Great spot for a burger downtown. Service was good, food was quick and delicious, and the atmosphere was on point for a hole in the wall burger shack.

I have never been to the Jack's Burger Shack in St. Albert which is somewhat of an institution, but we were downtown with kiddo and decided to try their newish location in Edmonton. It is casual but clean. Chairs aren't so comfortable to sit in, but it is a faster food restaurant. i dislike restaurants that I have to go up an order. This is a personal bias. I am the only cook in my house and am constantly cooking/ cleaning/ serving, so when I go out I want to be served. Lots of selection of burgers on the menu. I was disappointed that their veggie burger was scratched off their list. I will have to go there another time for that. So I decided on the inferno burger - standard w/ jalapeños, cheese, + banana pepper marmalade. I had the creamsicle milkshake and ordered fries for me and kiddo to split. Husband had the Downtown dining week special the Hangover burger - beef, pickle, ketchup + mustard on 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. The special came with fries and milkshake. Hubby chose the Darth Vader milkshake which is Pepsi and vanilla ice cream Food came out in a promptly manner. The orders were huge. The patty is thin, but don't be decieved, it is really filling. Bun was fresh and soft, toppings were crunchy and light. However, I could have used more heat in my burger. It wasn't that inferno. My husband's burger was delish, and incredibly filling being that the burger was shoved between two grilled cheese sandwiches. The fries portion was massive. Even with our fry monster kiddo, we couldn't finish them. They were tasty, fresh and clearly home made. Milkshakes were excellent and good price point. Loved them Staff were the best. They made the dining experience great. They checked up on us constantly. Brought extra things for us for our daughter (who has a disability) to make her eating more comfortable. And they made us feel really welcome with our daughter which is not always the case when we dine with her because of her visable disablity. It says a lot about the quality of the staff there. That type of service was just as good, if not better than some of the fine dining places I review. I would come back here again for a quick, filling and tasty meal. Super impressed.

Sensational burgers! Why go to McDonald's for a burger craving when you can go here for pretty much the same price these days? This food is fresh and made to order with TLC. The buns are soft and the meat is so juicy. Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious milkshakes with fun flavours.

This place is a LEGIT great burger stop. The freshness of the beef and the quality bun produced an amazing burger experience.

The original Jack's Burger Shack has been a staple institution in St. Albert for many years now and for good reason. Their offerings have been consistently good, especially when you're wanting a burger, fries and milkshake kinda fix. Happy to see that they've opened a 2nd location right in the heart of downtown Edmonton. The space is small but spacious with several tables to eat-in at. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. Service is friendly and be forewarned if there is an sort of event downtown which brings people down (read: Oilers game) you can be sure they will sell out of items earlier. Luckily we were able to get the last order fries available on a Saturday evening at around 5:45pm as well as one of maybe 12 burgers left. I ordered the original, my husband ordered the shroom burger and they offer a kid's meal for which we ordered a hamburger with added cheese for our little guy. Their burgers are the thin kind fried on a flat top grill and served on a soft fluffy white bun. It was perfectly salted and perfectly greasy. The french fries (more than enough to share for 2 people) were good but their thick cut brunch potatoes were amazing (they offered to sub the alternative potatoes with the kid's meal since we had the last order of fries already). We also ordered a Malteaser Milkshake which I happily tried despite my inability to digest dairy LOL. All in all a great addition for a decently priced meal downtown especially if you're in the mood!

Welcome to Jack's burger everyone where for every burger you get a beating! Came here for the first time. This place has violence and assault with its service. Cops were called. I got assaulted by the owner on the first visit. Damn the owner gets physical with his customers watch out for his temper!! Story: I went in to try their burger. I ordered a burger and fries. There were barely any veggies. I asked for him to add some veggies on there, he started complaining about food cost rises. If you don't like it leave. I said I paid for the service. Please provide it. He became defensive and would not give me neither is a burger, nor the money back. I said I will be writing a review for this service. He said I am popular and am well known. He thought his fame would cover for his angry mistakes. He called the cops to remove me without giving me the burger or the money back. I sat patiently waiting for the cops all of the sudden the owner decided to launch an assault on me while I was sitting at the dining table. I was recording, so he tried to rip out my phone from my hand in order to destroy evidence against him. He grabbed me by the throat. He grabbed my arms, my shoulder he pinned me to the ground. He threw me on the tables and chairs. This guy is an absolute maniac. He lost his mind!!!!!! Whoooohoooo welcome to Jack's Burger everyone! Cops arrived, and they asked me if I want to charge him with assault. They said he has not had any record in the past and so I let it go with an apology so he doesn't have to hire a lawyer and pay money. This good gesture, hopefully will make him think twice next time before attacking anyone. And maybe not just watch out people. We have one angry tempered owner here.

It was good. I wouldn't say great, I wouldn't go out of my way to return. Patty's are flat and almost crispy.

Pyro used to be my go to burger place. If I would have tried Fox before, it would have been my #1…read more Best burger I have ever had! Thin crispy patties and a nice fresh bun. Great service, great food, a tad pricey but you get what you paid for.

We adventured to this burger spot because we heard they were offering free kids meals for the month…read moreof October, the caveat was that you had to purchase a regular meal for each kids meal. But we have 2 kids and 2 adults so it worked out for us! The kids menu items are a hot dog, a cheeseburger or Mac and cheese. All the portions for the kids looked really big which I appreciated. My boys are eaters and it was nice to see that they got just as many French fries on their plate as an adult portion. And PS the garlic fries are amazing!!! I'm so happy we got 3 orders of the garlic fries and I was curious and tried the animal fries as well- they were different...tasty but definitely a unique taste. The closest I can describe it is cheese wiz and mustard and caramelized onions. Very potent, I saw they have an Animal burger which probably uses that same mixture combo. Animal fries cost an extra $4 so for the extra cost I would probably just go with the garlic fries every time because they don't have an extra cost. I ordered the most popular Bacon Pepper Smash ($21 single $25 double) and really enjoyed the flavor and the price was on point. Smash sauce, pickled peppers, bacon, American cheddar, iceberg. The single was definitely enough for myself but with the thinner patties I could see why some people order the double. Hubby had the Inferno ($21 single $25 double) Inferno sauce, pickled peppers, crispy fried onions, American Swiss, iceberg. The sauce was spicy! Good but spicy! And it kind of overpowered the whole thing. Parking down the side street was a bit of a walk but not terrible and right beside this place is a cool looking liquor store and Kind Ice Cream across the road. The space itself was pretty big and we felt like we weren't too smushed up on booth next to the next table. Bathrooms are downstairs, mind your head! And there was a baby change table in the women's bathroom.
