    a cup of ice cream

Decided on this restaurant for dinner, was there just after 5 pm. The restaurant itself was empty but clean. Was greeted right away as I looked at the menu to figure out my order. It had been several years since I'd last been to this location. I tried the High Priest Burger, Poutine and Salted Caramel shake. The shake was tasty but I found the amount inside the cup was less than it should be. The Poutine was great. The Burger was good although the condiments on the burger were lacking. I also remember the Burger patties being thicker the last visit. Shrinkflation maybe?

So today I went to this place for the first time, the service was good and the servers were very nice however the food was fucking horrible. the food was super soggy, the fries were totally overcooked. I hope you try to do better.

It was very sad to see how the quality of customer service went down! The secret menu is now forcing you to sign up on their web site!! Really? Lol Also out of two washrooms, one was completely out of service and the other one had no soap! When we informed the staff, their response was: "ok..." :) I watched the happy staff dancing to music and nobody went to the washroom to fix the issue! It's just sad because they lost a loyal customer. But a note to the business owner: In this year, 2020, customer satisfaction is not even enough to make the business successful. Now businesses should try for "customer delight" I can tell you as a customer I was far from being satisfied!

This was my second time eating a burger from here. My first experience was takeout. I wanted to write a review after dining in, when the food is hot and fresh. I think food tastes better when you eat it right away. Unless it's pizza or something. Leftover pizza is good. Today, I decided to try the Holy Smokes burger. It's a double patty burger with breaded jalapeños inside. I opted for all the condiments and toppings, except for tomatoes and onions. In retrospect I regret not including tomatoes into my burger. I think tomatoes would've added a bit more flavour. I just wasn't in the mood for tomatoes today. I also had a side of poutine (which I shared with my husband) and a milkshake. I don't think there's anything special about the burgers I've eaten here. Even the breaded jalapeños couldn't convince me that this burger was different than other burgers. I will say the jalapeños did add a bit of spicy kick. I just wasn't impressed by the quality of the bread and the beef patties. The burger was large and I needed to take huge bites to eat it. It was messy to eat. I used a pile of napkins by the time I finished my burger. I like the Riggs and Murtaugh milkshake. It's sweet and tasty. Can't really go wrong with vanilla and chocolate. It's the perfect consistency to drink with a straw. They have a variety of milkshakes to choose from. The poutine was good. I appreciated the decent amount of cheese curd and gravy. I unfortunately didn't take a picture of the poutine but it looked like your typical poutine. The fries were also okay. Overall, this is a fast food restaurant that serves okay burgers. Next time, I might try their secret menu items to see if there's anything exciting that I'm missing. There are many menu items that I still need to explore.

    OG burger

Burger priest 8.5/10 I had the og cheeseburger. It was phenomenal but my only complaint is way too much grease. All that grease from the og cheeseburger hurt my stomach. But overall the burger was amazing and had a lot of taste to it. The burger was a bit messy though. I would recommend to wait till you get home to eat the og cheese burger. The fries were pretty good. Not alot to say about them.

Affordable for the burger but about 30 people got their orders before us. The place was full of people waiting, not eating. I recommend ordering online before you go. We ordered two high priest burgers. See the pictures. The top bun and burger had zero toppings or sauce between them. The burger patties seemed deep fried, and a bit dry. I took the first bun off the top, and set it aside, then took the middle bun and put it on top. Then anywhere there was no condiments I added ketchup. Then I stuck the whole thing in the microwave for one minute, (I like my burger hot) . It was ok for an 11 dollar burger. I don't think I gave it the best possible conditions for taste, taking it home-so I do plan on giving The BurgerPriest another chance.

Bacon double cheeseburger for $9.99 @the burger preist

Burger was disappointing. Thin boring bun. Barely there toppings. They offer a 12 minute burger at lunchtime or else its free here. Location is in a busy downtown area but luckily has loads of free parking. I ordered the bacon double cheeseburger. It came relatively quick in less than 5 minutes with noone else there. The burger appeared quite small for $10. But the meat quality was good and it was extremely flavourful. The part that was dissapointing was the toppings were barely there and looked slightly soggy (lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions). Seriously it had to be the smallest tomato slices i have ever seen in my life and half a peice of lettuce, hardly a slice of a onion and two tiny pickles. It did not add to the taste of the burger as there was not enough veggies for every bite. Either a tomato, or lettuce but never both in one bite bc of the portions. The bun also fell apart as i held it and it was very thin that it fell apart as i ate my burger. Overall the burger was okay but i could find a better burger for a few dollars less at so many other places. I wont be rushing back and id much rather go to wendys, harveys, or fatburger for a significant price difference with better quality.

Holy Smoke...double patty, cheese, and deep fried jalapeños.
    Mark Y.

Definitely one of my favourite burger spots in the city when I want something quick. Their burger patties are nice, juicy and thick! They have some pretty creative (and intimidating) options. My favourite is the Holy Smoke...double patty, cheese, and deep fried jalepenos. They also have a gourmet Big Mac option called the High Priest. Their poutine and milk shakes are also very good. For the scary stuff (as in scary for your heart), check out their "secret menu". I was pretty excited when I heard this T.O. export came to town. Pro-tip: like most burgers, they should be enjoyed fresh off the grill. I've made the mistake of ordering through a food delivery service and the experience was pretty lack lustre. It's much better when I order online, then pick it up fresh from the shop, and I'll eat it in the car. With this pandemic, we've grown used to these "car picnics".

Being the closest burger place to my office, i came here for a lunch. I reached around 1 pm and it was completely packed up. I placed my order of Chicken low priest and had to wait for around 15-20 minutes for order. I relished the combination of fried chicken, Burger Priest's secret sauce, jalapeño and american cheddar served in a sesame seed bun. Rating: Taste: 4/5 Ambience:3/5 Service: 4/5 Value for money: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 ( I would love to explore other items on their menu as well on my next visit)

Why five stars? Because the team there is awesome and it makes the food taste even better! Went there the past two nights and 3 times total in my Edmonton stay, I'm addicted to the tokens. Anyway the staff Monday night and Tuesday night were awesome, I came in close to closing around 945 and instead of being annoyed like a lot of places they were accommodating and choice choice pieces of chicken. For my sandwiches. Thanks guys can't wait to come back!

    That's a thick chicken burger!

When it comes to great juicy burgers, this should be one of the first thing that comes to mind! You should make the most of that walk friendly location as you are heavy when you walk out of there. It has a great location, downtown doorstep, it's perfect for that feel me up before/after going out. It is a longer than normal wait fast food but the burgers are worth the wait. Very, very tasty burgers that are a bit pricey. They do not offer meal combo so it gets up there. I had the Token with a side of fries. The Token is everything I want in a chicken burger. I really enjoyed the mix of hot sauce and blue cheese in there. I believe the fries are made with sweet potatoes. All in all, when I crave a burger, that's where you'll find me!

Just a basic cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato, but it tastes so good!

This is probably my new favourite fast food/high end burger place in Edmonton... and that's saying a lot. Particularly as I'm not religious at all and found their original marketing campaign for this location to be frustrating/annoying, I'm surprised to be giving it this high of a rating, but the food is just plain delicious so I can't fault them on this too badly. It is not as if they're shoving religion down my throat or anything -- in fact the clean restaurant has some of the most delicious burgers I've had in a long time -- the meat is made into patties here and the cheese is absolutely so good -- I've only tried two burgers on the menu but totally look forward to trying more! And even the simple ice cream float and milkshakes are good (I need to have a milkshake next time). But yeah I think my default is going to be a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato and occasionally I'll splurge for the pricier options too. But yeah. Go at non peak times for the least lineups (eg. not during lunch hour or between 5-8pm on weekdays -- I've had good luck going at 4pm or 4:30pm!). When you pay you'll get a number. When they call your number, be sure to drop it in the bin they have for numbers and pick up your meal. The seating area is more comfortable on the tall stools as they have back rests to them rather than the backless short stools. I love the fact that the tomatoes taste like tomatoes and not like water. I like the portabello mushroom in the option (and the ooey gooey cheese!). I enjoy the meat patty the most but I'm sure to be trying more items as time goes on because it really is a delicious spot for a burger in downtown Edmonton!

There was one customer eating when I went in, then after ordering a couple came in, then a group of 3. I waited just over 15 minutes. It would have been nice to sip on the bubble tea while I waited but you can't have one person taking phone orders, counter orders, cooking, & making bubble teas & not have something suffer. Jollibee fried chicken…read more I remember when the first restaurant of this Filipino chain opened up here in Edmonton, hearing that some people camped out, and I witnessed the super long line-ups of apparently loyal Jollibee followers that were there daily, the line-ups of which lasted for a couple of weeks. Good thing they had the large tents to shelter the cue from the elements as they made their way through line. I thought to myself, "Wow, I'm not sure if I've ever seen a line-up like that for the opening of a restaurant before! Once the lines go down, I'll have to try one day!" But not being in any hurry, I did some reading and research for what seemed to make the chicken so special, and tried making some "copy-cat" recipes at home, so the urgency of trying the real thing waned. Now that several more Jollibees have opened up over the past couple of years in Edmonton and through the Pandemic, and the long lines have dwindled, we finally decided to try the fried chicken. Having previous experience with Filipino style spaghetti, we gave that a pass. We ordered a 10 piece bucket to go, and the cashier allowed our request to substitute 2 pieces of the regular with spicy (though I like spicy, it usually covers the taste of other spices so I prefer to add something later). A pleasant surprise were the 2 containers of gravy that accompanies the order of chicken. The crunch of the evenly coated fried chicken was very, very good, nicely seasoned with a background taste of five spice. The meat was moist and juicy, and I'd guess that the pieces were brined prior to coating and frying. The pieces of thigh and drumsticks were quite large and meaty, much larger and more even than what KFC provides (Canadian KFC seems to use smaller pieces that the US does, but it's been a while for either since we've last had some). The evenly numbered pieces of drumsticks and thighs overflowed the bucket supplied, and it was impossible to fit the lid on, so the lid was supplied perched on top. As KFC doesn't seem to be as tasty as I remember it in the past, again admittedly a while since I had any, but we both thought Jollibee was much tastier. The 2 pieces of spicy were a surprise! As I said, I like spicy foods, and Jollibee's spice level was not disappointing! Likely too spicy for many people, so I'd advise caution for those not so inclined. As expected, if there were other spices like five spice powder in the mix, it would be difficult to pick it out, but as was the regular, the spicy chicken was very flavourful. The gravy was very good, not spicy and with a stronger umami and slightly sweeter taste than KFC. It went well on the fries that I made at home (par-boiled, tossed in a slurry of corn starch, and double fried for a really satisfying crunch). So Jollibee's fried chicken is certainly worth trying you get the chance, if only to see what the fuss is about. Certainly better than most other fried chickens available. I can see why Jollibee has become the successful chain that it has with its legions of loyal fans.
