She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. One that showed how much she cares about her customers and her business. And our hamburgers were absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Support small businesses like this one, friends! It's a hidden gem where real people work hard and care deeply about what they serve.

The pastures stayed overnight for breakfast. God taste, not overly sweet, worth the grab.

The other two were different meats but also had barely any in it. For as long as we waited I expected everything to be piping hot, like steam coming out of it when I opened it. It wasn't. It was barely warm so I guess I was waiting for the people ahead of me. Also the burritos we had didn't have that crisp straight off the griddle taste with the tortilla. These tortillas were borderline soggy. The food tastes good but the lack of meat combined with the wait is a deal breaker for me. I won't return.

The list of sides is also there. The R&K offers a cash discount when you pay in cash versus Credit Card, too. We sat where we liked and our energetic server checked in with us as we tried to decide what to order. We ordered the Fried Onion Rings ($6.99) which were hand battered and delicious but I thought maybe a little expensive at a buck a ring. My husband decided on the AYCE Fried Catfish dinner ($15.99) that came with three sides. He chose mashed potatoes, green beans and coleslaw. I ordered a handformed 1/2 lb. hamburger ($9.99) cooked medium. It's possible they may bake their own Buns and for white bread, it was very good. The burgers came with mustard, chopped onion (why? it falls out), a very thin slice of tomato, thin standard pickles and a generous amount of lettuce. I asked for extra pickles, Jalapeños ($1) and bacon ($3.99). Cheese would have been a another dollar. There were just a few skinny Jalapeños and two slender slices of bacon. Once again, $4? They were tasty, nice and crispy, though. All in all, a good burger. But $15. I just wasn't thinking. I had a choice of sides and picked pinto beans. They came in a small bowl and were yummy. My husband's dinner had four excellent fried catfish strips. He finished those and had two more plus all his sides! A regular catfish dinner was $13.49 or $13.99. He enjoyed it all. We took two pieces of pie with us - Buttermilk and toasted coconut. My Buttermilk pie tasted like lemon chess pie which was fine with me. We had parked out front. We then Paid up front and left out front. Nice friendly people!!

So we found the place with Yelp and I am a sucker for small bbq places. We walked in and were greeted as we entered the door by two very nice women. They gave us instructions on how the ordering works and told us the Thursday special. Loaded backed potato. We chose the fillings and the meat. It was the tater, dessert and drink for $15. We had seen the size of the potato already and chose to split it, had it made with fatty brisket, and of course a 1/4 lb of sausage. We took our order up to the window and met the namesake of the restaurant, but by we did not know it then. The options in that simple dish was great. Again, fatty brisket, we did sliced on the side, we actually got both jalepeno and cheese, as well as regular smoked sausage. The sweet tea was great, not too sweet, perfect for my tastes. They insisted on carrying the tray out for us. Epic- the brisket was tender, juicy and perfectly smoked. The bark was great, had a touch of spice on the back end. The sausage was perfect.
