"Casita of Brooklyn in Park Slope is a cozy, family-owned coffee shop at 318 11th Street. It is famous for its unique mix of Greek and Latin drinks and snacks, like freddo cappuccinos, café con leche, and homemade spanakopita." I'm always looking for different coffee places and as I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop in. First, the ambience, casita, "little house" perfect description for this cozy space. There are two tables and window seating. Second, for a small space, Casita offers numerous beverage options from cappuccino to semi fredo. There are sweets like, morning roll, Belgian waffle, apple cheddar scone and muffins. The savories are breakfast tacos from King David Tacos*, Greek pastries such as spinach pie. I was in the mood for a breakfast taco and only two were left. I ordered Mom's Migas which is a hand rolled soft taco with eggs, jalapeños, crushed tortilla chips and melted cheddar. There is a choice of red or green salsa. I also ordered a large iced cappuccino with foam. Both items were delicious: the taco was scrumptious but a bit small, the cappuccino was refreshing and loved the foam. Casita sells clothing and other items. I will return when I'm off the beaten path in Park Slope. Shoutout to Meg for the friendly service. I consider Casita my home away from home. Wow love this place. I saw it on Instagram and knew I wanted to try. I was greeted by John, who was clearly an owner by his expertise of customer service. We told him it was our first time and even though there was a line, he was patient to explain everything to us available. They even have King David tacos ! Yum! We had a great croissant and muffin, and the drinks were made with love. The place itself was clean, cute, and charming. We loved the outdoor seating on the calm block of 11th street. Reliable, friendly, and delicious, a true neighborhood spot Casita is one of those places that makes you feel like a regular, even if you're not. The staff are always kind and patient, the service is quick, and they've created a space that feels genuinely welcoming. I stop by here most days for a cold brew or espresso, both are excellent. Their coffee is well-priced, especially for the area, and they offer a solid rewards program (10 drinks = 1 free). Today I grabbed one of their breakfast tacos from King David Tacos, the "Mom's Migas." It was absolutely delicious. The salsa had a good kick, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the flavors were really balanced. It's on the smaller side, and $6 feels a little steep for the size, but the quality makes it worth trying. There's plenty of outdoor seating and a few indoor spots as well. A coffee shop that also serves wine is an automatic win for me! I recently visited Casita of Brooklyn which is a Latin & Greek coffee shop that also serves wine, baked goods and merchandise. It was nice to meet the owners, John & Jenn. As an ode to her father they named the Aviator, a brown sugar cinnamon latte, after him. The Greek pastries like the baklava and the spanakopita are made by John's mom. The also sell King David Tacos. I also got to try the Iced Freddo Cappuccino, Guava and cheese empanada and nice crisp white wine. Delish. Perfect way to start and end your day. Staff was nice and I met a few regulars. This is small business spot. You might spot the owner during the mornings as he gives you an update on the breakfast options! I love the empanadas- cheese is my favorite. The coffee is delicious and their speciality coffees are inventive. I love how the owner and his family are connected to the community. Great new coffee and pastry/light bite shop. The proprietors are of Latin and Greek heritage, so the food options represent a delightful and diverse mix of both. I went with the Greek options, having a delectable and luxurious spinach pie, along with an incredible baklava, which had a perfect hint of clove to balance the sweetness. Cortado was excellent as well. Can't wait to stop back and try the empanadas, or perhaps the homemade muffins made with yogurt. Small space but charming, with a couple of outdoor seats to suit the times. Current hours 7am-3pm, but they are expanding hours to 4pm soon as the weather is warming. Very friendly, welcoming service. They even have a discount if you pay with cash, which is very appealing to my Luddite sensibilities. My experience with Brooklyn coffee shops has been overall great but there's always visits when you get your drink not as delicious as previous times - less vanilla syrup, more oat than espresso .... so forth. I've stopped visiting certain places as frequently because of this BUT... CASITA BK has been consistently amazing since my first visit. Cute shop with friendly service, offering drinks, pastries, and now they have their liquor license. My vanilla latte is perfect both iced or hot! Cafe con Lèche and Aviator were really lovely drinks. On rainy days, their street covered space sports 2 tables and a nice place to stay dry. Everyone needs a favorite local coffee shop, and this is mine. The owners are lovely and always make you feel a tad better walking out than you did coming in. Besides excellent coffee, they have plenty of pastries. The guava and cheese empanada is great, as is the spinach and cheese pastry. I popped in here the other day as I was in the neighborhood and wanted to grab something quick. It's a very cute little coffee shop. They have a few outdoor tables to sit at and when I was there, they had a live jazz band performing which was lovely. The drink menu is not super long, but has all the basics covered. Not an easy espresso drink to make and the espresso was great. Nice and strong with bold flavor but the ratio of milk to espresso was off a bit and I didn't really get that cut that one expects with the milk. Staff was friendly.
