NEWEST SCAM! Xfinity! I decided to turn my landline and internet over to Xfinity. I've been a cable customer since 2009! I'm not even going to tell you about the installer that came over and left - leaving me without a land line, internet and cable! I go to the Morton Grove, IL store to "port" my landline over to them. The salesman keeps telling me to change my cell from Verizon - 4 times. I told him, please! Stop asking me. I've already been offered a free phone to so do. No. I am not. They took great care of me when someone bought 5 burner phones in my name and account number. They were wonderful. No hassle. They reported the phones as stolen. The Xfinity rep said, you know we are a 3rd party biller for Verizon and others. If you let us just bill you, you will get $45.00 off your bill & a gift card. I said, as long as you aren't touching my service, fine. He then asks to see my phone. How stupid could I be! He turns his back to me, I move up and thought that I saw him open my phone and remove something. Being too damn trusting. I said nothing. Later that night, I had no cell phone service at all. I did have an alert from Verizon, asking if I changed carriers. I went to log into Verizon and guess what?!! I now had Xfinity for my cell phone account! He illegally tampered with my phone; behind my back and removed my SIM card! Folks, this is not only illegal, according to the FCC, do you know what someone can do with your SIM card? Port your number to a burner; get into your banking accounts, credit cards,etc. I called Verizon. They said, You're no longer a customer. I explained what happened, the rep asked, do you have your Verizon SIM card. I said , no and told her what happened. She said, SIM card!that's not only bad for security, I could have helped you reinstall over the phone. Now, You need to go to a Verizon store. To keep my cell number, it takes 7-10 days to get the same SIM card. I use my phone for work and have an aunt, who is dying. I can't be without a cell phone. Additionally, I still have no landline because Xfinity has a hold on it even though it's still an AT&T account. I had to buy a new IPhone! I had a trade in but still spent more than $600.00! I called Comcast. I talked to at least 4 people. Not even the mobile manager had much of a reaction. Not I'm sorry or will look into it. Now, we make an appointment at the same Xfinity store. We ask to see the manager. The rep had a mask on but just shook his head up and down. He said, you can't see the manager, the floor reps take care of you. It's not in our policy to compensate any customers. I know he had a mask on but he was smirking. I lost it! I raised my voice and said, so it's legal to tamper with my phone and personal information and change over my service to you! He shrugged his shoulders. My husband asked for the manager's name. He said, I can't tell you that. My husband said, what do you mean? We can't talk to the manager? What's his/her name.? After asking 3x, he said, Chris. We asked is that a man or a woman? He said, I can't tell you. My husband said give us your card. He was silent. I don't have one here. My husband said, I'm going to ask you one more time. He reluctantly gave him his card. We got in the car and my husband said -he looked familiar. I said all I know his eyes said, too bad for you, chump. We look at the card, it's the same guy that tampered with my phone!!! We made 3 more appointments to see the manager. He never showed up or was busy. When Verizon saw their SIM card in my phone, they said, Xfinity again? Now also know that AT&T, my original landline provider, and myself have called Xfinity regarding porting over that phone number - four times! I have not had a land line since August 18th! What would you, as a consumer do! I'm filing with the FCC. For 25 years, I have worked with the media as a spokesperson for the CEO. Sitting on the hot seat with print, broadcast and digital media. Many of my contacts are gone. However, our largest 24/7 all news radio station, I was on there sometimes every hour for 2-3 days handling service disruptions. I'm sure I could get through to someone. Or go to either NBC On Your Side or CBS' The Investigators. If you had the time to read all of this, could you please tell me what you would do if you were me? I'm still madder than hell. I walked in here on a Monday afternoon to drop off several pieces of equipment and was taken care of in a quick and efficient manner. I don't have a single complaint about Comcast service in the 3 years we were customers. However, their prices kept increasing and it was ridiculous to pay nearly $160/month for cable and internet. During the 3 years we were customers not once did we have an issue that required a technician visiting our house or even a phone call. Nearly unheard of for others. From observing other customers in the Golf Rd. location on the day I visited, the store appears to be a high-stress place at times. It's possible I got lucky... I'm with JW W. My experience was surprisingly fantastic here, and Daphny was great to work with. Let's just say our modem finally kicked the bucket and it was time to get a new one and upgrade to the X1 system. We were in denial for a really long time, accepting our cutting out Internet and making excuses, trying to avoid the drive to Morton Grove (pretty far from our place) in order to deal with our crappy Internet and old cable system. But, sometimes decisions are made for you, and it was get a new modem or miss a work deadline, so I went with my hubby to make the exchange. The vibe is kind of like walking into a Best Buy/museum. Clean environment, a long table with some screens where you can test out the Xfinity options while you wait, a giant TV, comfy seating, and a number system...that makes no sense at all...but they called ours pretty quick. To be honest I dreaded the experience, expecting long DMV lines, grumpy customers, chaos, and crappy customer service. I witnessed quite the opposite. Aside from a few interesting characters who wanted to chat it up, we waited only 15 minutes or so, and I witnessed friendly customer service at all the stations. Daphny called our number. She was a great listener and handled each request one at a time and thoroughly. We were also able to knock off about $40 in the end by killing some of the services we weren't using. My experience was exactly what I didn't expect, and all I could hope for. Your company is absolutely awful! On 1/17 I made a $200 payment towards my account and on 1/18 I called and explained my situation and asked that my 1/19 payment plan be changed. The agent I talked to said she understood and would change my payment plan for the rest of what I owed would be changed to 2/19 (February 19th). Today I get an email from you that you have fraudulently taken $445 out of my account! I called your customer service and explained the situation and I have also alerted the fraud department of my bank. the payment hasn't posted yet and your company has to drop the charges so I can get my money back. This is the seventh time your company has made a huge mistake in regards to my account. I'm a single mother who doesn't get child support, I put myself through school, and I work two jobs. If I don't get this money back your company will be the reason why my daughter and I are homeless. You're company steals from people. It's absolutely asinine that your employee made this mistake and my daughter will have to pay the consequences by being homeless. I have the authorization number, reference number, and employee name and ID to the supervisor I spoke to. How dare you put me in this crisis. It's also asinine that your company cannot send me an email explaining this situation so I can show it to my landlord. Many people, like me, despise Comcast but only have you out of default. This is literally the worst experience I have had with customer service. I waited for two and half hours on Christmas Eve for them to port my number. It was unsuccessful. I emailed the managers so I could get an update and neither of them responded. I am still waiting for them to update me on when I will have service and it has been five days. When it was finally my turn, the customer service representative gave me a hard time about cancelling service, even though I clearly explained I was moving and Comcast was not available at my new address. I hate coming here, and the wait times are usually between 25-40 minutes. It's better than spending hours on the phone talking to a technician and not getting anywhere. Can I give "0" stars? Guess not. I visited this store on Sunday Nov 6 to return two cable tv boxes. I know I could have dropped them at UPS store but I was going to be near the store and I figured it would be safer. I've had issues in the past when I ret'd a modem through UPS and supposedly never received. In any case, the two men at the door (wish I knew their names) told me there were six folks ahead of me and the wait was approximately 30 minutes. Told me if I wanted a receipt I'd have to wait my turn. After thirty minutes no one's name was called and it just got busier and busier. Other customers were just dropping their equipment off and leaving so I asked if I could do the same. I was told I could but the receipt would be texted to me later. I thought to take pictures of the boxes but was yelled at and told no pictures allowed in the store. I said the boxes were still on my account and I went in to take pictures of my equipment and left. Here I am 5 days later. No text receipt received and my Xfinity account shows I only returned one box. I've had to call Xfinity several times and spent hours waiting to speak to a competent representative. There's still a few out there. I fear this will not get resolved and I will be charged whatever the cost for this equipment. Whatever you do DO NOT trust the staff at this store! Don't entrust them with your equipment without a receipt. Read other reviews. They're not kidding. I am so fed up with Xfinity. They were not helpful. I dropped of another box at the store because they cannot get all the connections in my home to work. The store staff were not concerned with correcting my internet and tv issues. Just return the box, buy new stuff or sign up for more services. Xfinity sent 5 techs out since I moved into my place in May 2020. Each tech refuses to follow the notes in the system and build upon what the previous tech completed. I recognize COVID-19 complicates things. All the more reason to build upon the work already completed - in person and remotely. I should have switched companies when I moved. A female worker was rolling her eyes and giving me attitude about refusing a bundle deal. Then told me I couldn't be helped because I had to drag my sick mother to make a decision. I said I didn't need the service, ans was persuaded to keep it at $8 per month in case in future I could come back for the service. after half year, they silently resume charges to $56/month without any type of notification, email, text, phone calls, not at all. it was three month later I found out this on my credit card and called customer service. they said the fine print on the contract says... I said I should have got notification for this charges... they agreed to refund me for one month. Then you go to pick up the cable box, have to wait for it by the way, and when you get to the counter they tell you you get standard definition box, not HD! Unless you pay an extra $10 per month! And when I tell them I don't even want it and that they can keep the box and I'll keep the internet they tell me they will put me on the higher rate plan if I don't at least take the box with me and go home. The location has plenty of parking, the buildout is beautiful and there are a ton of well dressed employees here. Too bad they still work for Comcast and provide horrible customer service. I came here to replace an old DVR and was told " We'll hook you up with all new equipment!" I didn't unwrap the package until I got home. Not only was the 'new' DVR an older model than I brought in, it was filthy, scratched up and dented. I drove all the way back only to be berated by the employee and his supervisor (Toni) who advised me that ALL of Comcast's equipment is refurbished and that if it works, I should be happy with the piece of garbage they gave me. Lovely. We all know how trying to deal with Comcast on the phone goes, so I won't even get into that. Comcast has a monopoly and they know it. Worst of the worst.....Comcast is just atrocious. I'll break it down in one small example so you guys can understand what you'll be dealing with. Called 3 times and sent an email. On the fourth time I was dealing with some rude as bish, and asked for a discount since I hadn't been receiving the services I was promised. She asked me why I hadn't told them about it.....which I responded I had, and asked if she had any record of me contacting them. Well you never paid/scheduled an appointment for a technician..... Why should I pay for a technician when this is the first month of service and I was told over the phone there were steps corporate could take to expand bandwidth?? Ok, well talk to my supervisor. Ok... We will give you 3 days off your bill!!!!!!!! Oh, and we'll waive the "penalty" we've assessed you for not returning our router that we ADMIT YOU ASKED US NOT TO SEND back quickly enough. I mean this is literally how low Comcast has gone......I should complain to the BBB. I was so impressed by the service I received at the Xfinity store in Morton Grove. The manager Adam went above and beyond to make sure service was set up on all my devices. He responded to my emails promptly. If you are looking to change over your services I highly recommend that you visit this Xfinity store in Morton Grove. I truly have never been treated better from any cellular company. I did have one situation which was on my end. Adam responded right away and although he wasn't at the store his asst mgr Matthew greeted me at the door and resolved my problem. I suggest that even if you have to drive a little further it will be well worth your while to visit this xfinity store. Kudos to Xfinity for recognizing individuals with genuine people skills. It truly does make a difference. As a side note: I was a Verizon customer for over 18 years and never appreciated as I was this week when I switched to Xfinity. Thanks, Adam! read more

Update: Corporate took my online complaint form very seriously! They called me and I talked through my issues, many of which were beyond the issues with the store. They understood my problem with their hardware return policy and I still WOULD NOT return anything to this store. In fact their recommendation was to drop off any future hardware returns / exchanges via UPS. So Comcast, outside of the store, was very responsive to my other problems and resolved them in a very good way. read more

Had an awful experience with Sheila, one of the reps here. I had gone in wanting just Internet. We talked to Sheila, who said she could get us a bundled discount if I added tv and HBO. Great, sure, I have a $15 HD antenna and get the same channels, but can't argue if I'm getting a deal on the price. I asked about HD, and she said $10 a month extra. Once again, not really needing cable because we have a high def antenna, this was a deal breaker. I said no thanks, I'd go to WOW (who has cheaper service), before she said I'll add HD for free for a year. Okay, once again, great! She signed us up, sent me home with an HD box, and I find a few days later when I hook it up that it doesn't work. Thinking the box is broken, I take it back, only to find out it didn't work because I don't have an HD package. I think to myself now that's weird, told my story, and the new rep said Sheila must have made a mistake. I'm not sure what kind of mistake involves lying about the services I would receive. She managed to lie about a promo code and then send me home with a non functional box.The rep also said i could either get HD for extra or go home with a standard definition box. So here I am, roped into a cable package because of a lie from Sheila, only to be told I would either need to pay extra for this service or go back down a peg in service even though I could get higher quality channels from my antenna. I don't want this package, but according to Comcast I'm stuck with it. The manager Emilio is looking into it for me, but I'm fairly sure in a typical Comcast fashion it won't be resolved. This review was originally posted in September, under the wrong Comcast location, so I decided to remove it and put it under the correct location. Not that it makes a difference in the horrible service that defines Comcast. Truthfully, we had never had a problem with Comcast until we signed up for Vonage back in May. Instantaneously, our internet service would go down 2-3 times a day, meaning we had to refresh the internet connection 2-3 times a day. We'd be on the phone and service would drop because the internet was down. The other person could hear us but we couldn't hear them, like the call had simply dropped. If we tried making a call and the internet was down, we'd get a recording from Vonage telling us they couldn't make the connection. Obviously, this indicated the problem wasn't Vonage, since the phone was working...it was Comcast that was screwed up so the calls can't get through. We called Comcast in on six separate occasions to fix the problem. Mind you, these are the six service calls on record that went through Comcast's 800#. Finally, the last lineman who came to our house,(Oswaldo) gave us his personal cell phone #, telling us to call him directly when the internet was down...he said don't even bother calling Comcast! Just call him and he would come to the house. And he did, at all hours. So I'll give him that much, he really did try to help us but couldn't. So, six official visits and six unofficial visits is 12 visits in four months. And Comcast still couldn't fix the problem. I estimate that we had service...where the internet was up and running...for three weeks of those five months. We finally had it. My husband can't run his business without the internet and a phone, clients don't like it when the phone drops, they decide to call someone else. Our accountant does the books for the business remotely but he can't do it if there is no internet or if the internet goes down while he is working on the books. In addition, my husband loses $100 for each hour he has to stay home waiting for these guys to show up. THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR HEADACHE! We now have AT&T, everything works perfectly! A dream! We have a life again! We have...get this...internet AND phone service!!! It's a miracle! Why can AT&T get it right but Comcast bumbles along for five effin' months??????????????? Of course, we complained to Comcast once again, demanding a refund for the last five months . We were transferred a minimum of 7 times this morning! Comcast will not give a refund, only a credit! I don't want your credit! You suck! Your service is a joke! I paid for a service that you are unable to provide! WHY SHOULD I PAY YOU IF YOU CANNOT ENSURE INTERNET CONNECTIVITY WHEN I NEED IT? HERE, I WILL OFFER YOU A PARALLEL...WOULD YOU DRIVE A CAR THAT BROKE DOWN THREE TIMES A DAY? WOULDN'T YOU DEMAND THE PROBLEM BE FIXED? THIS IS ALL WE WANTED, IS FOR THE PROBLEM TO BE FIXED! YOU COULDN'T DO IT YET YOU STILL TOOK OUR MONEY. Ok, finally after an hour on the phone, we were offered a refund for two months, even though we didn't have full service for five months. See, Comcast tells us that we had to be completely without service for 5 months. The internet was up for about a month out of five...that to me isn't service. **UPDATE*** Comcast agreed to a two month refund rather than the refund for the five months we were without service. We took it because two months is better than nothing, and our time is too valuable to waste on the phone with these people. read more

I went there to switch/renew my internet plan. I made it clear that I'm interested in internet only, no cable no mobile services. The guy that was supposed to be helping me kept pushing to have me switch my mobile service provider in order to get a better internet deal. When I said no because I was happy with my current provider he refused to help me with my internet plan. I told him I needed to stay on the same plan I have right now and the answer was "I can't help you with that since I can offer you a better deal if you switch your mobile services" the guy was rude, not helpful and didn't seem to care what I wanted. My pupils have scanned my Comcast paperwork several times to ensure that I have the correct address, so on good faith, I am going to forge ahead and rave about the Comcast service I have received, at least in the Arlington Heights, IL area (minutes from Mt. Prospect). Having been hit over the head more times than I would like to recall, with "Kill Your TV" bumper stickers while at red lights over the past several years, I actually took a good few minutes, before pressing the "send' button, in order to contact Kathy, the Comcast contact within my new townhome community. Kathy was awesome!! Once a final date of installation was determined, I received 2 confirmation calls for installation at the new place. Kathy had set up the service a week prior to my arrival, while on a call to another customer in the area, so all I was in need of, was the cable wire and a "hit," from the corporate office, to make things official. I spent way too long with Karin Williams trying to figure out a way to exchange a box that did not work and to get any ideas for lowering my $350+ monthly bill. She cancelled a box that is working well in my basement instead of the box I returned, so I had to replace that box because, after an hour or 2 on the phone begging them to turn it back on, I realized that once a box is terminated, it is dead forever. Then, I could save a little money trading my 2 DVRS for a new X1 and partner box. I said I tried that before but the installer could not work on a wall mounted TV...she assured me that that was a contractor and not an "in house" installer. Even Xfinity staff cannot touch a wall TV...so I went from having 2 working DVRS no NONE and the replacement box in the basement only gets 2, 5, 7 9 and 11. For $350/mo...I I don't want to call to complain because I will waste another 2 hours of my life for nothing. read more

I've visited this place because Comcast was unable to connect me to the Internet without me visiting their office in person. While the company itself is quite controversial at best, the staff in this place is really nice and helpful. I was serviced quickly and professionally. The office itself is nicely organized. The main downside is that it's in the middle of nowhere so it takes a long time to get to. read more
