The dish was, of course, quite good but we really miss the version back in the day that included corn and black beans, etc. in the stuffing. That was, in our opinion, so much more robust and flavorful with some additional textures to boot. Yes, I know it costs what, $22 now? But get this, we each got four more meals out of our take-home portions. And I'm not a small person. Old, yeah, but not that small. : ) DNT is well worth the pleasant road trip from up here in NRH. To begin with, Carmen herself is just as nice as can be! She is warm, welcoming, and provides great service. The food here is quite good. Excellent breakfast burritos. Great chips and salsa (ask for the hot salsa!) Always a nice lunch special. I have not been there for dinner. The ambiance is quaint and homey. Friendly atmosphere and full of locals. Only complaint is they could have better soup spoons. Bring your own if you are partial to deeper soup spoons, which is petty in the big picture of it all. My dad is picky as I will get out.
