Almost Poke Bowl with spicy lime mayo dressing. Delicious!

**update** The large table is used to complete their work for the coffee shop. If you sit there, be aware that you will share the table with the employee! No big deal, just kinda deal with it or move to a different seat, if available. It's large enough that it isn't too uncomfortable! No outlets for your laptop or phones. This is by design. I noticed that If you stay longer than an hour, the workers start to make you feel uncomfortable. It was insinuated that half an hour is the time limit. There was no sign to indicate this. Keep that in mind. It's more like a sip and go place or just get your coffee and leave. Not a hangout spot. That being said, this is not a good place for freelancers to work or to really hangout. It might be better with large groups. I haven't really been here more than a handful of times so I can't be certain. It's a shame because it is mainly empty. I have lived in this neighborhood for nearing seven years. This is a very diverse neighborhood with people from all parts of Europe, Mideast, South America, Mexico, Asia as well as the US. The coffeeshop employees seem to be from different parts of the Mideast. Some are Jewish and others are not. It makes it more interesting to watch all of the exchanges between patrons and the employees. Their interactions appear to be mainly cordial. However, there seems to be a tension due to my sitting there, even by various patrons that pop in to visit the coffeeshop. It can be distracting and uncomfortable like most of my limited interactions in Borough Park. Despite those few things that I chalk up to nothing more than slight intolerance (than anything really toxic), it is still a nice setting to sit for a half an hour, drink your coffee, eat your food, and maybe have a small think. Considering it is a coffeeshop with cafe style seating, management might want to rethink that unspoken policy and keep in mind that salad bowls can easily take over a half hour to eat. It's not a fast food joint with their pricey 14-20 dollar salads! Delicious but !! Keep in mind, just as a lot of freelancers or people who enjoy hanging out at coffee shops do, I am always on the lookout for a new coffeeshop or inexpensive cowork to change up my setting. Working from home can be a challenge unfortunately. When I really need to get something done, I like to travel as little as possible to begin to search for clients and finish assignments. A nice atmosphere helps! To the management: Maybe you could drum up more business by offering something similar to what other coffee shops do; co-working with the Spacious App. It might be tricky here because of the expectation of things being a certain way, but money is money, during the slow summer months, it might be a good way to fix that. I really like the set up and ambience of the coffeeshop. I enjoy going when it's mainly empty and trying to write a little before my brain shuts off!

Love the coffee here! I happened to be there. Just got an iced latte and waited for bf. The shop decor is beautiful, not many customers in, so it was pretty chill. I loved the quiet moment. The coffee tastes great! It's not bitter at all, rich.

This is as good as it gets within within a few miles. They have a solid pourover setup, they have that awesome water temp kettle that blue bottle uses, they have a roaster right in the front, next to the bags of green coffee they source and roast in house. The decor is farm house kitch, which looks great but isnt necessary for the level of coffee they produce. I am happy that less than 10 mins from home there is coffee roasted just a few days ago. The shop is really nice, they are a classic mom and pop setup and they go out of their way to make you know they value your business. I really had a great experience here. Oh also they also have that Japanese cold brew slow drip setup that looks like a breaking bad prop, I hope to see it in action and have a taste.

As I walk in, the friendly lady behind the counter asks me what I would like. I respond: A cappuccino please. Then, I carefully inquire further for what baked goods are available with a smile. In her reply, she tells me sadly that there is only croissants. So not being picky, I tell her: Great, I'll have one. Next, she brings me a cappuccino on a glass saucer and my croissant on a dish. Also, there are numerous napkins, sugar, long stemmed spoon given to me as well. I felt like a sports lounge vibe with many tables and chairs (probably enough to seat 35 people at least). Most demographic would be elders, mostly men, in their 40's to 60's kicking back and enjoying the hot, lazy afternoon. It was around 3 pm and I just got off a flight. I found the service impolite and dismissive. And the coffee pod, yes a COFFEE POD AT A CAFÉ is outrageous. Well aside from me noticing a bit to late to stop the process I watched her make it and seen the liquid coming out beige at best. I actually thought she was running a cleaning of the machine, because the color just wasn't the color even a blond roast would be. I mentioned it looked light, to which she replied it's not light it's black coffee it's dark. Well I took my sip, left a dollar tip and left the coffee on the counter. With the myriad of cafes in Brooklyn these days, I would have been better with mud from the bodega.

I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.

I felt like I was inside someone's home and felt welcomed and comfortable. Not loud and well lit. Service (5/5): We came at an off hour during the weekend around 1:30pm there was still around 6 parties dining in. The staff provided good recommendations and good service. When asked for water without any lemon slices, they provided bottled water at no extra cost! Food: (4/5) - rated New York Times top 100 Best Restaurants in New York City in 2025 Every dish came with a small cup of sour cream / Tzatziki based sauce that went with every dish. This was a must and this was mastered very well. Kutaby with chicken and lamb (4/5) - we ordered one each but the lamb was far superior than the chicken. Guru Hingal (4/5) - served in a warmed bowl with a lid in a bed of soft pasta and minced lamb. The pasta reminded me of chow fun (Chinese rice flat noodles) and then some seasoned minced lamb. While overall there were flavors in there, it was still lacked flavors and required to be drowned in the Tzatziki sauces or perhaps a order of table hot sauce. Finally we got the Lamb Lulya Kebab (5/5): this was by far the best dish of the meal! The meat was so wonderfully seasoned throughout, juicy, and complemented well with the rice, onions, and tomato based dip. The wraps themselves were way too small to enjoy using hands so we definitely reconstructed on our plates and attempts with our hands.

They were so delicious - perfectly crispy and not oily at all. The perfect shape too. I don't even like French fries like that but I couldn't stop eating them. They also have fresh bread that was made in house - that was delicious with the eggplant dip that we ordered (afjar). The grill platters were so delicious. I would recommend the grill platter so you can try different types of meat. But each meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We got a house salad with the meat and it was nice and refreshing. It's the original Lady M - layers of crepes clearly stacked with copious amounts of butter.
