This cafe has surprisingly a lot of seating! I didn't expect there to be a whole back section too and it was spacious. I saw people studying there so seems like the staff doesn't rush you. We tried the sujuk platter $15, fried halloumi $9, lamb stew $17, matcha latte and ali palmer. what's interesting for the drinks is that the menu shows the "starts at" but doesn't give you the price for the larger size so we didn't know there was a larger size until ordering. The food was good tho! The ali palmer was light, refreshing and not too sweet! I'd def come back and try the other food and drink items.
Delicious cardamom brown sugar iced latte, I was so glad they were able to do decaf! It was not too sweet at all, which I love, but I liked the lightly spiced flavor. Lots of seating even though it's busy on a weekend, and your order at the counter, they bring it to you pretty quickly. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious and unique, had a nicely spiced thin katsu like crust and a tangy slaw, on brioche. The fries were crispy and flavorful. Reasonable prices and sweet décor. Great spot in Sunset Park.
I've been seeing this spot on Uber Eats for ages, but I've never gotten to try it. My mom and I came here for a quick lunch today, and it was nothing short of delicious! It's the kind of place you go up to the counter to order, but if you're eating in, they'll bring the food right to your table. The staff was friendly, and we got our food very promptly. We both got the Riz Bowl, which was packed full of veggies and spices. It reminded me a lot of Moroccan food. It comes with a side salad, basmati rice, and a spicy green sauce that you can top everything off with. The rice was just as flavorful as the meal itself. I also got an iced matcha latte, which was the perfect day to cool down. I will definitely be coming back!
The best coffee and food! Nicest staff! I forgot the name of my coffee but it was one with cardamom in it and it was absolutely lovely. The grilled halloumi and fig sandwich was also great and generous size. Plus have to love their solidarity with Palestine worth being a staple spot for sure! Great to work, solo dine, or chat with friends

Adeni Chai - perfect, no further comments Masala Chai - was a bit too sweet Fried Chicken Burger - seasoned with Yemeni Hawaij, topped with a brussel sprout coleslaw, pickles and our homemade plum chipotle sauce served on a brioche bun with a side of hand cut Zaatar Fries 5/5 The brussel sprout coleslaw was so unique and the plum chipotle sauce is a master piece. The fries were under-salted though. It's great to have such an extensive savory menu at a cafe! I want to go back and try the chicken and waffles, fig and cheese toast, B.A.T, lamb haneeth sandwich.
The fig sandwich? AWESOME. Service? Awesome. Pistachio latte? AWESOME. Great vibes in a quaint cafe.
Interesting coffee and good eats. I got the yemeni breakfast and brown sugar cardamom latte. The breakfast was pretty substantial - I was unable to finish it. It comes with beans, cheese, olives, scrambled eggs and a delicious traditional flatbread. They did not skimp on the bread. There are a few high tops and small tables. I doubt I will return to this part of brooklyn but I would if I could. My latte was amazing.
A nice little coffee shop with both prepared foods and baked goods. They even have their own roasted beans for purchase. There's a good amount of seating, so I was able to have my coffee and a toast to stay. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a fig toast, totaling around $17.50. The flat white was a bit thin, and the toast was a bit small for the price. The toast had both fresh and dried figs but definitely more dried. I wish it had more fresh figs, as the honey topping was a bit too sweet. Both were still good overall, but pricey for what it was.
Coffee shop with food? Yes! Yafa is a chill cafe with tons of seating (front and back room). My boyfriend and I came around lunchtime and shared the fried chicken sandwich, which was incredible. As for drinks, I liked the cardamom brown sugar latte, and the tahini chai latte was even better! Definitely recommended for a great option in the area.
This review is solely for delivery. Hubby and I wanted a lazy Saturday morning with some good eats. Queue to finding Yafa Cafe as a recommended breakfast spot on GrubHub and we both finished our meal super impressed. The coffee/tea selection is fun featuring options like a maple latte and tahini vanilla chai. I opted for the pistachio cardamom cappuccino and it was solid - not too sweet and pretty tasty! I got the BAT breakfast sandwich and added an egg. Guys, it was delicious. The sourdough was crispy and oily - the turkey bacon wasn't store bought turkey bacon, it was like no other turkey bacon I've tasted. My husband opted for the lamb poutine and loved it. Gotta say - I'm pleasantly surprised by this cafe and will def be ordering from here again.
Absolutely loved being here!! The stay was pleasant and the iced caramel latte was delicious!! I also tried their matcha lemon bar and it was super yummy!! They support Palestine and I do too as a Palestinian myself The only tip id leave is that it's a small location so not many seats but everything else was great!! They have a secondary location near the garment district in Manhattan!!

I finally got around to checking this place out and ordered the ($14) lamb poutine for lunch. It was a good amount of food and tasted pretty good even though the lamb was a little dry. I did notice they had a good selection of pastries that I'll give a try next time.
Food: This is an excellent Yemeni cafe right outside of the 45th Street subway station in Sunset Park. The food and drinks are amazing, and I would highly recommend you try this cafe. They offer a variety of coffees, teas, cold drinks, sandwiches, toasts, salads, small bites, pastries, and brunch items (weekends only). We tried the shakshuka and lamb haneeth sandwich. Both were delicious, and I would recommend them both. The shakshuka is served with two slices of crispy and fresh toast. The shakshuka is served warm with three eggs topped with goat cheese. The lamb sandwich was very flavorful and served on crispy toasted bread with French fries. I can't wait to go back and try all of their other items. I would also recommend their orange blossom lemonade. It's very aromatic with a hint of sweetness. Service: Staff are so pleasant and welcoming. There is a server who brings you your food and clears your empty dishes after eating. Ambiance: The cafe is not big, but they have a good number of tables in the front and back of the cafe. Not ideal for large groups. The decor and ambiance is very nice and homey. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this cafe! read more
Saw this place on TikTok for their awesome brunch menu but stopped by for a drink to stay warm! I absolutely LOVED the Tahini Chai - only had it hot but it would also be divine as cold. Cannot wait for my next visit to try more of their specialty drinks and foods! read more

There's a good amount of seating, so I was able to have my coffee and a toast to stay. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a fig toast, totaling around $17.50. Nice cafe where you can catch up with friends or catch up on some work. They have more seating areas in the back of the room. There's even a big communal table at the back as well if you're work on a group project or catching up with a large group of friends. When I was there, there were a lot of people just doing work with their laptop. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my friend got the lamb sandwich. The chicken sandwich reminded me of katsu where they thinly pound the chicken meat. The sauces and the slaw is a good addition. However, I don't think I like pounded chicken in a sandwich. I rather have a thick juicy and crispy chicken. The lamb burger seasoning was good but it was missing some pickled vegetable to lightening up the richness. Overall liked the ambiance and staff were friendly. Wasn't that impressed with the food. read more
As you slowly stroll along the rolling incline and sound traffic of 4th Ave, this humble little Yemeni spot draws you in like a moth to a flame. Ive been meaning to set foot into this place for quite some time now, and I am so glad that I finally did. This is a cozy little cafe nestled in a long line of retail spaces on the very busy 4th Ave, right in the heart of Sunset park Brooklyn. Seating is strategically placed so the space feels open and cozy all at once. Staff is super friendly and ordering is fairly simple. I came in during the morning so I decided to give the chicken and waffles a try with a side of the spiced yemeni black tea which is my favorite. The tea was pretty standard, I wish they offered honey to add as a source of sweetness, but sugar did the trick. The chicken and waffles were pretty good, I liked that the chicken breading was seasoned properly, however, I will say that the amount of chicken was way less than what it should be. The chicken piece was also very thin and so in the frying process it became chewy and hard. The waffle was pretty standard, a little bit more on the doughy side, and I personally like crispy light textured waffles. The pairing was good with the syrup, but I do wish that they also offered some sort of softened butter on the side. I'm excited to try other things on their menu, especially the fried chicken sandwich and the lamb sandwich. If you're in the neighborhood, make sure to come check this place out. read more

We were greeted in the front by some guys and they were very helpful and seemed they love their job. I was sad that they were out of the Yemen breakfast .... And the lamb stew .... Both of what I was excited about having. Regardless The Food was super fresh and great and came out fast. We waiting a few minutes for a table and it's casual but I feel can also be above casual if you wanted it to be. Super cute date spot with great lighting! Super crowded today - could barely snag a table and I could see why! The food and service is phenomenal. On Friday - Sundays, they have a brunch menu. I got the lamb stew which turned out to be delicious albeit the portion size is a little small. The pieces of lamb and okra were my favorite. The bread that it came with (reminds me of a roti but less crispy and more doughy). We also got the chicken samboosas which were flavorful and delicious. The salsa / dip it came with a little spicy. As for the drinks: pink panther latte (can skip, although it looks so cute, it just kind of tastes milky) and the orange blossom lemonade was so so good. It was refreshing with a hint of floral at the end that goes so well together. I would come again just to order the lemonade. I have to come back again to try their chicken sandwich and lamb poutine fries. read more

Cool cafe. It was nice walking in and seeing the classic elements of a hipster coffee shop - t shirts for sale, serious people at laptops. The coffees were delicious - I love the blend of modern and traditional stuff. The food options look pretty good too. Fingers crossed hopefully they introduce homemade baked goods at some point. It was definitely a place you don't expect to see while driving down fourth avenue. read more

Been loving this little cafe since it opened up (forgot what year). I love the idea of a coffee shop in sunset park! Instead of running to the slope or the city. Their coffee quality is amazing and they always have the nicest staff. They have more seating in the back with outlets and books to read. It's very convenient for people who just want to get some work done while sipping on good coffee. read more

My favorite cafe in the neighborhood. I've come here multiple times and have never been disappointed. My go to is either the pistachio iced latte or the iced Adeni (Latte). The halal bacon is also pretty good if I'm in the mood to grab breakfast as well. I also love the Yemeni art pieces displayed throughout the cafe, they made great use of the space to give it a homey feel. Definitely a must try if you're ever in the neighborhood read more
My first time stopping in to Yafa, I grabbed a salad and iced tea to go. While I waited for my order I took in the decor and street facing window seating which was lovely. My salad, for the price, lacked severely in texture, flavor, and creativity. It looked almost exactly like a bodega salad to me, and I paid almost 30 in total for the drink and food. I would come back, but likely only for coffee or tea next time. read more
TLDR: the lamb sandwich could use a bit more flavor but the coffee is incredible and the chicken sandwich is perfect. The fries are potatoey and well seasoned and it's a great spot to do work in / stop by for midday coffee. -- -- The ambiance is clean and open. and there's lots of natural light. The cardamom latte may be the best I've ever had. In my life. I'm particular about my coffee (needs to be sweetened but can't be overly sweet, needs to have the perfect milk to espresso ratio, etc) and this hit every checkmark. My dining partner got the fried chicken sandwich and I got the lamb sandwich (which came recommended from the counterperson). Both came with a side of fries and the portion sizes were big. The chicken sandwich had a lot of great flavors and was a good balance of light but savory. My lamb sandwich had a really great, tender texture but could have used more flavor. It tasted a bit like a meat stew with onions to flavor it when I wish I could've tasted more spices. Super filling though and in general a great meal. The food came to our table quick and everyone was very kind. The staff gave us great recommendations and are super relaxed. Can't wait to visit this spot again next time I'm in sunset park! read more

Enjoyed this coffee + brunch but it wasn't exceptional! Hence the 4/5. Nice home-y environment and the staff are super welcoming and helpful. Food-wise, pretty subtle coffee flavor but well-made. I think I'd get an Adeni chai or something more clearly Yemeni next time. Shakshuka and honestly all the food in general was good but was either undersalted or under-spiced... either way, lacked some flavor punch all around, but still enjoyed it a lot. If I lived nearby I'm sure I'd return but probably won't make that trek too often. Still recommend trying! read more

Cute little cafe place! Got their four leaf lavender which was the matcha and lavender latte. So creamy and delicious! Also got the sunset Sammy and hash brown sandwich which both were so good. Cant go wrong with either one! Both had a side salad which the dressing was sweet but not too sweet! Wish I knew what it was so I can buy in the store. Definitely will be back again when im in town read more
This was one of my favorite coffee shops in NY! The pita pocket with the grilled sausages was perfectly put together. The spicy mayo drizzled on top was soo good. Definitely recommend the pita pocket! The coffee was so delicious-- I got a custom lavender and cardamom brown sugar latte and it was just sweet enough to taste both the lavender and cardamom (like a minty lavender). The cafe had plenty of space to study and do work. The baristas were so kind in taking away our plates and also providing recommendations to the menu. Would highly recommend if you're around the area. read more

If you've had this place on your to try list, just go already. The food is so damn good. The shakshuka is perfectly spiced and the sourdough (I think) bread was so good I almost ordered another round. The lamb poutine is chefs kiss and who doesn't like potatoes with cheese and gravy? I didn't try the lamb haneeth sandwich but I was told it was a solid choice. Tip for people who haven't gone before, you can sit at any table that's not taken, there's also more seating in the back of the restaurant, and then you scan the QR code on the table to order. Then the food is brought out to you and you also pay online as well. read more

My brother just moved to the neighborhood and I've been wanting to try Yafa. We got them iced: pistachio cappuccino, tahini chai, and cardamom brown sugar latte. All three were delicious. The pistachio cappuccino was stronger than the others but still delicious. The pistachio flavor wasn't very strong. The tahini chai was probably our overall favorite, the perfect amount of sweet and spice. They were quick and friendly. The cafe was clean and very vibey. I will definitely be back next time I visit read more

a great day starts here :) great coffee and matcha (perf temp + milk froth) their house special cardamom brown sugar latte + adeni chai + pistachio cappuccino are also great. always appreciate the pretty latte art! yummmy food! i've had many things off their menu (sunset sammy, fried chicken sandwich, avocado toast, lamb haneeth sandwich, the burger etc) and everything was consistently good. the fries are so good & perfectly seasoned every time very clean with lots of seating + wifi so it's great for laptop work. lovely decor and cozy ambiance that makes u feel at home. staff here are really kind and efficient (never waited long for my order). top tier management! my fav cafe and such a gem in the neighborhood read more
