Went for breakfast Saturday morning and of course they were busy but the food came out quick and our waitress was so sweet . We love eating breakfast here and listening to the older farmers sitting around talking no offense about being old because we are too but just love listening. Sunrise is a friendly, down home restaurant. We have been here numerous times, and are always happy with food and service. Family owned and operated. We love the great coffee, and have sampled a great many items on the menu. The only issue we've ever had is the closing time, 3pm. The decor is a nice mixture of things, recently updated. Got breakfast delivered today because I'm not feeling good enough to cook. What a treat! We ordered an American cheese omelette with crispy bacon (and it was!), SOS and a Farmer's omelette. The gravy was silky smooth and loaded with sausage, the biscuits were the lightest, fluffiest biscuits I've ever had! Salsa was a bonus accompaniment I didn't expect and delicious. Hash browns were nicely seasoned (could've been a little crispier but that's a preference thing) and fluffy pancakes included. A very enjoyable meal and we look forward to having their breakfast again! read more

Great food and the service was awesome. Loved the portion sizes especially with the pancakes for the kiddos.

This place doesnt look like much from the outside, but inside is a different story. This breakfast restaurant is immaculately clean, spacious and uncluttered. There are no annoying waitresses trying to make small talk, they are very straight forward when taking your order. The wait staff does not bother you incessantly either, which is a plus. The large portions are great. I actually ordered too much my first time there, thinking it was going to be similar portions to IHOP, but no, they actually give you an amount that will fill you and someone else. My husband said the coffee was very good, and I could tell the meat and vegetables in my meal were very fresh. The prices are what surprised me the most. I got several sides and a full breakfast meal (again, me misjudging the portions) and my husband got a full breakfast and sides, and it was very modestly priced for the amount of food we got. Everyone was polite and to the point. The food was great and the restaurant was clean. The prices are low. There really isn't much else you could want from a dining establishment. This place has it all. And!!! It's across from La Cima, my favorite place for lunch and dinner. read more

Breakfast ? Just say no. When I am on the road I normally just order bacon and eggs and hash browns because they are normally hard to ruin. But the Sunrise chef has "ruin " pretty down. Unless you like bacon and hash browns fried to a cinder, and both served stone cold. Amazing. read more

What an unexpected experience. I agree w another post, the exterior - the first impression, leaves much to be desired. Thinking we might find a decent place that didn't offer "creamer" and "whipped-butter like" margarine, we stumbled upon the Sunrise Café. The owner, a cute little Macedonian man, scurried about cleaning tables, greeting and taking the new diners to tables. As the tables began to fill with hungry Church-goers, on this day, the city elite of Cleburne, it became clear. THIS Place is the best kept secret in town. The food arrives perfectly prepared and presented. The staff - attentive and cheerful. Clean environment, generously portioned meals, and the coffee. Whoa. You had me at 'Hello.' Well, this hard-working man from Macedonia is on to something great. Now, all that's needed is more reviews and warm butts in seats, and Cleburne will have themselves a legit foodie destination. read more

I can't recommend this place enough! I ordered through DoorDash & let me tell you about GOOD! The bacon was cooked to absolute perfection! Only suggestion I would have is either put a little container of seasonings mixed together on the side or put them into the hash browns they were a little tasteless. Food was okay other than my burnt bacon. But the entire time I was dining in, I was getting stared at by the people who, I now know are the owners of the place. They seemed very judgmental as I came in with two of my friends I was visiting in TX. I was a new face and I didn't feel welcomed ... my friends were not new there but they seemed to have something to say about them. I'm not sure why my breakfast seemed to be interrupted by people staring at us from the bar and immediately looking away but maybe they should start treating people like humans if they want them to give them their money. read more

Don't let the outside appearance keep you from walking in to a great breakfast joint. I ordered the migas and the portion was enough for two!!! It was delicious. The corn tortillas were store-bought. That was a little disappointing given the quality of the migas. Salsa was homemade and very mild. My son and his friend ordered Small Combo (which wasn't small at all!) -- 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 2 pancakes. Waitress was super friendly and sassy!!! Loved her. read more

When you walk into the Sunrise Cafe there does not appear to be a host and the wait staff said to sit wherever we liked which worked out great for our large group. The waitress brought our drinks and took our order. Our food was served within a reasonable time. The breakfast plates were presentable and displayed crispy bacon, large portions of hash browns, and the kid meals were appropriately sized. Overall a good place for breakfast! read more

Disappointing. Toast was cold. Frozen hashbrowns barely warmed through (talking lukewarm), almost zero crisp or color. Highlight was eggs were cooked properly. Coffee was fresh and hot. Might stop again for a cup of coffee, but I'll pass on the food. read more

Increíble restaurant in Cleburne. First time in for breakfast, and we ordered the Western Skillet and two egg breakfast. The skillet was awesome with thick bacon and perfectly cooked sunny-side up eggs. Belgium waffle added and it was lite, fluffy on the inside, and crusty on the outside. We've visited many times for breakfast. The wait staff is the best. Friendly, efficient and accurate. The coffee is great. I have three suggestions. 1)the pancake mix...get buttermilk. The mix used now is pretty bad. 2)the syrup doesn't taste maple enough and just tastes weak, and it's cold. 3)the butter is ice cold. I don't want to be rude, really. We will continue to come and eat here, just can't do the pancakes. The prices are wonderful. read more

The service was excellent and frankly the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. All the waitresses were very attentive and sweet. They kept my table and the others very clean and orderly. Considering the excellent reviews written about this place, I was very much surprised when I received my food. I ordered my food around 8:45 or 9ish. So not too late in the morning. I got the big combo. The hashbrowns were soggy, pasty and flavorless, possibly reheated. They tasted like leftovers. The sausage was definitely microwaved and based on the odd texture, I going to assume the bacon was as well. The pancakes were ok, very little flavor, but on the whole I'd say they were average. The eggs were great. I ordered over easy and they were cooked perfectly. Also the coffee was very weak. read more

Had breakfast here twice and will keep coming back. Been to a 1/2 dozen places in cleburne and this is the best. The eggs were cooked to perfection and so were the pancakes and hash browns! The turkey bacon about right - Crisp and not burnt. Wife drinks coffee, and it was good and not bitter in the least. Waiter was friendly and although busy, very attentive.
