Hi Everyone, I've been to this Grumps in Cleburne a couple of times over the past month or so. I have to say they have very good, definitely five star, burgers! I've had both the bacon cheeseburger, and most recently the chili burger. Both were yummy! As a side, I have had both the onion rings and the sweet potato fries. This is where Grump's five star review took a slide downward fast! The onion rings were decent but very expensive. Plus, I got only six in the little paper basket. My sweet potato fries were also expensive, slight on the quantity for the price, and mine showed up cold! My advice, save your money and don't order a side! The service is good. Friendly. It takes a bit to get your food. So plan ahead. You don't come to Grumps for ambiance. It is clean but nothing fancy. You definitely come for the burgers. I wish I could have given Grumps five stars. Finally decided to try Grumps Burgers yesterday. The reviews are extremely positive so my expectations were very high. Waiting 15 minutes for my burger was a good sign. I would rather wait for a freshly cooked burger than the alternatives. While waiting, I helped myself to some peanuts and watched some NFL news on TV. My Jalapeño cheeseburger and fries were brought out to the table nice and hot. I tried the cheeseburger as ordered without condiments to taste the burger. One of the best for sure. I decided to add the jalapeño ketchup to my Jalapeño cheeseburger and it was delicious. Pricey but worth the wait for a quality burger meal. We stopped here for lunch based on all the hype we had read about it. This place has made all the lists - from Texas Monthly Top 50 Burgers to the local awards. Grumps did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly and friendly, Texas-style - as it always used to be. The ordering process was fast and efficient and, as the burgers are made to order and fresh, there is plenty of time to get your drinks and find a table (fingers crossed). When the food comes out to your table, it comes out hot and fresh. You are even offered additional condiments such as their in-house jalapeño ketchup, which I highly recommend. We had the double cheeseburgers with onion rings and their famous corn nuggets. All of the food was delicious and as tasty as we could have hoped for. The ambiance here is pure small town Texas, and the hospitality is top notch. We can't wait to come back for another visit soon! read more

On a recent road trip, while taking back roads (aka the scenic route), I became hangry. We stopped at one place, and the menu just looked ...meh. We searched for restaurants and saw Grumps Burgers, and my husband thought we should try it to see if it would solve my grumps. Lol. Grumps has a walk up counter, but they get your name and bring the food to you. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Thick, juicy, tasty, and done but not overdone. It was crowded - a good sign - so when a group left, we swooped in on the table which happened to be next to a group of State Troupers - usually a good sign. They offered shelled peanuts to eat while you wait and a bucket for the shells. There were lots of local school support posters and such and they served Blue Bell Ice Cream (not free). IYKYK. I wish we'd get a Grumps closer to home. I'm getting tired of smash burgers. My only complaint is there was no gluten free option other than leaving off the bun, and I chose to eat a bun today and pay for it tomorrow. read more

I love the homemade chips, and also the fries. Their soft drinks are great, especially the root beer!!! It is often busy, with a little wait to get the food, but it is FRESH!!!! And HOT!!!!! Oh!!!! Firstly, the burgers were 10/10! They have a very tangy mustard and with the jalapeño ketchup, thats homemade i believe, it's just a mouthful of flavor. The buns are plump and the patties are perfectly seasoned and juicy. Our server, Tay, was amazing. She knew what she was doing and it shows. The scenery is very similar to an old school diner with peanut buckets and ketchup bottles. They also have school tables in some rooms. The queso was also very good. A little pricey but it comes with what i believe is sausage and tomatoes and is similar to rotel. It comes with homemade potato chips which i thought werent gonna go with the queso as queso usually comes with tortilla chips but i was plesantly surprised. 5/5 no doubt! If they make a restaurant in Dallas i bet you theyll make money like never imagined. The burgers really remind me of Juicys in Longview TX. read more

Me and my boyfriend got back from a long bike ride from Burleson and wanted to stop to get food before getting home. We ordered it to go and waited about 40 minutes before asking a waitress about it, she said she would check it for us. She came back probably five minutes later and said it would be ready in five minutes. After a few more minutes of waiting she came back and asked what our order was, holding receipts in her hand. None of them were ours. She went back to the kitchen and returned a few minutes later explaining that there must have been a mix up in the orders and she thinks they accidentally gave our food to someone else, but that they are remaking it now. She apologized and said if we wanted a refund or anything she would bring over her manager. We got our food shortly after that. The waitress was the sweetest person, absolutely no complaints. However we were the only people in there seated without food (and noticeable too, since we had our helmets on the table), yet no one came to check on us or ask us if we needed anything. Especially after the wait, the manager herself/himself should have came out and apologized since it was their mistake, not this waitress'. Once we got home, half of our food was deconstructed. my burger was supposed to have mayo, tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles on it but it was simply a cheeseburger with lettuce and pickles in a cup next to it. i didn't even get tomatoes, and they gave me a mayo packet on the side. my boyfriends food was supposed to be a bbq bacon cheeseburger with the same toppings which were also on the side and a small cup of bbq sauce on the side as well. also not to mention our burgers were mixed up with the side of fries (he got my burger with his sweet potato fries and i got his burger with my regular fries). after all the hassle and wait time, they couldn't even manage to apologize correctly (the manager, not the waitress) and it just seemed inconsiderate at that point. mind you, his burger was about $9, mine was $8, and our fries were about $6 each. so in total we spent about $30 for this. read more

The reviews were really good - so relying on my fellow Yelpers! Loved the decor when I walked inside. The first thing that got my attention was their salute to our Veterans and Armed Forces ! The menu was easy to read and didn't realize they serve beer ! Very nice fella took my order and pleasantly surprised that I only paid $13 for a double cheeseburger and onions rings. So they bring it to your table and ask if you need anything else. Wow! That Double Mushroom Swiss burger was huge. Not a big order of onion rings at $4 but hoping they're worth it. I have been to all locations because they are so good! My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger add jalapeños and the chips. Not only is the ranch homemade but putting a chip in it is better than you can imagine. Oh and the beer - ohh the cold beer - it's the icing on the best cake you have ever had. We waited in line for 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon so expectations were high and we were hungry. My cheese burger was WAY too salty and raw in the middle. Showed the waitress and she fixed it very promptly. The second one cooked right but also way over seasoned. According to reviews and awards on the walls they had a good thing going till about 2018. Not sure what happened. They advertise franchising but who knows? We shared an order of fries. They were respectable.
