I was moving from one apartment to another so Xfinity told me to come in and drop off my old equipment and pick up my new equipment. I did, but it turned out my new equipment did not work, thus I had to go back to the store for a second time. This time they gave me another new modem, but did not give me the power cord. Resulting in me returning a third time to pick that up. This second new piece of equipment did not work, causing me to come back for a fourth time. The fourth time they said they had no more modems at the store and made me drive to the next closest Xfinity store where I was finally able to retrieve a modem that worked. I had to visit an Xfinity store five times in two days just to transfer my address. Safe to say I will remember this next time I am selecting an internet provider. read more

I had been an Xfinity customer for several years. After I moved, the screwing up started. They charged me a bunch of fees for moving from one address to another. I had a home phone landline bundled to my internet service. They took my promotion away, raised the rate for landline connection, and screwing continued. I am qualified for their Internet Essential rate, they refused to do the Internet Essential connection, coming up with one idiotic excuse after another. They said only option is Prepaid internet services. I said O.K. then they gave me a defective modem, spent 340 minutes of cell phone time with some of the most incompetent technician I have ever encountered, and not one single one of them admitted my prepaid modem was defective(bad password error message), refused a merchandise return authorization, never connected to internet with their modem again, and forced me to file a dispute with my bank to pull the funds from their account. I have screen shot when their customer service hung up on me in middle of chat session. I have enough documents to file an official complaint against Comcast with FTC. Good riddance and good bye Xfinity into infinity. read more

I am 100 percent done with Comcast/Xfinity. I recently moved and Comcast offered the cheapest deal, which I am always after. I called to set up but they said the location was blocked because previous tenant had an outstanding bill, so I had to go into a store to prove that I wasn't the old person. So after driving down there, waiting for an available associate and providing the proof, which took well over an hour and half, I was told I had to wait at least three days for the block to be removed. Since I rely on the Internet for work and school, this already bugged me, but I let it slide. The time passed and I called in to get the service set up. Halfway through the call I was disconnected for no apparent reason. I waited hopefully for a call back so I wouldn't have to start over. Nothing. The next day I went back into this location and explained the situation to the associate. I was told the deal that I had tried to sign up for previously had expired. They did nothing to work with me and were incredibly rude, blaming me for the hassle. I immediately walked out, drove to AT&T and signed up for service with them in a jif. I'll gladly pay a few extra dollars for quality customer service. FYI I tried to utilize a smaller ISP, but nothing was available yet in my neighborhood that suited my needs and budget. But I am glad Comcast/Xfinity is starting to see more competition. They'll either have to change their poor customer service habits or watch their numbers fall. read more

Not just about this completely awful location (staff), but even having to interface with Xfinity Mobile Helpdesk on an issue that NEVER should have happened. The people working at this store are unprofessional and woefully uneducated about their own products. The Xfinity Mobile "helpdesk" passed me off to FOUR different people just to get my voicemail activated. Hours and hours spent in the store and on the phone. Seems like every single Xfinity employee is completely clueless. If every new customer experienced what I did, I have no idea how this company stays in business. They were all busy texting and having social conversations with each other and refused to service the clients in the store. they kept refusing to give us a receipt for the equipment. We took our stuff else where to UPS and we were in and out in 3 minutes. I have never been more embarrassed and taken advantage of in a store before. Hold the phone, this is not your typical Comcast with what looks like bullet proof glass and lack of customer service. I came in on Sat Morning to exchange my DVR. This new Ashland store was beyond what I expected! All and I mean all the staff, even the Lebron James fan, was so friendly, efficient and provided great service. I was in and out in less than 30 min. I even put extra time on my meter thinking it would take forever like the old Jefferson Park location. However I'll have to wait a few months to break even despite the first clerk I saw trying to help me by telling me to not park in the lot next to them. I admit didn't read the sign closely enough but when you see a large xfinity parking sign next to their store sign one assumes they're in the right place. Sadly the lot is not theirs and but a honeypot for Innovative Parking Solutions. Troubleshooting internet is no fun. Heck, anything relating to internet is no fun. But I came here, and they completely turned my experience around. A prior phone set-up experience made me want to swear off internet altogether. I cancelled my account after more than ten different phone calls trying to fix things. I tried competitors and realized pricing was even worse. Then I came here. Setting up my new account took 15 minutes rather than an hour. It was simple and straight-forward -- no trying to up-sell or trick me. And honestly, it was overall a breath of fresh air compared to my harrowing phone call customer service experiences. I was actually pleasantly surprised by my experience here today. Granted, all I was there for was to return a router Comcast sent me even though I told them I had my own when setting up my internet. But the gentleman that helped me was very friendly and polite. Customer service both in the 2 Chicagoland stores on the north side of the city is non existant, let alone with dealing work the idoits on the phone. They don't follow thru and ALWAYS miss information and you have to continually call them. I had a great experience at this store today. I was greeted by Shellondra (I may be misspelling her name) and she was super friendly and very accommodating. There was a slight wait to be assisted, but not too long, which is expected. I was then helped by Henry who was also awesome! He helped me bundle my internet and mobile account together and I'm saving so much on my monthly payments. He was really sociable and really helped me through all of my questions and concerns. Overall, great staff at this location and excellent customer service. Henry and Shellondra are awesome! I highly recommend coming to this store if you're looking to switch cell phone carriers or if you're switching your wifi/cable company. read more

Worst establishment ever. I pulled into the lot thinking this was the xfinity parking lot. My mistake. It looked like there was an undercover police arrest going on. There was a huge dude in a bullet proof vest and another officer in the lot. I was obviously curious about what was going on. I got out of my car very distracted. I pulled out my xfinity boxes and the "cops" looked at me in the eyes multiple times. They were ten feet away from me. I nodded my head in acknowledgement. They nodded at me. I dropped off my equipment and was back in 5 minutes. When i returned to my car The big dude came at me very aggressively and told me my car was booted. $170. He said "can't you read" and pointed at some signs which i hadn't seen when I thought there was a undercover sting going on. $170 dollars. I went into the bank and the front desk lady started to smirk and smile and the security officer approached me when he heard what I was talking about. This obviously happens all the time. And they think it's a joke. Glad to pay their mortgage. I will never use this bank and I will bad mouth them forever. Predatory practices. The worst. Thanks for ruining my week. My roommates and I have had multiple internet issues since we moved in in September and have yet to have them fixed. Not to mention, we were promised two free months of internet because of our horrible experience and were STILL charged for both months. No one will refund us. After 35 painful minutes on the phone with xfinity customer service, I was told I should swap out my Modem. Luckily, there was a xfinity story only 15 min away. Thanks to traffic, it took too long and I showed up at the xfinity store at 7:01. There were customers inside being helped but doors were locked. The other 2 employees first ignored me and then they waved me off. A modem swap takes a couple of minutes. They could have decided to take the 3 minutes to do the swap in the interest of good customer service which would have easily earned them a 5 star review. This is a review on Xfinity-Comcast as a whole, not of this specific location. I had Comcast for 6+ years in three different apartments before I got fed up and cancelled, switching to RCN. Every year, my bill jumped up by $20 or more. And every year, I called and had to resign a contract. In 2019, I asked to go month to month at the rate that I have been paying for 5 years and was told I can't. I reluctantly signed another year contract. When my bill shot up by $20 in 2020, I called again and spoke with their customer support and told them I wanted to go month to month at the rate I've been paying because I'm sick of having to add packages of things I don't want just to get internet. Over these past 6 years, I've been sent and had to return no less than 4 cable boxes because of their useless packages, forcing us to sign up for cable when we didn't want it, then returning the cable box when that promo is no longer available the next year, then getting a new cable box a year after that when the bundle I was forced into was discontinued and now they have a new bundle that includes cable so we have to accept responsibility for another cable box to keep track of for the next year because certainly the next time we call, the package we're locked into isnt going to be available so we'll need to return the cable box when we are forced into a different bundle we don't want. The last time, I didnt even hook the cable box up. I just kept it in a box in our closet in order to get a cheaper rate on internet. The agent was friendly, told me it wouldn't be a problem, that I can piecemeal internet at a specific speed for the price I've been paying and I wouldn't have to sign another contract. Perfect. That's all I want. Fast forward to last month, my bill jumped another $20, I called to check on the reasoning and I was told my promotional period had ended and needed to sign another contract. Confused, I told them that that couldn't be true because I never signed a contract to begin with. They informed me that if I had checked my bill, it states that I was locked into a contract the entire time. We went back and forth for thirty minutes (this was the fourth agent I had spoke to. Total time spent talking with Comcast is close to 2 hours) but given the ultimatum of working with me on making good on what their agent told me last year in allowing me to pay them money for internet access without a contract or having me leave Comcast after 6 years for their competitor, they chose the latter. RCN arrived while I was still on the phone with Comcast to install the new modem. I'm officially switched over and barring a Pompeii-esque tragedy, I'll never return to Comcast. There is a reason that the company is reviled by everyone with a pulse. read more
