Enjoyed their Pappy's Spud. Has good bbq brisket and ask for Ranch dressing to top it. Big and tasty!

Service: great service super nice staff. Can't beat that!! Ambiance: this is a small space so seating is limited. She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. One that showed how much she cares about her customers and her business. And our hamburgers were absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Support small businesses like this one, friends! It's a hidden gem where real people work hard and care deeply about what they serve.

The establishment was Rail Road Theme with a train running the rail all around the ceiling of diner. I thought it was cool even at my age. I had the small chicken fried steak with salad and mashpotatoes. I ate it before I realized "NO PHOTOS" Were Taken. So sorry. But it was very tasty ! The ambiance was peaceful, the establishment was clean and everyone was attentive. The price for 3 people to eat was LOW !! Which pleased us. Check them out next time your in Cleburne or just looking for a good place to dine. They have been around since 1920.. that says alot ! Check them out, do a review so I can hear your comments. oh-emm-gee.. this wasn't just bad.. this was like, "we're going to talk about this for years to…read morecome"-awful.. my wife's food was unidentifiable as being the dish she ordered, the owner or manager or whatever came over to argue with her about it when she sent it back. Then he told us it was the waitress's fault. My meal was only just terrible, but i could identify kind of what it was supposed to be, and i could clearly recognize the french fries. A couple at another table had chicken and waffles with way undercooked chicken.. Too bad, i wanted to like this place. I really like old school mom & pop diners a lot more than just another chain, and this place has the vibe i was after. I just should have brought food from somewhere else.

I rolled into Cotton Patch in Cleburne last Saturday for a long-overdue lunch…read morewith my cousin, and let me tell you--it was exactly what a comfort food pilgrimage should be. This meal was so good, I barely remembered to take a picture before devouring half of it. (The photo evidence will either prove my lack of social media skills or just how ridiculously good this food was. Let's go with the second one.) Now, let's talk about this feast: Chicken Fried Steak--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and smothered in a rich, creamy gravy that could make even the most devoted vegetarian rethink their life choices. Creamy Mashed Potatoes--also generously blanketed in that same glorious gravy, because if you're going to do comfort food, do it right. Green Beans--but not just any green beans, the homemade kind with little bits of bacon that make you feel like someone's grandma made them with love. Dinner Rolls--fluffy, buttery, and downright dangerous. You tell yourself you'll eat one, but then another one magically disappears, and you're left wondering what happened. To top it off, the service was A++. Our waitress was on it--attentive but not hovering, friendly but not fake, and she made sure we had everything we needed while my cousin and I caught up on years of life. And the timing? Perfect. The place was just busy enough to have a good vibe but not so packed that we had to shout across the table. Final verdict: Highly recommend. If you find yourself in Cleburne, go. If you don't find yourself in Cleburne, maybe you should. And yes, I'll be back--probably still forgetting to take a picture until it's too late.
