Hi Everyone! I have been to Carmen's cafe a couple of times since I moved to Godley and I have to say I have been very pleased with every aspect of my visit. To begin with, Carmen herself is just as nice as can be! She is warm, welcoming, and provides great service. The food here is quite good. Excellent breakfast burritos. Great chips and salsa (ask for the hot salsa!) Always a nice lunch special. I have not been there for dinner. The ambiance is quaint and homey. Friendly atmosphere and full of locals. I was in town visiting family and decided to order breakfast instead of driving to the store and making it ourselves. Turned out to be a fabulous idea. When ordering via phone the staff was kind and thorough. The food wasn't ready when I arrived and they made sure I didn't need anything to drink while I waited . We ordered breakfast for 7 of us and we all really enjoyed it. Personally I'm used to breakfast tacos vs burritos but only real difference is the size. This burrito was equivalent to 2 breakfast tacos. It had just the right amount of each ingredient, & the tortillas were homemade , if not homemade they were the best store bought tortillas I've ever had. I also bought a waffle which we shared. It was pretty good, no complaints. The green and red salsas were both delicious. This is a small restaurant in a small town and everything from here was as to be expected! Smaller restaurants seem to take pride in their service and food and Carmen's did both! I will 100% return next time we are in town . read more

How in the world this place ever got a 4 plus rating I will never know. I would say the worst chips ever and the food was equal to a $1.00 TV ce dinner. Again I can not believe people would give this place good ratings. Of course thee is no Ambiance and he service was ok but my gosh the food is flat yuck. You would o want to see photo. read more

Several friends went on an early morning ride and stopped off at Carmen's for breakfast. Small home style cafes are our favorite! This was a no frills place, which was fine as we were there for the food. My husband ordered eggs, bacon, hash brown potatoes, and a side of beans. I ordered the French toast and bacon. We both ordered coffee, which was strong, but good. Husband enjoyed his food, even though the beans had a burnt taste to them. I took a bite and would have sent them back. My French toast was tasty and the bacon was really flavorful. Our friends who ordered the chilaquiles, said their food was "good enough." One said the gravy tasted as if it were from a box. My issue was more from the plastic table covering which kept sticking to our arms and the sight of a few small ants on the table. I know it's hot right now and insects are making their way indoors, but clean table coverings might not be as inviting as a sticky one. Our server was super sweet and gave us plenty of attention. Almost missed this little spot downtown because the Carmens sign on the top is gone. It's a small town cafe kinda place with wood paneling and 4 top tables. Great menu that didn't include breakfast tacos as an option but we asked and yepppp! Ordered guacamole as an appetizer and they make it from scratch. Let me tell ya - might just have been the best I've ever had. Seriously. Breakfast tacos were delish and very decent size. Waitress was sweet but soo swamped and all alone waiting tables and being the cashier for the whole place. Thankfully we were not in a big hurry so happy to wait. I waited tables for a long time so I know it's tough! She rocked it out and took good care of us. I'm Great spot in Godley. read more

Great food! We live in Godley and have never eaten here but on a whim stopped here this morning for breakfast and was glad we did! We both had the breakfast buffet and the food was so good. It wasn't like a traditional buffet where everything is cold, your eggs are made to order, she made us fresh pancakes and brought out piping hot biscuits. The Chilaquiles were the best! Doesn't look like much when you walk past or you come in and see the old torn carpet and the miss matching chairs, also the view to the kitchen makes you wonder when was the last time it was renovated. Once you meet Carmen, all of this concerns go away, especially her food and desire to assist you and make things right promptly. The Lunch buffet is very affordable, food taste is great especially the breakfast items. My favorite is the homemade biscuits with sausage and gravy. We love to come over from Fort Worth just to come to have breakfast with Carmen. read more

Great breakfast @ 5:45 am daily and now open tuesday through saturday at night, nice change for the big town of Godley. Love the street tacos, chips and home made salsa oh and the fajitas are excellent. It may be a hole in the wall but stop in and give it a try you will be glad you did.
