    Lychee Jasmine Bubble Tea
    Lina F.

I stopped by this morning for boba and it was amazing! Service was excellent and friendly - the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I did see someone working remotely there so there is WiFi. There are a few small tables to sit at but it is a cozy atmosphere. Very brooklynite decor!

A small cafe providing coffee and boba to the surrounding neighborhood. Ample space to sit inside if you choose to. Ordered a jasmine milk tea with boba. Jasmine was a bit more subtle than I would've liked, but the small bit of fragrance to it was nice. The boba was chewy and sweetened so having the drink less sweet was perfect. A friendly neighborhood spot on par with chain milk tea places.

Iced Americano and Iced Turmeric Latte
    Heidi M.

Was in the area this weekend when my bf was looking for some coffee. We stumbled upon this spot, where he got an iced americano w/ oat milk and I got an iced turmeric latte w/ almond milk. I really wanted to love this spot (since I believe it's Asian owned) and my drink, but I have to say my iced turmeric just tasted like ...milk. I know turmeric is usually pretty subtle, but the drink was super bland. Wouldn't recommend, especially for $7. Perhaps it's better as a hot drink? Bf's americano was good, standard coffee. Also interesting that the oat milk cost 40 cents while the almond was $1. We did notice the Asian buns as other reviewers had mentioned and they looked really good - didn't get to try them this time around. The cafe was pretty quiet, as we sat for a little to drink. Turmeric drink aside, would love a bakery like this closer to our neighborhood.

    best chocolate chip cookie ever!

They make the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. It has an incredible balance of everything that makes a great cookie. The edges are crispy. The perfect amount of chocolate that's gooey. It's hearty. Not overly sweet.

This place might just have the best Thai milk tea boba I've ever had!! I only wish they were open on the weekends--I live right around the corner and would come all the time.

Ok, correction, 5 stars. I love this place. 2 important pieces for me: great americano using quality beans, and well-balanced, aromatic, chai latte. New exciting drinks. & Also, a talented barista! She has technique down, and has a signature latte art heart that matches the cute teaspoon with a heart on it. La Colombe coffee. The barista was legit. Had a nice americano and then tried a non caffeinated pea latte. It was blue, creamy, and earthy tasting. Would like to try the turmeric latte (also non caffeinated) and possibly a bun or hot dog filled bun if I were in the mood. Cute dainty spoons, with hearts on them.

Is it pricey? Heck yea. Is it worth it? Every penny. I have tried almost every coffee place in close proximity to Bread and Joe, and nothing beats them. There mocha iced coffee is ahhhmazing! The staff is always so friendly and kind. They serve the most outstadning baked items that it just blows my mind how fresh there selection is. They bake 99% of the stuff showcased. You must try anything with the bread they bake in house, and the chocolate chip cookies are just out of this world. The coffee is strong and the food is tasty. They have a card that after a certain amount of visits you get a free coffee. I did not like the matcha donuts but mostly becuase they were a bit too bitter for me. If you love matcha that is your donut. TIP: They sell out quick of the ham and egg in the morning. Cons: They charge an extra 75 cents for soy or almond milk instead of regualr milk, so a iced mocha will be almost 6 dollars with almond milk.

Chocolate croissant and iced dirty chai latte

Cute hole in the wall with about 3 tables and seating along the window. I got an iced dirty chai which was pretty good, but I couldn't really taste the espresso. I also got nice, light and flaky chocolate croissant. I really wanted to try their matcha donuts but they were out. Next time! Four stars bc I called yesterday to see if they were open since the 3 times I've tried to visit this place they've always closed 10-15 minutes before their closing hours (M-F 6:30-5pm, Sat 8-4pm, and Sun closed). Worth a stop if you're in the area!

Cute little bakery steps away from the R train. Suitable for small groups as they have tables seating parties of two. I'd say maximum occupancy is about 8. They have a couple of baked goods..some Chinese breads (ham & egg, ham, egg, & cheese, hot dog buns. There's also a nice selection of muffins and drinks. We ordered a matcha latte, draft latte, and regular ice coffee in addition to ham egg buns. You can't go wrong with a La Colombe draft :). It was good. The matcha was pretty straight forward but if you don't like a heavy bitter matcha taste consider adding sugar to it. Its not sweet without it. The ham and egg bun was average. I'm used to the bread part having a more sweet taste to it but it was still a good snack. Prices are pretty high but it doesn't look like they have much competition in the area. I didn't notice any other Asian bakeries in the area. We paid $21 total. Would come here every now and then but it probably won't be my go to spot!

Good cold brew and nice and quiet vibes. Seems like a grab and go type of cafe but there are tables where you can read or bring a friend. No wifi sadly but otherwise, a nice rest spot on an otherwise empty avenue. Baristas at the counter were pretty nice too.

    Matcha green tea-glazed donut
    Kathleen S.

Very good matcha green tea-glazed donut with a cake consistency. It's not too sweet, and the cake texture is reasonably light. On the small size compared to what other places sell, but perfect for the richness. While the prices aren't expensive, they're of course more expensive and smaller than what you'd find in Chinatown or Sunset Park. However, I'm willing to bet the quality of ingredients is higher and the service much friendlier.

    Matcha Latte

I usually get coffees here but I loved matcha lattes too. They put the right amount and it's not milky like other places from lack of matcha

If you're tired of coffee chains like Starbucks, this is the place to check out. Bread & Joe offers you traditional beverages and more. If you want to try something new and untraditional, try the Hong Kong style milk tea and the Thai iced tea. You will not be disappointed. Also, don't forget to try their baked goods. They bake everything in-house unlike Starbucks! The matcha donut seems to be the next big thing so give it a try. Unlike the traditional donut, it's baked, not fried! Prices are very comparable to other chains so your wallet won't be hurting. Location is close to the R line so don't forget to get your Bread & Joe before you hop on the subway!

You can see the products from the glass, the staff was quite warm and approachable. They were happy to let us taste test from the menu before committing. I saw lots of viable ice cream and ice cream bar options. Eventually I settled on the almond coconut bar. If you like Almond Joy, you'll be in heaven when you taste this. The flavor was rich without being intoxicating and it was the perfect treat for an unseasonably warm day. The prices are Fort Greene. This is not Baskin Robins per se. You're getting gourmet flavors in a pricey area so for me, that's not an issue. Sit outside, enjoy your ice cream, people watch and enjoy the experience.

Dear Customer Relations,…read more I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at one of your establishments. Last Saturday, I purchased an ice cream cake from your store. When my family and I cut into the cake, we discovered that I had been sold the wrong cake. I immediately called the store to explain the situation. The employee I spoke with apologized and told me not to worry, stating that if I came back the following day, the store would replace the cake at no charge. The next day, I returned to the store and explained that I was the customer who had been sold the wrong cake. The employees were already aware of the situation. However, instead of honoring what I had been told over the phone, I was asked whether I had a picture of the cake. That requirement had never been mentioned during my phone call. By that point, the cake had already been served and eaten at an outdoor gathering, so I no longer had it to photograph. I then asked to speak with a manager or supervisor because I felt the situation was being handled unfairly. No one responded. I then asked for your corporate contact information so I could address the matter directly. A gentleman who identified himself only as Kevin provided me with the corporate email address and told me to take a picture of it because they did not have enough business cards. After I thanked him, he asked what had happened, so I explained the situation from the beginning. At the end of the conversation, I politely asked for his name. He responded by saying, "I don't have to give you my name." I was surprised because I had remained calm, respectful, and had not raised my voice, used profanity, or behaved in a disrespectful manner. I simply wanted to know the name of the manager handling my complaint. When I asked again who the manager was, no one answered until it became apparent that Kevin himself was the manager. His refusal to identify himself and the way I was treated made me feel disrespected and dismissed as a customer. As a Black man, the interaction left me feeling as though I was being unfairly judged and treated differently. Whether intentional or not, that experience was humiliating and deeply upsetting. I have been a loyal customer who regularly visits your establishment to purchase ice cream, ice cream cakes, and milkshakes. I never expected to be treated in this manner over a simple mistake that was not my fault. I have attached my receipt and any other supporting documentation. I am requesting the following: A full refund for the ice cream cake I purchased. A formal investigation into how this incident was handled. Appropriate corrective action regarding Manager Kevin's conduct and customer service. A written response explaining how this matter will be resolved and what steps will be taken to ensure other customers are not treated similarly. I hope your company values its customers and will address this matter promptly and professionally. I look forward to your response.

The presentation of the Thai tea scoop was the same as years ago when I came here it also included two chocolate graham crackers. The black sesame seed taste interesting. It was both savory and sweet at the same time. They also include two little pieces of nori on top of the scoop. Too much surprised the white me so almonds didn't taste that strong. It has very mild taste. Didn't really taste the miso. The honey ginger on the other hand when you first tasted it it taste a mile but when you swallow it, the ginger started to stay in your mouth.
