The Yard House has great food and good portions. We have been twice and very pleased with our meals.

3 All hands on deck! That's what it felt like as I sat and watched uniform clad bartenders sprint across the gigantic bar area. Virginia Beach, Palm Springs, Vegas...they came from everywhere, to train the newbies (whose breath was laden with curdled fresh Baileys cream), following close behind them, ensuring no steps were missed. Setting the pace for good service, and even better, highly anticipated late night happy hour (happier hour?) I've been back several times since my first encounter, each time I agree that Yard House is a place where one could get comfortable. The drinks are great, food is consistently 3-3.5/5...and that ain't bad. Favorites on the menu: ceviche (snack) and tacos (of course). The ceviche could honestly use another squeeze of lime, more nacho chips and a nix to the cocktail sauce. It's an afterthought that I never thought to think of, like the deviled eggs that were so forgettable that they almost lost their mention. The tacos are reminiscent of the Taco Bambas and District Tacos of the DMV (no need to worry yourself about finding great authentic tacos in this area, there are none). With options like braised short rib, pork belly and tempura fried Baja tacos, Yard House has truly stepped up to the city swing, accommodating unhipish hipsters and the overzealous foodie. *I can see a UYE in Yard House's future sometime real soon* read more

I mean this is the best way possible but Yard House is everything that was awesome about the TGI Fridays of our youths (minus those tasty, tasty Jack Daniel chicken strips) but updated for 2015. I can't think of any other spot in Springfield that caters to the yuppie crowd as well as Yard House. They have a strong beer list and kitschy cocktail list that includes a "Hawaiian" twist to the Moscow Mule that includes pineapple flavoring. Their menu has tons of variety and includes something from everyone. Want your fries with gravy, fried in duck fat, or truffle oil? Yard House has got your back. Craving a burger, brussel sprouts, tacos, pasta, or perhaps a seared ahi tuna? Sit back baby, Yard House will provide your needs. Yard House is bar food done right. My bacon jam truffle burger was surprisingly juicy, not too big, and flavorful. Not what I expected from a chain restaurant but I'll take it! The boy got the carnita tacos 'vampire style' which included whole cloves of sweet, roasted garlic and a tortilla griddled in fried cheese. The restaurant while lacking in Instagrammable elements, is large and fits large groups for celebrations easily. Whether it's a happy hour or a birthday you can't go wrong! Service was friendly and they easily split up checks which is so clutch when dining with friends. I used to make fun of my friends for spending so much time here, but now that I've tasted their secret (Bacon jam) sauce...I'd gladly come back. Also free wifi! read more

Alright, alright, alright! Super excited to write this review because I honestly had zero expectations for Yard House as I was anticipating for it to be just another crappy chain restaurant inside a mall. I was wrong. They have a good thing going here and I seriously hope that doesn't change. I have to say that they have excellent and very sincere service here. I don't recall the name of our waiter, but he checked up on us often and made us feel really welcome. Since Yard House only opened 2 days ago, I was expecting the service to be a little sloppy, but they were running a tight ship tonight. My family + boyfriend came here after a long day of Black Friday shopping, so naturally we were all starving. My dad went a little crazy with the ordering (like he always does) and we ended up with enough food to feed like 7 people. Yard House is known for their wide beer selection, but sadly I detest the taste of beer (traumatized from a bad experience). So while I can't comment on how their beer tastes, I can tell you that my dad, a beer enthusiast, gave one of Yard House's light beers a thumbs-up. My dad ordered two of their light beers in their obscenely large yard size ($4 off during happy hour, M-F 3pm-6pm and Sun-Wed 10pm - close). I don't really need to say much else other than he was really, really happy. My boyfriend also enjoyed 2 glasses of Blue Moon, which I believe they have on tap. Now, for the food. A couple items were just mediocre, but overall my family and I really, really enjoyed our dinner. + FRIED CALAMARI (appetizer) - Your typical calamari served with tomato and tartar sauces. Nothing special. I'd skip this and try another appetizer off their extensive selection. + CHICKEN NACHOS (appetizer) - Decent nachos, come with generous amounts of chicken, beans, guacamole, sour cream, etc. They give you A LOT! Probably enough for 3. + ONION RING TOWER (appetizer) - A pretty tower of onion rings. I'm obsessed with onion rings, so I was happy with this appetizer while my parents + boyfriend just thought it was okay. Comes with two sauces -- chipotle & ranch, I believe. + SPICY JAMBALAYA - You get a choice of jasmine rice, brown rice, or linguini. I strongly suggest getting it with linguini. The jambalaya was rich, creamy, and delicious - lots of andouille sausage, shrimp, and chicken. + FISH OF THE DAY (STRIPED BASS) - I was not expecting this to be that good, to be perfectly honest. My dad ordered his striped bass blackened (you get a choice of having it grilled, blackened, or with a macadamia crust), and mannnn the fish was perfectly seasoned and I was surprised by how high quality the bass was. This dish comes with rice and bok choy as well. + ST. LOUIS STYLE RIBS - My favorite dish of the night. The ribs are finger-licking good. The meat was so tender and was coated with a nice thick layer of sticky, gooey sauce. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. + CILANTRO LIME GRILLED SHRIMP - My least favorite dish of the night. That's what I get for trying to be post-Thanksgiving healthy. The shrimp definitely tastes good -- they use good quality shrimp, btw. But I really feel like the shrimp didn't go well with the hummus and tabouleh. Luckily, I had so many other plates to eat off of, so it didn't really matter that my dish was a miss. + KONA COFFEE ICE CREAM SUNDAE - Huge ice cream sundae with Oreo crumbs and macadamia nuts sprinkled on top. Heaven. I think I ate more today than I did on Thanksgiving Day. I'm feeling a strange combination of shame and pride for being able to eat so much. I ended up at Yard House because a fellow Yelper organized her first UYE. I took the 40 min plus drive (without traffic) to check this place out. Located next to the Maggiano's and Target, I was pleasantly surprised by such a vibrant and fun loving place. It's a pretty swanky and stylish sports bar/lounge/restaurant with a dimly lit cool vibe. The main centerpiece of the restaurant is a gigantic bar that sits in the middle of the room and can house a ton of people. Tv's are strategically placed throughout the restaurant and plenty of tables and chairs are available. We came the perfect night because it was packed, due to the NCAA games. The food and drink menus were very extensive with several selections. I'm on a no alcoholic beverage diet, so I didn't partake, but everyone at my table enjoyed their beverages. I ordered something basic, the chicken fingers and fries. I could order them again, but with so many other options, I would probably venture out. The bathrooms were very chic and clean. The wait staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Since it was so many people coming and going in our party throughout the evening, they did a good job at being attentive. I'm so glad Adrienne M decided to plan her UYE at Yard House because without the invite, I would've never ventured out to check this place out. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, Adrienne M., Art P., Hannah B., and a few more of their friends for meeting up with me for HH at Yard House yesterday. You guys made this Cali girl feel so special!! I showed up at around 5:30'ish and the place was packed! Hardly any where to sit so I called Hannah to see where they were seated. I looked around and there she was sitting at a table outside with a group of friends waving at me so I made my way over. We did our little meet and greet and got down to business because HH ends at 6 PM so I was running out of time to order from that menu. We were trying to wave down our waitress, who happened to be missing for a good part of our meal. Either the service outside is really slow or they're just really busy because Adrienne said she's been here before & didn't have this problem when she was seated inside. I tried ordering a virgin piña colada, but their blender was broken so I had to settle for a sprite. For my meal, I had the ahi sashimi which wasn't too bad, but the fish isn't quite as fresh as it could be. I actually enjoyed the red cabbage slaw more than the fish itself. I also had the Hawaiian poke which was excellent. The flavor, texture, freshness and presentation was very nicely executed. I finished the whole thing by myself because I hadn't eaten all day, (because I was lounging around in my bed all day, as Hannah kindly reminded me). LOL Lastly, I had the garlic noodles. It looked and smelled so tempting, but when I took my first bite, all I could think of was "who dropped a bucket of salt in my noodles?" It was extremely salty for my taste. I had to take another bite to see if it was me just being a diva or if it was really just that salty. I downed my sprite and still the salt taste wouldn't leave my palate so I just asked the waitress if that was how they normally prepared it. She said that the sauce is pre-made so they may have thrown in a little too much and kindly suggested that she remove it from my tab. Honestly, I was still hungry, so I kind of wanted a remake, but I just said that should be fine. Overall, the whole experience was fun because of the company & it made the wait for the waitress to come by to serve us seem less agitating. First time to Yard House and I must say it was very good. They have over 133 different types of beer on tap. We started out with truffle fries (must have) & chicken fingers. They were both very delicious, especially the chicken fingers (crispy, tender, juicy & not greasy). I ordered the street tacos a la cart: 1 blackened swordfish & cod. They were just the perfect size, light but filled me up. They got the ribeye steak in medium and the steak was cooked perfect medium too!! They have brownie smores but too full to have any sweets!! Great atmosphere here! Went for lunch since I had time that I hadn't planned on, and decided to try Yard House. You notice the screens and the looooong bar when you enter- and that's all part of the fun. The staff was very friendly, and as I sat at the bar to order some lunch the bartender struck up a friendly and knowledgable conversation about Belgian and German beers. Having served in Germany and traveled through Belgium it was nice to talk to someone who had more than just a "bartender's guide" depth in the conversation. I'm a burger guy- so I went with the pepper jack burger at his suggestion and wanted it medium well. It came back charred, as in Crunchy CHARRED. I read other reviews here and I'm seeing a theme on the burgers- so of you're like me and like it done but not charred, order it medium. The fries were great! Thin cut and perfectly cooked. $19 for a burger and a beer (Loose Canon's double- also at his suggestion). Honestly, this would be a 5 for me if it wasn't for the charred burger. I'm calling Yard House the updated Cheesecake Factory. The menu has a long list of items that can satisfy any appetite. Yard House is a modern American Bistro that serves classic American dishes and also puts a spin on popular Italian, Mexican and Asian inspired dishes. Food: Jerk Chicken Wings - Grilled nicely and seasoned with a mildly flavored jerk seasoning. I expected more of a wet sauce but the wings were dry and not saucy but you can ask for a side of jerk sauce for dipping. Overall, the jerk wings were juicy and flavorful. Street Tacos - You can choose from different types of protein or veggie tacos. You can mix n' match the tacos and order them in any quantity. I ordered only one Baja Fish Taco to sample and it was fresh and delicious. Spicy Jambalaya - Comes with Shrimp, Chicken-Andouille Sausage and very small pieces of crawfish. I wasn't a fan of the chicken sausage so I would substitute that for more shrimp but otherwise the dish is very spicy and filling. You have an option of Rice or Linguine for the jambalaya dish. Linguine pasta is by far the best option since this is a cream based sauce. Dessert : Peach & Apple Cobbler - made fresh on site. Just the right amount of cobbler to fruit ratio. I was telling my fiance that the amount of people that was in Yardhouse on this Saturday night was probably more than the amount of people in the whole mall before they revamped it. I look back and I would have never imagined anything associated with Springfield Mall would be this busy AND have restaurants or food in general that would be good in this mall. It's crazy! Needless to say, the wait here is looong on the weekends. So be ready to wait around and that includes waiting to get a seat at the bar also. The beer selection is craaaazy, over 100 options with many options for mixed drinks also. You also have an option of getting your beer in a Yardhouse, I think it's 3 feet? I tried the pomegranate Margarita and boy I definitely tasted the 1800 but it was delish! For appetizers we ordered the Kung Pao calamari that comes with jasmine rice. The calamari was lightly fried with tons of Kung Pao sauce, it sure was kickin'. The other app we got was the onion ring tower, it's beer battered and lightly fried and you dip it in the chipotle ranch, very good. For entrees, my fiance decided on the BBQ bacon cheddar burger which I thought was a very small patty, it looked like a jr. Cheeseburger from Burger King. I was disappointed and especially because it was $12, it wasn't worth it. And for the burger itself I thought it was over cooked and not much too flavor except the BBQ sauce. I got the Korean pork belly tacos and that was also very small. The tortilla was tiiinnyyyy, not much pork belly and they only give you 2 tacos..I mean for $13 or however much, it was probably worth $5. I did enjoy the rice that it comes with but it was just dissappointing as an entree. Most places at least give you 3 tacos, come on! Overall, I mostly enjoyed the appetizers so maybe I'll come back on the weekdays for happy hour for their apps but for entrees...not worth it! And the prices are a bit pricey too. Service was also a bit slow, had to look for the waiter a couple times for water, utensils, and to get the check. After the wasn't good first experiences, Yard House Management reached out to me nicely and explained their reasons and I decided to come to try once more time. I ordered the sliders (again, so I can compared to the first experience), coconut shrimps and tacos (meal). The sliders this time is a little better but it wasn't tasty to me. Shrimps were pretty good but for $13 we only got three shrimps? that's a little too expensive to me. Tacos were okay but the waitress served us that night was beyond our expectation., She always checked on us and asked if we need anything else. We wanted to try dessert so she explained which one she likes and we went with her suggestion. To our surprise, it was actually pretty good ( she didn't lie to us) and once again, she came back and asked if it was good and start a small conversation with us. This type of service is what we are always want when we visit restaurant. Only reason I give 4 stars is not because the food quality this time, but the hostesses in the front are always soooooo bad. Our pager rang, so we walked up there to hand it to them, one of the girl name "Chanel" she saw us but she didn't help us or anything. she just stand there and keep looking at her cellphone, then 2 mins later, another girl came and said sorry about that and assisted us with seat. I looked at the other one and she just looked at me. What type of service is this? all she did was on the phone and get paid? There are very rare moments in which I obsess over a dish I have at a restaurant. I had one of these moments here. God (or whatever deity/power you believe makes the world go round) has blessed Springfield Town Center go-er's with Yard House's Vodka Shrimp Pasta. I feel like it shouldn't be something to hype up but something about it was just perfect. The shrimps were cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for. I am drooling as we speak. This may be my new favorite pasta. But generally from what I've tried so far their food is pretty bangin'. It definitely is pricey but I think it's worth it. The only complaint I had was that we waited a long time for our server to come back so we could ask for a check. I mean I know we could have just flagged down anyone (in which we also tried doing), but I dunno. Very understandable though considering it was a busy time. read more

Plastic Bag in Food! Awful experience, I ordered a sandwich that contained a plastic bag, the second portion of my sandwich contains a plastic bag labeled and everything, how this was overlooked when preparing my sandwich baffles me. The managers were less than interested in making it right. I had to ask for the GM and he let me know he was about to leave... the most I was offered was comping my meal and a $10 gift card, I was only offered a $25 gift card after complaining. This is still less than the value of my meal. Customers beware, who knows what else the kitchen is neglecting. read more

I'm actually at yard house right now. We have a big party of 12 (called ahead) for reservations at 430. It's 530 and our food didn't come out. Every time I came here our service was pretty lackluster and always waited a very long time (40 minutes+). Our waiter really never came around at all until he switched with some other guy and he was 10x better. The first waiter told me that they ran out of my order after 20 minutes after we ordered. So that adds on another wait to the already long wait so I went to auntie Anne's to get me some pretzel. 5/5 for auntie Anne's. Oh another update, the first waiter forgot one of our orders completely too (salad and nachos). I only gave more than one star because I actually like some of the food but DO NOT come here if ur really hungry. The wait is always so long and they let the food sit out for a long time before bringing it to the table. Shout out to Jerry who salvaged this meal with his kindness and quickness. Okay another update (5:50) my food still isn't out and I was told that they burned my pizza and they have to make another one. It's an hour and a half and I still don't have my food or even my side salad. My friend ordered take out because she came late and her food was ready in 10 minutes. At first I thought it was funny but now I'm pissed. Sad because I actually liked coming here. Not anymore. Will keep you posted on when I get my food. 6pm and I finally got my food. 1.5 hours to get lunch size pizza and a side salad. I'm changing my review to one star. Never coming here again. Because this place is new - be ready to always wait in line to get a table. They do have a lot of beers on tap versus other restaurants in the area, but all these beers can be found at your local Total Wine. Food - nothing memorable! Service - terrible. Been here on slow, busy, and insanely packed nights and service has always been impressively attentive and quick. I've had my beer refilled (House Honey Blonde is my go-to) and even tortilla chips replenished without asking! Ahi Tuna Salad is delicious and my favorite entree so far. I also really liked the huge Roasted Turkey Pot Pie *see pic*, the Black Truffle Burger, and the spicy Queso Dip appetizer. I wasn't too impressed with the Baja Fish Tacos, but to be fair, I've never really had tasty fish tacos anywhere. The variety of the menu is great and will certainly satisfy anyone's palate. Good place to go if you have people with different tastes! They offer a call-head wait list within 30 minutes of your arrival. Unfortunately I am going to have to update my review to reflect my most recent dining experience. I really hate doing this but the food here has taken a hit. The food that was ordered included: Classic Cheeseburger with Sweet Potatoes fries- ordered medium rare but it came out medium well. Person eating this complained about the charring, it was so charred that the burger ended up tasting bitter. The manager ended up not charging us for the burger and offered to get another dish but we turned it down. Lobster Garlic Noodles- This was the dish I ordered and i can summarize it in one word SALTY!!!! Once I took a bite of it my lips started burning right away form the saltiness. I regret not calling the manager over and having him take this dish back as well. I ended up eating the whole thing because I was hungry and the food took awhile to come out. Four days has passed by now and my lips are still burning and dry from that dish. Asides from saltiness the portion was also relatively small. Pepper Crusted Filet- Lacked flavor and tough to eat even though we ordered it at a medium temperature. The only good thing about this dish was the mashed potatoes, those were delicious. Ribeye- This was the only decent thing at our table, cooked at the correct temperature and it was nice and tender. St Louis Ribs- Tried this dish the first time I had Yardhouse and it has significantly taken a hit. I had Yardhouse the second day they were open so I don't see how this can happen. I would expect the opposite an improvement.. The ribs did not fall off the bone and the seasoning was pretty bland. I could only taste sweetness and that was about it. My father who had this dish is by no means picky, but he made a negative remark about this dish. Thinking about it now, if my family was the complaining type our whole meal probably would have been discounted or might even have been comped. Overall I would stick to coming here for happy hour and enjoying the various brews they have and their appetizers. I don't think you can mess up appetizers too badly. Perhaps it was an off day in the kitchen when I visited but it is enough for me to not give them a second chance for entrees. read more

Oh, how I am LOVING the opening of all these new restaurants in the Springfield area! Yard House is the place to go if you are looking for a wide selection of beers, wine and cocktails. (Including their variations on the classic mule and lavendar drinks) The food, oh the food. Calamari, street tacos, macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie, vietnamese sandwiches... they have it all and it's all done well! Service has always been excellent, despite how busy the restaurant can get. I AM thankful that the wait time is a short 10 minutes to non existent the past few times I've been here, which is such a relief. So happy to have a Yard House in NoVA -- finally. And this one stacks up to the others I've been to in California and Florida. My wife and I went to a grand opening party there last week. All the food was excellent, and we probably tried a dozen different appetizer bites circulating -- we loved everything. (Especially the ahi tuna stuff items and Korean beef.) The beer selection is also excellent. I think they're known for having something like 100 beers on tap. That includes lot of the popular stuff that's easy to find, but they also had seasonals and rotating taps. I've tried something like 600+ distinct beers over the past few years, and even I managed to find four good ones that I've never had. The service that we experienced was great. Our waiter was nice, helpful, and on the ball. That's particularly impressive, considering the place just opened. (I think it's pretty common for servers to take a few months to get the hang of a new place.) What I've always loved about Yard House is that it's an upscale sports bar feel with really excellent food. As far as I've seen it has no equal in that category of restaurant. We'll be going to this place frequently -- even though we live a few towns over in Arlington. read more

My friend was hardcore craving their cheese curds so we decided to meet here for dinner. I didn't really know what to expect going in - I'd heard it was a fun spot to hang out at but that the wait could be ridiculous, so I was poised for that possibility. Perhaps we got lucky, but although the place was buzzing (this was around 9ish on a weekday), our wait was a grand total of about 2 minutes (I could live with that!). A few minutes after being seated, we realized that there was a late night happy hour (starting at 10 pm) in addition to the regular one (which we had obviously missed) which was a nice surprise. Of course, since we were hungry and didn't want to sit around and twiddle our thumbs for an hour just waiting on the clock to strike happy hour, we went ahead and scoured the menu to at least get started with some drinks and appetizers (especially those much-anticipated cheese curds). Speaking of the menu - so overwhelming at first (but in a kind of good way)! There were sooooo many options, I didn't even know where to start. Should I get pizza? Pasta? A sandwich? Soup? Tacos? Wings? What to pick?! The eyes-bigger-than-your-stomach monster and indecisiveness were hitting hard. We decided to ask our waiter for recommendations (which is never scientific of course but sometimes a good place to start). He seemed thoughtful and very honest in his recommendations - citing what was popular and his personal preferences and why - which was very appreciated and made a good impression on me off the bat. Sometimes waiters will just say "everything's good" when asked, which - while I understand their reasoning - is always a little underwhelming, so it was nice to feel like he was actually divulging which items were freshest/best and which were just meh (however subjective it all was). We had a third friend join us and ended up ordering a myriad of things, including the cheese curds (tasty albeit greasy and gluttonous - but I think that's expected), moo shoo egg rolls (not bad but kind of hard to taste the individual ingredients), deviled eggs (with candied bacon on top), some type of korean beef dish (didn't have it so I've forgotten the name), adult mac and cheese (my personal favorite - mushrooms and chicken and cheese and truffle oil and bacon, has there ever been a more perfect combination of toppings?!), brownie for dessert, and a few rounds of drinks. While most of the appetizers were not out of this world per se, the variety of items was satisfying and the fact that many (if not all) were on the happy hour menu was a nice bonus. And, more than anything - the service was wonderful. We were well taken care of and attended to, but were not checked in on too frequently either. And I loved the ease with which the check was handled. We wanted some things put on one person's check, some on two people's, and some split three ways, and this was done seamlessly - without any mistakes or dirty looks or exasperated sighs! PS - I loved the "RoundUp4Charity" option on the check - never seen that before and I think it's a wonderful idea. Had a quick meal here, and the food was kinda sorta bar food, but better (if that makes sense!) My bf has been here before but in the California location, so it was just a first timer for me. The truffle fries were soo amazing, It was demolished within 2 minutes between us both. I had the ahi tuna salad and it is probably my favorite ahi tuna salad ive ever had. The garlic noodles were so tasty, i went home and googled how to make the recipe at home. We didnt like the onion rings though, maybe it wasnt made correctly in our incident because it was ridiculously soggy, and the batter seemed too thick. really good happy hour specials, lots of young professionals enjoying their afterwork beers, and tables filled up pretty quickly through our meal. One of the better food options in Springfield. They have good happy hour and lunch specials but good luck getting in without a wait. This place is always crowded. I also like that they have so many beer choices and the beer tubes leading to the bar look cool. They list the calories on the menu which is both good and bad. A decent amount of salad options and they have a whole vegetarian section on the menu. I personally go for the sliders, nachos, or tuna appetizer. read more

My friends have been die-hard fans of YH since its opening in Springfield. I've seen so many snapchat stories of the legendary yard and had the chance to come in for HH on a Friday afternoon. By the looks of it, the patio seating area gets packed and rowdy when the weather is nice. To avoid the loud noise level, opt to be seated inside. The first thing I noticed was how dark it is in the dining and bar area. I think it creates a less sports bar atmosphere, but I was blinded by the sun as soon as I left the restaurant. I skipped the brew this visit and started with a Jameson and ginger, and then a Jameson mule. There were little floaters in my Jameson and ginger... suspicious. BUT the Jameson mule was really exceptional. The mule is made with house-made ginger beer, so the ginger really pops. Take advantage of the lemon wedge in the drink, it kills a small amount of ginger "spiciness" and really levels out the whole beverage. My friend offered me a taste of her pineapple ale, which was reminiscent of a Mike's hard beverage or something similar but of higher quality. I was able to try the ham and pineapple pizza, a decent size for a personal portion (maybe 9 inches across?). The crust was chewy and thin, like a mix between a flatbread and a NY plain slice. Another one of my friends ordered the boneless firecracker wings. On initial taste, the firecracker sauce tasted like Korean chicken wing sauce with a very delayed flavor of cilantro (not an aftertaste, but somehow just... delayed). The entire FOH was bustling with people for my entire visit but my servers were very attentive. Our original server was kind enough to introduce Robbie, our new server, during shift changeovers. I think we had 3-4 servers throughout the night for different drink orders as well as food, but everyone was extremely kind. read more

I live in the area and I've been going to Yard House for years. I've hosted birthdays gone to countless happy hours and I've always had an amazing experience there. Until last night, I came in with my with my boyfriend and a server by the name of Shelly introduced herself as our server. Shelly was incredibly rude, she would walk away mid sentence, her mannerisms were as if we were inconveniencing her and my final straw was when she brought the receipt at the end of our meal and she threw it on our table and walked away. She never brought a to go box that my boyfriend kindly asked for. Yardhouse itself as an establishment is amazing, the burgers we had were awesome and the drinks were good! So I know this one server is not a reflection of their business. But I hope this is an issue that can be addressed. It was just a disheartening experience overall. I'm not even one to write reviews. I still will continue to go to Yardhouse and enjoy their delicious meals. read more

I was in Miami last weekend and went to the YH there and had such a great experience. I found out that they had this location near me and was psyched to go again. For a chain, they really are doing it right. Really good cocktails and HUGE beer selection. The food menu is a vast mix of different things that can offer anyone something. They even have a Gardein section for vegetarian/vegans. I want to try something new each time I come here! Our server Shannon G was great and the other staff was friendly. We came in on a Wednesday for happy hour (3-6pm) at around 4:30 and was seated immediately at a cocktail table. They have great food and drink prices for hh and don't skimp on the food for its price. We thought they were smaller portions and ordered about 4 dishes between the 2 of us and it was way too much! They were full portions! Definitely come in early for hh because around 5, they had to put people on a wait list. The place was really busy by the time we were finishing up. Hawaiian Poke stack $8- good amount of fish, way too much radish and carrot (would be better pickled) and really under-seasoned. We poured a lot of soy sauce on it and it was better. Pepperoni & mushroom pizza $6- delicious, we asked for it crispy/well done because we love a crispy crust Kung Pao Calamari $7- delicious, crispy outside and tender inside, great flavor Traditional buffalo wings $6- standard wings, good sauce, could be a little crispier Truffle fries $5- must get, so good, my favorite S'mores brownie $8- omg, if you love s'mores or brownies, you'll love this. Their general rating of 3.5 hits the nail on the head. Food/3 Beer/4 Atmosphere/4 Service/3 Ordered the jerk chicken wings and Korean tacos. Big mistakes! The jerk chicken wings didn't have that jerk flavor I was looking for; they just tasted burnt. The Korean tacos were very lackluster. I can go to H-mart and make myself tastier ones to be honest. My friend's pasta wasn't bad though so they do have some stand outs. So why do so many people flock here on the weekends? I'd say the atmosphere and beer really bring people in. Nice high ceiling, just the right amount of lighting, and a wide array of beers on tap. As for service, just average for me. Maybe I should stay away from their finger food and try an entree instead! read more

I have always been a huge fan of Yard House ever since I went to their Los Angeles location near the Staples Center back in 2011. I was a fan of their Virginia Beach location, and now I'm more than happy to go to a Yard House that is within reasonable driving distance. Their menu for the newly renovated Springfield Town Center is the same as other locations, and I can't complain. From my past couple of visits it seems that YH has become the new watering hole in the DMV. Since I've been on two separate Friday nights, the crowd is as numerous as the brews on tap. Be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes, however, the wait is worth it. If you "hover" long enough, you might be able to score a seat at the bar. Must try items: + Truffle Fries: snack on these bad boys while waiting for your drinks + Sweet Potato Fries: the maple sauce is to die for. I tried to recreate this in cupcake form once, it didn't work out so well. I came here for dinner to catch up with an old HS buddy. On a Thursday evening there was about a 25min wait to get seated. Once we were seated our drink order was taking and the drinks came out fast. Then there was the longest wait to take our food order. I didn't mind too much because me and my buddy were talking the entire time! Lol. The food came out in a decent amount of time, but man that hamburger was hard to handle--it was huge!! Then there was the 20 min wait to pay for the meal! This is the first time I comment here on yelp. We were a party of 10 adults. The inside of the restaurant was warmer than the outside and it was 86 when I got there outside. Our drinks took over 25 minutes to come and they weren't strong. When we said something to the server all she could say was I could bring you an additional shot. The wings order were delicious. It did take us quite a long time to have the server come back to us to give us our to go boxes and then it took longer to check out. I didn't think that the service and the drinks would be as bad as they were from a place. I've heard really good things. read more

My friend has been recommending this place to me for a while but I don't really think it's worth the hype. Came in after a couple of drinks from chuy's. It was very busy inside but the atmosphere seemed like a pretty cool place to hang out. Ordered the pomegranate mojito. It was good but there was too much ice in my mojito. There was no kick in my drink and I could tell it tasted watered down (prob because of all the ice). Not worth the$10 for a weak cocktail. Chicken nachos were good but we could definitely tell it wasn't fresh. The nachos were soggy as soon as they arrived The margherita pizza was okay. Nothing too special it was just pizza. Service was slow- water wasn't filled until asked and the waitress was almost nonexistent the entire time. We were taken back because my friend said service has been excellent the last couple times she was here. Maybe we were just unlucky today. Came by at night to try their half-off appetizers! Sharing the fried calamari and chicken nachos with a friend actually filled us up! This is honestly a good deal, we paid 13.90$ total for both so it was very affordable. Their outdoor seating was nice and I would come back again to try their other dishes! The fried calamri was delicious, the chicken nachos were okay. My only issue was that the cheese on the nachos was already cooled and harderned but i guess the dish itself was warm? Love this place! This place is laid back, good service, good food and beer! Could you ask for more? Their drink/ beer menu is extensive! They have so many different choices, so pick something you've never had! This place is family friendly, but they are also open late for going out with friends! There is always a wait of minimally 40min- hour. It's worth the wait, go grab a drink at the bar! The food menu is also mouth watering. They have regular staples along with maybe some things you've never thought of eating at a restaurant at a mall. Try everything you can! Dessert is your thing? Wow Happy Hour!! I used to live (and work) much closer to Springfield Town Center (before it was called Springfield Town Center) and I could picture myself coming here a lot, but with living in FC, maybe not so much. The weather was great and my friend and I opted for outdoor seating...perfect place for people watching. But hungry, I was so my eyes were more focused on my food this particular day. I started off with the truffle fries. They were perfectly seasoned and perfectly crisp. I love the shoestring cut of fries because I feel it would be difficult to fail in the crispiness area when they're cut so small. Next I had the spicy jambalaya which I've also found to be delicious. Wait staff and managers are very well trained and focused on the customer. As busy as the bar can get, someone was always right there to take care of us. After our entrees arrived, we had one or two requests for sauces and the servers took care of it immediately. bar Yup, it's the typical Yardhouse draft beer selection! Something for everyone. The beer menu is up-to-date and accurate, which is a HUGE help. The IPA selection is stellar. I had two session IPAs and both were fabulous. My wife considered the $12 Bloody Mary, but decided - despite garnishes and a beer back - it just wasn't worth the price. food From the appetizer list, I had Chicken Garlic Noodles for my lunch. Good stuff, not too much food and nicely done. Could have benefited from some peanut sauce, but I'm not complaining. My wife had the Southern Fried Chicken Breast. The chicken was nicely breaded and cooked, but the bourbon gravy was off-putting. Very odd flavor. Thank goodness they serve the bourbon gravy on the side! Wait staff was very accommodating, trying BBQ sauce and the gravy they serve with the Poutine. Sides with the chicken were good. details Same Yardhouse look as all others, big open, airy and modern. And, like all other outlets, it's in a mall, so parking is somewhat easier than Old Town or the district. I think the music selection is always bizarre. Then again, I left the '70s and '80s some time ago. The table settings, lighting and art are all very nicely done. Place is not that large and is very popular, so be forewarned. We visited the Springfield area for about a week and ended up eating here several times! I usually don't love chain restaurants, but the service and quality at this Yard House location is awesome. The first night we visited here we stayed for the entire duration of a baseball game. The bartender was very kind and changed the TVs near us to the game we wanted to watch. My boyfriend and I had some seasonal beers, which were flavorful and delicious. I ordered a taco dinner, which comes with a couple tacos, rice and beans. Everything was wonderful and I would easily order it again! On another occasion we had wings, calamari and a mini chocolate soufflé. All great- no complaints. My favorite part about this location is the staff. Sometimes when I eat at restaurants I can tell the bar is busy and the bartenders look stressed- especially on weekends. The bar is staffed with several bartenders at all times and any of the tenders will help you. It's legit. I felt like I could order whatever I wanted without causing the bar tenders stress, because they have enough staff to provide everyone with an enjoyable experience. The only reason I gave The Yard House 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of their pricing doesn't make sense. The beer ranges from 6-10 dollars for a pint and more than double the price for a yard (32 oz). We asked a bartender how big a pint is versus a yard glass and the pint is 16oz. In this, you pay more than double the price of a pint for a yard, so in the end it's cheaper to just get pints! Either way, this location is fantastic and we'll be back for sure! read more
