Sliders with cheddar cheese & fries

Had a good experience dining at the bar. Upon arrival, there was a bit of a crowd at the front waiting to be seated & the hostess didn't seem enthused, didn't make eye contact, was painfully slow & even tried to seat the party behind me despite me being next & standing directly in front of her. Weird. Even the other party told her I was next. So I informed her that I just wanted to sit at the bar & she said it was open seating. Thank goodness because standing there waiting & not feeling the slightest bit welcomed was unacceptable. At the bar, I was promptly greeted by Adam & ordered the sliders & fries. To my surprise, they were half off for the Happy Hour special. My order was delivered in under 10 minutes & was tasty. I'd return to this location but most likely not during the 4 o'clock hour on a Wednesday.

First time visiting the Yard House location in Pasadena with my boyfriend and it's officially our favorite. We'll absolutely be back soon! It was busy (as expected), and we waited about 20-25 minutes after checking in, which honestly wasn't bad at all. The vibes were welcoming from start to finish. Huge shoutout to our waiter TJ -- attentive, friendly, and just a great overall vibe. Service was incredible. Even after we paid, he made sure we knew we could still reach out if we needed anything. That kind of hospitality really stands out. We ordered a few items to share: truffle cheese pizza, fried calamari, Parmesan truffle fries with a side of blueberry ketchup (because I'm legit obsessed), and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious, filling, paired nicely and the portions were solid. I was pleasantly surprised our bill wasn't higher considering how much we enjoyed everything. The Parmesan truffle fries + blueberry ketchup combo was the star of the show for me personally. Although I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the truffle cheese pizza even regardless that I'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms. It had a tasty garlicky sauce and the bread was so soft and warm. Fried calamari was decent, but some pieces were a bit chewy and salad also needed more dressing, other than that no real complaints! I also asked for some blueberry ketchup to go and TJ hooked it up with a generous container -- really appreciated that! My boyfriend ordered the House IPA and was even given a complimentary sample of the Belgian IPA, which was such a nice touch. Can't wait to come back during their happy hour deals! p.s. they do validate parking.

Stopped by Yard House for lunch this afternoon and had a solid experience overall. We were greeted by the host and seated immediately, and our waitress was awesome very helpful with recommendations while we were picking out appetizers. The only thing that threw me off was when I was getting ready to pay the bill. I used the table kiosk to check my summary, and I noticed a $2.99 charge for video games. The device hadn't even been used until it was time to pay, so it was strange to see that automatically added to the total. Overall, a pretty good visit, but if you're paying on that device, make sure you check your bill to ensure everything is correct before you finish!

I had some time to spare and wanted to grab a quick bite before my next event. I dined by myself and got placed at a table. I wasn't sure who my server was and I haven't dined here in over 20 years. I wasn't sure how their service request was. They have an outdoor patio that had a lot of people dining outside. Inside, there were ample amount of diners. They had tv screens that showed the same channel. I used the restroom after I was shown my table. When I came back and took a look at the menu, no one came by to greet me. A few people walked by, all wearing black, I couldn't tell who was a runner or a server. On the table, there was a little device where you can look at the menu, pay, or play games on it. There was a little button that I assumed was the call service for the server to come and assist you. I pressed that and shortly after, the server came and greeted me. I ordered the tomato bisque soup with the grilled smoked gouda cheese sandwich along with a lemonade. The sandwich tasted amazing, and the soup was great. I was hoping it would be a little thicker of a soup base, but overall the flavor was great and paired well with the soup. The lemonade was a little too sweet for me, but refreshing on a hot day.

Where do I even start, everything tasted soooo good. The truffle mushroom pizza was amazing, the poke nachos were great and they were also extremely accommodating in cooking the tuna for me since I'm pregnant. The wings were also super good, we got the whiskey & lemon pepper and both were amazing. I usually like bbq wings but the whiskey sauce was really good and sweet also. We came during happy hour so all of our food plus a modelo came out to $35 so it was an amazing price for all the yummy food. The service was also very nice, accommodating, quick and easy. I will be coming back with my sisters and mom next time :)

I had high hopes for this location in Pasadena it's on the second floor of a plaza next to the movie theater, and the space itself is beautiful. Dim but well-balanced lighting, a bar in the center surrounded by TVs, booths, tables, and a patio that looked perfect for summer nights. I came with a longtime friend from middle school for an intentional evening of dinner + improv show, and we ended up at the bar since the wait for a table was 30 minutes. Our bartender, Drewski, was a delight: attentive, checking in often, asking for honest feedback, and making sure our drinks were strong and filled to the brim. We started with a lemon drop and fried calamari with jalapeño tartar sauce the flavor was great, but the breading kept falling off, which was a little disappointing. For our entrée, we had the lobster noodles. While the lobster and shrimp were generous, the lobster seemed overcooked and the noodles were clumped together it made it hard to enjoy. Overall, the ambience, bartending, and drinks exceeded expectations. The food, especially at $38 for pasta and $160 total bill, fell short. The kitchen felt rushed, and that impacted the meal. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd try a different location. Despite the food issues, the experience itself was beautiful because of the intentional time spent with a dear friend. It reminded me of the importance of carving out time for connection, creativity, and encouragement.

The Service: Sara was our server. She is awesome!! Super attentive and super patience waiting for us to order. Great customer service! The Food: They were prepared quickly. Fresh ingredients & plating nicely. I really enjoyed the grilled chicken & avocado burger. The Parking: Plaza parking structure. They validate parking, 90 minutes free. After that $1.5 every 30 minutes.

I liked the ahituna burger but it was a little on the dry side. The sauce they put on it made up for the dryness. They allowed me to sub to truffle fries with no parmesan cheese. The brussel sprouts were amazing. They are on the sweeter side since it's made with gochujang. Can't go wrong with calamari. Batter was light and it was best crispy. The kish & tell was pretty light but i can see why it would be a creeper. It was really packed because there was a game so we got seated late after everyone left. Service was great considering they sat over 20 tables in less than 20 minutes. My server refilled my water as soon as i finished the last sip. I mightve gotten lucky since he was near by.

Came here for happy hour, they have a nice selection of apps and drinks. It was pretty busy but it's nice you can order and close out the tab from the kiosk screen on the table. We got an assortment of apps. Poke nachos- tasty and good amount of toppings Chicken lettuce wraps- on the lighter side but good flavors Brussels sprouts- crispy and nice glaze on them Pepperoni pizza- standard Overall good choices of menu options and service, even though it's busy.

Came for happy hour. Their happy hour is such a good deal. Food was super good, the drinks were super strong. Our waiters were really nice and helpful. The place is clean and spacious, cool outside patio for private parties if needed. Bar is huge. It's located upstairs next to the regal theatre, parking is a structure under you get 90 min validation if you eat there.

    Korean BBQ Cheesesteak
    Brian N.

The parking is pretty easy. They have a parking structure. Make sure to validate!! Honestly the food was pretty disappointing. I got the korean bbq cheesesteak. The menu said it had shaved ribeye, white american, kimchi, gochujang, green onions, sesame seeds, toasted hoagie roll and house fries. But didn't really taste any of the kimchi or gochjang flavor. There was no green onions either.. It was just the meat and cheese on bread. The fries weren't anything special either. We waited almost an hour only to be disappointed. The service was pretty good though! Our server was super friendly.

4+ Pretty standard as it compares to previous Yard House locations that I've visited. A pretty large menu of beer, both local and national. Solid bites. I came to meet a friend here for a late lunch. So the atmosphere was pretty chill. We were able to get seated right away and our server was really friendly and attentive. We ended up splitting the shrimp, garlic noodles and an order of onion rings. While each having a couple of beers. All in all, just a solid place to grab food and beers.

In house hazy IPA partnership with stone brewing. Tasty.

I ordered the truffle cheese burger. Really juicy but a bit on the salty side. My son ordered the boneless wings. Unfortunately they got the order wrong as my son wanted the sauce on the side but ended drenching the boneless wings. But they took it back and fixed it. Service was good and for a Saturday or orders came in good time. Yardhouse was it's usual lively self with football in the background.

When we walked in, there was a tall, bald male bartender and a blonde female bartender working--neither of whom I've seen here before. We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

The atmosphere up there during golden hour is really nice, especially overlooking Pasadena with a drink and good food. Definitely feels upscale and stylish without trying too hard. Service was friendly and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. The only part of the experience that felt a little unusual was the payment process when charging the meal to my hotel room. I was asked to provide ID despite already being a registered guest at the property. I've been staying at Marriott hotels for well over a decade, including higher-end brands and resorts, and this was honestly the first time I've encountered that. I even asked about it and was told it was because sometimes people "forget they aren't guests at the hotel" when trying to charge meals to rooms. The staff member was polite, but the explanation honestly felt a bit odd and made the interaction feel slightly uncomfortable compared to what I'm used to at Marriott properties. That aside, I'd definitely come back. Great rooftop spot for dinner, drinks, sunset views, and a really solid date night atmosphere in Pasadena.

We ended up staying until about 9:30 p.m. and never felt rushed or pressured to order more. Waiter Manuel. This…read moreis a review reflected on you, solely. Being kind is the moral of the story, from the beginning you were passive agressive with your comments and tone. Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

This bar is tucked inside Vroman's Bookstore (already one of the most charming and iconic bookstores in the area) so the entire experience feels like stepping into a warm, literary universe. You can browse for a new book, take in the bookstore's atmosphere, and then walk straight into the bar. Honestly, it's the perfect outing. What makes 1894 truly special is how intentionally it celebrates literature. Everything in the bar pays homage to the bookstore. The drink menu is full of clever, book-inspired names. You'll find cocktails like Pride and PearJudice Pride, Fifty Shades of Earl Grey, and other fun literary twists. Every drink feels like a little wink to readers, writers, and book lovers, and it adds such a unique charm to the experience. The vibe is super quaint and warm, dim lighting, and a creative atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The wine is on the pricier side ($19-$21 per glass), but the quality delivers. Customer service was excellent. One of the bartenders spent time chatting with us. He pointed out a chalk artwork behind the bar a dramatic portrait he drew himself featuring expressive, literary-style faces, like Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. It fits perfectly with the creative, bookish aesthetic of the bar. If you're into books, wine, and unique experiences, 1894 is a spot you absolutely can't miss. Perfect for a date, a solo unwind-with-a-book moment, or a fun night with friends who appreciate a good story and a great drink.

We made a later reservation and would have stayed longer but didn't know just how much of an experience it would be. Vibes here are dark and moody, and it would be a great place for a unique date, just maybe not the first one. We got the beef tartare and spicy tuna crispy rice to munch on. The spicy tuna crispy rice was worth it, the beef tartare not so much. Also decided to do the drink omakase because they make the single drink prices so expensive it still feels more worth it to do the omakase so you end up getting that instead. You tell the server what you do and don't like or are looking for in your drinks and the bartenders will make them for you. Some might be already on the menu, some may not. If there is something you really don't like and you tell the servers, they will be kind enough to replace it for you with something you do. Overall they did a good job with making mine but didn't quite hit it for my friend. The omakase is at least 3 drinks, so be prepared to have transportation after, you may be a little drunk Overall would come back or bring other people here just for the unique experience, but it is pricier than just grabbing a cocktail at a normal bar.

There's also a cool little speakeasy in the basement. At the entrance you'll find a display case filled with Dodgers bobbleheads. They have an extensive beer list (about 20 on draft), specialty cocktails, and free freshly popped popcorn to snack on. The walls are lined with sports memorabilia and there's a juke box for entertainment between games. I had many fun nights here when I was younger. My friend and I were in the area and stopped in for a drink. Tony was behind the bar and he was an absolute doll. He's one of those friendly neighborhood bartenders that you would reveal your deepest secrets to. My friend had a beer and since it was Cinco de Mayo, I ordered a margarita with Tromba Tequila. It was tasty. My friend and I munched on popcorn while watching the Dodgers game. It was a relaxing evening and a reminder that I should visit the 35er again soon. *Adjacent parking garage (90 mins free) or metered street parking.

Cause the music here is kinda whatever, or at least random lol. There are pool tables in the back, which I saw was $2 per play. Overall, not bad. We also went on a Tuesday night so there were barely any people.
