Seaweed Pork Floss Eggy Waffle and Biscoff Mochi Eggy Waffle
    Melody C.

Before HeyTea came along on 86th street, Jooy Tea Shoppe was top tier. And maybe it still is. Their drinks - not all but some - are comparable to HeyTea's, especially the matcha and mango drinks. I've been drinking their watermelon slushee often because it's free when you spend over a certain amount on one of the food apps. I get the least amount of sugar and it kind of tastes like watermelon juice. It's very refreshing but I wouldn't send it out to compete with the other popular tea chains. This place not only sells drinks but sandwiches and small bites. Their crispy chicken sandwich is recommendable. The sauce is yummy and the chicken is usually juicy. I usually get the combos so I can takoyaki or curly fries with the sandwich. Recently, I tried their egg waffles, which seems to be a newer offer here. They have very enticing flavors, but it's kind of pricey considering it doesn't come with ice cream, like some other egg waffle shops. I tried the pork floss with seaweed but it tasted too fishy. I also tried the mochi biscoff flavor but the biscoff is not very obvious. It is softer and chewier than the pork floss and seaweed, and I think it's because of the mochi. I prefer my egg waffles crispier

I've been to the other Jooy Tea Shoppe location by 8th avenue and this one was just as good. Ordering is easy from the kiosk and drinks and snacks are ready in a flash. Love the amount of space they have for seating, and all the tables were spotless. Perfect for grabbing something on the go or a super casual dine-in experience.

I love Jooy Tea! Strawberry tornado is my go-to, it's super creamy and it's such a yummy frozen strawberry blend. I did get regular sugar and it wasn't too sweet, it was just right. The strawberry flavor was so fresh. This location has a nice calming aesthetic, and the seating area is so cute. It's a great spot to lounge and hang out at for a bit. I ordered at the kiosk and service was pretty quick. I definitely want to come back and try more flavors!

Good experience! Their drinks are yummy and well made. We ordered the coco mango 50% sugar and oat milk and the lychee dragon fruit with 70% sugar. The spicy popcorn chicken was yummy but a little disappointing because of the portions and the pieces of straight up crunchy flour. The place itself is a little bland and did not work for me (aka the fluorescent lighting & kids running around). They went for a minimalist vibe but it felt awkward to sit down and enjoy. It would be great to see more combo deals in the future!

    COCO MANGO

The Coco Mango tasted like fresh blended fruits (coconut, mango) with toppings! The contrast between the silky coconut pudding and crystal boba was a nice touch. My Mom wanted lychee jelly so we added it to the mix! In terms of presentation, the pink/purple top layer was more muted compared to the menu item. However it made up for it in taste. I chose 30% sugar but it was still a little too sweet for my liking. I'm excited to check out the other items on this menu! I ordered via the kiosk and the order was very quick. I sat down for maybe a minute.

    Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea

i picked this bubble tea place on a whim while walking around 8th avenue, and it was exactly what i was expecting. i usually go for a brown sugar boba, and this one was pretty solid. the place is clean, lots of seating, and my drink was made super quick. honestly, nothing crazy about it--it's a pretty standard bubble tea. but for the price, it's definitely a good deal. it was only around $6-7, which is cheaper than a lot of the other spots around here, where drinks usually go for $8-9. overall, i'd totally recommend jooy tea shoppe.

This is a wonderful bubble tea shop, one of my top faves. Here they use fresh fruit. There are so many unique combination of drinks to choose from! There are drinks with avocado, watermelon, Mochi and so on. I ordered the mochi and milk earl grey milk drink. It has some purple rice in the drink which was pretty interesting. Other drinks we love here are the watermelon smash and rose jasmine milk tea. You can select your sugar and ice levels and your toppings. The drinks are all large sizes. There are also some snacks and burgers on the menu which we haven't tried yet.

    THAI MILK TEA
    Ling C.

My friend and I came here after having lunch in Bay Ridge. I ordered the Thai milk tea. I asked for 30% sugar. It was still too sweet for me. If I was to come back here, I would ask for unsweetened. At 3pm on Sunday afternoon, this shop was packed. There was no place to sit. I thought it was very clever that they have a neon sign saying "Today, I choose Jooy." The definition of joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. It did bring me happiness drinking that bubble tea.

LYCHEE DRAGON FRUIT & MANGO POMELO
    Sharon L.

Finally had a chance to try Jooy, and this might be my new favorite drink spot around the Bensonhurst area! The Lychee Dragonfruit tea has the perfect blend of lychee and green tea, and regular sugar was just right! Definitely would recommend this. The mango pomelo was good, but not our favorite. The coconut flavor overpowered the mango in my opinion; would have preferred for it to taste more mango-y. The self service kiosk appears to be the go to ordering method here, so I'm not sure if they accept cash. It's a refficient system though, and they got our order out really quickly. Seating is available inside. It's great for grabbing a drink & catching up with friends, but note that it can be a bit noisy inside. Not overwhelmingly noisy, but not an intimate spot either.

RAW chicken in my grilled chicken burger. Simply disgusting.
    Abbie M.

I do not recommend this place at all and won't be coming back ever again. I got served RAW chicken in my grilled chicken burger and that is unacceptable. While eating my burger I realized that the chicken was pink and could not believe it when I realized the chicken was literally uncooked in the middle of the grilled chicken patty. Was so disgusted and wanted to throw up. I alerted the staff and they told me they'd make me a new one but at that point would I even want a new one and did not trust the chef. This is actually unacceptable as this could make the customer really sick. I ended up getting a full refund for my order after asking for one but honestly I'm super upset and disgusted this happened. A refund is the least they can do for a customer who was served raw chicken without the customer even having to ask for one. Whoever the chef is should not be cooking in the kitchen at all.

First time visiting after hearing so much from friends! The drinks were large in size which is great. My friends got the rose jasmine and I got the matcha n jasmine. For my drink, I got 0 sugar but it was still fairly sweet probably due to the matcha powder. I did wish they had unsweetened matcha powder as an option as that with the jasmine would've been a lot more strong. For snacks, we got the Taiwanese fried chicken which was fresh and juicy, curly fries, and truffle fries but these were the most disappointing because there was barely any truffle flavor. There is adequate seating for a few parties as well as outlets if you want to work at the cafe. Inside is pretty spacious and you can order at the kiosk. The service was a little slow but they had a lot of customers so it was understandable.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo with Wings and Mango Pomelo w/ Coconut Pudding
    Sammi K.

I've heard about Jooy opening up at the heart of 86th Street but have never been to the shop myself. Both times I've ordered from here were through delivery apps so keep that in mind when reading my review. Or you don't have to because it doesn't matter, the food is excellent even though I didn't eat it there! Both times, I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo with a side and a mango pomelo drink. The spicy chicken sandwich comes with a HUGE fried chicken thigh and it's so juicy even though it traveled all the way to my house. The sauce is a bit sweet and spicy, which is perfect for my taste. The veggies were also fresh and helped cut the heaviness of the chicken. When I tell you this sandwich is filling, I really mean it! For the sides, I've tried their wings and curly fries. Their wings are really good too - seasoned well and crispy. The curly fries were standard curly fries you would get anywhere else. I've always loved mango pomelo and I'm so happy that you can choose whichever drink you'd like from the menu! There are so many to choose from and I was so tempted to try another drink but I honestly really liked the mango pomelo that I got the first time so I got it again. Maybe the mangoes weren't as sweet the second time around so it wasn't as good as the first time, but it was still delicious nonetheless. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks!! Oh yeah, the best part about JOOY is that they make their drinks with lactose-free milk, and you can choose milk alternatives free of charge. As someone who's lactose intolerant, I really appreciate places that care about their customers!

The menu is pretty expansive and covers what you'd expect from a boba place, including fresh fruit teas, brown sugar bobas, yakult drinks, matcha ones, and the normal milk teas. It's interesting that the drinks only came in one size according to the type. I ordered a honeydew milk tea, and tried to get it as a small or medium, but they only had large. Boba was also an extra 75 cents. The drink itself was ok, it was both very sweet and watery. You couldn't taste any tea flavor. The boba was below average and there was hardly any in the drink. It didn't even fully cover the bottom of the cup. They were pretty soft, but didn't have any flavor. My friend got the standard milk tea and it also tasted pretty watery. The service was also pretty slow. The woman who took our order was a bit rude and we had to actively try to flag her down, even though the restaurant was empty. Overall, I wouldn't come back for boba. Tbar, which is nearby is a much better alternative.

The star of the show: purple yam souffle with vanilla ice cream is chefs kiss!! I thought I couldn't like any dessert more than their chocolate molten lava cake but this one definitely takes the spot. Top two desserts they have! Even when I had lava cakes at fancy establishments, it doesn't hold a candle to prince tea house! Their crepe cakes are also alright but I've found the to be less unique and enjoyable especially the brown sugar boba which sometimes comes out in clumps hard to pour onto the cake. Their food selection is decent for sandwiches like chicken katsu and also fries. Their fruity teas aren't my style but their hot milk teas are amazing. The lavender green tea was more green tea which was disappointing, hoped to taste more lavender. The best one is the rose lovers milk tea, literally perfection each time. Unfortunately, this place may no longer be my usual. My favorite part of this place is that the serves don't really care about you in the sense that the bring you food and leave you alone. However, they now impose mandatory 20% tip on all tables even for table of 1 or 2. This location only. As someone who realizes the servers here simply bring food and nothing else here (which I actually love as I don't like to be bothered) but expect a high mandatory tip, this is not the way to go. Especially since there have been numerous occasions where servers are nowhere to be seen and refuse to service you for something as simple as napkins or a check if they're not your server, this is an absurd addition. Definitely visiting less now that this happened. The most bothersome is that it's mandatory. Doesn't seem right/ethical and makes it feel less genuine. Had the pleasure of visiting other prince tea house locations and the service seems better, even water without asking, surprising cash discount, and most importantly: don't impose this mandatory tip! Not sure what changed here but not what it used to be with this and it needs to change.
