I know this is a preference, but it could have been cooked a little less crispy, regardless, I'll skip the vampire option in the future. Beer was good. Service was great. Music was way too loud. We had to nearly yell for the server and others at the table to hear what we said. If you like beer, then Yard House is the place to go. They have a LOT of beer on tap and they always seem to have my favorite on tap. That's the Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen. If you're a wheat beer fan, then this is a must try. They also had about 6 other wheat beers from which to choose. They have local stuff as well as stuff from all over the world. I did not have food at this location, but saw some others at the bar eating and it looked as good as other locations I have eaten at. I'd probably recommend for dining and beering. It was pretty close to the convention center and right around the corner from St. Elmo's Steakhouse. The bartender was friendly and helpful, but did last call about 45 minutes before closing which was odd. Came in for dinner on a work trip and didn't know what to eat in the area, so we ended up at Yard House due to their abundant menu. When we came in, the 2 of us were seated immediately in a booth as requested and helped. Tyler was a fantastic waiter and was very attentive throughout. For an appetizer, we had the spinach dip which was good though it could've used a bit more salt. For a meal I had the Korean bbq beef cheesesteak, nothing like I've ever seen before and very delicious! The bread was soft and there were so many good flavors! I upgraded my fries to truffle fries and though they didn't have a heavy truffle flavor, they were hot and had a nice crisp to them. I can't remember the drink but it was sweet and pretty good! We sat at the bar, had quick service, it was 30 min + wait for a table. We started with guac and chips and it hit the spot after walking downtown for a few hours. I thought about ordering more lol. For our main meal, we ordered tacos. I had chili shrimp and vampire carnitas. The chili shrimp taco was great. I love that they will take a reservation for 14! They assigned two servers to our table which keep things moving along nicely. They kept the drinks coming, and were so attentive. We were able to sample beers, which was a fun way to try new things before we ordered a draft. The poke nachos were excellent! Extremely disappointed. We are not from here, and drove an hour and a half to come here for a Celtics/Pacers game for the day after Christmas. I bought a gift card to this place to pre-pay for our meals as a Christmas present along with the basketball tickets. We both decided to treat ourselves for steak dinners since I had already bought $75 gift card. I will say the best part about this visit is that we got seated right away due to having a reservation. Other than that it was downhill from there. The server was nice but she was obviously overworked and too busy. Could not even find her to get our drinks refilled which we shouldn't even have to ask for. We got the pretzel as a starter, it was overcooked, dry and had no salt. The beer cheese tasted bland and watery. The mustard was good, though! Then came our meals. I got the sirloin (MR) with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The edges were good and seared, but the cut of meat was stringy and the middle of the steak was very rare and inedible. The asparagus was NOT cooked at all. Not steamed, not seasoned, just raw spears put on a plate. Mashed potatoes were good but there was maybe 4 bites of it. My husband got the ribeye (M) it was decent. Seasoned well. His broccoli was also not cooked whatsoever, just raw and crunchy broccoli as the side. After all that was said and done, we probably ate half the plates and the total was $115 not including tip. Luckily we had the gift card because that total was outrageous. Not to mention Indianapolis has lost their charm altogether. We used to make frequent trips up here to get out of the city and it was practically a ghost town here. Spectacular!!!!! Let's start with the menu. Rarely do I have a difficult choice when order, but at the Yard House--there are SO MANY incredible options. Our table, among other items, ordered the Buffalo wings as an appetizers, the ribeye, jambalaya, and whiskey glazed salmon. The wing were some of the best I have ever had ... a tad on the spicy side, but absolutely delicious. My jambalaya was creamy, seasoned to perfection and the variety and amount of proteins was really impressive. Though even as good as my meal was, and as much as I hate to say it, I think my daughter out-ordered me with her ribeye (I tried a bite and it was a high quality cut of meat cooked to perfection). We started with the queso and added beef. It was a little more fundido texture than I like but I still enjoyed it. If you are craving queso when you go, then def get it just know it's kind of a mix between queso and fundido. I also got some vampire tacos with the garlic fries. The tacos were good but the menu is huge so I'd probably try something else next time. It was very difficult to choose our meals because of the size of the menu and everything did look really good. It was very busy, so we put our name on the list, went to have a beer at a nearby brewery (Goodwood Indy - see previous post) and were texted that our table was ready about an hour later. We each ordered a flight (see pictures) to get started and I was honestly a little underwhelmed with the House Six Pack (inhouse options). For my palate, the beers were all too light and bland - coming across as watery, with little body or character. They were actually my least favorite of a number of new beers that we sampled downtown that evening (didn't have to drive, so enjoyed a few beers). I wish I had ordered my own and would have chosen some of the heavier / more unique beers, as I assume this flight was set up for more of a mass market preference. For our meals, my son ordered the 3 Taco Combo (see picture) and I ordered the Sesame Crusted Ahi (see picture). We shared bites with each other and both of us thought both plates were delicious - we would highly recommend both! The salmon was prepared well and the crusted sesame coat was a nice complement to the soft inner flesh. The tacos were seasoned well, moist and tasty! I've been a long time fan of Yard House. My go to is the veganized BBQ Gardein Chkn Salad. I sub for Gardein chk, omit all cheese, and no ranch dressing. They've recently added a Nashville Hot seasoning for the Gardein, so I get that. There's an entire Gardein section of the menu online. There are so many Gardein flavors to choose from too. (The menu offered in the restaurant doesn't have this section listed but it is available, just ask your waiter/waitress.) Yard House is a fun spot. The music is always awesome. I am visiting Indianapolis and while I try to avoid chains when I travel, I was unfamiliar with the area, so I opted for Yard House since it was close to my hotel. The hostess was dealing with a demanding customer when I arrived, so it took awhile to be acknowledged and seated. She did apologize for the delay, and I definitely understand it was not her fault. I opted to just sit at the bar after waiting for a while. The bartenders were very friendly and super attentive. I never had to wait for service, so that made up for the minor delay to be seated. I started with the Pineapple Express, which was bright and fruity. It was happy hour, so I decided on the classic sliders. Admittedly, I'm not a huge burger fan, but as I was carb loading for a half marathon the next day, I figured a balance of carbs and protein was a good choice. The burgers were good, but a little greasy for my preference. The fries were delicious, I could have just had a plate of those! I ended up visiting Yard House with a friend when we were downtown, checked Yelp, and found out that Yard House was nearby. For both of us it was our first visit. This place is huge, nearly overwhelming. A huge variety of beer, both local beer options and also beer from out of state breweries. Our server mentioned that the restaurant seats 700, which is incredible. She was extremely helpful with recommendations for beer and food. We had arrived during happy hour, which was a nice surprise. Appetizers were half off, and we sampled several of them. The cheese curds were excellent, and so was Miquel's Queso. Out of the apps we sampled, those are the two I would recommend. For our main course we ordered a pizza, which was very good. There are several vegetarian options available but we did not try any of them We tried several beers; my favorite was a pineapple variety that I had never seen anywhere else. Yard House is one of those places with a massive menu that you opt for when you've got picky eaters or a wide variety of tastes and dietary restrictions to cover. While these places usually fall flat because they're trying to do too much, I've been to Yard House twice now and was pleasantly surprised both times. The first visit was for a happy hour now that they are legal in Indiana. Yard House offers half off several of their appetizer options and pizzas plus $2 off beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails. I believe I made it out for about $20 after one beer and a heaping portion of chicken nachos to take home. Second visit was prompted by my parents coming into town with some dietary requests, with one eating pescatarian and the other trying to stay on the lighter side. Yard House had good options for each. I went with the steak bowl which has some Asian fusion flavors to it and was very filling despite being 500 calories. I also tried a few bites of my partner's hot chicken and sweet potato pancakes, which was an interesting twist to the standard chicken and waffles. The pancakes aren't too sweet, but you definitely get a hint of the sweet potato in there! None of us walked away with leftovers, and it is a little pricey with most entrees in the $20-30 range. Ordered a burger medium rare - It came out well done, and without any of the toppings I ordered. I was starving by then so I ate it anyway. But I felt ill soon afterwards. MY ladyfriend also felt sick after eating as well. Wait staff never took my drink order, so I had to go to the bar and get it myself. This being said, it was the middle of GenCon 2025 so I realise that they were very busy and overburdened. The staff was courteous and the onion rings were quite good. Finally, I'll add that paying $60 for two hamburgers might be the new norm. But it still seems pricy, especially when the fare is not good.
