Loove this neighborhood coffee shop! Been here a couple times, the first to pick up a Too Good To Go bag which had such great variety - bagels, pastries, etc. I was so happy with it but haven't been able to catch another time to do it again. I returned today because I was craving a cookie and got the s'mores one ($3.75) with a decaf americano ($4.25). No extra charge for oat milk and everything was so good! This is such a cute little coffee shop! I've only been coming here to grab my coffee and go but so far every experience has been pleasant. The baristas are always friendly and helpful. I've only had their cappuccinos and they've never disappointed. I'm on my way to get another one right now haha. Highly recommend if you want a good coffee. I retract my previous reviews! The current barista makes excellent espresso coffees. I prefer the espresso here to what they use at Steeplechase, although everything here is slightly more expensive. But that's balanced out by the lack of card minimum, yay! They also take cash. I stand by what I wrote about $4.25 being a ridiculous price for just espresso; it does not make sense that a cappuccino is only 50c more, either in terms of ingredients or labor. I love the outdoor seating area they added during the pandemic, and they still require masks while you're ordering even though they've reopened indoor seating. Gender neutral restroom in the back. Delicious selection of Colson pastries and some unusual items I haven't thought about in years like animal crackers and cracker jacks. Free snack for your dog :) read more

Just randomly noticed this coffee shop on yelp last night. When did this arrive?!? I was so excited I was there at 8am Sunday morning. (Thanks Daylight savings time.) I felt SO welcome. The barista was kind and offered recommendations. I didn't feel like I was a bother or interrupting something. It was very pleasant. I ordered a latte and a blueberry and lemon scone. (Her favorite) and now mine. It was so delicious and flavorful. Normally I eat scones and I'm like eh. Good. Moving on. This scone- I will need to repeat over and over again. Delicious. Intimate space, but welcoming enough to feel comfortable. I was alone and would have preferred not to take up a table, but unfortunately one lady on a lap top took up all four "bar" seats at the window. (Yikes. Maybe this is what drove Steeplechase to act CraY about laptops lol) It wasn't busy enough to be problematic though- all good for a lazy Sunday morning. Laptop/cell phone plugs scattered around and located in clever and convenient places. I am SO happy this area has another coffee shop. Yippppppee. Welcome, welcome! read more

Hmmm. I was very excited to have something in this area other than Steeplechase, which seems a bit pretentious and doesn't take credit cards. I think Windsor Coffee may still be hitting its stride. Perhaps it's my mistake for ordering off menu, although it was just a flat white, nothing bizarre, and the barista said it as no problem. The foam was really airy and there was way too much of it. Definitely more of a cappuccino, so I'm wondering if they'd do a latte better, or if it's one of the places that makes all milk foam drinks the same. I'll try it again, but only so many times. Whatever else one might say about steeplechase, they make drinks with appropriate proportions. Oh, and I think my flat white may have been made with skim milk because t tasted pretty watery. I wasn't asked about milk type, which I generally assume means they're using whole, so I may need to ask next time. The WiFi didn't work. read more

Updating my review like I said I would. I've revisited a couple of times since my last visit and their coffee is consistently good (both hot and iced), their pastries are delicious and a perfect afternoon treat and the service is so friendly and warm. You can tell these people genuinely care about creating a space and community in the neighborhood. I love the coffee here! I am very picky about the iced lattes I drink in the summer. I'm so happy I found Windsor Coffee as both baristas make the most amazing lattes. The expresso is perfectly smooth (I find most coffee places the expresso is bitter). There is always the right amount of ice and milk and I'm never disappointed. Both baristas are attentive to my coffee needs eg. extra ice, less milk. As a bonus I usually don't hang out in coffee places but the atmosphere at Windsor Coffee is so perfect I find myself wanting to hangout. I highly recommend this place! P.S. A wonderful place to work remotely from. Though not as large as other coffee shops in the area it has its own charm and has fantastic service. In general I don't go to coffee shops anymore except except to get out of my house to work/code. Windsor Coffee has some nice comfy seats with pillows to sit at for long hours. Unfortunately since the place is small you're not guaranteed a seat at these nicer spots but may have to suffer the window ones. Once you do plant yourself down in a good spot this place is wonderful though. The food and coffee here are pretty good. I don't think there is a huge variety in the baked goods but what they do have is good stuff. They have both savory and sweet scones which is fantastic enough for me. As for the coffee it is brewed well and they have a good variety of types. I think where Windsor Coffee shines the most is with its service. The people who work here are super nice and are great conversationalists. Last I was here I chatted with the lone employee and we played some music I suggested near closing hours. Overall its a more personal coffee shop in my opinion then others in the area. Overall, fantastic place for both relaxing and working at. Try to snipe the comfy seats if possible for the best experience. read more

Finally, a coffee chop to challenge the neighborhood monopoly held by Steeplechase! Loved the vibe from the moment I walked in. I was greeted warmly by the barista within seconds of walking in. I appreciate that they brew Oslo Coffee-smaller local roaster. It's well priced and tastes great! Their iced coffee is wonderful. They serve a variety of baked good which I have yet to try but look great. Free wifi is almost standard in cafes but they have it as well. They take cash and cards! The best part of my experience was having a short conversation with the owner who is an energetic, warm retired man who is clearly interested in providing customers with a wonderful experience and cool place to hang. The coffee here, for the price, is not that exciting. The espresso is either too burnt, watery, or just disgustingly sour. The way they prepare the coffee is poor. Doing sneaky things to avoid doing work like not offer to brew a fresh pot of coffee and let someone wait but instead downsize someone's large coffee to a small coffee is just irrational to me. The man who works there, who I ASSUME is the owner or the manager, whose to say, is just not very friendly or polite. We all have those days, I understand. But if I feel intimidated just asking simple questions about what's being offered, I'm not sure it's just on my end where the trouble begins. I don't feel as though I can walk in and have a positive interaction, even when trying to be as polite, straightforward, and attentive as I can be. Oh man I so wanted to like this place! It is so cute, the coffee tastes really good but for a two shot latte didn't taste as strong as it should have? So, my next time in I asked for an extra shot and actually watched them make it. For my "extra" shot the barista ran through the same espresso she had ran for my first "two" shots which could very well just be one shot. I should have said something to the girl (especially since I'm paying an extra $2 or $3 for the pretend extra shot) but if she wasn't trained properly its not her fault and I didn't want to be that coffee snob and ask her to remake it. If you want to have a good coffee shop, the coffee needs to be done right. Especially when there is a place right next door or I could just make american coffee at home. So I really like that there's a new option in the neighborhood, however, my boyfriend and I recently stopped by for a shot of espresso each and noticed they charge $4 rather than $2.50 or $2.75. I then noticed that their latte (iced) was $4.50. I've been to many coffee shops around the city and have never seen such a price difference.
