My husband and I stopped by this small, locally owned hamburger place on a rainy afternoon. The owner wasn't there at first, and a woman who was helping run things greeted us and took our order. She was very direct and told us upfront it would be about a 20-minute wait, which I appreciated. While we waited, I sat in the car listening to the thunder and rain. There was something peaceful and simple about that moment and I loved it. My husband stayed inside to wait for the food. During that time, a couple came back in upset about the wait and asked for their money back. The owner had just returned from a family event and was clearly trying her best to make things right. Even when the couple was rude, she handled it with grace and empathy, saying, "I'm sad that we failed you." It was such a human moment. One that showed how much she cares about her customers and her business. And our hamburgers were absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the wait. I enjoyed everything about this experience. Support small businesses like this one, friends! It's a hidden gem where real people work hard and care deeply about what they serve. read more

Sometimes we find ourselves in places that seem like a time warp and such was the case when I entered into Morris Neal for a burger today. Think old-fashioned burger stand from many yesteryears. I doubt there has been many updates on the 93 years since this place began. The place had a vintage diner kind of ambiance to it. These folks have been slapping burgers in front of folks since 1932. So if my math adds up, that is 93 years of burgers and fries from these guys. Knowing that fact, I had to give them a try! After walking in, I approached the counter. The person who took our order was friendly and super efficient. She was helpful in explaining how things worked to these two first-timers. Walking away from the counterfeit , I in in had gone full steam ahead having ordered a Chili-Cheeseburger and Fries. I was taken aback when the counter person informed us it might be about 20 minutes but I went with it as they were busy. It took all of 20 minutes to get our order, but let me tell you, the wait was worth every second. This burger is not being over-hyped, it's amazing! read more

Lunch in Cleburne Tx. Got the double cheeseburger without the bun and sweet potato fries. You order at a counter like a fast food joint. The inside seating is pretty limited so we sat outside. It was pretty hot outside but we had no other option. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Took a bit for our food to come out but it was 11:40 am and it was full inside. Burger was very good as was the sweet potato fries. Plastic baskets reminiscent of DQ, plastic utensils and drinks in cans. Were it not for the heat I would have easily eaten the whole thing but it was too hot and humid to have much of an appetite. Portion size was good and I enjoyed my lunch read more

Fresh made burger! This is a great burger, the place is small but serves amazing burgers. Definitely recommend

So sad! This place is normally amazing. Today my burger was like warm and under seasoned. For as busy as they were it should have been hot! Drove 30 minutes for average burger. Fries were hot but lacked salt as well. Sweet counter person. read more

Food: Best burger I've had!! Delicious. Meat was spiced well and cooked to perfection (double meat is the way to go) vegetables were fresh and the fries were good too!!! Service: great service super nice staff. Can't beat that!! Ambiance: this is a small space so seating is limited. Inside dining area was clean, outside dining area is shaded four tables perfect for this time of season. This place was a 10/10 for me I recommend it!! Also try the fried pies delicious. read more

Absolutely the best burger in Cleburne. Then Burger Bar. Open on Friday & Saturday until 7pm.

Terrible SERVICE! Burgers are average. Your wait time will be anywhere between 15-20 minutes even if you call ahead. If you're a dasher picking up an order forget about it. Min. 20-25 minute wait! If you can't handle dash orders and your walk in then get rid of dash! read more

Fantastic tasting burger. We were in Cleburne to buy an RV. We found this place and were so glad we did. You know it's good the minute you walk in and smell the food. Cheeseburger was probably the one of the best. Juicy and tasty. Would consider driving down from Dallas again for a Saturday lunch. read more

What a treat to go to this 90 year old burger establishment. Really delicious with large portions plus they have rare RC Cola! My husband got the Slim Jim Cheeseburger (basically the medium size hamburger). He said it was very fresh meat with a perfect char on both sides. He loved the Awesome Sauce on it! I ordered the Grilled Ham and Cheese with onion rings. The cheese was melted to perfection. Both were fantastic! The inside seating is small about 6 tables. We opted to eat outside at an umbrella covered table. We talked to lots of charming locals that were waiting for their orders at the to go window. Many we talked to said they had been coming here since they were kids. I love that! read more

Good burger and fried green beans!! Easy fast delivery. Great for lunch at work . Didn't get to try the fries but they looked delicious

So I'm in Cleburne for a couple days and looking for good lunch places. Looked like good reviews for Morris Neal so drove over before the lunch rush started. Be prepared to eat early or take the lunch with you. They have a very small dining room with 6 or 7 tables. I got lucky and sat down after I ordered. I was also there at 11:30. On this day they had the A/C cranked up and it was 50 degrees outside. Several times I almost got up to go outside and warm up. I never get cold either. Just roughed it because I was anxiously awaiting this experience. They brought my double bacon cheeseburger and onion rings out. A little pricey at $17 but still anticipating goodness. I will say the Pattie's looked awesome! No freezer made plain patty here. The bun was exceptional too. Took my first bite and there's a lot of meat but missing a little seasoning. It was a good burger but just could have had some more seasoning to get that 5th . The onion rings were good. A small portion for the price but still good. Definitely worth a stop for a good burger and experience. read more

I've been eating at Morris Neal's Handy Hamburger for over 70+ years and have no intention of stopping anytime soon. Since my grandparents first started ordering the burgers for me as a toddler until now, the flavor and quality have remained consistent. Although Morris isn't there anymore, the legacy that he left of good food at a reasonable price continues. read more

I went here a few days ago and had the worst service I've had in a while from anywhere! After waiting at their picnic table right outside the door where we said we would be, after about 20 minutes, my son went back in and they claimed "the ticket didn't print"-waited a while longer and finally got the food, which was 2 tiny overpriced burgers for $15- No apologies, literally sheepish smirks from the employees! Not sure how they've been in business so long! read more

Brings back memories of my childhood when burgers tasted homemade. Food is fresh and delicious. I ordered a single meat and wish I had gotten a double meat because it was so good. Great food and great local business we should support after its long existence down by the creek thru town.

Best burger I ever ate. And let me tell you, I have eaten a lot of burgers. Read an article back in the 80's in the Startlegram about ol' Morris Neal. So we decided to check it out. When we walked in it was like being transformed back to the 70's. And there he was, sitting in a booth.Morris Neal. I said howdy, and we talked for a minute.Nice old man who made us feel right at home. Then our food came.It was like a religious experience. It was that good.Dang, I want one now! read more

BEST BURGER!!!! Burger Bar is amazing too. Can never have too many choices. We just moved here a eeek ago. This place will be on repeat!!!

wait time is too long and they do not prioritize the orders. Customer waiting at location on order should come before phone in calls or DoorDash. Burgers was not that great either. Im only one person but I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had a bad experience at this place. the previous owners definitely did better then the new owner. read more
