There are so many yummy options on the menu, I will defiently be back to try! My friend and I ordered the chicken and waffles; however, I wanted pancakes instead of waffles. The pancakes were ok but after trying the waffle I realized I should have kept the waffle! It was suprisingly flavorful. We also got this appetizer that had fried white rice and spicy tuna. It was sooo good to me but my friend wasn't the biggest fan.

Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice (DineLA 2026)

4 stars My first DineLA experience of 2026. The Canoe House is a restaurant I've had bookmarked for years and I just never had a hankering to go to...until today! DineLA has always been a hit or miss for me, so I'm happy to report that I had a good experience! For DineLA ($25), this is what I got: Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice: I loved how the tuna wasn't super spicy. However, the rice block was too thick to eat comfortably and I didn't think it was crispy enough, but I still thought it was super tasty. 4/5 stars Short Rib Loco Moco: I've never been a fan of the loco moco, but, today, I decided to give it another try here. The short ribs were really tender and I felt like I got a lot of meat. The gravy was pretty good to me. But, as an Asian person, I need a lot more rice that what they gave lol...however, it was already a pretty filling meal. I had to take the rest to go. 4/5 stars Chocolate Lava Cake w/ Vanilla Ice Cream: I'm not super into desserts, so I'm not the best judge of this, so I'll just say that it is definitely a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. 3/5 stars There is a small parking lot on site and plenty of street parking. Service was ok. Decor was Hawaiian-themed and very cute. Overall, I had a good experience and would come back.

Another pleasant experience at th Canoe House. If you come early enough, you can do happy hour too that's available in the bar and patio Their menu is so Californian with deep Hawaiian tendencies All the food is freshly prepared with quality ingredients. Portions are generous too. Prices are very affordable for the area too. The best dish is their short rib loco moco which comes with fried rice, fried egg and topped with fried onions. So many textures. The coconut shrimp was a little sweet. The short bib melt was good if you want the short rib without the gravy. All their fried items were so crispy without being greasy There is parking available in their lot which sits on busy fair oaks Ave Service is great. They don't rush you out but is available for all of your needs You have the beach vibe going on inside and outside

Yummy Hawaiian themed brunch please with affordable bottomless mimosas! My group of six were quickly seated on the outdoor patio and we all enjoyed our food. I loved my macadamia pancake! Servers weren't stingy with the mimosas either and our waitress was good at checking in with us. Would definitely come back for a group brunch!

We had such a great time at Canoe house! We went for thirsty Thursday and they had happy hour prices for their beers all night. The happy hour brussels sprouts were very crispy and their burgers and fries were so good too! The gentleman at the bar took great care of us all night and all the staff we interacted with were very friendly too. I was able to park in their parking lot but there is street parking around as well. Will come back again for more happy hour fun!

Dine LA Dine LA Dine LA.....$25 lunch or dinner we had brussels si light crispy with truffle flavor. Crispy sushi so delicious and satisfying! had Pulled Pork Melt sandwich cane with crunchy fries! Asked for side of ranch. Was delectable. For the finale....hot chocolate lava cake and upside down pineapple cake BOTH came with whip cream and scoop of vanilla ice cream. Canoe house has stunning hawaiian decor even there restrooms are cute. We sat outside with our doggy and enjoyed football on the TV and firepit! lovely lunch and only $25 pp

This is a perfect spot for a classic American-style breakfast. It's usually quick to get seated, though weekends can get a little busy. The theme inside is very Hawaiian with cute booths that make the space feel welcoming. The food was good, we had their breakfast omelets and macadamia pancakes, which were delicious! Unfortunately the previous times we came it has always been great service but this time the experience fell short due our server. From the start, our server, Jayda (or Jada), was very dry and short with us when taking our orders. She forgot to bring out our side order and the extra spread we requested, and there were no check-ins at all throughout our meal. Every time she passed by, she avoided eye contact, which made it frustrating when we were trying to get her attention to pay. Eventually, we had to go to the hostess stand to ask for our check. When our server finally came over, she seemed bothered and just handed us the bill without a word. Maybe she was having a rough day, but overall the service came across as inattentive, dismissive, and unwelcoming, which really took away from what could have been a great experience.

I had lunch here today for DineLA. I arrived just before lunch at 11:30am. Just a few others before me. We were all greeting by a very nice smiling Host/Server named Tiffany. It was a bright sunny day and I opted to eat at the outside patio. The food came out quickly by different friendly staff. The food was very tasty and I got a little Hawaiian vibe with the decor and food. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Do order the Hawaiian Fried Rice. The Loco Moco looked good also. Don't forget to get the Pineapple Upside Down Cake for a delicious Dessert. Say hi to Tiffany and the friendly staff. Parking: a small lot and street parking available. Obey any parking restrictions. Zero stars for Worst service and server Maria D. 5 stars for manager apologizing and being super nice and understanding my experience disappointing and ruined by lousy service and attitude. 4 stars for loco moco 0 stars for Brussels sprouts. That's why overall 2 Stars. She ignored me for 15 min before taking order. No greeting, no pleasantries...just a grumpy frumpy old woman who hates her job. The only thing she said to me is, "Ready to Order?" She never checked on me. I never saw her again until she brought my dessert. (Other people brought my appetizer and main dish) Pineapple upside down cake w the smallest saddest scoop of ice cream the size of a golf ball. I questioned the size and she said it's a normal portion. I saw other servers walk by with big scoops the size of an apple, for their customers. Screw you Maria D. You're a skimpy stingy server and have lousy personality. I told manager what happened and showed him the picture of my tiny melted scoop. I waited until I could flag down Maria and couldn't get her attention for over 5 min to show her how small it was, so it was melted. She didn't care, had a nasty, don't give a damn attitude. The manager was great, apologized offered to give me a new full scoop. I declined, lost my appetite and wanted to leave asap! He brought me a scoop to take home anyway. So sweet. He said he'll talk to Maria later. Told him I felt ignored because I was dining alone. Tipping is for appreciation for good service. Since I got bad/no service = no tip. He said sounds fair enough. Loco moco was delicious and satisfying. Meat tender, fried rice yummy, egg over medium, not sunny side as asked. Brussels sprouts were not good, other places serve the whole round bulbs, not here. The leaves were plucked off the bulb and overly fried til almost burnt, like eating crispy seaweed without any taste except for burnt dry taste. Not good at all.

Edit: Returned on Friday for Happy Hour. Same great food, but lousy service. We will think twice about returning again. Disappointed. This has a super fun Hawaiian vibe! Outdoor patio too. We found out that today was Mai Tai Monday, so we just had to have one. It was fantastic! I ordered the Kahlua Pork Nachos. They were huge! The photo is less than half of the order. Plenty of pork, black beans and toppings. My husband had the Big Kahuna burger. My dad had the California Club. Both large portions and very tasty. We loved the French fries, which were hot and crispy. We can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

    Loco Moco so good.

My first time at Canoe House, and wow--the ambiance is absolutely on point! It instantly gave me Hawaii vibes, like I had actually been transported there. The food was outstanding--everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. My absolute favorite was the Mac N Cheese topped with BBQ pulled pork--comfort food perfection. The short rib loco moco was also delicious, and the Hawaiian fried rice did not disappoint. Service was attentive and friendly, which really added to the experience. I'm already looking forward to going back--especially for Mai Tai Mondays! Definitely a spot I'll be returning to again.

I met up with friends recently at this restaurant. We had great service, good food and drinks (save room for dessert). The decor was Hawaiian style with tropical drinks. Thank goodness for Yelp friends that discover these places I didn't know about. This cute Tiki bar was a real treat! We are able to get a circular booth and could see and hear everyone in our group. MENU HIGHLIGHTS: -Loco Moco with Short Rib -Spicy Tuna with fried rice. -Fish and Chips -Herb Crusted Mahi Mahi -Sesame Teriyaki Salmon -Kalua Pork w/rice/black beans -Hawaiian Fried Rice -Aloha Fish Tacos (I chose Gazpacho soup for my side dish) -Pineapple Upside-down Cake with ice cream They open at 9AM for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch begins at 11:30 - Monday through Friday. Breakfast menu is available for week day lunch too. Note: Online orders and delivery available through Door Dash. We had an enjoyable evening, The service was top notch, Im sure you'll love it too. Don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!!

Saw them part of dineLA , and a Hawaiin restaurant seemed cool to try. Came on a Sunday evening for a date night. Service was good. Appetizers were good spicy tuna on rice was great. Pork tacos were good, the short rib locco moco even better . Desserts were great , boysenberry cobbler was better than expected. Prices were reasonable on the menu, worth visiting. Not a fancy restaurant, but quite solid. Overall I would say 4-4.25

    When are the bottomless mimosas?

For weekend brunch- Saturday and Sunday up until 2pm to purchase with a meal; and the bottomless mimosas have a 2 hour limit. It's still plenty of time for drinking with a friend or a party. Enjoy!

Anyone know if breakfast is all day?

I believe breakfast is only on weekends and until 2 pm. At least that is when bottomless mimosas stop :P

My GF got the ahi salad off the salad menu and hers looked like an actual salad with plentiful lettuce. Only reason for the 4/5 is all of this! I tried one of the 7% "sour" beers on tap, not sure what to expect. I thought maybe sour meant kombucha-like aftertaste. It was KIND OF like that, but in a good way, not in a vinegar tasting way. It was actually really good, so def recommend trying a sour beer if you haven't before. It had the perf amount of sweetness. I find many cider beers to be too sweet for me, so was worried about that as well, but it was perf on sweetness level.

It was a great place for some casual, mildly literary drinking on a Thursday night. The bar was in an alley, and I was happy to find free, easy street parking right outside the alley entrance. The space was slightly below ground, down a flight of stairs from the alley. It felt like an Irish pub/sports bar with a tap list of California beers in addition to Coors Light and Guinness. Service was friendly and reasonably fast. I had a Made West Hazy IPA and a Pizza Port Amber, both of which I've had and enjoyed several times in several places over the years. I also ate some fries that were lying around, probably but not certainly by someone I at least sort of know. They weren't bad. I live kind of far from Pasadena and T. My bartender, Sarah, proffered a perfect poor, with a smile and a laugh, and I was ready for a good time. The menu is packed with traditional pub favorites plus other general sandwiches and salads, etc. I decided on their Reuben, which is built with Corned Beef, Swiss, Sauerkraut, both Russian AND Mustard, and it's served with fresh cut Fries. The sandwich was hearty and generously made, with flavorful corned beef boasting all the best of the pickling spices without too much salt -- the cook knows how to balance flavors. The sauerkraut and melty Swiss provided a rich, acidic contrast to the beef, an effect echoed by the blending of Russian with Brown Mustard. Then there was the bread -- an artisan rye with good flavor, appealing texture and just the right amount of fresh seeds to let you know this bread came from an oven not a bag. Fries were hand cut, as advertised, arriving hot and crispy with just the right dusting of salt -- a perfect match for the Reuben. This being Monday night, it was quiet on Colorado Blvd., and the restaurant had only a few people at dinner time. While this was a laid-back visit, I'm well aware the place can get busy and boisterous when people descend on their back-alley entrance, and it's hard to know which scenario would be better: the high energy pulse or the calm conversation. Best to come in multiple times for a proper scientific analysis (as well as several cold pints and a few very good meals).
