I liked the little tables in the back. Nice ambiance. Good selection of teas and pastries. The place smells amazing because apparently they also take custom orders for cakes and the place is full of this amazing fresh-out-of-the-oven smell! The girls who work here seemed very nice and I get the feeling they're not from Kansas...They were very nice about allowing us to stay here without buying too much but we kept the tea going anyhow. read more

Breakfasts are so delicious here, and so cheap! The portion was huge, i could barely finish. The sausage and potatoes were super crispy and the side salad was well-dressed. Love the hazelnut iced coffee too. Will come back to try more items! read more

Really good brunch spot right on sheepshead bay. Last time we walked in, got seated immediately and order taken within a few minutes. I ordered the Kharcho soup, a tomato based broth with chunks of tender lamb and lots of fresh herbs. My friend ordered the chicken stroganoff with mashed potatoes, and we got potato pelmeni to share. I got my usual cappuccino but this time with a shot of amaretti flavor, and it was the perfect accompaniment to my lunch. Food came out relatively fast, and all of it was piping hot. I took some potato pelmeni to go as the portion size was quite generous; soft fluffy potatoes wrapped in a thin dough and smothered in fried onions. Overall very cute spot, definitely worth checking out their specials and prices are more than reasonable read more

I was in the mood for a coffee, then also desired something sweet like a danish. I saw Coffee Spot Café across the road and decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I noticed the decor had a classic look about it and many vintage items. The staff is friendly, efficient and helpful in the service of their valued customers. I ended up getting a bowl of chicken meatball soup, danish and a chocolate raspberry coffee. Every thing was delicious with a made from scratch flavor. I enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely return again. If in Brooklyn near the Sheepshead Street are, stop in and give them a try. read more

The worst coffee I ever had in Brooklyn. It was a long wait, the girl didn't even know what she's making, and keep asking her coworkers. I understand everyone needs time to be professional, I trusted her. but that iced latte is the worst coffee I ever had. I throw it away after one sip. read more

The food is disgusting. I ordered kharcho soup, there was absolutely no meat in it. I ordered a pork chop that was as wide as a sheet of paper and all in burnt oil. I ordered pancakes with chicken, once they were ok, and the second time they were very burnt. Service is also terrible. And the owner was sitting in the hall and he was ok with all this. This place has super cute decor. So I stopped in to have some soup. Ordered the chicken noodle soup and a Kompote to drink. The kompote had no fruit flavor; more like colored sugar water. The soup took a long time to bring out. I thought it was because trey were microwaving it. Maybe, but that's not the worst part. The "chicken soup" is really a powered yellow broth with boiled noodles and dill sprinkled on top. No chicken, no vegetables, no resemblance of chicken soup. It was served with 2 slices of dry brown bread. I felt deceived.Wont be back read more

I will give this a high rating because of the cozy atmosphere and ability to get some work done without issues. Cappuccino was on point. Did not really try food. The servers are busy yet polite. Always clean. Quite a trendy and busy spot. Wish it was open late. read more

Recently, I visited the place with friend and we were very pleased. Coffee is actually really good, huge variety of fresh and tasty desserts. Also, there is food menu with brunch treats such as eggs Benedict and others. If you are in the area, this is your local "go to" place for coffee/ snack fix. read more

I stop by here every morning for a coffee. Its a very cozy cafe that also serves breakfast options like egg & cheese sandwiches and well as the usual muffins and croissants. It was another warm day today, so I opted for a tall iced coffee with a shot of almond flavoring. Definitely stop by here if you're ever in this part of Brooklyn. read more

I absolutely love the coffee here but none of the workers wear masks. They were never the friendliest but that's fine as long as the service was okay. Now, with a pandemic, they should be taking precautions. They don't take temperature. There's a sign saying wear masks but I see many Russian patrons not abiding. Good coffee and tea, excellent breakfast choices and great pastries. Very good to pick up coffee and a pastry on the way to the train or to have breakfast on the weekend. The mushroom barely soup is the best in Brooklyn if you ask me. They always have a great selection of fresh homemade soups. Their wraps have the freshest ingredients and very delicious. I used to love this place a lot. Me and my friend used to order their soups, sandwiches and bakery stuff all the time! I even had to go to the atm because this place accepts ONLY CASH. One day we ordered soup and the person who took an order was the owner. While we were waiting, the other girl(she didn't know we were served) simply asked us if we need help. When the owner heard that and he started yelling at my friend with such an attitude like "I TOLD YOU TO WAIT". WTH?! Honestly I'm disgusted and disappointed that the person who runs this place doesn't know how to treat customers. I also noticed that they hire new people all the time. But whatever because their staff as rude as the owner. Ok so bottom line : food is really good but IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO GIVE US AN ATTITUDE BECAUSE HEY WE PAY YOUR BILLS. read more

I'm just reviewing the coffee because it was the only thing I ordered here. Service was really good. The staff is professional, courteous, and friendly. The restaurant is clean but small and quaint. 0 STARS!! Rotten, racist people who work here. I would never come here again no matter how good their coffee & food is. There were some pastries on display that I've never seen before, so I asked them. I couldn't believe my ears, with each of food that they desperately did not want to name, these vile girls decide to give me the eye roll. I might have lost my bananas if it wasn't for me having a great day. But I did lose my bananas 2 minutes later. A lady who spoke with a heavy accent ordered coffee. Already the girls behind the counter started laughing & talking in their own language while looking back at the lady. Clearly, they were talking about her. The lady asked for a coffee tray in ENGLISH but the girl couldn't understand her. I kindly asked if I can help the lady to translate clearer. The girl said, "WE DONT SPEAK CHINESE HERE". I was so appalled I started arguing with her. It was the most inappropriate thing I've ever heard come out of someone who deals with customers on a daily basis. So screw your coffee, screw your food, even if this was the last restaurant on this earth, I would never step foot in this place again. If you decide to come here & you happened to not be like them, don't be surprised if you get the same treatment as we did. You have been fairly warned. read more

You know, it is places like these that make me appreciate and notice my old hood of Sheapshead bay. It is a lovely spot. Looks busy enough to earn regular patrons. But not too crowded that you can enjoy some peace and quiet, either by the front store window (particularly if you, like me, enjoy people watching), or in the back tables for a more intimate or private conversation, business deal or some email catch-up. Too bad they close early (around 6pm?). Would love to spend a quiet evening here over coffee and a book (ok, not book but kindle - the reading part still counts). read more

I stopped buying coffee here a long time ago, ever since there is a much better self-service turkish coffee at the shop across from the train station with a much friendlier staff. I limited my visits to Coffee Spot only for eggs & home-fries breakfast pickups. Often times they screw up the order and I would look the other way, but today I lost my patience. Sigh. The eggs were so burned they were inedible. I threw it all out. Why would you serve your customer such burned food? It costs pennies to re-make 2 eggs, and maybe 5-min of time. Major fail... won't be coming back anymore. read more

I have never had a bad experience here. I would say my only qualm is the staff is a little rigid and it wouldn't kill them to smile or be a little more hospitable but I think that's cultural. Otherwise the food is always fresh and delish! The shnitzel is always amazing! read more

I'm tired of this place. None of the servers speak English. I mean you are setting up shop in Sheepshead Bay, not old Ukraine. Why can't I order my morning goodies without being met with a look of absolute confusion. I'm sorry but you are running a business and way before you moved into these parts, this was my old neighborhood where everyone knew everyone. I respect change, however, new business owners should also be humble and cognizant of their surroundings. I mean isn't that the whole premise of business. Know your customer. After all it's their wallets that's bringing you your income. Any business owner that doesn't understand that in my opinion is foolish. I get their silly thinking. There's a certain demographic that's frequenting your establishment and you feel like that's who you must cater to. Wrong answer! A lot of the old neighborhood is still left and reflect a significant population here in Sheepshead Bay. So don't be foolish, man! Back in the day you went to the morning bakery, ordered your cheese danish and morning coffee without complication. It feels as though they are only cordial to their own kind. If you come in and speak English, they are very short and seem to lack patience if you ask about their treats featured in the glass. I asked this morning what a particular goodie was and I got Beezgotty as she looks at me like a fool. Bear in mind... this was resembling a flat sheet cake. No sweety, it's Biscotti!!!! I'm not that person that pokes fun if someone pronounces something wrong. However the arrogance on these people is amazing and uhh I just cant‍ Those of you that know me know I might tolerate this if the product was amazing! Their stuff is just okay and there's not much competition here. Today I got a semi raw blueberry muffin! Not cool! read more

Delicious breakfast spot with super fast service, chef is very friendly and makes sure everyone enjoys the meal

Didn't have a great experience here. Came in ordering two egg and cheese sandwiches, one with bacon, one without, the girl taking my order misunderstood me and after she placed the order in the back and I corrected her she reprimanded me for the misunderstanding blaming me for the mistake. I get home with my orders and neither one of them have cheese.. so even when I tried to make sure they got my order right, they still got it wrong. I'll keep my business at bagel boy around the block, the lines there are longer but the guys behind the counter tend to get the order right the first time around. read more

Very disappointed. Have been a loyal customer for a while. But I guess Russian places just can't provide a normal service. On top of mixing up orders a few times, they often overcharge. I've been ordering the same thing for 2 weeks - not once it was the same price. Today they just crossed the line, I overpaid like 5$ but kz of the heat I realized it 10min later.. That's not ethical. you don't treat customers like that. And I on top of that I got an empty omelet instead of the vegetable cheese the one that I ordered.. O_o Agh.. read more

The coffee shop at first looks cute but then you notice it's dirty and messy. The shelf in the container that holds the pastries is very dirty and looks like it has collected dirt from the past years. You see it on the left side immediately when you first walk in. On the right is a display of cards/ advertisements and it's all very cluttered. Baristas have an unfriendly vibe. They are wearing their face masks under their chins. When I went to pay for my drink they said they only take cash so I wasn't able to take it because I only had card. I think it all worked out for the best because the place was so dirty I was probably saved from having a stomach ache. read more

I am a regular here. Love it for many reasons. 1. Breakfast!!! Egg and cheese croissant is my fave. 2. Baked goods! Apple cranberry pie is to die for. Others are just as delicious. 3. Soups: one word: delicious, especially the cold ones Try the green spinach borscht (cold), also okroshka (my faves) From the hot ones, I love the split pea and the mushroom barley The conventional Russian borscht (red beet soup) is a must, of course. 4. Coffee/cappuccino 5. Potato ravioli Russian style The service is great too. Friendly, helpful, and fast. (They give you sour cream and delicious Russian bread to go with your soup). Overall, this food at Coffee Spot has great home-cooked type feel and it is always fresh. I highly recommend this place. A neighborhood jem! Thank you, Coffee Spot, for many delicious items! read more

Been going here for over two years now and I love their pastries, however their coffee is always a hit or miss. My biggest issue with this place is that no one, literally not a single staff member wears a mask. They keep it on their chin which is ridiculous cause there's little to no ventilation in the cafe and they're breathing down on the drinks and food. The place was one of my favorites but I literally feel like covid is breathing down my shoulder whenever I attempt to step inside. Also, they have a sign outside that reads "wear a mask" and they literally let anyone in, maybe 1 out of the 5-10 people who are on line there are wearing a mask. It's so upsetting. I loved this place and still do but I'm not going back until they start abiding by the safety regulations. read more

As great as this place is with the food/drinks, please be very aware that the customer service here is absolutely disgusting. I only continued coming all these years because it's got really good food so I guess that's why they don't care how bad the service is because they know people will always flock no matter how they're being treated. I gotta finally leave a review because it's reached a point where I will not be coming back here. Currently 8 months expecting, it's the heat of summer, ordered 2 coffees & guess what? I waited 25 min & just left. All the staff see the pregnant lady waiting & nothing even though I asked the status of my order & was ignored. Regardless of my current state of stomach, still a gross disservice to any customer. But again, this place will never change so it's up to customers to risk being treated like crap over a good brownie. read more

Best coffee on this side of Brooklyn I have never tried anything here but the various coffee, so can't speak on anything else, but that's all I want went I come here. The lattes, iced coffees, cappuccinos, are all delicious The interior is nice and cozy and has the feel of a real local coffee spot, which is rare for Sheepshead. Place is cash only, which is the only downside for me. read more

Always tasty coffee and amazing homemade pastry! Service is nice too. Highly recommend.

So, I've had different experiences at the coffee spot that is why I waited to write my review! Overall, I Love the place! The food is great!! And I mean like everything (!!!) home made pastries, soups, bagels, etc... But also, I can see why some people might not have the best experience here. 1. It's so so small and gets crowded at times!! So, I guess it depends what time you come here, but during lunch hours, the place gets extremely busy and you might spend a lot of time in line and there are barely any places to sit. 2. I am Russian, so to me the service and baristas seem normal and not rude, however I can understand why American people can take it the wrong way. 3. Cash only! So, make sure to stop by an atm to get some dollar bills!!:) Overall, the food is worth it! So everyone should check it out!!:) just don't forget cash and a good attitude ;-) read more
