Great place to get work done! I came in on a Friday afternoon and worked until almost closing time (6:20pm). Free wifi. Outlets. No distractions or loud music. There was pleasant background music which wasn't overbearing. Enough seats for the customers who stayed a while. I ordered the milk tea and a matcha doughnut. Both were decent and I would order again. The owner made a batch of chocolate chip muffins and offered them free of charge to me and some other customers and encouraged feedback. I love OG Asian bakeries like Tai pan and Fay da, and this place has a similar feel with an update to the pastries and treats and a space that's comfortable and enjoyable to stay a while. At my first visit, I told them exactly "either you guys have really good friends (gave them 5 stars on yelp) or the stuffs are really good here". I bought an egg tart (it's only a dollar!!) with some hesitancy, brought it home for snack. Even though it wasn't warm, the egg tart was still good and very delicious. I have been here a few times since it's opened and ever since it has gotten a lot better in terms of the variety of beverages and buns. The red bean bun is delicious. The bread is soft with a little bit of chew. The proportion of red bean to bread is perfect with each bite having a mouthful of red bean. In terms of beverages I've had the Thai iced tea and green tea latte which were both great. I still have yet to try the other buns and beverages but so far so good. Must try! read more

Super cute place, I've been trying to look for a good matcha latte in Brooklyn so I don't have to go all the way to Bibble &Sip or Chalait so when This place opened, I was excited I would recommend the Matcha Latte which taste amazing without sweetener! We also tried: -The mango smoothie: was decent -Nutella bun: not much Nutella inside so it wasn't too sweet -Baked Matcha donut: the matcha glazing suited the baked donut well; wouldn't have been as good if it was a fried donut. This place had me at Matcha Glazed Baked Cake Doughnuts. Too bad they were out on the afternoon we decided to drop by. Luckily, the friendly and welcoming barista (owner?) charmed me into forgetting my disappointment. Plus hubby wanted to try a Pork Bun and a Hot Dog Bun, among the few items that were left in the display case that day: Pork Bun was the big winner of the two, boasting tender, flavorful meat that avoided the extreme sweetness and gobs of fat that sometimes mar my gold standard from Mei Li Wah. Hot Dog Bun had potential, but the bun component was gummy. Loved both the smooth, well-balanced Cold Brew on tap, and the Thai Iced Tea, which toned down the typical sweetness of this drink enough to allow some tea flavor to shine through. I would have been happier with even less sugar, but that's me. If this spot were in my 'hood, I'd be a regular. But instead, it's located on a rather desolate auto repair shop littered stretch of Fourth Avenue. So though I'd love to return and try that elusive Matcha Glazed Doughnut, it may be awhile. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE coming to this cafe! I come here for my coffee, iced coffee, and iced teas. The owners Bryant and James are super friendly and love that I am supporting a local business. It's a great place to sit down and work on your laptop (great wifi!). They have approximately 4-5 tables. They have delicious, and I mean DELICIOUS, homemade Chinese (and American) sweet treats/desserts. They make it all themselves; from chocolate chip cookies, matcha donuts, cinnamon buns and Chinese buns. Plus, it's right off the R train on Prospect Avenue, can't go wrong with stopping by here before your morning commute or for a mid-day break. Super clean and cute place to visit! read more

These dudes are a very welcome addition to 4th ave which is a very tough street to thrive in if you aren't an auto shop, a shady-looking union office or a maybe-homeless man in a white t-shirt three sizes too large. In addition to good coffee they have a sizable selection of Asian buns which I hadn't had in a while since deleting Tinder. An employee looked apologetically over to their boss? and said they didn't have them, and upon further probing, said they haven't made them in a while. No other explanation or follow up. We love Bread & Joe! Their coffee and pastries are delicious and are glad they are here to stay. We drink our coffee black and theirs is simply smooth, strong, and really--it's delicious. We regularly get cold brew and regular coffee. On occasion we used to get their bubble tea (think they stopped offering it during the pandemic). They make all their pastries in house (!!). Our favorites are the Asian/Taiwanese style ones--red bean; ham and egg; and ham, egg, and cheese buns. They're perfect for the morning with coffee (or really any time of day). We also enjoy their blueberry muffins (they are generous with their blueberries) and the cheddar chive scone. Oh their giant cookies are so good, too, coming from someone that doesn't really eat cookies. The owners are also really kind. Good people, good coffee, and good pastries! read more

The atmosphere is so nice and welcoming, during the hot summer they have the AC going, they have WiFi, AWESOME coffee, tea, and even boba milk tea, making this a prime spot to hang out for a while and order a couple drinks/snacks. Been hearin abt this spot so decided to stop by when i was passin by during work. The owners greeted me and was so friendly. They took the time to name all the items they had in their glass display. I ended up getting several green tea matcha donuts and brownies. I also tried their cold brew iced coffee. Loved their coffee cos it was packed with flavor. I usually have to put 2 sugars and milk in my coffee but their coffee was so flavorful that it barely needed any sugar/milk. Their green tea matcha donut was moist and not overly sweet--just my liking. My bf enjoyed their brownies and he went back on his own to get more. The place is small but has a decent seating area for people to work on their laptop and hang out to enjoy their snacks. This place should be one of the best bakery around the neighborhood. I work 5 blocks away and it totally worth the walk. Their coffee always very nice and always tasted fresh. The buns are so good when eaten right away while still warm. Still good the next day when reheated too. As for donuts, I'm normally not a fan but the matcha donuts are the perfect texture and not overly sweet. And makes me feel better about eating them knowing they are baked. Drink wise, thai tea is my personal favorite. And I'm super glad they have soy and almond milk substitutes for people like me who can't hold down our dairy. :) read more

Love it here - a much needed addition to the neighborhood! The service is always super efficient, but friendly and warm. There are great drink options (bubble tea now, too!) and there are usually specials like the recent honey lavender latte which are fun to try. I haven't tried the baked goods yet but am always tempted - I've read that they make everything in house. Highly highly recommend!
