It's quite loud, so I wouldn't count this as a nice romantic date night spot. You are having to elevate your voice to be able to hear the person across from you. However, the service was great, I don't feel like it was slow getting our food out to us considering how busy it was. Had a great time at Yard House! We decided to have dinner here before the Symphony on a Friday night. We made reservations for 6:45, arrived about 10 minutes early, and they sat us straight away. Our server was amazing! I wish I remembered her name. Perfect balance of checking in just enough. We've been to Yard House (not this location) many times, but we never had the nerve to get a half yard of beer. Until today! I'm super clumsy so I was a bit scared of dumping it over but overall we had a great time with these. For food, we got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with Gardein chicken. I think the Nashville hot aspect only applies to chicken, not Chik'n. They cooked it well, but we were a little disappointed in the lack of heat. The slaw was unexpected, though! Not mayo based, it was a sweet vinegar. We also ordered the steak bowl with Gardein which ended up coming with grilled veggie chick'n. This was our favorite dish by far. Flavors and veggies were really yummy. They perfectly grilled the Gardein patty without drying it out which is such a flex for a restaurant that primarily serves real meat. We were told the wait would be around 15 minutes (Thursday May 23rd) but it was more than 30 minutes. Not that big of a deal since it was supper time, until a party of 6 came in, AFTER US, (we're also a party of 6) and after he complained, he got a table right away, approximately 10 minutes before us. That ticked me off. That was the only negative. Server , Jerrod, I think, was fantastic and was there for drinks and refills at every turn. Order came out in pretty good time and everything was correct. My food, a Turkey Stack with onion rings was delicious. Matter of fact, our party of 6 were very happy with the food and service. If you order a pretzel beware that thing is HUGE. Anyway, how good was everything? So good, we went back the next night, with a reservation, seated right away and had great service and delicious food again. Brandon was our server and just like Jerrod, he was top notch. The visual focus point being the long, thin, oval bar that stretches to what seems the length of a bowling alley , with every tall stool in the gutters taken by happy couples attending a flirty PDA convention. I've been to several Yard Houses before, but this one had a large selection of local brews and it was conveniently tucked into downtown Seattle. Both items were about ~9 bucks on happy hour. The boneless wings VERY marginal...very crispy...most pieces overcooked. Blue cheese dressing tasted bottled... The pizza was also quite marginal. Thin crust...and the center soggy. The best part of the pizza was the bottle of Parmesan cheese and the red pepper flakes. With over 100 beers, they only offered 2 non-alcoholic beers (one of which they were out of). (NOTE: This was not factored into my rating - as I don't expect a N/A selection in most restaurants.) So, all in all, I wouldn't go back. Once again...astonished at the 4 out of 5. Perhaps the happy hour menu is different...but I can't believe a good restaurant would have crappy happy hour. In town on business I stopped in to watch some basketball and enjoy some chicken and beer. I'm a huge fan of wings done well and these are IT! The bartender told me they have the same whiskey pepper sauce on salmon and I have to tey it! It's sweet with some tang and lots of flavor and the pepper gives it the tiniest kick but so good. The wings are worth all those words I just wrote lol. I also had a 4-beer flight. The beers were ok I always like to just try new things. None were super memorable beacuse I'm really a wine girl but they have so many beers on draft you'll find something you like. Worth a stop and I'll probably stop in again before I leave town. Happened to be in Seattle for some training and ended up hanging out with some people from class who were headed to this spot. So i decided to go with them as i have never eaten at any of there locations. This one happens to be located in downtown Seattle very close to Pikes Place. Which was closed by the time we got downtown. We were not sure if they were going to be able to seat our party as there were 16 of us and they were fairly busy. They ended up being super accommodating with us and were able to sit us all together. Our waitress was incredible also I feel bad that i cant remember her name, she was awesome and from talking to her she wasn't having the greatest night. I guess earlier in the evening they had some issue where the fire dept made people step out of the restaurant and many of her tables ended up leaving without paying or tipping yet she was still in a great mood and was super patient and friendly with all of us. The food was great , i ordered the jambalaya with noodles. You can get it with rice or pasta , I opted for the pasta. The menu had many different choices from food to beer and mixed drinks. I also got a beer from a local brewery that my server recommended which paired well with the jambalaya. The flavors of my food were great and it had plenty of chicken , sausage and shrimp. In fact i could not finish it all. The prices were also very reasonable for being a tourist area of course being from Hawai'i almost anywhere is cheaper. lol . The decor of the place was cool a little on the dark side but i get the impression that is the vibe they were going for. It was a nice place with lots of food and beer choices they also had a big variety of pizzas. I will definitely be going back as i had a great time. I leave maybe one review a year only if I feel compelled. Yard House surprised me. Frankly I went in with "joe brewpub" expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. The brew selection on draught is phenomenal. But the food was at least a couple notches above, and everything we had amongst my family of four was really good. Nashville Chicken with sweet potato pancakes and hot honey was super hot, tender, and crispy crunchy. Chicken tortilla soup was on point. Cheesesteak sandwich was really tasty and not fatty. I appreciated that they put down a napkin as a pace setting and I'm assuming for sanitary purposes for COVID. Though the place was very busy, my server at the bar was attentive and friendly and overall gave amazing service. The bloody Mary was just ok, but the wings and cheese curds were amazing and fulfilled all my comfort food dreams. Good place for appetizers. I've been to Yard House twice and each time our table has ordered mostly appetizers to share. Their portions are large and their prices are reasonable (not super cheap tho) especially during their happy hours. Both times I've ordered the lettuce wraps. Wrapped in the butter lettuce with any of the accompanying sauces, the chicken is delicious. The dish itself feels fresh which is a nice addition to the order when ordering mostly heavy appetizers. It's easily one of my favorite items on their menu. We ordered quite a bit of food for 3 people when we visited. In addition to the lettuce wrap, we also ordered the fried mac & cheese, the truffle fries, calamari, and the shrimp vodka sauce pasta. No wonder by the time we were all full, we had to pack a whole appetizer sampler plate's worth of food in a take home box. Everything else was pretty standard. The calamari was good and the truffle fries were good. They just tasted exactly how you expect them to taste and you can't go wrong with that. The pasta was slightly interesting. Shrimp was good but the pasta tasted kind of like something you'd expect in an Asian fusion dish. Hard to explain it. We still enjoyed it at the restaurant but didn't end up finishing a third of it or taking it home. The fried Mac & cheese is Mac & cheese fried into a stick! Five stars for beer selection, much less for the food, averaging 3 stars. Yes, this is a chain, and the quality of the food is very chain like. Still, downtown Seattle is a bit of a food desert when it comes to decent sit-down restaurants, especially on weekends. The main attraction here is definitely the beer selection, and it is heaven for those of us who are tired of one mediocre IPA after another that seems to be all that local breweries can offer. International beers can be difficult to find on tap in Seattle, but they have loads here, including a great Belgian selection. Chimay on draft! In short, come here for the beer, maybe an appetizer, but try and move on for your main meal unless you don't feel like leaving the excellent beer selection, which may happen. read more
