Small and cute little cafe but not much seating. They serve the standard range of espresso drinks such as lattes. They also have variety of non dairy milks including oat milk! I enjoyed the dirty chai oat latte a lot. The chai latte comes unsweetened but feel free to add some simple syrup! There are also a variety of pastries to choose from- no vegan options though. I probably have walked past this cafe 500 times and never thought to step in. Today I decided on a whim to check it out as it was not only blustery cold but I was starving after a grueling workout . O!M!G!!!!!!!!!! This place is wickedly Cool with a Capital C!!!! Funky cool beats, amazing friendly service , cutest decor and yummy yummy yummy sandwiches made with pure love . OS is a great spot and by far my favorite coffee shop in South Slope (and I used to work at a few). I always come in the early mornings and get their amazing pastries fresh out of the oven--the artichoke and goat cheese quiche is incredible. Coffee is well made, delicious, and fairly-priced. The owners are always working and are friendly and kind. Lots of outdoor seating--three benches and four or five small tables with chairs. Great spot to catch up with a friend, read a book, or work on a laptop outside for a bit. The best people watching on 6th, too! read more

OS cafe is a small but intimate cafe. I decided to stop by today., so glad I did. I ordered the apple, brie, arugula, and dijon mustard sandwich on focaccia.. OMG, it was absolutely delicious! I also ordered a small coffee, and the owner informed me they serve coffee from cafe grumpy. The coffee was fresh and tasty. Pastries are also served, I didn't try one today, but definitely next time I stop in. The cafe has about 5 tables, it is small, but cozy, and there are tables outside if you choose to eat outdoors on a nice day. I will definitely be back to try every sandwich on the menu.. The owner is very friendly and warm and took the time to answer any questions I had. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend OS Cafe!! read more

This is a little neighborhood gem! They roast their own beans and have a very nice pull of espresso and fresh baked pastries. If you go at the right time you might get a warm croissant (caution they can be a little squishy when warm). Wonderful customer service by the owners. The coffee! The coffee!! The coffee!!! This is it folks, some if the best coffee I have ever had. The cappuccinos and lattes are out if this world because they feature Cafe Grumpy's Heartbreaker espresso and Battenkill Valley. The rich flavors of Heartbreaker espresso get enhanced by the decadence, creaminess and sweetness of the milk! It is true synergy. Also, the barista's, Javed's, attention to detail is phenomenal. Now I come to OS Cafe every morning to grab a coffee and sometimes pick from the assortment of Balthazaar breads and pastries, Chocolate Room goodies, and shortbread imported from Short Bread House of Edinburgh, Scotland! I'm also excited to try the vegetarian sandwiches they just added to the menu. Wow, haven't even gotten to what really makes OS great! If you're like me and you love to have spots in your neighborhood where you can come for great vibes and a homey feel...this is it. I was on a 1.5 weeks visit from the San Francisco Bay Area, and made this coffee place my regular morning stop during my stay. They have served consistently among the best lattes I've ever had, and their pastries are mouth watering delicious. They have outdoor sitting which is fun to have in this sweet Brooklyn neighborhood. I had a thoroughly average experience here on a Saturday morning. The one employee working appeared extremely frazzled, doing the work of at least two people. The texture of the almond croissant I ordered was not right at all- very chewy on the ends to the extent that it sort of hurt my mouth to chew (odd, considering the rest of the reviews lauding this place's pastries). I carried my small dog inside, which is sort of the unspoken rule of the Park Slope area. The barista told me dogs weren't allowed inside, okay, fine, yes- but upon further observance, there weren't any signs stating such. This review covers only pastries and ice cream on 3 separate visits. Visit 1 - Ice cream. WAY overpriced for the size of scoops you get, but it's Van Leeuwen, so the flavor was good. Still 2 scoops cost almost as much as a pint, and they weren't generous scoops. This could be employee specific, but it's the only experience I had. Visit 2 - Apple Turnover. The pastry itself was fine, but the filling is more akin to apple sauce than apple pie. I usually like pastries cold, so eating it that way, the filling had more of a consistency of re-fried beans. Not for me. Visit 3 - Almond Croissant. Holy cow this was the chewiest pastry I've ever eaten. The ends were actually difficult to gnaw through. I'm not sure why I tried... Coffees and other prepared foods might be fine, but those weren't my experiences. And pastries might be fresher or better sometime else, but I went three times and walked away disappointed all three of those and that was enough to decide that this place wasn't for me. This neighborhood isn't short of pastry shops, so I'll try my luck elsewhere. read more

Cutest little coffee shop in the neighborhood! Their cold brew is amazing (and I'm very picky about my cold brew). They also have a variety of pastries, sandwiches and smoothies. I discovered this place using the CUPS app, which every coffee lover in NY should sign up for! The decor is light blue and very calming and they always have good tunes playing. I really wanted to like this place. It's close to my apartment and has an unpretentious vibe. I came by in the afternoon and ordered A decaf Americano. I was charged $3.25 which is a lot for just espresso and water. At that price it should be excellent but instead the drink I got tasted like warm water with some coffee spilled in it. Such a lovely cafe. Brewing the wonderful cafe grumpy, and they make quite a good cup of coffee. Shortbreads of all kinds and pastries including the awesome magpie pop tart.
