We visited Yang's Kitchen for brunch due to its high rating. We went there on a rainy Sunday around 10:00 AM. The place was already packed. We put our name down on the waiting list. The waitress politely told us that they would only seat us once the whole party was present, which was reasonable. When the whole party arrived, they seated us within 10 minutes. Ambiance: 4 out of 5 stars. The ambiance of the place was modern and casual. Food: 4 out of 5 stars. The restaurant focuses on farm-to-table and local sourcing. We ordered all three shareables and a few other dishes: Cold Sesame Noodle: 3 out of 5 stars. Even though it seems to be highly rated, I didn't really taste anything special. Roasted Squash and Kale Salad: 3 out of 5 stars. The taste is decent. I wish we had more squash. Not that tasty. It is difficult with all that kale. Mochi Pancake: 5 out of 5. We all loved the pancake, the jam, and the cream. Fried Chicken Wings: 5 out of 5. It is marinated, flavorful, and not greasy. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Breakfast Plate with Hanger Steak: 5 out of 5. The steak is perfectly cooked. The egg was soft and fluffy. Value: 4 out of 5 stars. For $28, I wish we got a larger portion of hanger steak. Other than that, good value. Service: 5 out of 5.
First time trying Yang's Kitchen for brunch and the standout was definitely the cold sesame noodles. We added avocado, which gave it a nice richness against the creamy, nutty noodles. We also got the Japanese Breakfast with sausage patty, boiled egg, pickles, Japanese sweet potato, and multigrain rice. Simple, filling, and really well put together. I also appreciate that they list out the vendors they source from. It gives the whole place a thoughtful, farm to table type of feel.
Their cold sesame noodle salad is delicious!!! Favorite item on their menu. The restaurant is clean. Staff is friendly and attentive. The food presentation is lovely and food comes out quickly. The background music offers a nice atmosphere to the already clean and bright environment.
Hubby & I had high expectations for dinner, but we were not impressed by the flavors. Many of the dishes were lacking balance. Yang's fried chicken wings - this was a solid dish. Chicken was juicy. I usually don't eat chicken wings. Even after it got cold, the wings still tasted tender and not dry. Grilled Cabbage with Bagna Cauda - I do like a good cabbage dish, but the cabbage was under charred, way too greasy, & lacked acidity. After finishing the half portion of cabbage, it left an unpleasant after taste. Not a well balanced dish at all. Not my favorite dish. Maybe we should've gotten a simple salad instead. Dan Dan Campanelle - the dish came warm not hot. Good flavors and the Campanelle had a good chew, but not an exceptional dish. Hainan Fish Rice - I was so looking forward to this dish. The fish was cooked perfectly, but again lacking balance. The ginger oil is muted and purely decorative, lacking the sharp, sinus-clearing bite needed to wake up the dish. Without the bright, raw punch of ginger and chili, the dish tastes heavy and one-dimensional. I just wished there were more flavors and not just the taste of oil with each bite of fish and ginger. Good ingredients used, but just too heavy on the oil, too light on the aromatics. We didn't fully enjoy our meal as much as we would've liked. We might come back and try the brunch some day.
Honestly, so surprised to find a restaurant like this in the middle of Alhambra. Yang's Kitchen is a scratch kitchen that focuses on locally sourced, organic ingredients and sustainability. You can definitely taste the difference in the quality of food. For the appetizer, we really enjoyed the Chicken Liver Mousse. The house-made seasonal jam is so good (we just had strawberry) and pairs really well with the mousse. For brunch, we got the Grass-fed Hangar Steak Breakfast Plate which is an elevated version of your typical breakfast staples. Amazing flavor and they cook the steak perfectly every time. We also tried one of their seasonal desserts and it is a must-have. I forgot the name, but it was a melon sorbet paired with fresh mangoes, coconut milk, and sago. Super unique and refreshing. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with a casual feel. Service is amazing, especially if you have Kai. We look forward to visiting again soon to try their dinner menu.
My friend & I visited Yang's Kitchen this past weekend & had a great brunch! We both ordered the Yang's Set w/ our choice of protein, everything was fresh & flavorful. I also got the Ruma Latte, which was delicious--sweet & tasted like caramel in a cup. We shared the mochi pancake after seeing it recommended on TikTok! It's was good but not life changing. We went close to opening, so the atmosphere was peaceful & cozy. The staff was kind & welcoming, though we did have to ask a few times for our table to be cleared. Since the two-person tables are small, a bit more attentiveness would've made the experience even better. Overall, great food, cozy vibes, & I'd definitely come back!
Yang's Kitchen is one of my fav brunch spots in the 626. They priotize sourcing local, high quality ingredients and it's apparent in every bite. My must orders are the hanger steak breakfast plate, lemon pepper chicken wings chicken, and chicken liver mousse. I also love their soft serve that they make with Straus milk! The ambiance is rather intimate but it does get really busy. Servers are very helpful with recommendations.
We came early for breakfast/brunch. There are only 3 outdoor tables (we brought a dog) so we didn't want to have to wait. All outdoor tables were rotatingly occupied with people with doggy, so much doggy love in dt Alhambra! The staffs were nice and friendly. Immediately offered doggy bowl for my golden & provided plate, bowl, tiny utensil for my toddler. Inside is nice, spacious, have great vibe & decor, and bathroom is clean. I got the set meal with chicken. Everything was tasty. Chimichurri not very strong and provided great flavor overall. My toddler likes simple but tasty flavors. The portion isn't overly big (normal eating size). We shared the mochi pancakes for the table. It's huge, thin, yummy. My toddler loves it. Great finger food for him & taste even better with the house-made whipped cream. Light, airy, and not overly sweet. Blueberry was plump and fresh. The hubby got the breakfast plate with hangar steak. The scrambled is soft scramble. Steak was nicely cooked, that's about the only thing I tried. He devoured everything else without sharing, so I'm guessing it was good. Our niece got the sesame noodles with chicken. It came in a big plate (probably because it's on the shareable menu). She immediately said it was good. So, pretty much you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Finally got to check Yang's Kitchen off my brunch list! The restaurant serves Asian fusion cuisine with fresh/locally-sourced ingredients in a bright and welcoming space. They don't take reservations for brunch, but they have a Yelp waitlist you can join ahead of time. There was only around a 15 min wait for us when we went on a Sunday for brunch. Service was friendly and attentive, and the dishes we tried were all delicious and thoughtfully prepared. - Cold sesame noodles - so yummy and flavorful! The sesame sauce was so good and nutty and the chili crisp added a nice extra kick. A big portion size so great for sharing too - Breakfast plate - comes with your choice of protein, so we got the grass-fed hanger steak. I love their take on the hash brown - it was hearty and thick with a delightfully crispy exterior - Cornmeal mochi pancake - was so excited to try this one! Loved the mochi texture with the cornmeal flavor, and it was not overly sweet or heavy. Very sharable! Parking: there's a nearby parking structure with free parking as well as an open parking lot directly behind the restaurant
I've been here before, but was told by my friend who comes here frequently because it's one of her favorite places that I had just ordered the wrong things. So I returned and deferred to her ordering, and so glad I did! We got the cold sesame noodles, squash and kale salad, and mochi pancake, and some sort of mushroom/egg dish. My favorites were the first two, all ingredients were super fresh and well seasoned/dressed. Go early as there's typically a wait.
I'll be honest, this place didn't look that amazing from the photos but I'm so glad I gave it a try. It is a fusion restaurant between Asian and American breakfast and brunch, although it felt more Asian Italian fusion. We ordered: Cold crab noodles - it is cold but despite that, it has amazing flavor Dan dan noodles - 10/10 very flavorful. I love the el dente noodles and the peanut sauce was thick and coated the noodles well Pork jowl cha siu - 8/10 the sauce was delicious but a bit on the slaty side so went well with our cold crab noodles. The meat was very very tender and so good, but I just wished that half of it hadn't been fat. Secret potatoes - 10/10 very delicious. Highly recommend this as part of your order. I probably could've ordered a bowl for myself if I was still hungry The servers were very friendly and always made sure we were doing ok. They were helpful in helping us select from the menu and were attentive in taking away our dirty plates. Parking was too hard as there are parking areas behind the building as well as the structure across the street. They had a small outdoor seating area which was perfect as we had our dogs with us while we enjoyed the our meal.
Wow, this might be my favorite bite of the year. I fell in love with literally everything here. My two favorite dishes were the steak and eggs and the cornmeal mochi pancake. I don't usually get scrambled eggs, but this was so velvety and soft, it was heaven sent. the steak was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The pancake was also very pillowy and had an amazing chewy to it. No syrup is needed. Also, didn't leave here without mentioning the hash brown. it was also amazing, get one if you can! Service was phenomenal. The restaurant isn't necessarily the biggest, and a wait is to be expected. But boy, i can't stress enough how good the beer is.
Stopped by for brunch after having this place bookmarked for the longest. The wait wasn't too bad, I was able to join the waitlist before leaving the house, cutting my wait time down to 25mins when I arrived. I ordered the Breakfast Plate with the Grass-fed Hanger Steak as protein and a Yang's Set Meal with the Yuzu Miso Salmon. Both were mediocre, considering the price. Understandably, everything is sourced locally, but flavor wise didn't meet my expectations. The Breakfast Plate with Grass-fed Hanger Steak: The steak had a nice chimichurri sauce, but was extremely chewy. Wished everything was also salted a bit more, the entire dish was bland. The Yang's Set Meal with Yuzu Miso Salmon: The fish was seasoned well but for the price, I thought I would've had a slightly bigger piece. The rice was also on the harder side. Overall, I think it was still a good experience trying out this cute spot. Perhaps the dinner options would be better for me personally, will probably be back to give dinner a try.

This place has been on my list to try for a while now and finally got to try it out. I regret waiting this long to come here because everything from the food to the service was amazing. We ordered multiple dishes to share and our unanimous favorites were the chicken liver mousse with toast and the smoked salmon hash brown. Very clean, bright and airy restaurant that sets the tone for the type of food they serve. Will be back to revisit our favorite dishes and try their rotating seasonal menu! read more

Came by on a Friday night around 8pm and there was still a bit of a wait. We ended up making a quick reservation on OpenTable (luckily there were some slots left) and got seated within 15 minutes. Highly recommend booking ahead, especially on weekends. We ordered the fried chicken wings, dan dan campanelle, and the Hainan fish rice. The wings were fine, but tasted like something I could easily make at home. The dan dan campanelle, on the other hand, was great -- super flavorful and a really interesting twist on the traditional dish. The Hainan fish rice was also tasty, though definitely on the pricier side. Overall, the menu has some unique offerings and is worth checking out at least once. read more
Yang's Kitchen (brunch menu) tops my list of restaurants by a whole mile.. it blew my mind by how complex the flavors were and how fresh the ingredients they used were... there's very few restaurants in America that I put on my holy grail restaurants list sadly, so I'm super happy when I find one that I can put on here SUNDAY, We got on the waitlist at 12 PM est seating time 1 PM, but we didn't get in until ~1:40 PM. There was a good amount people waiting outside. Smoked Fish Dip The bread was warm, pillowy soft and crispy when we received it!! Always a big plus when they bring out warm bread. The fish dip was deliciousssss if you like fish, of course. The texture isn't like a creamy, liquidy sauce-- it's more of a mixture of fish blended with some kind of mayo or cream I am not sure-- and shredded scallions on top. Cold Sesame Noodles I wasn't sure if I was going to like this dish because I don't like cold noodles but ai was pleasantly surprised!! The sesame, nutty flavor came out strong and mixed in with the veggies came a freshness that acted like a palate cleanser or a break from the heavier foods on the table. I think it's a great addition to the main meals :-) Cornmeal Mochi Pancake They say it's their top and most recommended item-- I'll skip it next time. It wasn't my cup of tea.. grainy texture and lack of fluffiness are common with gluten-free pancakes--especially when using cornmeal and mochi flour, which are the two primary aspects I love about pancakes :-( Breakfast Plate w/ Grass Fed Hangar Steak (my top dish!) I'd order this again JUST FOR THE HASHBROWN!! It was unlike any other hash brown I've had before. V crispy on the outside and fluffy and warm potatoes on the inside.. it was like a thiccck McD's hashbrown but less processed and less oily. The eggs were v fluffy and warm. The steak was perfectly medium rare and chimichurri sauce was v gud. No complaints on this dish at all. Next time I'lll go again for their dinner menu and extensive list of wine :') read more
From the beautiful , cozy and inviting atmosphere to the excellent service..Yang's Kitchen exceeded my expectations! I was always curious to try their brunch (which I will be back for one day!!), but the dinner experience was amazing. The dishes are all shareable ..we got little starters and mains, Favorites were Dan Dan Campanella, crab noodles and the grilled cabbage. So much flavor, nothing tooo saucy or overbearing, and the dishes were unique and creative. We paired with wine and mocktails - all of which were refreshing, sweet and delightful. Do not skip dessert! The strawberry soft serve was a perfect sweet treat to end the meal. read more
One of the cutest local restaurants we've found in LA area! It's a sustainable organic restaurant with seasonal greens and the cutest decor inside. The servers are all so nice and constantly check in to make sure your meal is perfect! I got their breakfast plate with organic sausage, eggs, hashbrowns and their seasonal greens. The middle is a scallion ranch of sorts and is delicious with the hashbrown! My absolute favorite though?? The red bean milk with cold brew. It was the perfect amount of sweet and balanced where I could taste the cold brew as well as the red bean together! It was an absolutely genius idea and I'll be back again next time I'm in SoCal! read more

We absolutely love this restaurant, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! We've been regulars here for years, and it has become such a special place for our family. The staff are truly amazing always warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. You can tell they enjoy working here!! One thing we especially appreciate as parents is the Yelp waitlist feature. Being able to join the waitlist online makes such a difference when you have a baby or toddler and helps minimize wait time at the restaurant. This is actually our 5-year-old daughter's favorite restaurant too! It's the only place where she'll happily hand out her favorite stickers to the staff That alone says a lot about how special this place is to our family. As for the food, hash is an absolute must-order, super crispy but not too oily! My go-to dish is the hanger steak cooked medium rare, and it is cooked perfectly EVERY time. The meat is tender, juicy, and flavorful. Oh, and their pancakes! I have also noticed my favorite tea was their premium oolong tea is now not on the menu but the regular oolong tea tastes just as fine! read more
Yes, of course I came to Yang's again -- I love it here! We came to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and as always, it was an amazing experience. I got the breakfast plate, and everything was perfect. The house-made hash browns were a 10/10 -- super crispy and flavorful. I usually skip eggs, but I love theirs. The yolk had that beautiful, rich orange color that just screams quality. I chose the chicken thighs with my plate, which were juicy and packed with flavor, and the fresh salad really balanced everything out. My boyfriend got his usual -- the sesame noodles with avocado and chicken -- and was just as happy with it as always. We both tried the orange wine that was recommended to us, and it was a hit! Light, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the meal. To end the night, we had the sorbet swirl in melon flavor -- our first time trying that one, and wow. I genuinely dream about the sorbet swirl here. It's that good. Yang's never misses. read more

We wanted to try Yang's Kitchen for a while and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service. Jordan's wine flight left us wanting more, too. Such excellent choices. We had the Hainan fish, Dan Dan campanella, blistered snap peas, steelhead belly tartare (stand out!), grilled cabbage and dessert. Delicious. We look forward to trying more things off the dinner menu. read more

Tons of accolades for this modern day Asian fusion farm-to-table brunch spot in Downtown Alhambra - ranked #21 in Yelp's 2022 Top Places to Eat in San Gabriel Valley ( https://blog.yelp.com/community/top-places-to-eat-in-san-gabriel-valley/ ), approved by the Infatuation, ranked multiple times in LA Times 101 Best Restaurants (2020 - 2024), ranked #2 Best Brunch Restaurant in LA by TimeOut (March 2025), etc. [Parking]: Tons of free nearby parking structures in Downtown Alhambra. The closest one is located one block away directly across from Alhambra Library on S 1st Street (First Street Parking Facility). [Waitlist]: The brunch spot utilizes the Yelp Waitlist so visitors can join ahead of time. I joined at 10:30 AM and got a notification at 11:15 AM (45-minute wait). Since our party came on Sunday, our party just visited Alhambra Farmers Market (open from 8:30 AM to 1 PM on each Sunday) so it was a good way to kill time. [Atmosphere]: It has a very similar vibe as if you are visiting one of those fancy brunch spots in Santa Monica / West LA. They also have a small section with bar seats for just 5 spots as well as few outdoor tables. Personally I would recommend getting an indoor table. [Menu]: The menu was fairly easy to decipher. Most of their popular dishes are shareable dishes like Cold Sesame Noodles, Cornmeal Mochi Pancake, Roasted Squash & Kale Salad, and Yang's Fried Chicken Wings. They also offer set meals and I have to admit Steelhead & Ikura Bowl looked really appealing. Yes there's also a wine menu here. *** Cold Sesame Noodles (Semolina organic spaghetti, house sesame sauce, organic Persian cucumbers, pickled carrots, crushed peanuts, cilantro, scallion, house chili crisp - $18): It is pretty much Taiwanese cold noodles and I still recall having one of this at 99 Ranch Market in San Gabriel. While it tasted slightly spicy (which was good), I personally think sesame sauce tasted just a tad salty. Cornmeal Mochi Pancake (Grist & Toll cornmeal, Koda Farms mochiko rice flour, organic whipped cream, seasonal toppings - $18): The pancake came with a side of condensed milk. While pancake had a super fluffy texture, I think my pancake was slightly burnt. Pancake itself didn't really need condensed milk as pancake already tasted slightly sweet. A big thumb up on fresh blueberry. Yang's Fried Chicken Wings (Mary's Heirloom chicken wings, lemon, house salt & pepper - $19): Not greasy but wings tasted a bit dry. *** Overall it was a mediocre experience. I just have a higher expectation given how (1) there's always a wait for this restaurant and (2) higher price points. This is one of those nice brunch date spots I would only come for vibe and less focus on food. read more

Yang's has moved beyond traditional Asian small plates. Now they cater the organic, oriental ingredients with a touch of French/Mediterranean culinary technique. The duck confit with taro is quite unique but I wish I've ordered a glass of red wine to go with it. Not too excited about their black sesame cake -- they only make 6 of them each day. The taste was off to me and barely had the black sesame flavor. The texture of the cake was quite dense and sticky. I almost felt that I was having a muffin or canele. But I do like the outside layer of the cake, where they sprinkle with whiskey caramel to diversify its flavors! Modern, tasty, unique dinning experience. I had brunch here. It wasn't busy. There was no wait. The menu was unique, listing where all the ingredients were sourced. We got the yellow tail. The flavors complemented each other well, and more Chinese than we typically get from sashimi. It was a small portion. We also got the fried chicken wings which were delicious. Well battered and seasoned. We also got the breakfast plate. It came with two eggs, a cornmeal mochi pamcake, hash, a sausage, and sesame toast. I don't normally like hash but this was delishious. Came in for a weekday brunch and there was no wait time. Parking in the back was easy. The place has a very clean modern look. Haven't been back to Yang's Kitchen since my last review...and this time I came with hubby for Sunday brunch since we didn't have anything in mind and wanted to be able to walk over to Main St. instead of drive somewhere. I think hubby & I both have the impression that while Yang's Kitchen's food and dishes are good, it is a bit pricey and can add up quickly. I get the whole "farm-to-table" & fresh ingredients approach, but the protein portions were a bit small & their breakfast/brunch mains are priced by the protein choice...so yeah, it can seem a bit overpriced for some. Though that doesn't take away from the quality of their ingredients. It's just an observation. Anyway, since I came for dinner last time I have always wanted to try Yang's breakfast & brunch, but never got around to it. We ordered: -Cornmeal Mochi Pancake, which was HUGE and I enjoyed it. Served with condensed milk on the side & blueberries and whipped cream. Not too sweet, and a decent-sized shareable dish. -Yang's Set Meal w/ Dry-Aged Barramundi, comes with pickled veggies (LOVE these), half a soy egg, a small-banchan sized cold yam, miso soup and a bowl of 5 grain rice. The barramundi skin was crispy and topped with chimichurri, which was nice. Paired nicely with the rice and pickled veggies. Miso soup wasn't overly salty. (I didn't take a picture because I forgot, was too hungry...whoopsie, lol!) -Hubby ordered the Breakfast Plate w/ Hangar Steak which was also topped with some chimichurri and comes with two eggs, their house made hash brown (unique & good! Lots of crispy edges), and salad. Your choice on how you want your eggs & steak cooked. I think hubby wished the steak portion was a little bigger...but everything tasted good. Their Diet Coke was in a small 8oz glass bottle, which I thought was so cute. They also have a decent selection of drinks like wines, coffee, teas, fresh OJ, etc. Parking is available nearby at lots on First Street & walk over. 2 unisex restrooms available in the back, the one I used was clean. Restaurant has a clean and simple aesthetic. They have Yelp Waitlist available so you can join the waitlist before arriving and check in with the host when you get there, which we utilized on our walk over from home :) read more

Booked a reservation on a Friday night for a party of 3 because it was under a promotion with infatuation/chase and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has Bestia vibes, promotes family style sharing. Food and service was top tier, but on the higher end of pricing. Presentation and ambience, lovely. Extensive wine list. I was surprised to see that the place was fully packed (almost the entire night). They have a few tables outside but would recommend sitting inside. Everything we got: Chicken Liver Mousse ($18 - 8/10) - served with sesame toast. Pretty good, unique, acquired taste? Cold Crab Noodles ($29 - 9/10) - cold noodles served with crab, has fried shallots which complimented the dish very well. Pork Jowl Cha Siu ($20 - 9/10) - served with Chinese hot mustard. This was actually really good, but I am biased because I love pork jowl. Secret Potatoes ($15 - 10/10) - served with chili crunch, had the mala numbing spice. Very good if you're somewhat into schezuan. Not incredibly overpowering, just perfect. Grilled Dry Aged Fish Collars ($21 - 9/10) - I love fish collar. Tender, flavorful, comes with two pieces. Dan Dan campanelle ($24 - 5/10) - the texture of the noodles were great, but I am not the biggest fan of peanut sauce. It's essentially peanut sauced noodles. Steak Frites ($49 - 9/10) - steak was cooked perfectly, and the sauce complimented it very well. Served with fries, which were delicious, almost the exact same style as mcd. For dessert, we opted for the black sesame cake ($12 - 10/10), it was veeery good. Not too strong black sesame, served with a cream. Delicious. We also opted for a 1L bottle of Riesling, was great. Overall, the food was excellent. It was on the pricier side (was over $300 after tip), but if you took money out of the equation, everything was delicious. The one negative we encountered was that a lot of dishes were limited in supply. They ran out of the chicken wings, we took the last slice of black sesame cake, and I saw other tables at the end of the night with smashed potatoes instead of fries in their steak frites. Parking can be found in the nearby structure on 1st street. Can get packed though. Would I come back again? Sure, everything was delicious, but I better be prepared to shell out some money if I want to try a lot of dishes. read more
I finally managed to beat the lines and eat at Yang's kitchen and, wow, it was worth the wait and the hype! The food was so simple yet so flavorful and delicious. The cold noodles were the perfect dish after a hot day walking around at the farmers market. I still think about the mushrooms and the fluffy scrambled noodles on the breakfast plate. The service was excellent too. I can't wait to come back to try their other dishes. I highly recommend! read more
Wow, excellent service and delicious food and drinks. Nice decor, clean and good for dates or small party lunch of dinner. We came twice in one week to try the the brunch and dinner menu for a special occasion. We loved the coffee, veggies, pickles, fish, eggs, tofu. Busy on a weekend. Definitely put in yourself in on the yelp wait list while you're en route. Theresa a public parking structure nearby that's convenient if you don't want to bother with the street parking. Place inside is clean and simple but definitely fitting to the whole farm to table vibe. Food was ok. Of all the food we've ordered from the meat dish to the liver mouse to the mochi pancake and the noodle, my favorite was their braised meji tofu. read more

I really wanted this restaurant to be great, and I can absolutely see why it's getting hype. The concept is exciting: a modern Taiwanese fusion spot with high-quality ingredients, creative takes on classic dishes, and flavors that show a lot of promise. The space itself is quite small and more café-style than a full-service restaurant, and reservations are required. Even with a reservation, we ended up waiting about 20 minutes past our scheduled time to be seated, which was a bit frustrating. I ordered the Hainan fish rice. The fish itself was cooked perfectly -- crispy skin, tender inside, and well-seasoned with great flavor. Unfortunately, the rice was a major disappointment. It was undercooked, hard, and felt unfinished, which really took away from what could have been an excellent dish. Overall, the food had strong ideas and good flavors, but the execution just wasn't there. By the end of the meal, no one at our table left happy, especially given the price. The bill came out to $185 for three people, and only one person even ordered a single beer. I may come back to give it another try because there's real potential here, but for now, it didn't live up to expectations. read more
Can't believe it took me this long to give this place a try. Everything is so delicious and packed with flavor. The service is so nice here too, and this place has a sweet intimate vibe for dinner. The appetizers were excellent but the main dishes were slightly disappointing. We LOVED the chicken liver mousse, especially the fluffy but perfectly toasted bread that came with it. Fish collars and snap peas were also delicious and cooked perfectly. But the hainan fish rice and Dan Dan campanelle missed the mark. The fish in hainan fish rice was cooked really nicely but the chicken fat rice was basically just butter and barely any chicken flavor. Dan Dan campanelle was way too saucy/watery, and the sauce overpowered the mushrooms. I strongly prefer traditional Dan Dan noodles over this version. Otherwise service was spectacular and vibes were great! Parking is very easy bc there's a garage nearby with free 4 hr parking. read more

There is a reason there's always a wait at this spot. The food is so good, been multiple times for breakfast. Service is nice , restaurant is always clean. The items can be a little pricey but it's worth it ! the eggs & mochi pancake is amazing !! I did notice they recently removed the courtesy sourdough bread from their breakfast plate, now if you want it , you have to add it. read more

Had some business at in the neighborhood and took the opportunity to have lunch at Yang's with a friend. Dry-aged barramundi collar - yum! House salsa verde and chili crisp drizzled on top was Steelhead & ikura bowl - one of the prettiest bowls I've been presented with in quite some time. Fantastic grilled yuzu-miso-marinated dry-aged steelhead, ikura, greens, house pickles, marinated jammy egg on top of multigrain rice...perfect lunch! I mixed it all together and had it bimbimbap style so I could get a little bit of everything in each bite. Not pictured: Arroz caldo Chicken liver mousse We were short on time so didn't make it to dessert. I'm a little sad I missed the soft serve. Service was a little off. It wasn't busy but we waited 5 minutes before they would seat us even though we used the Yelp Waitlist check in. Our server disappeared for long intervals during our meal so water refills were nonexistent. But we still had a great lunch. read more

Great food comes from great ingredients. Loved the menu and the Asian inspired but clean options. It's definitely a bit pricier than the conventional counterparts options. It's a nice to have restaurant for a healthier asian alternative. Service was pretty spotty and minimal. yang's kitchen is a chinese-fusion spot that features local sustainable and organic ingredients in a tapas style. we decided to try and use our chase credit for any featured infatuation restaurant! what i ordered - smoked pork jowl cha siu: 7/10 || this looked so good but unfortunately it was mainly fat and almost no meat which was just too fatty for me. the outer glaze and flavor was tasty though - dungeness crab cold noodle: 8/10 || so refreshing. the bite of the snap peas with the tender crab provided such a light bite that i kept coming back for - steelhead belly tartare: 5/10 || not what i expected when we ordered tartare. the steelhead belly was spread thin on a thin rice cracker of sorts with kosho cream to top. the flavor was lacking and the textures left something to be desired. - grilled dry-aged fish collars: 8.5/10 || amazing grill flavor and they used calamansi to add some citrus and sweetness to the dish that balanced everything. i know this was an appetizer but i wished they had an entree sized portion! - hainan fish rice: 9/10 || never had a fish hainan style but now i need this in my life. the fish was tender, the rice was flavorful, the sauce was gingery and brought everything together so well yang's kitchen is a little pricey given the portion size, but their hainan fish rice, fish collars, and crab noodle are dishes that piqued my interest. some of their other dishes could use some workshopping but it was overall a good dining experience. read more
The overall service and ambiance was great. We made a reservation and we were seated on time. I think it's a nice farm to table restaurant. Everything is very light tasty, not too oily or salty which is great. This kinda falls into the fufu food category for me because I wasn't blown away by the food. Everything was just a slight step above okay. Except the mapo tofu, we did not like that and tbf the server also told us it wasn't his favorite. I would go here again but I don't know if I would be the one to suggest it first. We tried just about everything on the menu and we ordered 2 of the certain dishes since there were 7 of us. It roughly came out to bring around $750. If I am factoring price into the rating this would probably go down to 3 stars just because I feel like it wasn't worth $100 per person. That was how much it took to leave satisfied, we didn't have any leftovers. But I just can't bring myself to give it 3 stars so I will give it a 4. Maybe 3.8 is a more realistic rating. read more

Got to see people passing by the sidewalk as we waited for the food Food was delicious but price to food ratio was a bit heavy. Got a few more shareable appetizers that I forgot to photograph like the fried chicken and the fish. They were pretty good though. But might be a few hundred for a group of four adults to be full. Yang's Kitchen is located on Main Street, right across from Popping Yolk Cafe. Parking is available on the street and also in parking lots/ structures within a reasonable walking distance. My husband, our little girl dog and I came here for lunch with our friend Tora M. We decided upon this restaurant last minute since another restaurant we had initially chosen was closed for vacation. And because Yang's kitchen was dog friendly, this seemed to be a good fit (there are only 3 tables outside with covered seating). Tora M signed up for the Yelp waitlist, which helped cut down the waiting time once we arrived. We were seated around 1:30 pm and given menus. After looking over the menu, we ended up purchasing: Yang's Set Meal with Grass Fed Hanger Steak, $28 prior to tax- My husband ordered this. It was nice that he was asked by our server how he would like his steak cooked. He asked for medium and it was cooked to that doneness. The steak was good. My husband thought the food was good but didn't feel full after eating. Side of Grilled Seasonal Farmer's Market Vegetables, $13- We were not aware that this was a side dish, because based on the menu description, it stated that the Yang's Set Meal comes with a side of "seasonal Farmers Market vegetables" and so we thought this was it. We had just asked about it when my husband ordered this meal so didn't realize I was charged for this until I paid for the bill. But despite the mix up, it was good but not sure if it is worth the price Cornmeal Mochi Pancake, $18 prior to tax- I ordered this and liked the persimmon topping that was included with the pancake and would not have thought to make such a topping with persimmon. The pancake itself had a good chew and texture from both the mochi and cornmeal. The size of one large pancake is plenty for one person. Cold Sesame Noodles, $18 prior to tax- Tora M ordered this. I had a small bite of this and thought it tasted good. Oolong Tea, 8 oz, $6 prior to tax- We got two ordered for this, one for Tora M and one for my husband. They both liked the tea but was surprised and disappointed to find out that $6 each is just for one serving and that they do not get any refills. Elaine's Purin Pudding, $10 prior to tax- Tora M decided to order this as a dessert to share. I had a bite and thought it was good but was fine was just the one bite. I think my husband also thought it was good and Tora M as well. ----------------------- (Total= $109.12 after tax, prior to tip) Although service was very friendly (the employees all seemed to really love seeing my little girl dog and this cute corgi sitting at the table next to us), it was minimal. Food is good but portion wise does not seem to fit the bill for the price. I don't really see myself coming back because of those prices. But overall, our dining experience was positive. Please note that there are single unisex restrooms in the very back and were clean to use during our visit. read more
tip! join the yelp waitlist if you plan to come on a weekend. it get's pretty crazy here in terms of wait time. located on alhambra main street, which means parking is found on the streets or nearby structures! theres also a small parking lot behind. the food offers nice asian fusion flavors and textures. my gf and i split a breakfast plate with the grass fed steak ($28! oof!) and an eggplant omelette. my fav part of the dish was prob the crispy but fluffy hashbrown and the perfectly scrambled eggs. the omelette reminded me of a korean seafood pancake, so it was v good. the steak was literally smaller than an iphone 14, which is kinda crazy. for $28 you'd think it would be at least twice the size... not super worth, but it was tasty very aesthetic establishment, with the cutest details in decor. its pretty tight and small inside though. overall I'd come back and try their other dishes! :-) read more
Bro this place has some amazing fusion Japanese-Taiwanese-American breakfast and brunch items, I got their traditional breakfast that had amazing grilled chicken thigh, Asian veggies, a hash brown and eggs how you like it (I got it scrambled). Met up with my filmmaker/actor friend Anthony Ma here and he mentioned that many local Asian American luminaries in the entertainment industry like Steven Yeun are spotted here. Relatively spacious with many seats available at counters or tables. Service exceptional with many cool servers as well. Highly, highly recommended! read more

We usually set up 3 outdoor tables in front of our restaurant each day that we're open (weather permitting). Each outdoor table can seat 4-6 people. Unfortunately, it is not covered, but it can be heated.
Do you allow corkage?
Yes we do, it's $25 per bottle (standard size). We waive one standard corkage for each bottle you order off our wine or sake list!
Do they have vegetarian or vegan options?
they offer a vegetable market plate ... not sure about vegan. best to give them a call to ask
Is your outdoor patio dog friendly?
Yes, the waitress was also nice enough to bring a doggy water bowl
Would you please consider bringing back more of the pre-covid menu? The scallion pancake wraps, seaweed soup, soft serve ice cream. Also from the covid menu -- tomato egg and chicken rice. We stopped by recently and really missed these. Thank you!

No, I don't think do. You order from the counter, get a number, and find a table. The seats are limited. A server will bring the food to you.
