If there was a negative rating, I would have given it- worst customer service EVER. This company is great if you never need any assistance- otherwise- forget it! We had a two year agreement, after a few months, our bill went up $15/mo for an increase in "taxes"- I let it go. At the end of our 2 year contract, our bill shot up over $50. We called to cancel and they extended our deal and gave us premium channels (which we were already supposed to have, but it never worked on our TIVO cable card, so we didn't know it). Fine, we are happy. I let it go. Then we go to watch HBO in our room and it didn't work. we called, told them the error message and info and they couldn't get it to work so they scheduled an appt from 5-7pm saying a tech would call before he showed up. The tech never called and came to the house at 6:50. I let it go. He then said it must be our cable card (which we got from comcast in the first place) and none of the ones he had with them would work. So he said he had to schedule a second appt- my husband and i both work and have 2 small kids in daycare so time is a premium- I let it go. we scheduled for Friday b/w 3 and 5; again, the tech was supposed to call- he never called and never showed up. My husband tried calling customer service at 5:30 and got cut off once and it wouldn't let his call go through the second time.We both tried calling back and after being on the phone for an hour and going back and forth, my husband was hung up on and I was told a supervisor would call me back in 5 min--they never did. They initially told my husband that we didn't have an appt (even though i confirmed it with their automated call the day prior). later she said she saw the tech wrote that he called an no one answered so he closed out the ticket as completed. He never called and I offered to provide my cell phone records to prove it. my call wasn't any more successful as I was told they don't give cable cards and i would have to go into a service center in person to get a new card. I was livid and asked to talk to a supervisor. they said she was busy and would call me back- but didn't. At 1030, after the kids were in bed, I thought I would try again since they boast 24-7 service and I thought it would be slower. BIG MISTAKE. apparently they shift all of their evening calls over seas. The first person I talked to was nice and seemed like she was going to help---only to get transferred 4 TIMES and have to tell the same account info and story over and over again. I am still on hold now (1 hour and 10 mins into my call) and I am ready to KILL someone. Why do i even bother. moral of the story- call Verizon or Direct TV. I have been calling Comcast at 1-800-391-3000 since April regarding a construction issue that has needed URGENT attention from Comcast all this time. I have been given a ticket number and called over 50 times while waiting for anyone in the Construction department for zip code 22302 to get back to me. Dealing with Comcast has been the bane of my existence. It has been over two months and NO ONE has responded to me AT ALL. My ticket has been "elevated" at least five times. I was told that it can sometimes take up to two weeks to hear back from someone. THEN WHY IS THIS TAKING TWO MONTHS?!?! AND STILL NO RESPONSE! This is ridiculous. Comcast is pissing everyone up, from the City of Alexandria to the developers involved. We're getting to the point where we might just have to get City approval to tear down your utility lines and not replace them at all. For the millions of dollars that you are costing everyone, you will also be losing money for the customers who will not be using your services in the new building that we're constructing. Maybe someone at Comcast will finally be able to respond to me after two months. read more

I have signed up with this service again only because it is the only available internet connection in my area. I need internet for school work as well as my job and my roommates are in college courses as well. I think the service I receive for the price I pay monthly is absolutely horrendous. I hate this service and everyone I have talked to has the same issues. Within the first 3 months of having this service installed in my house the connection would get lost multiple times a day and there were a few days where just unplugging or even restarting the router did nothing. Finally had a technician come out and help, and he is probably the only reason this review even gets a star (other than the fact that I cannot rate 0 stars). The man was very polite and explained to me any issues I may have with the connection and what I can do about it. After making some adjustments he was on his way in less than 20 minutes. Customer service is not the best and I do not like how long it takes to fix an issue with my account since I am asked the same questions about my account with every person I talk to on the phone all across the world. if there was another available service that I could afford I would switch to it immediately. I 100% NEVER recommend this service for ANYTHING. I also dislike that after 12months of service they start charging you more, if I am a loyal customer then you should not charge extra for the same terrible service! I hate this business model and I hate this company. I will continue to pay for the 12 months I signed up for and I will move away and find a much better internet service provider. Like other consumers wish I could put negative stars!!!! My elderly parents had a condo in Maryland but realized they would not be able to come up from their assisted living home in Virginia any longer so they wrote several times to cancel Comcast in their condo. They continued to get bills and eventually were told they hadn't turned in their box to cancel their service. So husband and I took the day off from work and went to the condo--there was no box, they were hard-wired into the wall. We called Comcast and told them there is no box and they said basically, too bad, you aren't authorized to cancel the service anyway! My husband spent an hour on the phone with numerous people and a supervisor telling them they were sent letters by the customers. These people ripped off two elderly people. I wrote the County and eventually received a letter from Comcast with no apology--just a "sorry you weren't happy with our service"!!!! read more

Poor communication, some really inconvenient outages when I had work stuff due, etc. But fundamentally I'm changing to RCN because they seem *slightly* less evil, and also for 110-115mbps the cheapest unbundled deal Comcast has today was $79, but just $49 with RCN. So Comcast sent me another DVR in the mail. This one was actually a DVR, but it was a faulty piece of equipment. Of course, it took a week of tinkering around and waiting on hold for them to figure out that the box just wasn't working. I was told to return the box and the HD they had sent previously to a comcast office. I refused. In the end, I got them to come to my home at a time convenient for me to pick up the 2 boxes and to refund me for a month's service. read more

Worse service I have ever received. I have to call weekly to get an Internet boost because I am not getting my 125 mps I pay for. Rather I get around 65 on average. Everyday I have to disconnect my internet to get to work somewhat. This is frustrating because I work at home and expect to get the mps I pay for. 5 stars. Everything got done on time and I'm not even that tech savvy. I have a 15 mbps internet plan and my cell phone with YouTube videos as well as HBO on Amazon prime with my ps4 works great on it. Both were functioning at the same time! Great service so far. read more

I think we are in general agreement that the Comcast customer service system is horrible. 4 hours on the phone during a move was not the frustration I needed today. 5 of the 8 people I talked to today were lovely and just trying to help but the system just sucks. The people selling the packages are great at bait and switch and I think Comcast banks on you getting too frustrated to try and fix it. The supervisors were horribly rude, my advice is just to call back and find a nice customer service rep who will actually try and help and not just sell you more services. read more

Because the installation of cable took place at a location in Prince George's County, I selected this Comcast listing for my review. My experience today was a mix of plusses and minuses, that averaged out to a 2 - 2 1/2 star experience. The good: The original technican showed up within the three-hour window of time we were given. The cable ultimately got installed, and the Comcast contractors carefully explained everything we needed to know about the service. The office manager showed a genuine interest in making sure our needs and complaints were addressed and that the job was done. The bad: The original technician who came spent 4 hours on what should have been a 45 minute to one-hour job. She kept calling her supervisor on the phone and taking trips to her truck. At the end of the 4 hours, she accomplished the following: she removed the outlet covers, scratched a table, and temporarily caused a neighbor to lose his cable service. As a result of the difficulties she was having, she missed 6 other appointments to install cable. The original technician left after the 4 hours and said her supervisor was on the way to do the job. The supervisor came with another technican over an hour later. It was very difficult to arrange for the visit online (it appeared we had no other choice), and there was a disconnect between what we ordered on line and what the billing department thought we ordered. It got straightened out, though. In the end, Comcast came through on the day it was supposed to, and my son's apartment now has cable. Our experience with the original technican was dreadful; our experience with the manager and the technician he brought with him was much, much better. read more

2 years ago I was staying at my girlfriends house and my girlfriends parents had an account with you comcast. I was unaware that 2 accounts were not allowed at the same address so I signed up for service myself. Comcast sent me the equipment and before I could even open the box I was told that comcast could not hook my service up because there was already an account at that address. I returned the equipment but they still charged me for 2 months $480 which is way above the agreed monthly price that stayed on my credit for 2 years. I called and called but was unsuccessful at getting it removed. I was unable to find a place to live because this account was bringing my credit down so bad. I didnt know that it was for a service bill.. I thought it was because they never received the equipment. Finally I was able to get it removed off of my credit and get into my own place. I figured since it was off my credit that they realized that I didnt owe them any money so I signed up for service again at my new address. It cant happen twice right? I was wrong. Again I was let down because the technician never showed up. I called to see what was happening and this old bill that I didnt owe for haunts me. I call to get everything straightened out but this time.. low and behold.. They finally figured out I didnt owe them this money and the agent was able to remove the bill and the block on my new address. And for my trouble I was getting a free installation along with my new services on the 17th of this month. I was a very happy person but yet again.. I get in touch with them again for help with creating my xfinity id and no one seems to know what I am talking about. I dont have services coming on the 17th and I have to go through everything again. And when we get through they tell me I wont get service for 2 days later after the 17th. And im not getting a free install. I said just forget it. Comcast is the worse provider I ever dealt with in my whole life and Im telling everyone I know what happened to me. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This review isn't for any Comcast customer service center, it's for the Comcast Company as a whole. First of all, my mother and I have been loyal Comcast customers for over 5 years and everything was fine up until 2 days ago. My mother looked online to view her Comcast bill and she noticed some chargers that she did not recognized and also the bill had gone up from $240 a month to $290 a month. My mother called Comcast the very next morning and she was told that, that was a mistake on their part but that they were doing a increase on their bill because of something that had to do with the FCC but nobody contacted her and told her anything. She was told the increase was only for Washington, DC residents. Mind you, I have a sister and aunt who both live in Maryland and they both have triple play the same as we do but they both only pay about $140 a month. That's crazy. What's even crazier is that she called a couple of other cable companies but was told that they couldn't provide us with cable service because Comcast had this area. WTF! How and the hell are they going to not allow us to go with another cable company when were paying customers? It's gotten to the point now where the cable bill is higher than the rent so now where forced to let cable go. After all of these years, we have to go back to regular TV. We have to get a converter box and a TV antenna. I don't even remember what like is like before cable. At this point, I would NOT recommend Comcast to anyone. read more

First, they just jumped my bill by about $15...and to add insult to injury...my internet service...which I am getting through Xfinity is going to be out for most of the day. And I am working from home! I called Xfinity's customer service line...and basically got an, "Oh, well." I talked to someone named Sherrie who seemed to think that because I didn't have a business internet deal with the company...I was just screwed and didn't deserve any sort of compensation. Their crimes are too numerous to count. Three weeks ago our internet suddenly stopped working. We called them, they said it was our modem, even though our modem was on their list of supported modems. We got a new modem anyway. Still didn't work. We made an appointment for a guy to come. He didn't come. We got another new modem and somehow got our internet working. Fast forward to last week our internet craps out again. We're on the phone with them for hours again. They say it is the modem again, even though it's a new modem and it's been working for two weeks. They send a guy out. He plugs in his modem, claims the internet is working (doesn't show us) blames our modem and leaves. Even now that the internet is supposedly working I can't seem to download big files. I have tried about 10 times and it always just stops partway through. Video chat also doesn't work. I was on hold long enough to make a Yelp account and write this review. I moved into a building that had xfinity cables already installed. Despite this, it took me two hours of dealing with various departments on the phone to get the internet set up. They then tried to schedule a (costly) home installation, even though I already had the necessary equipment. When a called a couple days later to cancel the home install (cancelling the first time somehow didn't work), they deactivated my account in addition to cancelling the home installation I didn't need. I had to call again (which took another hour of being shuffled around their customer service line) to get my internet turned back on. I've heard about Comcast for years without having to deal with them directly, and now I can confirm that they absolutely live up to their awful reputation. read more

I first moved into my building in July 2017, and it took Xfinity two months to install cable and wifi (cable which turned out to have no channels, despite being $100/month). Upon signing up, I was promised a different price over the phone ($70/month) than I received (previously mentioned $100/month) and no Xfinity representative was able to help me reconcile those payments. I would strongly recommend you go with Fios unless you have no other option / I will give you my personal Verizon hotspot as an alternative. As to be expected by the previous reviews, bad service all around, but had no option but to go with the Xfinity due to Comcast's partnership my apartment complex. read more

If you expect service on a scheduled date and time you might as well forget about it. I had an appointment scheduled for 10-12 AM on a Saturday so I didn't have to take off of work. I received a phone call at 11:25 from a 1-866 # which showed up as Out of the Area" so I didn't answer the phone. When I saw that a message was left, i called to find out that it was Comcast and since i didn't answer my phone the appointment was cancelled immediately. I called Comcast back in less than 2 minutes to confirm that I was waiting and was told that the repairman would show up in 1/2 an hour. The repairman did not show up so i was forced by Comcast to reschedule. Very poor customer service and blatant shady practice to use a Telemarketer phone number when calling customers. Though the account is in my name, the current primary user ID is for my ex who from whom I have be separated from for 7 years ago. Do they think it gives me that much more pleasure to have to revisit this again, and again, and again??**!!## Even customer service does not know the answer to the question. Tammy was nice but referred me to a number for techs who would charge me $80 an hour to fix the issue. The second appointment, the same thing happened. Like people have nothing better to do with their time than sit around waiting for the comcast cable guy to show up. I called and insisted on speaking to a supervisor. Who then assured me next day installation for free and blah, blah, blah. The guy came, said the cable pole on my street was too high and they needed to come back with a truck. My question, of course was, when? " Well, tomorrow is Sunday. We don't work on Sunday. Concast's Xfinity X1 system Guide for TV is phenomenal feature-wise, HOWEVER the service and functionality is awful. HEre's what you need to know. If you like pausing and rewinding live programs you will need a DVR enabled box for each set. That's an additional $19.95 for each one. To get the X1 system you will need the Internet bundle. Concast Internet is crap downloads speeds are decent depending on the option but upload speed is pathetic and so is latency (ping response). If you have gamers or are a heavy social media uploader, you will not be pleased. Customer support is hit and miss. you can be assured you will get different information each time you speak with a customer support rep. Shared DVR functionality is sketchy and clumsy if you do have a multiple DVR set-up. DVR boxes see only what was recorded on itself not shared from the other DVR(s). Non-DVR boxes see only programs recorded one of the DVR enabled boxes, not the other ones. Which box your recording ends up on is a bit of a mystery, I think it is just the first DVR seen by the slave (non-DVR box). Programming packages (even the top package) exclude TMC which is $16 per month extra. If you have only 1 TV or don't mind spending close to $300 per month (for 4 or more TVs), you will be happy, otherwise do not waste your time. read more
