My quest for more bubble tea attain continues which a Yelp search takes my travels to Brooklyn. This business is very accessible via MTA NYC Transit A, C, R trains at Jay Street Metrotech station in Brooklyn, NYC. Willoughby Street has been bombarded with bubble tea businesses in recent years. Chihiro Tea is a very quaint little adorable tea shop with a Shiba theme. This business name in Japanese means "a thousand questions." Chi 千, thousand hiro 尋, search, seek Momoka Lemon 青柠桃桃, $8.50 Jasmine green tea with fresh lime and special peach sauce 茉莉绿茶配新鲜青柠和特制桃子酱。Chihiro Tea offers my favorite default topping grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 for $0.75 which was good and served chilled. The grass jelly was very minimal for paucity - total dismay. The entire drink was embedded with lime, lime pulp and fresh pieces of peach fruit. I wanted the supporting cast to be grass jelly and the lead to be Jasmine green tea, but this lime and heavy lime pulp were aggravating annoyance that stole the spotlight. I decribe the amount of herbal jelly topping to be scant, conveying insufficiency or minimalism. There were absolutely nothing alleged special of this peach sauce. I have chosen my default 30% sugar which highly counteracted with the lime. The lime and lime pulp were very strong. My drink tasted intensely sour, albeit refreshing. A lime drink is not my desideratum. Lime is not my interest. The woman cashier/ server Mattie was attentive, friendly welcoming who served with warm hospitality and patience for customer service. She permitted me to take a lot of photos for this review without any complaints as I could not resist this very cute adorable Shiba theme. If I could suggest to the owner for change of this drink ingredients either to remove of this lime and lime pulp, or significantly decreased the amount inputted. If I could, I could. For $0.75 as a paid topping it is my prerogative to have one quarter quantity of the drink size. The full ice melted entirely, but my drink sustained its coolness and was still chilled during my long-haul subway ride home. Disappointedly, there are no takeout drink menus. read more

I enjoy bubble tea and saw Chihiro near my hotel. I ordered the special tea a watermelon flavor. I opted for no cheese foam. I added lychee jelly and boba to the drink. I also get mine less sweet. The drink was tasty and had plenty of boba and lychee jelly. I hate when places skimp on the boba. Overall, I will go back to Chihiro in the future. I was walking by and noticed yet another new boba shop popped up on Willoughby. The few blocks around the Metrotech area have in recent years become inundated with new bubble tea places. Chihiro Tea sets itself apart by being a pet-friendly business, with several house signatures I haven't seen elsewhere including their Strawberry Phobia and Chijito. The shop space is small but with tall ceilings so it does not feel cramped at all. There are two self-order kiosks as well as someone at the counter to help. The staff members were super friendly and the owner even has pictures of his cat as decor! I ordered the SOFT ($9) and the Passion Impact ($8.75), both of which were fruit-based. Like Yifang, Chihiro uses fresh fruit in their tea that they smash with a pestle before adding in tea, so you get a fruit forward flavor (and sometimes pulp) in every sip. The only con though, is that sometimes the drinks have a bitter taste at the end because the rind also gets smashed. Overall, Chihiro is a great option nearby if you love fruity flavors in your tea. I also love that they use crystal jelly instead of regular tapioca pearls, as I feel they pair with fruit drinks better and provide a better textural contrast. read more

Decided to give the newest bubble tea place in the area a try- I ordered the shojo koi fruit tea with boba. They didn't have any regular boba left so they asked me if I was ok with brown sugar boba, which was no problem. The tea itself was the right balance of sweet and tart, and I liked it a lot. The brown sugar boba also tasted good but were on the harder side, maybe because it was the end of the day, not sure. My drink was ~$9. I love that Chihiro Tea is in the neighborhood. I didn't know what to expect, but I was very satisfied. I love that they have 2 self ordering screens upon entry. The staff is always very friendly and nice. If there are many multiple orders then it may take a little while for your order to be prepared, but the wait isn't bad. Bubble tea is incredibly fresh and made with all real teas and fruit. This is my 4th time here and I'm obsessed with the regular milk teas as well as the fruit teas in flavors of peach, grapefruit, strawberry, and passionfruit. I stopped by for a quick snack recently with some friends. Didn't have super high expectations as it's a very unassuming storefront, but was honestly blown away! The tea flavor comes through really strongly, and blends nicely with the creaminess of the milk. I got 25%, and it was the perfect sweetness for me, as their pearls themselves are actually pretty sweet too. The pearls are also really chewy without being soft, which is my ideal texture.
