Was wanting to this place for a while. I drive by it all the time. Today I went and was really disappointed. My burger was ok but I had to send it back because they put mustard on it when I requested no mustard. My dinner companions burger was the basic bitch she also made a special request. They made hers right but somehow got mustard all over the wrapping so it tasted like mustard as well. They did replace my burger but was still waiting and staring at my dinner companion while she ate her burger then she got the pleasure of eating . Service was ok and very basic decor. Ample parking available

New burger place near Southgate mall is fantastic. Flavors were great, hand made patties, and fries to die for. I wish the fries order was smaller though, is too much for one person with a burger. The interior ambiance is rustic like a picnic fun for kids and families. I'll be back

    The charming ambience.

The picnic tables are uncomfortable unless you have more padding on the back than I do. But they are a cheerful red. Almost every burger except the one I wanted - the fungi burger- was available in a gluten free version. I had the sugar skull, which was tasty but a bit sweet, not what I should've ordered. The hand smashed patty was good but on the small side. Most would probably want an extra patty on theirs. I liked the gluten free bun, though it was saucy and messy to eat. They supply napkins at the table, which is a plus, because I needed about five of them. Overall, I thought the burger was a satisfying meal, though a bit sweet. The teenage girls in the front didn't seem to do anything but take cash and bring out the food. With a little service, they might make better tips.

I'm a burger fanatic! I've been to most of the burger spots in Edmonton. Heard some really good things about Backstairs, and finally decided to check it out. I had no idea what I'd been missing. I will say, I wasn't a fan of the service, and I will dock them points. We were greeted and seated promptly, and the host just left us. Never asked if we'd been there before, or told us how the ordering system worked. I also wasn't a fan of the paying before you got the food. At this price point, I'd expect to pay after the meal, like ahh other dine in establishment. Onto the food review. First off; presentation. Our burgers came disassembled, with the top bun with sauce beside the bottom bun with the remainder of the burger toppings. I prefer that method. Secondly: taste. I took my first bite, and I was blown away by how incredible it tasted. The burger itself had a great meat flavour, albeit it was a bit dry, next time I'll order it medium rare, instead of medium well. I compare this burger to Woodshed, which is my all time favourite burger in Edmonton. We also ordered a side of their Crack Fries. Let me say, these were the best fries I've ever had. The fries were perfectly crispy, tithe y had a spicy cheese sauce and sour cream, and even with all the sauces, the fries held their crispiness throughout the duration of our meal. They never got soggy. They were amazing! I'd go back and order just these! Backstairs, you did a great job, but the host (I get it's not your fault) but the host needs to figure out the hosting aspect of his job.

The OG $14 Backstairs Burger 10344 105 St NW Over a year ago, I heard many good things about Backstairs Burger, a pop-up joint created by chefs Levi Biddlecombe and Robert Wick and operating out of the WHY NOT Cafe & Bar. I'm usually skeptical about everything - religion, politicians, the news, etc. - but the praise I heard for Backstairs Burger was overwhelming and hard to miss, sort of like the bible-thumping preachers on a Whyte Avenue street corner. Unfortunately, I never got around to trying Backstairs Burger because WHY NOT tragically burned down in December of last year. Rather than succumbing to this tragedy and calling it a day, the resilient Levi and Robert started operating out of Boxer Kitchen & Bar. And then, they eventually found their way to their current location, 5th Street Food Hall. A product of JustCook Kitchens, the 5th Street Food Hall is a four-restaurant collective that looks like a newly-minted mall food court, without the ubiquitous American fast-food chains. Yesterday, I made a thirty-minute drive to the 5th Street Food Hall with my wife and four-month-old daughter. When I entered the food hall, my eyes zeroed in on a familiar face dining in front of me. It was a "Mean Girl" from my high school years. The desi equivalent of Regina George, even though she lied to everyone and said she was Lebanese. I've had an 18-year-old grudge against this now middle-aged woman for breaking my wife's TI-83 Graphing Calculator right before she had to write a Chemistry 30 exam, but I wasn't at 5th Street Food Hall to reignite a high school feud over a TI-83. I was there only to try the OG Burger - one of the most revered burgers in all of Edmonton. The wait for my burger wasn't that long, which was a blessing because the 5th Street Food Hall's irksome radio soundtrack consisted of forgettable pop songs, broken up with glib Wal-Mart commercials. My customized, onion-free OG consisted of a Goliath medium-rare beef patty, maharaja-sized bacon strips, tomato, shredded lettuce, American cheese, fried egg, and something appropriately called "crack sauce." I was expecting a good burger, but I've had plenty of good burgers from all the respected burger joints in Edmonton (YEG Burger, Woodshed, Meat the Bun, Fox, etc.). Good wasn't going to cut it this time around - I drove thirty minutes for this, and I needed a five-star masterpiece. And Backstairs did the unthinkable by creating a life-altering paragon of a burger, blowing my mind and making me realize that, sometimes, the hype is justified. The OG is the most incredible burger I've ever had from a burger-centric joint, and everything about it is marvellous. The medium-rare beef patty is divine; it's enormous, and its delicious juices penetrated my freshly-trimmed beard, resulting in a pleasant umami aroma throughout the evening. The fragrant and oversized bacon strips crooned to my agnostic soul, telling me that God would forgive me for eating the forbidden flesh tonight because it was that damn good. And the homemade "crack sauce," spread generously all over the Portuguese Bakery bun, is "something like a phenomenon," giving me a better high than the Tyrone Biggums $450,000 Crack Party. I could try to go on and on, telling you how great the OG Burger is, but I can't. I don't have the proper adjectives to do this perfect thing justice. I'm not a good enough writer. All I can say is that the OG Burger is one of the few wonders of our city, and it needs to be experienced by every self-respecting Edmontonian. My Rating: 5.5/5 (Flawless Victory)

This was a pop up burger shop but now I hear that they have a permanent location downtown. We ordered a few things...all were good. I loved my OG burger. The poutines were flavourful and the fries were cooked perfectly. One disclaimer though, they cook thier burgers medium rare. I really appreciate this because i think that is the best way to serve burgers but it may make people squimish. Hubby really enjoyed it this way.

This pop-up burger joint in serving handmade gourmet burgers Wednesday's to Saturday 5-10pm. We got the sugar skull burger which was so delicious and the frisky brisket which was also amazing!! The sauce, the crunch, the perfectly cooked burger patties sooooo goood! The crack fries were also so yummy, next time I'll ask for a side of the crack sauce cuz it's EPIC!! Highly recommend if you're looking for some yummy burgers to try. They're made by a couple local chefs including Chef Levi of Why Not? Who's restaurant recently had a fire and had to close down temporarily. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed. We wanted to try the chicken wings and the General Sanders sandwich but they were sold out of chicken!! Next time I'll order ahead...took a while for the food to be ready so definitely worth it to call ahead before you go pick up.

Pyro used to be my go to burger place. If I would have tried Fox before, it would have been my #1…read more Best burger I have ever had! Thin crispy patties and a nice fresh bun. Great service, great food, a tad pricey but you get what you paid for.

We adventured to this burger spot because we heard they were offering free kids meals for the month…read moreof October, the caveat was that you had to purchase a regular meal for each kids meal. But we have 2 kids and 2 adults so it worked out for us! The kids menu items are a hot dog, a cheeseburger or Mac and cheese. All the portions for the kids looked really big which I appreciated. My boys are eaters and it was nice to see that they got just as many French fries on their plate as an adult portion. And PS the garlic fries are amazing!!! I'm so happy we got 3 orders of the garlic fries and I was curious and tried the animal fries as well- they were different...tasty but definitely a unique taste. The closest I can describe it is cheese wiz and mustard and caramelized onions. Very potent, I saw they have an Animal burger which probably uses that same mixture combo. Animal fries cost an extra $4 so for the extra cost I would probably just go with the garlic fries every time because they don't have an extra cost. I ordered the most popular Bacon Pepper Smash ($21 single $25 double) and really enjoyed the flavor and the price was on point. Smash sauce, pickled peppers, bacon, American cheddar, iceberg. The single was definitely enough for myself but with the thinner patties I could see why some people order the double. Hubby had the Inferno ($21 single $25 double) Inferno sauce, pickled peppers, crispy fried onions, American Swiss, iceberg. The sauce was spicy! Good but spicy! And it kind of overpowered the whole thing. Parking down the side street was a bit of a walk but not terrible and right beside this place is a cool looking liquor store and Kind Ice Cream across the road. The space itself was pretty big and we felt like we weren't too smushed up on booth next to the next table. Bathrooms are downstairs, mind your head! And there was a baby change table in the women's bathroom.
