We have been here before and I do not remember the experience being like it was today. The service was OKAY, nothing to write home about. The white queso looked like a white tinted bowl of oil, I've never in my life turned down any queso and I did today. I had the beef enchiladas and they were great, rice and beans as well. My husband had the enchiladas suiza and said it was very good. The queso really bothered me and I thought that would be the worst part of the visit until I visited the restroom. There were rags and trash crammed in a corner, the floor was disgusting and they had a visible leak under the sink with all cleaning supplies out within reach of children including bleach. Really tasty food, distinctly different from a lot of the cookie cutter taquerias. Their mole has a very nice flavour, with a hint of smokiness, and comes with a unique lime rice. Nice change from the usual. Everything is really fresh and well made, even the presentation on their big plates is nice! Added bonus, had both red and green salsa with the chips, and both mild and spicy versions. Greatly appreciated by the Hop Queen, as spice can tear her stomach up. My son and I went here after finding out most of the Mexican restaurants in Cleburne use lard in there food, yuck. Not only not vegetarian, but very unhealthy. So we ordered the guacamole and they made it at our table, I wish they would add a little garlic and cilantro, but it was good just could be a little better. y son had them make a special order for him which they had no problems with it was a vegetable chimichanga. He loved it. I had the nachos which could use some improvements. They tasted okay, but even though they offered many meat options i felt they lacked in flavor. The meat was not seasoned at all, they added no vegetables to the nachos, so no onions no tomatoes. They just seemed a little bland. We were in town for a university graduation and La Cima was recommended to us. We were glad it was as it was a very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We were greeted and seated and well taken care of during our stay. The three different salsas and chips served before the meal were all very good, and we had to force ourselves to stop eating them to save room for lunch. I had the salmon tacos which were delicious. Adding the creamy green salsa to them was even better. My wife had the avocado enchilada dinner and was pleased although she would have preferred less cheese in them. My son had the spinach enchiladas and he devoured it. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area. read more

Updated review: La Cima has its loyal locals but we have been unimpressed. Our most recent (and now final) visit, we walked in the door and the toilets had overflowed into the main walkway and smelled of feces. They set up a wet floor sign but there didn't seem to be any urgency to resolve the problem and no warning when we walked in the main door that we would be stepping in toilet water. I have had a piece of band-aid in my tacos, seen a mouse run across the floor, and picked hair from my quesadillas. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

We were treated and sat right away on a Friday 3pm. Place is a mix of new and old. They tried to make it fancy but last the lights there's nothing else. The server was very nice and prompt. They bring you 3 different salsas with chips. Food came out super quick. The food tasted good, mar y Tierra says is steak and shrimp but is a whole piece of fajita meat or skirted steak, not an actual big steak, but it was delicious and so soft it melted in my mouth. Beans and veggies were good, not a fan of the rice. Husband ask for spinach enchiladas and they were good too nothing to rave about but enjoyable. read more

Upon arrival, the place looked unkempt, with old kitchen equipment by the entrance with a drive thru which appeared to have been there for quite some time, The menu featured Southwest-style Mexican food. Service was below average--water came without ice, and one dish was forgotten. The waitress admitted they don't make their own tortillas, etc.. We ordered nachos and a chimichanga, thinking they'd be safe choices. The nachos were cold with dry cheese. The chimichanga arrived soggy, topped with watery chili, and filled only with salty, sour-tasting ground beef instead of beef and beans as stated on the menu. We returned it and left to eat elsewhere. Another person in our group didn't like their chicken either. The chips served were broken into small pieces, likely reused from other tables, we did receive a better bowl of chips after complaining. This was the most disgusting Mexican food we have ever experienced. read more

Most of the blinds are missing from the windows and we tried several different table locations to avoid the windshield glare. You couldn't avoid it. I realize in today's PC Universe it is forbidden to use stereotypes. However, considering that the entire staff appeared to be Hispanic, how do you cook bad Mexican food? My wife and I ordered different dishes that were inedible. Hers was cold. The men's restroom was grimy. Keep in mind the kitchen staff uses this same room. I told the waiter the toilet seat was falling off the toilet and he looked at me like I was from Mars. Yes, he spoke English. Perhaps you will have better luck. We won't be back. This place is always good!!! We've been to several of the Mexican places in town, so far this one is the best. More authentic than it is Tex-Mex. The 3 sauces they bring are in small dishes, always need more, but all 3 are really good. Our town is a bit out of the way for most, yet if your out this way, give this one a go. What happened to La Cima?! Been 6 weeks since coming back to my favorite Cleburne Mexican food for years since opening. Had an order to go Chicken Mole enchilada. Had a beer while waiting at bar. NO chips or salsa. Order greatly disappointing. Chips are tasteless and store bought. Thimble full of salsa tasteless. Mole watery and no taste. Minimal, 3 spoon fulls of rice and cup of mediocre charro bean soup, no black beans. Enchilada tortill are tasteless store bought or Sysco. Noticed mgr was gringo cowboy, must be new ownership. What a find.... with YELP's help. Not sure where we wanted to go.... Mexican popped up!! State Health Dept required masks upon entering...... ok. Good deal ! There was quite a crowd. Smelled good. We sat at the bar and were met with a very nice bartender/server. We ordered drinks.... then lunch. We ordered the Brisket tacos with cilantro lime rice and beans. OMG....the flavor was over the top! Even the red & green salsa that was given to us with chips. Very, very flavorful. We don't mind spice... but flavor is important.... they got it right !!! But what the heck.... we are in Texas. Mediocre Mexican food, food was bland - I agree with the previous low star review, queso is extremely bland and was $5, salsas had minimal kick but they did offer 3 kinds, my pastor tacos were charred and had no pineapple, I asked for cheese on my tacos and was charged an additional $2 and another $2.50 for avocados. Also, pretty sure it's illegal to charge a credit card fee in Texas ($1.99) even though we paid with a debit.. giving 2 stars because at least the waiter was attentive but overall not super welcoming. The people were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is just putting lipstick on a pig situation. The ceiling tiles are spray painted black with some nice lighting but overall the ambiance wasn't something to rave about. We get our salsas, enjoy having a variety but none of it had any kick or spice to it. The margarita I ordered was $12 and tasted like juice, no tajin or anything on the rim which I think is way overpriced. We ordered ceviche which had more shredded lettuce than it did fish. The queso wasn't flavorful but whatever it's queso. We get our food and it's just mediocre. The pastor tacos just had no kick to it. Way too much pineapple. My kid got crispy beef tacos and I think I make better tacos than that. We get the bill and I was floored at how much I was paying for with just bland Mexican food (never thought I would say that but here we are). I hated paying so much and not getting any flavor or spice. I feel like I should've just gone to On the Border or somewhere else. It started with the hostess with an attitude because we asked for a booth. It took 20 minutes for chips and salsa, then the enchiladas and charro beans were barely lukewarm. Asked for more chips and salsa - chips came, but no salsa. Horrible service. However, ours was better than the table next to us that waited over an hour for their food. $15 for two lukewarm enchiladas, rice and1/2 a bowl of lukewarm beans. Tried La Cima for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the assorted salsas that came with the chips, especially the avocado/jalapeño one. Had their Cowboy Enchiladas and really liked their fajita meat. I want to just have fajitas next time we go. Cheese enchilada was top notch as well. Service was prompt and personable. Our only concern was that the cleanliness and broken lights in the restrooms left us wondering what shape the kitchen was in. One always wonders if the attention to "clean" carries to all parts of a facility. Hopefully we caught them between cleaning and maintenance cycles and it will be better next time. read more

My family and I came by the other night for a family dinner and margaritas. There were 4 of us and a baby. We order drinks. After waiting almost 20 minutes for the drinks, they bring the wrong drinks, act confused because we ordered something blended, and then say the frozen blended margaritas we ordered weren't going to be served at that time. They told us the machine needed to be refilled with the margarita mix. After the drinks arrive, I notice my margarita is in a pint glass and the other one on the table was not. 1 of our group decided to wait for a flight of margaritas. After yet another 20 minutes, the machine still isn't done. So instead of the flight, they decided to order a different drink that took yet ANOTHER 20 minutes to be brought to the table. To top it all off, we decided to split the bill. Somehow, with the difference of one kids meal and one drink, our bill came out to $82!! When the people we came with ordered the same exact thing and paid $26. I brought my bill up to the owner and asked her to explain. To my surprise she spoke hardly any English and basically told me my bill was correct when there is absolutely no way. This is the same time I find out that the frozen margarita machine was out of service all day and their servers were allowing people to order drinks they knew weren't going to be brought to the table. They were too busy on Snapchat and not being attentive to their tables. If you ask me, the bartender was the best by far. Would give a negative star if I could. read more

This place has the most awesome food! And the waitresses Norma & Sonya are just excellent! So helpful & pleasant but not "in your face" friendly. Their wait staff are always great! We go there generally a couple or three times a week. They have wonderful sauces & chips. Their brisket tacos & enchiladas are fantastic! Truly we just love this place. Not a fan of the country music they occasionally play but hopefully that won't continue. They have very active patio dining too! read more

La Cima is our go to when we don't want to drive to Burleson. There's not another place in Cleburne with better Mexican food! They have tasty margarita flights but be warned their margaritas are stout! They have the best sour cream sauce & chicken enchiladas! Their hot sauce is great, if you prefer something a little hotter they offer a tomatillo sauce. Prices are very reasonable too! read more
