This Yard House location is attached to the SONO Collection Mall, on the Bloomingdale's side; no access from inside but just a short walk. Parking at the mall is convenient - pay by app or a link sent by text (we paid $3 for 3 hours so $1/hr.) There is Happy hour from 3-6pm like at other locations: 1/2 off select appetizers and pizza, discount on some alcoholic beverages. Great deal - our app orders came out to about $5-$7 each. Still enjoyed the sliders, tenders which came with fries; more generous with the calamari here; fried cheese curds are like mozzarella bits; liked the crispy brussell sprouts, well more burnt than crispy but liked them anyway. I know we ordered mostly fried food but there were other options for HH. We just didn't feel like having nachos, boneless wings and pizza. How to review this place? Great interior and clean. Nice service. They validate mall parking for 3 hours. Beer I was told was great. 5 star delicious truffle veggie burger and huge! They messed up my order and I ended up with an extra order of fries. They were the worst fries ever - both the regular and the sweet potato. The cheese steak was pretty good but I should be banned from reviewing cheese steaks since I am spoiled after having the best one ever in Philly. Yard House is a chain of casual dining restaurants that opened in Long Beach, California in December 1996. It was founded by business partners Steele Platt, Steve Reynolds, Tom Yelenick, and William Wollrab. Platt previously owned a bar-restaurant operation in Denver (CO) known as the 'Boiler Room'. Some elements from that restaurant (including a large beer selection, "pub grub", and classic rock being played in the foreground) would be reused for a new concept. The new partners had a vision to create "the world's greatest tap room". The name 'Yard House' was chosen as a reference to yard glasses (designed to hand to stagecoach drivers in 17th century Great Britain). Platt and Reynolds are the only founders that are still with the company. My family and I recently visited the Yard House at The SoNo Collection in Norwalk. This particular location (the only one in Connecticut) opened in 2021. My wife received a gift card to any Darden Restaurant (of which Yard House is a member), so we decided to go one day for lunch. We loved the interior which was spacious and aesthetically pleasing. We also really liked the classic rock tunes that played throughout our visit. For food, we selected some items off of the Kid's Menu for my two sons. My older son had "Fried Chicken Tenders" (white meat chicken breast strips, buttermilk ranch dressing) with Fries, while my younger son had the "Mac & Cheese" (elbow macaroni, cheddar cheese sauce). They were both very happy with their plates. My wife had the "Nashville Hot Chicken" (spicy sweet slaw, white cheddar, garlic aioli, toasted brioche bun) with Sweet Potato Fries; she said it was very crispy and flavorful. I ordered the "Beer-Battered Fish & Chips" (whitefish, house fries, malt vinegar slaw, roasted jalapeño tartar, malt vinegar aioli) and I enjoyed every bite. Obviously I had to order the signature half-yard glass of beer. I had it filled with New England Brewing's "Fuzzy Baby Ducks" IPA (one of my go-tos). First time visiting Yard House came here for a friends birthday dinner must say that the food is the typical burgers fries, pizza Thai bar the vibe and atmosphere was very good, but found that the music was very loud and really couldn't hear myself think or speak. I must say I love going to the Yard House and enjoying the ambiance. The location is right at the SoNo mall and it's very convenient. I got the traditional lemon pepper and whiskey black wings which is delightful. The seasoning was just right and sprinkled with seasoning to perfection. You have to also try the fried calamari which gives you a bit of spice and kick to your pallet in all the right places. And to add to my appetite my wife and I shared a mushroom truffle pizza and I topped it off with a crisp angry orchard 32 ounce beer the "Yardie" so I could wash down my New Year's Day meal with exuberance! Great experience at Yard House again. Me and my friend came to the bar for food and drinks. It was moderately busy. We were able to get a seat at the bar pretty quickly though. They cleaned up the area very quickly. Our bartender K was awesome. We ordered Korean Ribeye, 20oz Bone-in Ribeye, 10 Crispy Traditional Wings (5 Korean bbq and 5 whiskey). Both steaks were good, alittle fatty but no bad and well seasoned. The broccoli was little over cooked, but the chili garlic fries were so good and crispy. I had the espresso martini and it was very good too. Highly recommend if you into that type of drink. It was my first time trying that drink and won't be my last. I can not say enough wonderful things about Yard House, I will be back again. Oh and there is a parking lot attached to the Sono Collection mall, which is a huge plus. read more

This place started out so strong when it opened. It gets two stars for its selection of beers. It's a good robust selection for various types of beer lovers. The food. Yea that's another story. Most of the food is super greasy and not very flavorful. We ordered a pizza for my son, yes not normally the type of place we would order pizza from but hey my 6 year old wanted it. I went to this yardhouse on a tuesday around 12:45 and it was quite empty but it had wonderful decor and music playing however i'm sure it would be much more lively and festive with more people were here. The food was delectable, I got the caesar salad and the penne a la vodka and it was amazing! The salad had a lot of dressing in my opinion but for others who tried it they said it was lovely. The other people who I went with got the brussel sprouts and the onion ring tower and they said it was lovely the tables fav was the brussel sprouts. Came in during happy hour. It was pretty empty. We were a larger party of about 13 and we were seated right away. Considering our large party, our waiter did amazing. He was attentive, took our orders right away, food was delivered with no issues at all. All of the food was delicious. I had the lettuce wrap while others in our group did the nachos, sashimi, chicken fingers, and firecracker shrimp. All of the appetizers and meals were presented nicely, food was warm, fresh and delicious. The dining area was a bit dark so reading the menu was challenging but it's more of a bar style restaurant and the dim lighting is part of the ambiance. I got hooked on Yard House up in Mass years ago. I used to visit the area for work about once a quarter/twice a year and would always make sure to stop by (almost every night during my visits). When I heard Yard House was coming to Norwalk, I was so excited. I visited the Norwalk location after they had been open maybe a week or two, and they were well-staffed, and the food was delicious; reminding me of why I liked their Mass location so much. Their food is high-quality for a chain restaurant, and there are so many great options that even the pickiest eater could easily dine here. I've had so much on their menu, but I ordered the sliders and LOVED them for my first visit to the Norwalk location (especially that they come with fries - bonus). Also, the special sauce that comes on the sliders is heavenly - ask for extra to use as a dip for your fries. Second lunch here and both are 5 stars! Good quality and portion size for yummy meals. The poke stack was light and flavorful. My son said the Buffalo wings were THE best around, beating his former Fairfield location favorite. My DH got the French dip again as he enjoyed it so much the last time. Still so good and the au jus was not salty. The chicken fingers and fries were good too. There is a nice selection of offerings on the menu, and the beer list is extensive though we weren't trying any this time. The staff came over frequently to check that we enjoyed our food and to ask if we needed anything. We saw a variety of sports and a cooking show playing on the many TVs. They have around 100 beers on tap. A large open dining area surrounds a large oval shaped bar that seats about 50 people. There are probably 15 TV's sprinkled about the premises so you don't miss any action. The menu is a very well chosen combination of pub food and pizza. We sat at the bar where the service was very good. I had the Turkey Club on toasted brioche, nothing super special, but it was very good. They substituted a very nice house salad for French fries at no additional charge. The wife had a small Cobb Salad and said it was very good, and it was presented beautifully. My first time at Yard House. Very impressive looking sports bar to say the least! Sat at the bar on a Sunday night. Service was lackadaisical took a while for me to get attention of the five guys behind the bar. They had a huge rectangular shaped bar with TVs all over the place and probably at least 50 beers on tap not including bottles! Atmosphere is good for sports fans. I ordered sliders with truffle fries with the intention of getting an entree if they were good. Food was underwhelming and sat on the line too long, both were cold and not impressed. Beer prices were on the steep side but most restaurants and bars are these days. However... $6.30 for a Pabst Blue ribbon? Really? First let's start with the locale. The place is huge! What's puzzling was the 45 to 60 min wait for open booths and tables (we're no longer in COVID restrictions for bars.) Get seated...I'm not going to drop names, but the person who took our order, super nice, takes our order..guac as appetizer, two burgers...nothing out of this world...about 20 min later, guac comes (guess these avocados were next to the pots of gold) don't blame our server as she was super nice and went back to the kitchen a few times... The toddler apps...I mean guac and stale chips come...then like 10 min later, our burgers...ok, but not great... Not the type to say "let me speak to the manager" but this is a pretty new place, in an affluent mall, so you have to consider your foot traffic, regardless of socioeconomic status. He's going to be a nice bartender too--told us he may bartend! But I had to come on just to write whoever was in the kitchen Monday night 10/9/23 and made my spicy beef garlic noodles (boneless short ribs, mushrooms, snap peas, bok choy, carrots, red onion, baby broccoli, gochujang sauce, crispy garlic) OMG one of the most incredible noodle bowls I have ever eaten in my life, but I'll ignore calories. Kudos to the chef. Hubby had one of the ribeye steak dishes that he said was delicious as was ahi tuna sashimi app. Hope to try again next time in Norwalk.
