Apparently, a great restaurant has been in Cleburne this whole time and no one told us. We finally made reservations for their Valentine's menu and were impressed from the start. Jimmie's is tucked just a few blocks from the historic courthouse. It's small and intimate, perfect for a date night, and seating is limited so plan ahead. The four-course meal was excellent. The crab cake with lemon butter sauce was outstanding. I'm not a seafood guy, but this one changed my mind. Melt-in-your-mouth good. The beef filet, ordered medium rare, was perfectly cooked and fork tender. The mashed potatoes were clearly not an afterthought. Heavy cream was involved. Probably some cheese. No complaints there. Jimmie stopped by our table during the meal, and we learned they were celebrating their 7th anniversary. It's not every day the chef checks on your table. That says something. We finished with cheesecake, rich and creamy, with several topping options. The only thing I would have added was a cup of coffee to go with it. Expect fine dining prices, but the quality matches it. This isn't an every-weekend place, but for a special occasion, Jimmie's is a great choice. We left full, impressed, and already planning to return. read more

I'm not a big review guy but I had to talk about how great this place was. Me and my buddy were looking for something local that served a good steak. Most people we talked to said go to Chili's but we wanted something better. The food was outstanding, we knew we were in for treat when the stuffed portabello appetizer came out. Insanely tasty. Every food item was delicious, the steak, sides, and the wine. Also Jimmie and his wife were lovely people and went out of their way to make sure everything was great for us. Visited Jimmie's for the first time tonight and it won't be our last visit! The place is beautiful and intimate but not cramped at all. Lady Vi was our waitress and she was a joy- Informative, bubbly, kind! The food was simple but in the best ways possible- the flavors were out of this world, everything cooked to perfection, nothing over done, everything on the plate had a purpose and yes get the truffle butter on your steak! The broccolini was incredible and I don't like broccoli, wish I had ordered that as my veggie! Our party of 4 had a great time, Jimmie is a wonderful chef and host, so glad we got the chance to tell him directly how blown away we were! Jimmie's came up when I did a search for breakfast restaurants. After being seated I was told there was no menu, I would have to go to their Facebook page to see what the "limited " menu had to offer. I then asked for coffee and was told in a very matter of fact tone "we don't serve coffee ". I left. read more

We came in late and they were gracious enough to still feed us. Food was great. I had the berry salad with chicken and ate every bit. The rest of our party had the filet with grilled broccoli, trout with grilled squash. The strawberry cake topped off a very pleasant meal. Fate had us change our original plans due to a "private party" at a different restaurant in Cleburne Friday night. We ended up finding Jimmie's and got Rock Star parking right in front of the door. We were uncertain initially, but ventured into Jimmie's restaurant. A lovely young lady greeted us after taking care of drinks for other guests. I got to sit in one of the church pews along the wall. It was a little low, but I grabbed a pillow to feel at table-level. No tap beers, but I had a great Bock beer from FTW. I had the menu from Yelp pulled up, but was told to use the one from Facebook because they change it up seasonally. We ordered up the Stuffed Portabella. The shroom was piled high with sautéed spinach and a crab cake. Very yummy and I recommend it. Wife debated between Stuffed Salmon & the Beef Filet. I reminded her we are in Beef country and the young lady says steaks are Jimmie's specialities. She went with the Filet and Brussel Sprouts. I chose the boneless Mango Ribeye with Mac/Cheese. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides graced the meal well. Jimmie came out of the kitchen to check we enjoyed our meal. He is self-taught 20 years of cooking. OH MY GOODNESS PEOPLE!! This is the place you want to eat!! My husband & I lived in Cleburne for almost 30 years & moved down south 6 years ago. We are traveling back up this direction to celebrate our 35th anniversary & saw the post about "steak night" & decided to try them out. Not only is this the coolest decorated place I've been to in a really long time but the food was amazing. From the appetizer - fresh cut zucchini fries with a spiced remoulade sauce - to the choice of 2 grilled steaks - 16 oz bone in strip or a 20 oz bone in T-bone - to the grilled pound cake with fresh fruit. You don't fine this kind of food outside of a huge metroplex people - and it was amazing!! read more

Mediocre ambience. Premium prices for uncreative dishes. They'll take the time to post their menu to Facebook each week but won't simply print it out in consideration of their paying guests. Pretentious atmosphere in which your server is your "menu". This leads to awkward interactions and inefficiencies. No draft beer, no iced tea, or even lemon wedges for your water. Fabulous food! I've been there many times and have never been disappointed in a meal. Jimmie is the chef and specializes in meat, but his salads and vegetables are mouth watering too. I am always too full for dessert. It is housed in a vintage downtown building and the atmosphere is casual, but the food is great and the staff is friendly. read more

Was told about this place by a friend .Actually saw a picture that peeked my interest. Baked potato with steak and shrimp .. as I don't eat seafood ( I know what's wrong with me) just had it with the steak. I love baked potatoes but usually they all need a little seasoning. After reading reviews we were underwhelmed. Service very slow. No one seemed to be in any hurry. Every question required a consult with someone else which made everything even slower. There was a very limited menu which was only accessible through Facebook and there wasn't a price in sight. No bread or crackers served with meal. Our first time here so we decided to get there right at 5pm on a Friday night. Amanda was the one and only server, wine specialist, and hostess. No printed menu but she knew wines in detail as well as the menu for the evening. We LOVED the fried rib appetizer! Ordered the t-bone steak with side of broccoli and mac and cheese as well as the white wine pasta with portebella mushroom. Everything was delicious and was very impressed how Amanda was handling the entire room. Very cool atmosphere like we were in an alley way with paintings and pipes above our heads. Music was very retro like Frank Sinatra tunes and one was able to talk comfortably. The desserts are prepared fresh daily like the coconut cake and lemon blueberry cake. Lastly, the owner comes to each table to check to see that things are good for every guest. Will be bringing friends next time. Very nice experience. We had had a chance to try Jimmies for lunch today. The Squash fries were delicious and served with a spicy dipping sauce. I tried the chicken and veggies my husband had the Jalapeno BLT. Both of our meals were great and the fries were like momma makes at home,but better with special seasonings! The atmosphere was great with music, cool art and friendly staff.
