    California Burger
    Anika T.

Small hole in the wall restaurant close to Valencia a Mexican restaurant my office frequents. We were excited the menu had vegan options and decided to give it a try. We started out with a nacho appetizer - the chips were stale and all of the beans were at the bottom of the container making it difficult to get a good scoop. My one co worker had the California burger and let me know the ingredients were fresh but lacked much of the flavor. The other coworker had Malibu chicken roll up and had the Same problem as the nachos. All the salad was on top while the chicken was at very bottom and lacked flavor. I had the Malibu chicken salad which was good the honey mustard dressing was very flavorful and chicken was tender. The staff was kind The inside is a bit dark and dingy looking and very tight space Parking is street only and it's a very busy street They do take credit cards We won't be back as the office had a stomach ache after eating

Falafel Ball Salad and Blackened Chicken Roll - up

The blackened chicken roll up never misses! I love coming here when I want something healthier, but I always leave satisfied and full. Service is very tentative and friendly. Super cute and homey inside. 10/10

One of my favorite places to order lunch from. When I worked down the street I would eat here two times a week! The falafel appetizer is one of the best. You definitely need to try it!

    Black Bean Vegetarian Chili

The Lime Restaurant is located in Norwalk CT @ 168 Main Street They have amazing vegan and non vegan options. Pictured is the vegetarian black bean chili. When I tell you it was amazing!!! We weren't missing any meat at all. Seasoned to perfection and the cheese melted gracefully in the chili. The sour cream and chips were just enough to polish the bowl. Y'all know I was looking for more right ..lol. But you know greedy old me had to get the blackened chicken wrap. The wrap is overstuffed with the best blackened chicken that I've tasted. It's good to know that The Lime isn't stingy with the meat. If you're ever in the area stop by The Lime. You won't be disappointed. #blackbeanchili #vegetarianchili #chili #blackenedchickenwrap #blackenedchicken #thelimerestaurant #veganfood #veganoptions #foodie #FoodBlogger #foodvlogger #foodporn #hyefeliciaeats #foodreview #restaurantreview #reviews

The chicken was the highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and really well seasoned. You can tell it was freshly made. The cornbread was also really good, soft, warm, slightly sweet, and even better with the sorghum honey butter. The mac & cheese was great. it was rich, creamy, and felt homemade in the best way. I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw, and this one was a bit watery, I should have asked if I could swap it out. The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana. Even my starter arugula lemon vinaigrette salad was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance is definitely upscale and stylish. Overall, it's on the pricier side, but that feels expected for the quality and setting.

The dining room at the new location is fantastic. Open and bright. Much better than the older location down by the aquarium, which is now a new Jamaican restaurant. The place was crazy busy for Mother's Day. We arrived early, but the kitchen was instantly overwhelmed. It took over an hour to get our entrees. Not really all so bad since we got to spend extra time with our dear mother, and the food was exceptional when it finally arrived. I recommend going at a time that isn't quite so busy for a better experience.

It was quite busy when we arrived on a late Sunday a.m. in January. Tables were filled and there was a line for ordering. We decided on a tomato cheddar soup and the Churn it Up sandwich with Havarti and provolone. We were told the wait would be 40 mins, giving us the option to wait it out or go elsewhere. We stuck it out and the food was at our table in less than 20 mins. The sandwiches were ooey gooey toasted cheesiness and paired perfectly with the creamy tomato soup. It came with a lighty dressed arugula salad. I had a freshly brewed ice tea and my dining partner got a Dr. Brown's soda. The breakfast rush was soon over but people were still coming in to eat and grab take out while we enjoyed our meals. They also offer beers and wines and hot chocolate. The entire place was very clean, including the restrooms, although I did not see any table wiping going on. Staff were smiling and polite. Plenty of parking in lot shared with other business.

Damn what a night this has been!…read more So a friend and I decided to come eat here after going to a funeral visitation for a co-worker. It was the first time in 18 years I had been to anything funeral-related, but harkening back to my childhood, we'd have food after funeral services to celebrate the life of the lost loved one, so it was a piece of me I wanted to share with my friend. Another thing that contributed to my wanting to come here is that this is a place I've been wanting to come to ever since this restaurant opened, and it went doubly so when it was named the Best Restaurant in Connecticut for 2024. The fact I finally got to go in of itself was a blessing, and I have to say that I am glad we came here. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and service was quick from start to finish. Our waiter was excellent. He was great making recommendations in effort to get us to save some money, took any questions we had with a smile, and made ordering an easy-peasy affair. Ambiance was very casual, great for any occasion really. If I ever had a date and this was where they took me, I'd be wanting a second date already. They're great for family get-togethers too. Oh, and the bathroom walls made me laugh with their witty one-liners like "Don't be a Gherk" or "Just Dill With It". So based on the recommendations we were given, we shared both of the appetizers we'd ordered: the fried pickles and the biscuits and fix-in's. The fried pickles that this place is known for were really good, very comparable to what you might get from a true Southern state. It comes with a spicy mayo, and paired together, it's divine! The biscuits & fix-ins are two large biscuits accompanied by four types of butter: salted, maple, vanilla, and the strawberry. They were all good, but we both agreed that the vanilla one was out-of-this-world, and the maple one had an authentic Vermonter taste to it. The strawberry one tastes like a strawberry cream cheese which is a good thing here, and even the salted butter was good. We each also got an entree, and I was the only one who ordered a drink. My friend had the Classic Mac & Cheese, and I had the Southwest Meat Platter as well as a Dirty Aphrodite. I love me some good ribs when I eat Southern food, and having the meats all in one, I couldn't say no to that. If I'm being honest, I came close to picking the Kentucky Porch Sipper for my drink, but the call of the Dirty Aphrodite was too big to ignore. And boy oh boy do they make the combination of pickle brine and vodka work with this drink! I don't think I've ever had vodka quite like that before, but Jacob's Pickles does it so well here! The entrees were also great. I saw the cheese pulls as my friend ate and I could tell I probably would have enjoyed that version of the classic dish. As for my dish, the ribs were tender and fell clean off the bone, tasted like a true BBQ wonder. The pulled pork was succulent, ratioed perfectly so nothing overpowers in the dish. The sausage tasted superb. The Nashville Hot Chicken was crispy, juicy, spicy without being overwhelming. The Pickle Slaw was some good Slaw. Is it the best I've ever had? No. But it's competent and definitely deserves to be called a slaw. Jalapeños and corn were great, and I even got another buttermilk biscuit to use the remaining butter we didn't use on our appetizers. All-in-all, one of the best outings I've had in a while. I mean it when I say this: Jacob's Pickles is a MUST-GO! It's that good! You won't regret it.
