Huge fan of this place and one of my favorites for late night eats and happy hour....when in Downtown, DC. This is your place to go to catch with friends, eat in large group settings or simply, go out for a good brew and catch up on a few games.  The restaurant itself tends to draw large crowds on the weekends and during major sports events. So, on to the libation and food, we tried a cool drink called the Pineapple Express which was great, and a strong pour of alcohol.  Definitely, a good choice for the ladies....fellas who are into vodka cocktails too.  Our beers....the Devils Backbone - Seasonal (Bock) were amazing! Cold, bright and flavorful. We both ordered appetizers.  For me, the fish tacos (which was Atlantic Pollock) and my  friend got the firecracker shrimp. We ordered the smoked Old Fashioned and it's definitely a show with strong smoked flavor. The midnight sangria was sweet and smooth with nice fruity notes. We came in here around 9pm with a big party and no reservation. We were aware it would probably take a while to get seated which we were okay with. Once we were seated upstairs the service was very very slow. We kept asking them to switch one tv to a different basketball game and it never happened and we had to watch the game from our phone. After walking around DC on a very hot summer day, we were looking for the closest place to grab a light meal. Yard house was the first place we set eyes on so we decided to try it out. I've seen yard house all over the country l, but never tried it till going to this Chinatown location. Very nice atmosphere and large variety in foods. We ordered a Margarita pizza and the bread pudding for dessert. We were a party of 2 and didn't want to order anything too heavy so we split both the pizza and dessert. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Our pizza was average, nothing special. The dessert was delicious! The bread was soft and the vanilla bean custard under it was the perfect combination. Also comes with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. The dessert was the real highlight of the trip. Overall a nice place to come. I definitely want visit again to try other menu items! read more

In town for a conference from Atlanta. Always know a good standby in a new city is Yard House. You can almost always count on good food, friendly service, and atmosphere. Not that I was disappointed by my visit to the Yard House in Washington D.C. However unfortunately that wasn't the case on this visit. Shame the bartender was not the most open and interactive staff member I've met. Everyone has bad days at wok. However in the F&B industry, especially the bartender, is someone's first impression of the establishment. She really didn't seem she wanted to be there and hardly came by to check on how things were going. And the bar was hardly full. What's crazy is on my way to the restroom, a server said hello and asked if I was eating there. He quickly rattled off 5 menu items he would absolutely recommend. Good people! We were here in D.C. sightseeing and had dinner here one evening. All the wait staff were very friendly on a crowded night. Between my wife, teenage son, and myself we had the chi ken nachos, fish and chips, Thai pork chop, and chicken fingers. The chicken nachos came out super fast and were very good. We come here often to watch big games. We were there last night to watch the NCAA. It's usually a decent spot to do so. This time, I felt they should be reported to the department of health. The bathrooms were so bad. The container that houses used and spoiled (with blood) sanitary products had no top on it. So in order to use the toilet, my seven year olds leg was 1-2 inches from the blood of multiple people. The unit was 3/4 full. When I told the manager, he blamed the consumers. I'm sorry, that is a health concern. You get that covered or close down the stall, period. The truth is that the bathrooms are not monitored. They left the large plastic soap refill container on the sink to be used by customers instead of actually refilling the soap dispensers. You could not throw away the paper towels because the trash was overflowing to the point that in order to get a clean paper towel, the back of your hand would touch the ones that people disposed of previously, And the handicap stall toilet was clogged. This place is really mismanaged and needs to be inspected. I can't believe the people who cannot keep a sanitary bathroom are making food for people to consume. The service sucked (slow, not providing water for 30 mins after asked, etc.) but that's really the least of it, read more

WOW -- what an awesome experience! Stopped by Yard House for a late-night (~11:30 pm) dinner after a concert at the nearby Capital One Arena and this place blew us away! While there was a wait to be seated (25 mins), it wasn't terrible. There are lots of TVs all over the place playing (at the time) various music videos from the 90s (think MTV the way it used to be), which made the wait almost fun and nostalgic. The A/C was also crankin'; another plus for a post-concert, hot summer night! Once seated at a booth adjacent to the bar, we were served quickly and got drinks right away (which was awesome, because we were pretty parched after the concert). I almost expected shoddy service given the post-pandemic world + time of day + bar atmosphere, but that wasn't the case at all -- warm and attentive from the beginning. The menu is pretty big for a late night kitchen, and has lots of delicious looking/sounding apps and entrees -- it took the wife and I a decent amount of time to finally pick something! I landed on the Korean Ribeye (a bar has to be pretty sure of itself to serve a Korean Ribeye in Chinatown and call it a "House Specialty") and --no lie-- it was one of the best steaks that I've ever had! It was cooked to a perfect medium rare with a great sear, and the soy ginger marinade/glaze gave it a delicious, almost caramelized crust. The accompanying Korean Fries (french fries tossed in a chili sauce) were out of this world! They somehow stayed crispy despite the sauce coating, and were a fun, spicy complement to the sweet steak. The wife got the House Cheesesteak, but called and audible and asked for chicken instead of beef (which the server and kitchen happily did with no grief). The chicken was seasoned well, but the MVP was the Fried Onion Strings topping (which, in actuality, was more like an extra side of thin-cut onion rings). They gave the sandwich an added depth of flavor and texture, and the plain french fries were hot and crispy. The service was solid throughout -- never had to ask for a refill, and even had a manager check on us (a rarity at bars, and definitely late night). As it was getting close to closing time, we opted for two desserts to go: Brookie (cookie dough fudge brownie, chocolate & caramel sauces, vanilla ice cream) and Bread Pudding w/ Crème Anglaise (vanilla bean & caramel sauces, vanilla ice cream, powdered sugar). Not only we're both delicious, they were packaged thoughtfully with separate containers for the ice cream and sauces, and provided silverware and extra napkins without being requested. Went here with family for dinner on a Friday night, and was surprised there was no wait around 6:30pm. It's Yard House, so music was loud enough and the vibe was pretty cool. Menu had plenty of options as usual. We shared the Ahi Nachos appetizer (delicious!), I had a classic cheeseburger (medium) with the house IPA, while wifey had the shrimp tacos. Burger was filling and the beer was a good match. Little man had the tenders and fries. Service was quick and servers were courteous and checked on us appropriately. We were treated decently. I absolutely love Yard House, there is a variety of menu options that are not only tasty but vegetarian friendly. You don't have to wait long for your food to be ready and the service is pretty good. Waiters and Hostess vary in personality so we can't really expect consistency there but the overall experience from Florida locations to the DC Chinatown location is pretty consistent as it relates to the quality and taste of the food. I would say that the dragon fruit lemonade is a bit over-hyped it's tasty but a regular lemonade would also suffice. I love that most items have caloric estimates which help the guests to make informed decisions as it relates to their present nutritional goals. When it comes to selecting a meal catch the YouTube episode on Delish of the 31 top menu items tried, it helps you narrow it down lol ! A bit busy during happy hour (4pm to 7pm), apparently because there are $2 off all beers and -50% for appetisers and pizza, and this is a great deal. The good ole yard house! This yard house has 2 floors. It was my first time seeing it in Chinese. My boyfriend and I were seated fairly quickly when we went around 9pm. We sat in the booth area and the bottom of the table wasn't cleaned. It had tissues and people spilled their drinks on the floor.
