I got a matcha latte unsweetened thinking it was like a matcha from DD where the matcha is already sweet. It was plain but I fixed it with 2 splendas. So if you like semi-sweet like me, let the barista add sweetner. My husband got a caramel latte, very nice & you can taste the espresso. I ordered banana french toast & my husband got avocado toast. There are a few Coffee RX locations around, and they're all very good with the coffee. I like this particular one because of the strong wifi, lots of seating, and friendly staff. You can tell they have regulars and they make conversation with them. Maybe it slows down the queue just a tad but I like the neighborhood vibe this place has. read more

This is a 5***** breakfast. Coffee is delicious! So many different options but I choose my favorite with oat milk. Omelet is big and extremely fresh. My daughter enjoyed her Tropical smoothie and BEC sandwich. 100% recommended. Will be back for a new tastes. read more

The lady who helped us earlier was super friendly. We were greeted right away and offered help on getting a beverage. Sadly, they were all out of cold brew!! So we placed an order of a regular iced coffee with milk and a Nutella latter with almond milk. The total was around $15 for 2 large drinks so it's pricey! They have many options for food in this location. Definitely, want to try to eat indoors soon They have restrooms as well. Spacious coffee shop with a good and simple ambience. There is outdoor seating too. The Wi-Fi is reliable and the Wi-Fi password is found at the counter. Large selection of foods, smoothie and different types of coffee. There are different types of delicious Lattes too! The coffee is great and strong. I ordered the California Omelette and it was worth the $12: there was a generous amount of egg, avocado, bacon, salad with dressing provided on the side and 2 slices of toast where you can choose which type of bread. The staff was courteous and I sat there studying for about 4 hours. It is a nice place to get work done if you don't want to stay home. The decor is cute too, I can't help but take a few photos. Highly recommend this wonderful place! Update 5/17/23: Had the Saving Grace sandwich and the Iron Berry Smoothie. Highly recommend these 2 items. Saving Grace sandwich has turkey, some vegetables and this really yummy dressing with provolone cheese (I think) in it. Iron berry has strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, spinach, almond milk in it. Quick service, and pretty good coffee. They give you a discount for cash. I noticed they used normal silk almond milk, instead of a barista blend, so the latte wasn't as creamy as I would have liked but also not as watery as some places. The beans have a best by date, and not a roasted on date, so I didn't want to buy a bag. read more

Came to this cafe after my morning walk at the park. Wanted something cold and decided on the popular Nutella Monster. It's not just an iced mocha Latte, it's that extra flavor of Nutella that makes the drink extra tasty. Barista was pretty stoned face throughout the whole transaction, but as long as I get my drink; it's all good. Shop is quiet with a small seating area. Major kudos to this place for being the only cafe in this neighborhood (I don't think Dunkin Donuts should really count) and for nailing it right. The menu has a large assortment of drinks and foods, from sandwiches--I've had the Saving Grace twice, and it's amazing--to waffles. The matcha latte is also good! Coffee Rx has a cooler for you to get constant refills of water. Tips: - It's not on the menu, but you can substitute the chips for a salad option (spinach). - Was packed even at noon on Friday. - Kitchen was closed when I tried to go 6:15 pm on a Sunday to get one of their sandwiches. Some suggestions: - Make the dryer in the bathroom less strong/loud. - Add some pads to the chair legs so that they don't scrape loudly on the floor when people move their chairs. - Add more outlets (at least so that each table gets one). read more

I live about two miles away from this Coffee RX location, and I come because it's the best coffee shop in the Bensonhurst/Dyker Heights neighborhood. I went to the Bay Ridge location when I lived in Sunset Park (also 1-ish mile away from where I used to live). I love their lattes and their toasts, and am a huge fan of their coffee beans . I love buying their beans to grind + make at home. I don't know where they get their beans, but it's crack! I always buy a bag for my friend in LA whenever I visit bc it's that good. Today, I specifically went to pick up a bag of beans, as I am running low on La Colombe beans. I got a cup of pumpkin spice latte with the purchase of the beans (huge perk!!!!!!). I also got hungry as I was sipping on that psl, so I got a nutella banana toast. So yum! As I was eating the toast, the barista (a Latina) asked if I wanted water. That made my day! I never experienced this type of service at a coffee shop. This is restaurant quality service! For all the times I've been here, I've never gotten this type of service, so I feel touched. Can't believe I'm writing this review but this used to be my go to spot for coffee. The review is for this location only, I'll be sticking to the locations in Bay Ridge. Overpriced for what it is. A large ice rose latte with Oatmilk is now almost $10? The quality actually went down since the pandemic. On top of that, the staffs here are very rude with horrible attitude. I asked for a large iced Rose Latte with Oatmilk but she had a hard time understanding my order, which I didn't mind repeating. Then she kept asking if I want an extra shot or extra milk, I told her however they usually make it. But she got impatient and just repeated her question, I opted for extra shot and asked if that would be extra and she said, "yes". So I asked her again if she can just make it standard, how they normally make the lattes because that's what I liked. Another staff came over and gave me an attitude and I explained that I normally don't get asked this question when I order, I like it the way they made the latte. She walked away without listening to me and told the first staff extra shot. When I proceed to pay for the drink, I tapped my card but the staff walked away and when she came back she told me to pay, I explained I tapped my card (of course she didn't see it cuz she walked away) so I tapped it again and she stood there with an impatient look (mind you, their machine was not accepting the payment, I kept tapping til it went through). They have lost a loyal customer that brought them extra customers too. read more

A great neighborhood coffee shop that brightens the area like a lighthouse in a sea of Dunkin Donuts. I dont drink coffee too often, but the s.o. comes here often and always tells me how friendly the baristas are. They've put as much seating and tables as possible, and yet it's often packed with students studying. On a rainy day, we decided to sit down and play a chill board game. I tried their latte and lavender latte, both served with intricately prepared latte art in their house mugs. I asked for the drinks to be less sweet and the workers kindly obliged. I was pleasantly surprised when I sipped the lavender latte and felt that the latte actually had real lavender bits! Therefore, you already know that they are not using some cheap lavender flavored syrup and they're using high quality ingredients. My favorite thing about CoffeeRX is the study-friendly atmosphere: no rowdy groups to distract you from your work! This is probably due to the location being less accessible by train, but there is a bus stop right outside so no worries there! read more

This is the closest best study spot for me. There are rarely any good cafes for doing work in lower Brooklyn. I always get their bumble bee latte. They say it's a latte with honey but it's really good. I get different things to eat when I'm there. I've gotten the eat your veggies omelete which was filling. Ive gotten the Oliver twist. I like how they used mozzarella in the sandwich. I recently tried the berries & creme french toast. This was the best so far! Very good and filling. They packed the berries and give you a cup of their whipped cream. The french toast is cooked with egg so it's not like they just reheated it for you. Would give zero stars if I could. Never usually leave bad reviews unless well-deserved. Rude staff. I asked my coffee certain way I always drink and in the end received total opposite. When asked to fix it I was talked most probably all kind of curses in Chinese with looks at me. Both of girls don't seem to understand English much. Next time I went there my friend had a dog and we both settled at the table before ordering. (not many options in the area so we had to stop here). After we paid and got drinks the older Asian lady said the dog has to go outside and not allowed. Even though they clearly saw us planning to stay and saw the dog. Found this place near me on Yelp and decided to give it a try today. This place gave me a really nice first impression; it was quiet filled with mainly fi people on their laptops giving me the idea of an ideal study spot. Their food tastes amazing and their smoothies are just as good. I got me a "Eat Your Vegetables Omelette" along with the Berrylicious Smoothie and the Sweet Blush Smoothie. I'm truly 50/50 about Coffee RX. Let's start with the good: -great spot to study or get some work done -spacious with lots of seats (can probably even accommodate more seating if they rearranged their layout a bit) -free decent WiFi -menu consists of reasonably priced food and drinks -large and relatively clean bathroom -music is calming and at just the right volume -- not distracting at all -staff is friendly -no credit card minimum!!!!!!!!!! The bad: -the hot coffee is pretty acidic and usually leaves me with a stomachache (I'm a huge coffee drinker and I almost never have this issue). The cold brew is a little better, but I'm still not a big fan. Apart from the coffee, I've tried some lattes and felt they were just okay. -the temperature IN the shop is always fluctuating. One day it's extremely hot and stuffy and the next it's freezing (occurs across ALL seasons). It makes it really hard to focus. Is regulating the temperature inside too much to ask for? As noted, there's a bunch of great things about Coffee RX, but as a coffee shop, I'm going to judge you most on the quality of your coffee. I frequent pretty often because it is one of the few coffee shops in the area I can actually get some work done at and I'm probably going to continue visiting, but I'm going to need you to make a better cuppa Joe. read more

I've been to Coffee RX a couple of times but I never had the opportunity to try any of their food. Prior to today I've just had the Rose Latte (which was really good). Today, I placed an order for pickup and got an order of the boneless chicken and an Iced Maple Bourbon latte. The Maple Bourbon latte was *really* good, the flavor was rich and not too sweet although I will say it's a bit pricier than most coffees I've had. I probably won't get it again unless I really wanted to splurge again. The Korean style chicken was delicious! This is probably my third time coming to the cafe and honestly I'd give them a 3.5/5 because their drinks are decent but on the pricey side if you order something "special" (around $7). The quality of the food was honestly not that great. I paid $8 for a turkey sandwich which had slightly over-toasted bread with mozzarella and turkey and a side of chips. I read the paper menu they had by the cashier and it said that the sandwich included spinach but when i received my order there wasn't any...turned out that the menu was wrong (i think they fixed it but just in case, trust the blackboard). The staff offered to put spinach in but by then I had already taken a bite...of paper? The cheese still had paper stuck to it (lol) and the sandwich was so salty. I placed the paper on the side of plate instead of complaining a second time because I was honestly too hungry at that point (see picture attached to review). I think the staff noticed how badly they messed up my sandwich so they tried to compensate by giving me a card for a free drink on my next visit. At the start of my visit I ordered an iced oat milk latte which came out to about $6 which means that the milk costs $1.25?? Kind of confused me there, maybe it was because I told them that the drink was to stay not to go. In terms of taste the drinks aren't too bad; they're pretty decent for a local cafe, but the prices are a little absurd, more $$ than $... especially for the food that they serve. It's a great place to sit down and work on your laptop or just to study; it can get a bit loud at times but usually it's quiet enough. And they play some catchy throwback music if you're into pop like me. (I'm not sure if the thermostat is broken or not, but if you plan to stay for more than just a quick chat in the winter, you might want to bring a blanket or leave your heavy down jacket on while you work.)The ambience is somewhat chill and the space is kind of big (you wouldn't expect it just by looking at the storefront). They're barking at each other not realizing how loud they are screaming at each other. I'm in the midst of a factory and assembly line! Then one eats constantly while making drinks. I have been to the Bay Ridge location a few times and it is decent. This new location is a lot closer to home. I came here on a Sunday afternoon, usually a fringe hour, when they first opened and ordered a latte that was average. I wanted to return after they got past their learning curve as a grand opening before I gave them an official rating. The second time was a vast improvement. The latte art was spot on. The texture was almost perfect. It was smooth throughout. It would have been perfect if it was a little thicker. The temperature was lukewarm. A little hotter would have been better. Regardless, it is a quality specialty coffee shop and I look forward to how the baristas and shop progresses with time. read more

Worker with glasses is so rude to customers. They're understaffed, wait times are long. A worker makes one cup of coffee at a time, and until that cup is done- the next customer's order isn't taken. Wait times is about 15-20mins and the line is to the door each morning. I can tolerate the wait time, but not rude customer service- Chinese woman with glasses grouchy, curt, and coarse.
