicy, and the bun was fresh. Their YEG sauce is made up of three main ingredients: mayo, ketchup, and balsamic vinaigrette. Some other ingredients are thrown in there but that's a secret for the owner! I love having eggs on burgers except sometimes it does get a bit messy, like with this one. The egg yolk overpowered the YEG sauce for my burger though. The fries were fresh and crispy, with a bit of salt on them but I didn't mind it. My friend got the Donair Burger for himself, which comes with a burger patty, donair meat, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and sweet sauce. He really liked it and said it was very filling. If you're in the northside area, YEG Burger would be a good place to stop by to satisfy your burger cravings! Why eat at a burger chain when you can eat local? For me, I'll be back to satisfy my Ferrero Rocher milkshake cravings. read more

I was craving a burger and wanted to support a local company vs the fast food joints so picked a place I've driven by numerous times...I always say, I wanna try it and never do so today, was the day and I am so glad I went! The MP burger was delicious, simple and fresh and the bun was light and fresh... so delicious!! The cheese fries, well... I haven't found a place that has these and I am happy to have YEG burgers, as these fries were a gooey yummy mess the actual fries were so large and tasted fresh and with the cheese so delicious.... this will be a place I till visit when I am craving a burger! Sorry Edmonton but there's no way this is the best burger joint in town. Ordered the Havarti Cheese burger advertised with two grilled cheese sandwiches. Nope. Only one. And it sat too long before it was delivered to our table. Zero flavor, zippo, none except for the pickle. Which really doesn't count. I can say for certain that this was the most boring tasting burger I have ever had in YEG. Wife ordered the 152 Burger with poutine fries. She asked for cheese curds and it came with shredded. She didn't think much of her burger and could name ten burger places with better taste and service. Tried their 152 burger because I'm a sucker for chips and although messy, I liked how the flavours and textures worked together. We also tried the Havarti grilled cheese burger - and really, can you ever go wrong with grilled cheese sandwiches as your buns? I think not! Service was really nice - we sat by the counter and were given a milkshake because she had made the wrong flavour for a different order and offered us the extra one (We will never turn down bonus milkshakes, btw. We tried the GO 2 burger & the mushroom burger, the kids had kid's cheeseburgers & we all shared fries & a Fererro Rocher milkshake. Everything was made to order and absolutely delicious. The buns were fresh and soft (& usually I can take or leave the bun), the patty to bun ratio was perfect. The sauce on the mushroom burger was fantastic, the mushrooms were fresh (not the soggy canned kind). The decor & clean modern, it's a hidden gem on the north side. This one is definitely a hidden gem. It is located in an out-of-the-way strip mall in north Edmonton. I was tipped off by another great burger lover, Mr. Gerry Gratziano. When he recommends a burger place, you listen! If you have tried the burgers at Re:Grub then you will appreciate YEGburger. So besides being hidden away in a discreet location, this place has another unique quality - everything on the menu is Halal or Zabiha. (Beef bacon is available as well) The owners are wonderful at supporting their Muslim community; they have currently adjusted their opening hours to accommodate Ramadan. The atmosphere is minimalistic with lots of wood. There is definitely a "street vibe" with the graffiti-type mural on the long wall. There is plenty of seating, booths along the wall, and tables in the main area. I'm not sure that I would bring a huge group in, but I am sure they would be able to accommodate. Fresh and natural ingredients are the theme of the menu. I would highly recommend the "featured burger" for those that would like to have a taste adventure. On my visit the featured burger was buttermilk chicken and waffles with sriracha maple syrup. I can't even remember which burger my husband had, but it was super delicious looking as well. You can even lettuce wrap it if you are worried about the carbs. It is nice to see healthier options available, although there are no salads on the menu here. The burgers cater to a wide range of tastes and are very creative. Sauces are made in house (YEGmustard and YEGbbq sauce to name a couple). There is a donair burger and a falafel burger on the menu as well as Havarti Grilled Cheese and Parmigiano Reggiano They also have hotdogs, poutine, and milkshakes. Not just your typical flavours either; double Reese, Oreo, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher etc., and they are only $5!! Just the milkshake is worth the drive. The joint is family friendly, accessible and has a parking lot. The kids menu is tiny with only four items, but I am sure they are just as delicious as everything else on the menu. There is no alcohol served here. The staff was very friendly. Your burgers are "made to order" and brought to your table. Make sure you get lots of napkins, you are going to need them. It's messy, but it's "good messy". It might not be the greatest place for a first date, but you will definitely not go home hungry. Economic!! The most expensive burger on the menu is $10. The pricing was refreshing because I have had a lot of gourmet burgers in the city that are double that price. There is no snooty, epicurean fare here. I ordered based on reviews, and like some others do not get the high rating for this place was like #4 on some lists. The buttermilk fried chicken burger is agreed apon as very good. They filled a custom order for my additions. They put waaaaaaay too much mayo on it was swimming and sogged the bun. The fries were good but soggy. The GO burger was low average bland and plain. The ferrero rochero shake was ok a bit milky and cocoa bits not all blended probably used a hazelnut flavoring, would consider but likely not reorder due to 4.75 price/value/size is like a small. Would order fried chicken burgers again (easy mayo) but cannot rate higher due to burgers since this is called YEG BURGERS. read more

I have been here a couple of times and the burgers have been consistent. Had a mushroom burger the first time and then a GO 2 burger the second time. Both were great! I found this place when I was searching for Halal food. I wanted to try it out and I was glad I did. First time I went there I ordered a Go2Burger ( it is like cheeseburger ) with fries and drink. I loved the meat, it was not dry and it was cooked just the way I wanted. Got to tell you though fries were good but too salty. But still it didn't affect me on writing my good review. Just let them know if you don't want your fries too salty. So far I have been here for three times and I also tried their onion rings, it is okay nothing special and nothing bad about it :) I love the store name YegBurger . Place has plenty of seatings.
