Was desperate to find a place to work from for most of my work day, and was consistently struggling to find a spot in Park Slope that had any room for me at a table, but finally stumbled upon this place and was so grateful I did. Fast internet, friendly staff, great drinks, and tasty croissants! I also really enjoyed the music playlist they had going on a Monday morning. It was a lot of hip hop, R&B, and then eventually phased into rock in the afternoon. Great diverse playlist! They also have a walk up window to order from the outside and even patio seating! Stopped by on a weekday to get some work done. There were still a few seats available when I arrived. I got a maple latte. The coffee was okay. It was a bit sweeter than I would've liked. There are plenty of tables. There's free wifi, and there is a restroom that is clean. Not a lot of outlets though, so if you plan to work on your laptop, make sure it's fully charged before you go. They have a small hole in the wall kinda feel with their stand/cafe entrance. I got a medium iced mocha latte subbed with oat milk this past weekend. It was a dreamy blend of bittersweet and just the right amount of caffeine to kick off the day. This was around noon time and there was no wait at all, but other people lounged around or lined up after us. They donate all their tips to charity, so they're folks who think about the community. They are very open to personalizing and customizing drinks to your tastes too. Something about Brooklyn always brings back nostalgia. Maybe it's because I grew up there but I always enjoy the tingling sensation of being back in good ol' BK. And of course, one of my fav neighborhoods is Carroll Gardens. Last summer, I stumbled upon Postmark Cafe after having brunch with a friend. I'm so glad we ended up going there because their dirty chai oat lattes are DA BOMB DOT COM. Every time I order one, I gingerly hold the cup in my hand. And every cup has all the right notes - rich without being overly sweet; frothy, yet silky smooth at the same time. It's like having all the joys of Christmas in a cup. Who doesn't want that?! Postmark Cafe is a great place to get some work done or catch up with a friend. Maple latte was delicious as was the breakfast sandwich in a croissant! The croissant is flaky and perfectly buttery and eggs are freshly made! The only complaint was I feel like the cheese wasn't melted enough because it wasn't giving that nice stretch when you eat it. All in all tho, I'd come back here! BEST COFFEE SHOP FOR WORK! Fast WiFi, wall outlets for over half of the tables, excellent coffee and pastries are all you need to get your work done. The owners clearly put a lot of attention to details. Coffee and pastries are fresh and very tasty. You won't find much more beyond that except for some water or juice (There's no kitchen) but it's great. If you can't find a seat when you come in, there is an area below for about 12 people, where they have some board games and books in case you want to have some fun with your children. Speaking of children, although I didn't see any during my visit, I did notice that the bathroom has a little station for changing diapers. This speaks volumes of the focus they have on serving their customers and ensuring a pleasant experience. Since I just had breakfast I could only order a MOCHA ($4.75)... Twice though. It was SO GOOD! My buddy ordered the Flat White ($3.25) and he said it was good. We paid $1 USD for bottles of water, which tells me "This is the minimum we could charge!". Top this with an AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE with BIG SMILES and it made it really hard for us to leave the place, but we had to. Great experience overall, definitely will come back! read more

I stumbled upon this place last week when I was taking a stroll after leaving NYP. It's a simple and cozy coffee shop. There were a decent amount of people when I went in around 10:30am. A good example of a quality neighborhood coffee shop is Postmark Cafe, situated in the heart of Park Slope. Like many others it is a tiny place, but packed full of great options in both drinks and ambiance. It is a crowded spot most of the time, so unless one is going in for take out, the actual time spent in the joint will really vary. Coffee wise, their offerings are pretty standard for a cafe. From espressos to lattes, they've got a lot of the basic drinks covered. They've got a number non-coffee options as well such as smoothies, hot chocolate, and teas. There is also some limited food like croissants, bagels, baked goods, as well as sandwiches such as grilled cheeses and egg and cheese. They have done a good job in maximizing the space for all sorts of situations. While I'd never recommend for a group outing to this spot, they do have a communal table that can fit up to 6 at a time. Coffee dates and casual meetings aside, I'd reserve this spot for a solo journey and perhaps some quiet time for work. The WiFi is decently fast, but nothing mind blowing here. Decor wise, it is a mix of homey and hipster'y (#1) but comfortable enough to enjoy a casual caffeinated drink. There are a decent number of outlets throughout the place (along the wall, on the legs of the tables) and even outdoor seating to boot. The ventilation is a bit of a challenge with a lack of AC, but they do have ceiling fans and standing fans to get the air flowing. I give the service a thumbs up and the prices are standard for the area. One thing that I appreciate that they do is they donate tips to different non-profit organizations every month. A solid choice for an iced coffee, and I place I think will only get better once you can sit down inside again and enjoy your beverage as you read or do some work. Quality: Being new to the area, Postmark Cafe was recommended as a top coffee shop, and after a couple visits it is easy to understand why. The combination of friendly staff and delicious drinks is exactly what you hope for. While I was not crazy about the Latte I tried, the Iced Coffee, my standard, is fantastic. Rich, flavorful, and something I will continue to order even when it is below freezing. They also have some food items, but that will have to wait until we can return inside, sit down and truly enjoy the shop. Quantity: Standard size cups for both hot and cold drinks. Value: $4.00 for a large Iced Coffee. $5.00 for a large Latte. Ambiance: Postmark Cafe is located on the border of Park Slope and Gowanus in Brooklyn. As a result of COVID, they are operating out of a window, but from peering inside, it seems like a cozy space awaits the reopening of indoor dining. They did set up a quaint little outdoor area, which will be nice when the weather warms up, but for now it really is about grab and go. Crowd: Too cold for folks to hang out, but each visit I have a found a small line waiting for coffee. Service: Extremely friendly staff, who truly care about their customers and the neighborhood. The aesthetics and the atmosphere were really great and inviting. They even had outdoor seating and a downstairs area. It really felt like a home and the service was friendly and warm. Great space to chill, work from your laptop or go on a first date. I ordered an iced maple latte with almond milk and light on the ice. It was delicious and reasonably priced. This is probably my favorite cafe in Brooklyn, and also appreciate it for nostalgia since I used to go to the middle school nearby (ages ago!). I come here frequently throughout my school semester, staying for long periods of time doing schoolwork on my laptop. It does get busy for about half an hour periods when the middle school kids come for lunch or after school, but it's not that rowdy and I manage to focus on work nonetheless. The Internet is great and there are outlets around (took me awhile to realize they're on the legs of the table). I always come here for the ice maple lattes, they taste DELISH and I never really find maple lattes made elsewhere. The pesto sandwich is also very good, isn't too expensive, and fills me up despite how small it looks. If you are in the area, definitely stop by! read more

A great place I've infrequently frequented over the 20 years I've lived in Park Slope. I was just asking if they still had the piano downstairs but they didn't know anything about it. I'm sure it's been gone at least ten years. Anyway the coffee is good and the atmosphere is incredible with the door and windows open. And Spotify set on Jazz singers makes me not want to leave. It's a funky basement type coffee shop that doesn't prioritize excellent beans or barista skills. The cappuccinos are mostly milk. The staff is nice but the service is slovenly. Oddly all the bright colors don't help the somewhat depressing vibe of the place. Lots of folks call it homey but it just kind of seems dirty to me. The outdoor seating is a highlight.
